'Pirates of the Vaccuo-ribbean'
Naturally inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean, curse of the Black Pearl is a great movie, one of the best ever, and the theme of 'He's a Pirate' is legendary. I'm going to say it, there is not a theme that compares to it, Ezio's family, Battle of Heroes, Arrival to Earth, Duel of Fates are all good, but that one is something else man.
Sitting up from his bed, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes and doing a quick stretch. Neptune hastily got to work, back cracking and yawning all the while, he had some extra work to do before his boss woke up.
The ceremony was today and Governor Schnee would want the ceremonial sword to be delivered on time with no delay, which was perfect because Neptune had finished it the very week the order had been issued, normally he could go through a few orders a day, but this one was special, something that he had put a lot of hard work and effort into, something that he wanted to impress everyone. Especially Lady Weiss.
Oh Lady Weiss, she was a beauty of unrivalled description. She had been the one who saved him when he was a young boy all those years ago, drifting in the sea, it was a memory that he held near and dear to his heart, and Lady Weiss was a woman that Neptune had been infatuated with for nearly as long as he could remember… well remember since that day he had been rescued.
Back to the sword though and the reason that Neptune was so desperate to impress Lady Weiss and everyone at the ceremony, this was his chance to maybe get even closer to her, to finally share the feelings that he had for her, to see if they could even share a few precious moments together, but he knew this was just that, a dream. After all, what woman like Weiss would ever go for someone as lowly as the local blacksmiths apprentice when you could have a noble and distinguished commander like Ironwood, sure he was a bit older than her… like a lot older but maybe Lady Weiss liked that type of person, unfortunately there was no way for Neptune to suddenly age himself up 2 decades.
Never the less, he quickly completed his morning routine and was checking the ceremonial sword out of the safe, placing it down on the work bench to do a final check up he then nodded in satisfaction and placed it back in the box. Right as he then checked outside the door to see the large clock in the middle of the town, spotting the time he realised he had an hour or so, and it would only take 20 minutes or so to get to Schnee manor, so there was no rush, he could get a quick practice in with his blade work while he waited for the time to tick by, the exercise would do him good as well to calm his nerves on possibly meeting Lady Weiss again.
Drawing one of the hanging blades from their handle's, he took her fencing position and begun the forms, the one's he once saw a soldier practicing a few years ago.
All the way across the port town, in one of the bedrooms of Schnee Manor, still sleeping like a log, despite the early morning sun that was beaming through the window. Lady Weiss Schnee lay there in all her beauty, drooling on a plump pillow, blissfully unaware of the world.
SLAM
"Ah a beautiful day today isn't it my lady?" Cried out the voice of Klein the butler as he walked in, slamming the doors open loudly as he came, knowing that Weiss was still very soundly asleep and dead to the world. Although he did take a measure of amusement from how she jumped awake like that at his and the maids entrance. "Why my lady, were you still asleep? At this hour and on a day such as this?"
Weiss groaned in response. "You know I was." She mumbled into the pillow, as she felt the hands of her maid's helping her up, standing her before the full length mirror in the room, and instantly getting to work preparing her hair and cleaning her face up.
"Well as you know, today is indeed a special one. It is the ceremony of Commander Ironwood becoming General Ironwood." Klein explained while Weiss still battled the morning drowsiness that always plagued her when she slept so well, and with all of that pillowy and blanket softness, she always slept well.
"Oh yes, father spoke of it at great lengths the other day." Weiss said with very little interest for the whole thing, as she stepped behind the screen to change into whatever the maid's had sorted for the day, pausing as she played with the necklace around her neck, her dream had been about Neptune and this necklace, but she could not piece together why, just that she knew she should keep this close to her today.
"Speaking of, the master has sent to use instructions to put you in something new, it is the latest fashion trend from Mistral he has told us." A dress of some description was then shown to Weiss, who raised her eyes at the very long skirt, not the sort of style that she usually wore, and while it was being fitted to her she gasped out a little. "Lady Weiss?"
"I don't think women in Mistral need to breathe." She managed to gasp out as the laces were fully tightened on her back.
While Weiss was discovering how her new lungs were going to work, Neptune had finally made it to Schnee Manor, several minutes early, but he had made it there none the less, all with a impressed look on his face, the little wooden alcove he had made for herself in the blacksmith shop would not compare to this grand mansion, not in this or any other life time, clearly this was the work of a lot of silver and gold.
Neptune was currently stood waiting off in a side room, he stretched to inspect one of the lights, to admire the metal artistry, maybe see if it was an early design of his masters, when the doors opened and there striding in with all the importance of the world was Governor Schnee. He was a tall man, a slim man, but by no means did that make him a push over, in-fact in Neptune's opinion it made him a bit of a creep and he also thought he was a bad man, evidenced by the fact most of his workers were faunus, and that they were all one's he had bought at that as well.
"The apprentice, I expected your master to be the one to deliver." Came his biting opener, as Neptune bowed then straightened up and presented the box, an excuse for the drunk already on his lips.
"He sent me as he was already setting to work upon another order from your office, something for Master Whitely." Wasn't much of an excuse as there had been an order for something of that nature, just that Neptune had already completed it yesterday.
"Hmm." He gave a non-reply as he inspected the sheathed sword, motioning for a nearby guard to draw it so he could inspect the blade, refusing to get his hands even a little bit dirty from work, meanwhile Neptune begun a description.
"The blades steel has been folded to perfection, hardened to the maximum, yet still light enough to be wielded with speed and accuracy-if I may?" He gestured to the guard who was holding it, but it was Jacques who waved his hand in response, somewhat uninterested in the function and description, more in the look of it than anything else. "The blade is perfectly in balance with the hilt, both sides are sharp and able to be used as a means of combat." While Neptune explained this he twirled it and flipped it with an expertise that got him a look of respect from the guard that had handed him the blade, the slight tip of his head as one swordsman to another and Neptune then sheathed it and placed it back in the box he had put to the side, handing the box to the guard before turning to Governor Schnee, once again looking without care at Neptune.
