Chapter 1: first meeting

The TARDIS materialized in the heart of New York City, right in the midst of the Avengers Tower. The Doctor stepped out, his long coat billowing around him as he adjusted his bow tie and straightened his floppy hair.

His companion, Conor Harrison, followed closely behind, a look of wonder on his face as he took in the sights of the bustling metropolis. Conor had only recently been introduced to the Doctor and his time-travelling spaceship, and he was still coming to terms with the idea of exploring the universe in a police box.

"Welcome to Avengers Tower, Conor," the Doctor said, flashing a toothy grin. "Home of Earth's mightiest heroes."

Conor nodded, his eyes widening as they walked through the sleek and modern interior of the tower. As they made their way to the main lounge, they could hear the sounds of laughter and music drifting through the air.

The Doctor pushed open the double doors, revealing a scene of celebration. Tony Stark, clad in his Iron Man armor, was mingling with the other Avengers, while Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff were chatting with each other in a corner. Thor was holding court at the bar, regaling the others with tales of Asgard.

But it was the sight of a lone figure standing by the window that caught Conor's attention. She was pale and ethereal, her dark hair cascading down her back in waves. As she turned to face them, Conor could see the hunger in her eyes, the hint of fangs peeking out from behind her lips.

The Doctor stepped forward, a smile on his face as he extended his hand. "Drusilla, it's been far too long," he said warmly.

Drusilla's eyes lit up with recognition as she took his hand, her grip surprisingly strong for such a delicate-looking creature. "Doctor," she purred, her voice like velvet. "I see you've brought a friend."

Conor nodded, his curiosity piqued by the strange woman before him. He had heard stories of vampires and other supernatural beings during his travels with the Doctor, but he had never come face to face with one until now.

As the Doctor introduced Conor to the other Avengers, the party continued in full swing. Tony Stark poured Conor a drink, while Natasha and Clint shared tales of their recent mission. Thor bellowed with laughter as he regaled them all with stories of his adventures on Earth.

But it was Drusilla who captured Conor's attention the most. She moved with a grace and poise that was both mesmerizing and unsettling, her eyes never leaving his as she circled around him like a predator stalking its prey.

As the night wore on, Conor found himself drawn into a conversation with Drusilla, her words like honey on his ears as she spoke of the wonders of the universe and the mysteries of time and space. The Doctor watched from a distance, a knowing smile on his face as he observed the budding connection between his friend and the vampire.

As the party began to wind down, the Doctor approached Conor and Drusilla, a twinkle in his eye. "I have an idea," he said cryptically. "How would you both like to accompany me on a little adventure?"

Conor and Drusilla exchanged glances, a thrill of excitement coursing through them both. They knew that wherever the Doctor went, danger and excitement were sure to follow. And they were more than ready to embrace whatever came their way.