"Do give my compliments to your master, he has done a fine job." Was all he offered as he turned and left, leaving Neptune to swallow his response that he was actually the one who had made and detailed the sword. As he went to turn to leave he was stopped as a voice called out from the top of the stair case.
"Neptune? Is that you."
Her angelic voice was music to his ears, her dress was… was a bit much if Neptune was being truly honest, although what did the blacksmith who dressed in loose shirts and trousers know of fashion? Besides, Weiss could wear nothing and still look perfect-um, that was taken out of context.
"Lady Weiss, you look beautiful." Neptune said in response, only now realising that he must look so much more messy than her.
"And you look a lot more grown up than the last time I saw you, speaking of which; I had a dream about you."
BE STILL HEART! "A-a-a dream Lady Weiss? About me?"
She gave a gorgeous smile, honestly she also gave a gorgeous frown, and a gorgeous sneeze. "Neptune, how long have we known each other? You can drop the lady part."
Feeling a burst of confidence from absolutely nowhere, Neptune bowed with a grin on his face, eyes flashing with mirth. "Of course Lady Weiss."
Klein chose that moment to cough and then begin to lead Weiss away, who looked back one last time to see Neptune still watching her go. "It was good seeing you Neptune, you look well."
The smile did not leave his face for the whole walk back to the blacksmiths shop.
Waves crashed against each other as the sea rolled and turned, the occasional wave would splash against the rocks as well, spraying water far up the cliffs.
One lone boat was cruising along with a man up in the mast, who upon hearing the sudden change in his vessel, pointedly shot his head downwards to spot the incoming water into his boat and promptly grabbed hold of a rope to descend and instantly begin bailing the water out as fast as he could with a bucket.
It was during the 6th or 7th throw when his eye caught something around the corner of a cliff cave, or more accurately, what was dangling and swaying in the sea breeze. Stopping the process he set the bucket down slowly as he stood properly in his boat, removing his hat and placing one hand on his chest and another in a salute to the fallen.
4 bodies, 4 skeletons were shaking about in the breeze, one of them had a sign around their neck which had some writing that he couldn't quite make out from this distance away, but even without checking his spyglass he knew what it was going to say.
'Pyrates'
No words need be spoken as he passed by, and then got right back to bailing out the rest of the water that he could, only to spot a small jetty to the side that he could pull up in, much more inconspicuous and easier to hide away from more prying eyes when he arrived. Plus it would give him ample opportunity to scope out those 2 magnificent vessels that were docked right nearby.
Fixing the rudder into position, he made his way back up to the top of the mast, proudly standing there as he sail/sunk into port, not quite ignoring the looks the other sailors were giving him, more like he was trying to calculate if he would actually have enough speed to make this work, silently hoping that he wouldn't fall short, although that is why he had the rope as a back-up plan.
However it did work and he was able to stride right on as though it had worked completely flawlessly and without issue-
"Excuse me!" He instantly stopped in his tracks and then turned on his heels to see an older gentleman, with a younger boy next to him. The older man had a book in his possession and the younger boy had what looked like a coin pouch handy. "If you are docking up at Port Royal, then you need to pay the fee."
"Ah, honest mistake." He said as he reached into his pocket, drawing out 3 shillings yet keeping 2 in his hand as he showed 1 of them.
"And I shall need a name." The older man explained, peering over the top of his glasses.
Slapping all 3 shillings on the book and spreading them out, he gave a meaningful look. "What say it be 3 shillings, and we forget the name?" He offered up, as the man looked down at the money, the young boy's eyes peering up over the edge of the book to look first at the coin, then to look at the man with a nod.
The older man closed the book after handing 1 coin to the boy, keeping the other 2 for his pocket. "Welcome to Port Royal Mr Smith."
"Thank you kindly." And with a grateful gesture with his hands and a slight flourish bow, he walked towards the edge of the pier, that was when he noticed a separate coin pouch at what could only be their work bench, to which he quickly pocketed it, and he begun to make his way over to the closest of the 2 impressive ships.
He spotted a pair of guards on the dock, and he confidently made his way past them as they chatted, giving a short greeting of a hello, when they did a double take and rushed to stand in-front of him and block him from going any further.
"Oh sorry gents." He then went to step to the other side of them, but they moved to the side in-front of him again. "Ahh, no chance I can get past?"
"This area is off limits to civilians sir."
"I'm terribly sorry, and if I see one I shall let you know." He made to side step them once again, and once again they both rushed in-front of him, rifles ramrod straight next to them. They did look like they were really trying hard to be authoritative, but in retrospect, so was he, so after a second of looking at each other he waved his hands and moved onto his next point. "Why, might I ask, are 2 upstanding and dutiful guards such as yourself, here? And not at the fort where there seems to be a rather fancy to do?"
They shared a look. "Someone needs to stay here and guard the boat."
"Ship."
"Someone needs to stay here and guard the ship."
"Ah, although surely your efforts should be more focused on that one." He points behind them both to the larger vessel that is more prominently displayed, with far more people working on it and far more guarding it. "Surely a ship like that would require the… diligence of people such as yourself."
"Oh the Atlas is the power in these seas, but there is no ship that can match the Beacon in terms of speed." Said the redhead man with pride, as his taller and darker companion nodded next to him.
"I've heard of a ship, supposed to be very fast, uncatchable some would say; the Black Sun?"
The red head scoffed. "The Black Suns not real."
"Um yes it is, I've seen it." Said the taller, dark skinned man, nodding towards his partner, who looked at him then back at the sneaky civilian and then back to his partner, turning almost fully to him.
"You've seen it?"
"Yeah."
"You've seen a ship; with sails as black as pitch, with a crew that is so tough they chew cannonballs and a captain so evil, that the locker itself spat the man back out?"
"Well no."
"Good, because if there was a ship with sails as black as pitch, with a crew that is so tough they chew cannonballs and a captain so evil, that the locker itself spat the man back out, then surely they would be more well known and someone would have seen them wouldn't they?"
"Yeah."
"So there we go, the Black Sun is not real, you are lying." The redhead smiled at his partner, and made to turn the conversation back to the interrupting and snooping civilian, but-
"But I have seen a ship with black sails though."
"Oh, but is wasn't a ship with sails as black as pitch, with a crew that is so tough they chew cannonballs and a captain so evil, that the locker itself spat the man back out, was it?"
"No."
"So there, like I said; there is no REAL ship that can match the Beacon for speed-" That is when they both noticed the man was not there, then they saw him on the Beacon, absentmindedly pretending to turn the wheel with a wistful look on his face. Needless to say they very quickly raced aboard the ship to get to him. "HEY! YOU ARE NOT ALOUD ABOARD THERE!"
"STOP!" They quickly ran across the deck, cocking their rifles and taking aim at the man behind the wheel, who lifted his hands briefly then placed them back down, as though he was patting a pet.
"I'm terribly sorry gents, it's just such a lovely boat-ship. Honest mistake."
Their eyes narrowed as they glared at him, until the redhead one spoke up first. "What's your name?"
"Smith! Or Mr Smith if you would like?"
"And what's your purpose here 'Mr Smith'?" Asked the dark skinned one, heavy sarcasm on the Mr Smith part, that even a blind man could see.
"Yeah! And no lies this time!" Chimed in the redhead, getting a nod from his friend.
With a heavy sigh, and a regretful leave of the ships wheel, they watched the man walk along the deck towards them, hand wrapping in a rope as he leaned on it towards them. "Very well, I confess. I intend to steal on of these ships, pick up a crew at Oasis, pillage and plunder my weaselly black guts out." He explained as he checked their dumbfound faces before he turned on his heel and went back to still continued to almost pet the ships wheel, staring with a longing look out into the sea.
"I said no lies!" Said the redhead very exasperatedly, while his friend then leaned over and whispered to him.
"I think he is telling the truth."
"If he was telling the truth he would not have told us."
"Unless, he was telling the truth and he knew that even by doing so, nobody would believe him."
They gave each other a quick look, as if to say 'that makes sense' then when they noticed the smug expression on his face they quickly hardened their features.
While that conversation between them could be seen as riveting, it was very quickly interrupted with the sound of a cannon fire echoing up at the fortress, where the ceremony had begun and Lady Weiss Schnee was really starting to have some trouble with her breathing, the necklace she had taken from Neptune all those years ago that seemed to speak to her was tight around her neck, but it was buried under the tight dress that she was wearing.
Quickly stepping up onto the fortress ledge she looked down at the sea and felt a little bit better, the crashing of the waves against the rocks was a soothing sound to hear to her, didn't help a lot with her breathing, but it was better than nothing, so long as she was left alone. "Lady Weiss?" She turned a little as her breath got caught, spotting General Ironwood as he was now known, who had come to talk to her. "Your father wished me to come and speak to you, even though I know you have no desire to talk to me."
Weiss sighed as did the general, they were both victims of her father and his drive for political gain. "It is not that James, it is just that I know our marriage would have nothing more than the appearance."
"I know, but as a friend I will still try to let you live your own life as best as I could."
"Even though my father would demand an heir?"
"Yes… that is what I wished to talk to you about." He turned his back to her, as Weiss fanned herself to try and get some air into her lungs. "I don't think we can plan a way to get out of that, I believe we will have to do the deed, I propose we do so early so that way we can get it out of the way."
"I think I'm going to faint." And with that Weiss fell off the edge of the fort, hurtling down towards the sea as she went, meanwhile General James Ironwood, closed his eyes as he still stayed with his back to her.
"I know, I don't like the idea any more than you do Lady Weiss, but what other way out is there?" Upon hearing no response he turned to find her not there, looking around he could not see her at all, then he looked down over the edge in disbelief as he saw her splash into the water.
"WEISS!" He made to take his coat off when he was grabbed by Clover.
"Sir the rocks! It's a miracle she missed them!" They then sprinted for the steps.
Back on the Beacon, Scarlet and Sage were listening intently to this blond man as he spoke about his travels and trips, they had placed down their rifles, nearby them obviously, and he made no movement to try anything, nor did he even glance at them, he simply spoke of his stories, excitedly as though he didn't have much of a chance to tell them much. "-and that was when they made me their chief, see they had-"
SPLASH
All 3 of them looked over to see a human body start to slowly sink beneath the waves as people above shouted down and then they all put 2 and 2 together. "Will either of you be recusing them?"
Scarlet shook his head. "I can't swim." Sage agreed.
"Pride of the king's navy you are." And so he began to remove his stuff, handing his hat to Sage, sword, pistol and compass to Scarlet. "Do not lose them!" He said sharply as he gave his jacket to Sage, and then with a perfect dive launched himself into the sea.
An agonising minute went by as the 2 on the deck watched waiting until he finally broke surface with a woman in his arms and they all raced over to haul her out of the sea, him as well. "She's not breathing!"
"Move!" And then a knife cut through her dress and suddenly she coughed up a lungful of water, breathing in-between coughs as she went, to the relieved faces of all 3 of the men.
"Clever, I never would have thought to do that."
"Clearly you've never been to Mistral before." Then he noticed the necklace that Weiss was wearing and his tone went from playful to serious in an instant. "Where did you get that?" Eyes searching Weiss' then fearfully looking at the medallion, right up until a sword was pointed at his face.
"Stand up now." He heard as an order, then noticed that several others wearing the guard uniform that Scarlet and Sage were wearing, all pointing their rifles at him with serious looks on their faces.
Weiss scrambled to her feet, still sopping wet, but she was not going to let this happen as she faced General Ironwood. "General, is this any way to greet my savior?"
The General met her eyes and then after a tense moment he sheathed his sword and motioned for his men to lower their guns, he held out his hand as though to give a hand shake. "Very true."
The moment their hands met, Ironwood grasped it firmly and pulled it forward while lifting up his sleeve, noticing a tattoo as his eyes scanned it quickly. "Well, well, well, Sun Wukong is it?" Lifting it higher up he saw the brand for Pirate. "Had a brush with the Schnee Dust Company did we Pirate? weapons ready men." The rifles were back to being pointed at him.
"Captain Sun Wukong."
"I don't see your ship, 'Captain'."
"I'm shopping."
"He said he was here to steal one." Said Scarlet as Sage shot him a look.
"Told you he was telling the truth. These are his effects." Sage said as he held out the gear he had been given.
Ironwood picked up the pistol first. "A pistol with no additional powder, a compass… a compass that does not point north, I half expected this to be made of wood." He sheathed the sword and gave Sun a condescending smile. "You are without doubt the worst Pirate that I have ever heard of."
"Ah, but you have heard of me." Sun pointed out as his tail raised itself up as a hand would when someone had a point. Ironwood in response grabbed his arm and led him through the crowd of his men, meanwhile Sun stopped paying attention to the words that were being said, his eyes had already taken in the scene and he saw one of the guards with hand cuffs, perfect.
Neptune had no idea why the bell was continuously ringing through town as he got closer to the blacksmith shop, but with the amount of guards jogging around he could only assume it was a drill or something, until he overheard that a pirate had threatened Lady Weiss and had managed to escape all of the guards and General Ironwood, now Neptune would admit that he might not have been friends with the General, but even he knew he was quite an intelligent man so for a pirate to outsmart him and escape him, they must have been extremely dangerous, which is why he was very glad he had managed to make it back to the shop to find everything still where it was.
Including his very drunk boss. "Right where I left you."
That is when something unusual caught his eye; a ship's captain hat, old, well-worn but none the less still in okay condition. "Not where I left you." He said aloud to, reaching for it when the flat edge of a blade slapped on his hand and he was looking into the eyes of a blond haired man, who had a curious look upon his face, who then picked up the hat and placed it on his own, keeping the sword blade pointed at him.
"I'm going to have to ask you to move lad."
"You're the one their looking for; the pirate."
"You look very familiar, have I threatened you before son?"
"I make it my business to not have dealings with Pirates."
"Well no need to have any further dealings with them hey? So, you forget this ever happened and we go our separate ways." Sun then went to turn but he saw the lad very quickly grab a nearby sword and then point it at him.
"You threatened Weiss."
"You think this is wise son? Crossing blades with a pirate?"
"You threatened Weiss."
CLANGCLANGCLANG Sun slashed first, if he could disarm this young man quickly then he could simply move around him and escape, however the movement and the speed of the young man was surprising as he defended all of Sun's strikes.
CLANGCLANGCLANG His attack was also fantastic as well, blade work that Sun had not encountered before anywhere, each of his strikes were as though he had been on the seas for years, yet he knew the signs of a land lubber.
CLANGCLANG CLANGCLANG CLANGGGGGG He gave the blue haired boy an appraising look as he now realised he stood in-front of the main door, and if he tried to go out the back way he would simply be stabbed in the back, and he couldn't allow that to happen. "Your blade work is impressive, but how is your footwork… if I step here-" Sun was cut off as he and this boy then danced around each other, he could already tell that this was a great swordsman, probably better than he was, however that would be in a fair fight, and this was not a fair fight as the young man found out minutes later when he was covered in soot and had a pistol pointed at his face, meanwhile guards were slamming on the door of the blacksmith shop. "Move."
The young man didn't move, eyes wide, but with sheer determination deep in them. "Please move!" He stressed as he raised his hammer a little higher. "This shot was not meant for you!" Were the last words he remembered saying yesterday, of course he suspected he had been knocked out, possibly by the drunk guy that he had forgotten about in the corner of the room, he really hoped that people thought he had been taken out by the young swordsman.
When he woke up he was sat in a jail cell, as a whole bunch of prisoners in the other cell were trying with all their might to get the dog that held the keys to come over to him, whistling and cooing, holding out bones of dead prisoners, rope to catch the mutt and for some reason one of them was holding a stick. "You can do that forever, the dog is never going to come over here."
They all turned to give him a look. "Well we're sorry if we haven't confined ourselves to the gallows just yet mister."
Sun just gave a little chuckle, bringing his hat a little lower on his face when he heard and explosion take place outside, then he heard a few more. "I know those cannons." He launched to his feet and stared out of the cell window, and down their in the water, with sails as dark as the night itself, a hull that looked like burnt wood, it's beauty unmatched by any vessel in the seas. "It's the Sun."
This got the attention of the prisoners in the other cell as a few went to go and look while one of the older ones, looked through the bars at Sun who was still staring down at his beloved ship, an emotional look in his eyes. "The Black Sun? I've heard the stories… she's been praying on settlements and trade ships for nearly 2 decades; never leaves an survivors."
Snorting and then taking his eyes off his one true love, Sun looked at the man in the cell next to him. "No survivors hey? Then where do the stories come from I wonder?"
The old man's eyes suddenly crossed in confusion as he then realised that surely there must be survivors
BOOOOOM
As the wall exploded sending all the prisoners flying, and when the smoke cleared Sun watched as the people in the cell next to him all raced out of the hole in the wall to freedom, with the old man staying behind to wait for a second as he gave Sun a few parting words. "My deepest sympathies my friend."
Sun sighed as he leaned his head in the crack, which is when he heard some shouts of violence and the a guard fell dead down the stairs, followed by 2 rough looking men who glared around the area. "This ain't the armoury!" One spat out in disgust, while the other's eyes met Sun in the cell.
"No way. As I see before me, if it isn't Captain Sun Wukong." Spat out Sky as Russel joined him, a snarl on his face.
"Last time we saw you, you were getting smaller and smaller as we left you on a little speck of dust."
Smiling at them condescendingly, Sun simply waved his hands. "I escaped that hell hole, but do not worry gents, the deepest circle of hell is reserved for traitors and mutineers-" He managed to get out before Sky thrust forward and a hand was wrapped around his throat, although looking at it, the hand was completely skeleton in the moonlight. "So there is a curse." Sun whispered out, brain firing on all cylinders to make sense of what was happening right now.
"You know nothing of hell."
He wrenched his hand back and the 2 of them raced back up the stairs quickly, as Sun by comparison stared at his own hand. "That's very interesting." Shortly after that, the cannon fire stopped and he was able to get some sleep, although little did he know the reason for the cannon fire to stop.
Weiss was hauled onto the ship by the 2 women, she had no idea of their names, but she knew they were tough, and soon she was in-front of the Captain of the ship who looked upon her with a curious gaze, his blue eyes had spots of yellow around the edges, and his mess of blond hair was scraggaly.
"And what be the reason for bringing this girl aboard?"
"Captain Arc, I have come to negotiate the cease of hostilities upon Port Royal." Weiss demanded as the Captain then chuckled as he glanced around at the men and women of his crew.
"Those were a lot of awful big words dear, we are but humble pirates. What do you want?" He snapped the last part at her after he had gotten a chuckle from his crew.
"I want you to stop this attack."
"Ah… I am disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Means no." He added when he spotted the conflicted look upon her face, again getting a chuckle from the crew. Weiss obviously was not amused and so she grabbed the necklace that was Actually Neptune's and held it above the ocean.
"Then I drop it." The crew was silent as they all looked from her to Captain Arc, who's eyes locked onto the gold and then moved to her face with a fake smile.
"Why we already have a fair bounty-Why?!" He snapped as Weiss looked stunned for a moment.
"Because it's what you have been searching for."
"Oh, is it now?"
"Well if you have no use of it I wil-" She made the motion of dropping it and all of the pirates suddenly leapt forward to try and grab at it, when she got a smug look on her face, Captain Arc then smiled at her, as though to say well played.
"What are your terms Ms?"
"Weiss, Weiss Vasilias."
Arc then turned to address the entire crew as they all murmured between themselves with words she did not fully understand. "MS VASILIAS. Very well then, what are your demands."
"Leave here and never return."
"That is what you want?"
"Yes!"
Captain Arc motioned a nod to his first mate on the ship, a hulking huge figure of a man, with a large sword strapped to his back then barked out orders to the crew and they raced around as Arc then stalked towards the helm, with Weiss racing after him. "Wait! You have to take me ashore! You gave me your word!"
Captain Arc whipped around with a speed that had Weiss stepping away in fear. "1, never insult my honour, we are going, 2, you never said we had to take you ashore-"
"But the code-""
"3, pirate code, and we are pirates, plus the code is more like guidelines anyway… welcome aboard the Black Sun Ms Vasilias! AHAHAHAHAH!"
Bursting into the prison, Neptune looked around and that was when he spotted the form of the pirate from before laying on the floor of his cell, a bone sticking out of the lock, meaning he had tried to escape already, and most likely failed.
"You, Sun Wukong, you know that ship? You know those pirates?"
Still lying there on te messy hay strewn floor, Sun kept his eyes closed as he responded, looking every bit the relaxed and carefree man he was. "Aye, I know 'em, won't do you any good though kid, they will be long gone by now."
"But you know where they are going!" Neptune said as he slapped the bars in frustration at how relaxed that this man was being.
Sitting up from the floor, Sun gave the blue haired man a look as he tilted his head. "Why this sudden interest in pirates boy?"
"They took Lady Weiss."
"Oh so you do have a girl! Oh brilliant, good for you." Sun clapped his hands together as he sat cross legged on the floor, a big grin on his face in contrast to the frown on this young mans.
"This is serious! I need to get her back safe and sound, can you help me find them?"
Shrugging as he leaned back to lie down again, Sun gestured lazily around the cell he was in. "If you want to go after your girl, you'll have to do it alone, I see no profit for me mate."
Neptune inspected the jail cell door for a moment and then he moved over, turning a bench upside down as he wedged it into the cross of the iron. "I can set you free, I built these jails, those are half-barrel hinges, with the right force and the proper application of leverage, the door will open free." He primmed himself ready to force his weight down to use the bench to bust the cell open, when he noticed that Sun was now giving him a curious look.
"What's your name?"
"Neptune Vasilias."
There was a pause as Sun tested it for himself under his breath. "Huh, good strong name is Neptune, no doubt named for your father as well?" His eyes were searching Neptune's own face when it finally clicked for him where he had seen that mop of blue hair, that facial structure, those eyes. He was even as tall as his father had been.
"Yes?"
"Hmmm, well I've changed my mind Nep; I swear to do everything in my power to help you find the Black Sun and get your lovely lady back, savy?"
They quickly clasped hands through the bars, a possibly very un-usual pairing of people to do a rescue mission with very high chances of death, also what were the chances of them managing to walk underwater, steal one ship and then manage to steal another ship and already be out on the way to the open ocean?
While they were near improbable, they were not impossible so they could be done.
"THANK YOU GENERAL! WE WOULD HAVE HAD A HELL OF A TIME GETTING SET UP ON OUR OWN!" Sun yelled back at the guards who lined up to shoot at them, as he and Neptune ducked behind the banisters on the Beacon. They were out of range of the cannons in moments and they were out in the sea with no sign of anybody following them.
"I've not been on the sea since I was a boy, my mother and I took the crossing from Mantle, she thought my father was over here, that was the last day I saw her… when we were raided and attacked by pirates." Neptune explained as he tied down a rope, then looked over as Sun passed him by. "My father, you knew him didn't you? I'm not an idiot Sun, it was only after you learned my name that you agreed to help me. You knew him didn't you?"
Tending to the wheel and not paying much attention to Neptune as he faced the empty deck of the Beacon while keeping an eye upon the horizon when they sailed, he allowed a moment of silence to pass, before he answered. "Yeah, I knew him. Good man, good pirate, better friend."
"A pirate? No. my father was an honest man, a sailor in the navy." Neptune said quickly in denial as he slowly reached for the banister behind him, sitting down on the deck in disbelief and shock, meanwhile Sun talked on, figuring it was best to let the truth out now, rather than simply let it hang in the unknown.
"He was a pirate, and that pirate blood runs in your veins boy, so sooner or later you're going to have to come to terms with that."
"No, I don't think-"
Cutting him off swiftly, Sun stood above the form of Neptune who was seated and looking like he wanted the Kraken to swallow him whole. "I'm going to give you some great advice lad, there are only 2 things that matter; what a man can do, and what a man can't do. For example; you can accept that your father was a pirate, or you can't, simple as that. Similarly I can keep you around when you accept it, or I can let you drown as you go mad trying to reason that he wasn't, but I can't sail this ship all by myself to Oasis. Now; can you sail under the command of a pirate? Or can you not?"
Taking a deep breath and looking at the hand that Sun outstretched to him he grasped it and felt himself be pulled to his feet by the blond monkey faunus as he curiously asked. "Oasis?"
"Oasis!" Responded Sun with a massive smile on his face.
Captain Arc looked over the edge of the mound of treasure that the chest was upon, when he noticed that Weiss had gone, and so was the medallion, looking to his pet monkey he saw it pointing at an exit to the cave. "The medallion! She's taken it! Get out there and find her you miserable wretches!" He yelled at his crew, who instantly forgot about being angry with him for leading them here all for nothing and ran into action, first of all heading to the row boats.
"The oars are gone!" Cried out Nebula as Yatsuhashi then growled and shouted at all of them.
"FIND THEM!"
One oar had been found, as Sun stumbled through the cave setting, using the paddle as a walking stick, he suspected that this was the thing that Neptune had used to knock him out, but he could be wrong, might have been a piece of treasure but who knows really, it was his luck that it might have been a rock falling or something.
Speaking of luck, he walked right in to Dew and Gwen who both pointed their guns at him, others drawing knives and swords, one even had a trident. "You? You're supposed to be dead!"
Patting himself down, Sun looked as shocked as they were for a second. "Am I not? Sorry." He turned around and then made to go back the way he came when he was stopped by Cardin and Dove, who both glared at him with guns pointed at him. Instantly turning on his heel, he tried to go back the way he wanted to the first time, yet they stopped him again, when he tried to start saying the words he knew would get him out of this situation.
"Pakjfewlerv." To the complete and utter confusion of the whole group of pirates, both ahead of him and behind him. "Parrrrty, parsnip, parsly, parry, particale, particular, parr, par-"
"Parley?" Offered Dew as she looked pleased with herself, then that pleased look became ashamed, very quickly as Gwen glared at her, Octavia slapping her face into her palm in disappointment.
"That's the one! Parley!"
"Parley?!" Growled Dew as she glared hard at Gwen, then gripped her pistol even tighter in fury, glaring deep at Sun. "Damn to the deepths whatever idiot came up with parley!" She spat out, Sun then leaned in.
"That would be the Valean." He offered, right before he was marched towards the centre chamber, where he had watched them cut Weiss' hand, right before he was hit on the head.
The assembled Pirates all surrounded him, as Sun then leaned on his oar that he had been allowed to bring with him, since he posed no real threat to people that could not die after all. Captain Arc then walked right through his crew and looked Sun up and down with a questioning gaze. "How the blazes did you get off that island?"
Sun smirked at his old first mate. "When you stuck me on that speck of dust, you all forgot one very important thing mate." He watched as Captain Arc then shook his head to try and find out what that is, and Sun spread his arms wide, still leaning on his oar in a casual display of confidence. "I'm Captain Sun Wukong."
"Ah, well I won't make that mistake again will I? You all remember 'Captain' Sun Wukong don't you?" His crew mumbled in a derogatory fashion, as Arc smiled, right before the smile dropped from his face and he turned his back. "Kill him."
"The girl's blood didn't work did it?" Sun said quickly as he looked knowingly at Arc's back, he knew the man to well.
Snarling Arc issued his command. "Hold your fire!" He barked, much to the disappointment of his crew, who all lowered their weapons. Searching Sun's face for any slight clue, that was when Captain Arc came to a realisation. "You know who's blood we need."
Sun grinned. "I know who's blood you need." He confirmed.
The explosive battle between the Black Sun and between the Beacon had been over and done with fairly quickly, obviously there had only been casualties on one side of the fight, but the survivors of the Beacon were being tied up to the main mast right now by Dew and Gwen. "If any of you even so much as think of the word 'Parley' I will personally cut your tongues out." Dew growled at them as Gwen laughed behind her with an evil grin.
Weiss at this moment in time managed to slip out from under the rope and was about to charge at Captain Arc who had his back to the captured crew, watching the remains of the ship, when it exploded.
BOOOOM
Stopping in place in complete fear for a moment, she then gained more anger in her charge as Arc turned around at that moment laughing as he caught her fists. "Welcome back Ms Weiss, you know the crew did so miss you." He said evilly as he tossed her towards some of his crew to hold onto when a shout came out across the deck.
"ARC!" Causing all to look upon a soaking wet blue haired young man who hopped down and levelled a pistol at him. "She goes free!"
"You've one shot there boy and we can't die." Captain Arc said as he stepped forward with a smile on his face, arms open wide to show off how easy it would be to hit him.
Neptune scanned the deck as he saw Sun who brought his hands together and in a pleading look whispered loud enough to break the silence. "Don't do anything stupid."
Nodding in understanding, Neptune grabbed onto the rigging and jumped back on to the banister edge and pointed the pistol under his chin. "You can't, BUT I CAN!" He yelled to the assembled people, his own crew looked at him like he was completely mad, and Sun then sighed and spoke to Sky and Russel who were holding him.
"Like that."
Captain Arc then lowered his arms and walked forward to stand more in the open deck, looking at this man who was pulling a mad move that even Sun would not do. "Who are you boy?"
Leaving his spot Sun dashed forward and stood in-front of his old first mate. "He's no-one, an old cousin's roommate of my aunt, twice removed. Nasty accident happened you know, snip-snip." Sun rambled as he mimed scissors while pointing over his shoulder at Neptune, Arc giving him a disbelieving look.
"My name is Neptune Vasilias! Named after my father." Captain Arc raised his eyebrows at Sun who shut his mouth and then walked back over to Sky and Russel, looking at the deck as he went.
That was when Gwen raised a shaky finger to point at him. "He's the spitting image of ol' Nep, come back to haunt us!" The rest of the crew all murmured together in agreement, Arc casting a glance at Sun who was biting his lip as he too stared at Neptune.
"Name your terms Mr Vasilas."
"Weiss goes free!"
"Yes we got that one, any others?" Sun then perked up and began to point at himself, Neptune then nodded and gestured with his pistol before pointing it back at his chin.
"And the crew-the crew are not to be harmed!"
Captain Arc then looked at his crew, a sinister smile on his face before he turned back to Neptune. "We can do that."
And do that they did, the crew of the Beacon were taken below to the brig, and Neptune was tied up on deck right now, free to watch as Weiss was forced to walk the plank, where she would then be forced to swim the distance to a small island speck in the middle of nowhere. While Weiss was waiting at the end of the plank, she was looking mightily concerned when out of nowhere, Yatsuhashi suddenly shouted out, much to the whole crews joy. "TOO LONG!" Then with a mighty stomp he sent the whole plank shaking as she fell off and splashed into the waves bellow.
The next person to walk the plank was shoved forward and Sun turned to try and talk his way out of all of this. "I don't suppose there is any chance that you would let me see this through is there?" When Captain Arc wrapped an arm around him.
"Sun. Sun, I thought you would be glad, in case you didn't realise, that right there is the same island we left you on the last time."
Looking out with hate, but then quickly shoving that hate away for a moment. "I had noticed."
"Well then perhaps, this time you will be able to do another impossible escape, until then." He drew his sword and pointed it at Sun's heart, forcing him to step onto the plank, right as Sun then bought himself a little more time.
"Last time you marooned me, you left me a pistol with one shot."
"BY THE BROTHERS I DID! Where be Sun's pistol, bring it to me!" He then sheathed his sword as Cardin handed him the sword, the compass and the pistol. "All here old friend."
Looking out the where Weiss was currently swimming towards the island, Sun thought about something again. "Seeing as you are stranding 2 of us, a gentleman would give us 2 pistols."
"It will be one pistol same as before, but you can be the gentleman Sun, and shoot the lady, then you can starve to death, AHAHAHAH!" He laughed as he tossed the gear into the water, Sun looking desperate as he dived off after it, then began to swim quickly over to the island, coming up on the sandy shores as he watched the Black Sun sail away.
"That's the second time I've watched that man sail away with my ship." He muttered to himself, but then Weiss was upon him.
"You got off this island once before right? Then you can get us off again." She demanded as Sun then sighed and started counting his paces, finding what he was looking for and then pulling open the secret hatch that the Rum runners used to use.
"Last time." He started to say as he selected a bottle of Rum for himself. Then coming out of the hatch in the middle of the island. "Last time I was picked up by smugglers who used this island as a stash to escape the notice of people like your dear beloved Ironwood."
Weiss was speechless for a moment, then her face grew red with anger. "So you spent 3 days, sitting on the beach drinking Rum! Are any of the stories about you true? Or are they just more lies?!"
He stopped walking away from her and placed the bottle of Rum down carefully, turning back to her and lifting up his sleeve higher than the pirate brand to show a deep wound that had healed up, then he lifted up the other sleeve to show off old burns that still left their mark, and finally he pulled down his collar to show 2 separate bullet shot that had haled up over his heart, the expression on his face was a serious one. "Truth? No truth at all love." He picked the bottle back up and sat down on the beach, drinking until he passed out.
After being rowed to the cove by Ironwood and his men, Sun smiled to himself as he rowed into the cove where the cursed treasure was. "Ah, a pirates life."
He heard the chanting of the crew before he saw any of them, and when he did see what was going on he very quickly started to make his way through the crowd, pushing past people gentle as he muttered sorry's to them all, but each time he passed them they grew quiet as they watched him. Currently on the large mound of treasure was Captain Arc, holding a knife to Neptune's throat, as he himself was being held by Cardin and Sky.
That was when Captain Arc lowered the knife and looked at Sun with a confused and surprised expression. "It's not possible." He said aloud as everyone else stared at Sun in silence.
"Not PROBABLE!" Sun corrected as he tried to step to climb the mound, only for Yatsuhashi to grab his shoulder and hold him in place.
"Shut it! You're next!" Then he thrust the knife under Neptune's neck as Sun winced.
"You don't want to be doing that mate."
"Oh I'm pretty sure I do."
"Your funeral." Sun said aloud as he stepped back, looking innocent as Captain Arc rolled his eyes, Sun might be an irritating man, but he always had something to offer, something to talk about, something to try and deal to give him the better hand.
"And why do I not want to kill this whelp?"
"Beca-" Sun slapped the hand on his shoulder so he could walk closer to Arc to make his point. "Because. Floating off just outside of the cove, is the Atlas, pride of the royal navy, just ready and waiting for you."
"You led them here."
"Yes I did."
"Sun! What about Weiss!"
"She is safe just like I promised, all ready to marry Ironwood like she promised or has been forced to by her father, and you are all ready to die for her like you promised, so we are all men of our words-except for Weiss who is in-fact a woman, and her father who is a dick." Sun said to Neptune and then he turned to Arc. "Hear me out here; you order your crew to go out and they do what they do best-"
This got many a laughter from the crew as they murmured about the plunder they could do upon this ship. "-Then there you have it, another ship, the makings of your very own fleet. Obviously you would want the grandest as your flagship and who is to stop you? But what of the Black Sun? Make me captain, I give you 10% of my booty, Nora's your aunty, Ren's your uncle, Savy?"
Captain Arc looked him up and down. "So you're telling me not to kill the whelp?"
"Nononono, by all means kill the whelp, just do it at the opportune moment." With that Sun made a little look at Neptune, who's head tilted at the choice of words, then watched as Sun leaned in and scooped up a handful of coins. "For example; after you have killed all of Ironwoods men." He threw 1 coin in.
"Every."
1 more coin.
"Last."
1 more coin.
"One."
Then he threw in 2 more coins, and Neptune's eyes locked onto the slight slip as he saw Sun slightly move his fingers in a quick movement, eyes widening in realisation. "You've been planning this since the beginning!" He cried out, and the attention of Captain Arc and all the crew were on him, not on Sun, who smiled in response.
"Yeah pretty much."
"I want 50% of your plunder."
"15."
"40."
"25." Captain Arc tilted his head in contemplation. "And I'll get you a cooler hat, more feathers."
He nodded. "We have an accord."
"Great! All hands to the boats!" He yelled to the crew as they all looked at him with raised eyebrows, then looked at Captain Arc. "Sorry, you should give the order, I got excited."
"Gent's, ladies… time for landing strategies." Captain Arc said as all of the crew started to laugh as they headed out, Sun looking over curiously.
"Not to the boats?"
Neptune stood there with his hands tied behind his back, shoulder being held by one of the crew who had stayed behind on Captain Arc's orders, there was another just stood out of a patch of moonlight, as though he was getting the last look at what reveals his curse, and then the last one was tossing stones across a puddle of water. Meanwhile Arc himself was sitting on the bottom of the main mound of gold, twiddling a little trinket around in his fingers, his eyes were staring curiously at Sun, who was free to walk around, currently picking up a strange statue and eyeing it weirdly.
Okay everything he did was weird, but Neptune was starting to get it, he was starting to understand something about this man, he was extremely clever, crafty and charismatic, Captain Sun Wukong was probably the best pirate that Neptune had ever heard of.
"I must admit Sun I thought I had to pegged, but you're a hard man to pin down." Arc admitted as he gave a little smile, Sun then tossed the statue over his shoulder.
"Me? Oh I'm dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest, honestly. It's the honest ones you want to look out for, because you can never tell when they are going to do something incredibly-" He had stopped behind the crouched crew member throwing stones, giving Neptune a look as he said the next part. "-Stupid."
Quick as a viper, Sun unsheathed a sword from the crew mate, kicked him into the water and threw it towards Neptune, who twisted and caught the sword, allowing a strike from his captor to slice his bound hands free, then he was fighting 3 on one, while he saw Sun and Arc crossing blades, he recognised that they most likely had a score to settle, and after crossing blades with these 3 others. Neptune came to the conclusion that they were terrible fighters, their immortality had been the downfall of them, sure this meant that they only had to beat him once, but Neptune knew something they didn't; he just had to fight for a few minutes, and he practiced for hours.
CLANG CLANG CLANG
THWING CLANGCLANG
SKIRK
Blades crossing and being face to face, Arc grabbed Sun's arms and leaned in to his face. "You're off the edge of the map her Sun, here there be monsters!" Then he launched him away and chased after him up a ledge.
CLANGCLANGCLANG
CLATTER
Arc had tossed his sword aside when he knocked down Sun and with his arms wide open, he declared accurately. "You can't beat me Sun."
STAB
Looking down, Captain Arc sighed. Drawing the sword out of his stomach and then stabbing Sun through his chest, looking with a disappointed look that it had to come to this-wait a second!
Sun had stumbled back and was stood under the moonlight, with a sword embedded into his chest, his skeleton chest as he inspected his arms, when his skeleton tail then brought up the gold coin that he had stolen with only Neptune noticing. "Couldn't resist mate." He said with a large grin on his bony face, getting a roar of fury from Arc who grabbed his sword and charged at him again.
The fight shifted and soon they were back in the main chamber and when Sun slashed he knocked Arc down so he was lying against a large rock under some moonlight, his skeleton features locked onto Sun's. "So what now old friend? Are we to be 2 immortals locked in an endless battle until judgement da and trumpets sound? Hmm?"
Sun shrugged. "I mean you could surrender."
"AGH!" CLANG
CLANG CLANG CLANGCLANG
CLANG CLANG CLNAGCLANG
CLANGGGGG
It was at this moment that Weiss had raced back into the chamber, spotting Neptune in trouble and had gone instantly to fight alongside him, staring into each other's eyes for a moment before a laugh from Sun and a shout of irritation from Captain Arc drew their eyes, Weiss asking the question on everyones mind. "Who's side is Sun on right now?"
"At the moment?" Neptune responded, quickly pulling Weiss out of the way of a deadly strike and punching the crewmember with the bombs, grabbing one, and when they were all speared together, stuffing it into the chest of the one in the middle and forcing them out of the moonlight.
"No fair."
BOOOOOOM
Arc looked over to see the explosion and Sun looked over to see Neptune running towards the cursed treasure, slipping his coin into his palm and cutting his hand, he then got Arc's attention again and then when he did a little flourish he threw the coin with his tail up to Neptune.
Arc then spotted Weiss running as well and drew his pistol, pointing at Sun would be pointless and he needed Neptune alive for now, so he aimed it at her.
BANG
But he wasn't the one who fired, so he looked around at Sun who was glaring at him, his own pistol smoking. Captain Arc couldn't help the cocky grin spread across his face. "10 years you carry that pistol, and now you waste your shot."
"He didn't waste it." Called Neptune's voice as Arc's eyes shot towards the mound where the young man stood, hand over the chest, bloody knife in his hand as he then dropped 2 coins into the chest.
Arc's eyes widened as he turned back to Sun, pulling his shirt open, just as blood started to seep through the clothes and his gaze grew sombre as he looked at Sun, who lowered his pistol. A strange contemplated look on his face as he looked at his former first mate.
"I feel… cold."
"Goodbye old friend."
Captain Jack Sparrow is one of the greatest film characters that has ever existed, so much depth, story and heart is involved in making him and it really shows, other than the last one where they just made him drunk.
