At the age of ten Naruto was being treated very badly by the villagers of Konoha. At the orphanage he was thrown out multiple times, drunk bastards would come and beat him up and there would be hunts for him during the Kyuubi defeat anniversary.

"Why do they hate me? Why do they beat me and glare at me everytime they see me?

What have I done to them?" were Naruto's thoughts as he ran away from a mob that were chasing him to beat him.

"Come back here demon brat" yelled one from the group of villagers.

Naruto ran as fast as he could and reached a waterfall which had a cave nearby. In a desperate effort to hide, Naruto went into the cave.

There was a pillar in the cave with the kanji for Uzumaki and a swirl pattern below it which Naruto recognized as it was on the back of his t-shirt too and on the back of the Konoha Jounin flak-jacket.

Despite all of this what caught attention of Naruto was the inscription on it "Only those with Uzumaki blood are the one's who can enter the shrine. To enter the shrine chant the words of the Uzumaki". Naruto was very confused. "Words of the Uzumaki?Uzumaki Shrine?...Wait Im an Uzumaki!" thought Naruto but he didnt know the words so he left the cave and went back to his apartment as the villagers had long gone after not finding him for 10 minutes.

The next day Naruto had woken up, was sitting in the kitchen about to drink expired milk when Hiruzen came in. "Hello Jiji !" smiled Naruto. "Hello Naruto-kun" was his reply and he was about to smile when he saw the expired milk and he quickly grabbed it and threw it away. "How many times have I told you Naruto, Dont consume expired stuff. Its bad for your health." the Sandaime scolded.

"But I dont know if its expired or not. I dont know how to read or write and the villagers dont help either" the blonde replied on the verge of tears. "Its okay my boy dont cry. You know what, Ill let you join the academy to help you learn to read and write with the shinobi skills" Hiruzen said in an effort to brighten his mood.

He was right as Naruto in an instant became happy and grinned yelling " Im gonna become hokage just like you just you wait !" to which Hiruzen chuckled."You got to become strong for that my boy and work hard. Come lets go get some supplies for you".

The both of them went and Hiruzen helped Naruto by groceries at a fair price as well as some shinobi gear. While they were purchasing the shinobi gear Naruto remembered about the cave. After buying what tge blonde needed they walked out and on the way home Naruto asked Hiruzen about the Uzumaki Clan.

"The Uzumaki clan? They were wiped out several years ago during war and there were very few survivors left. They were a great ally to konoha and even the first Hokage, Hashirama Senju's wife was an Uzumaki, Mito Uzumaki." was his reply.

"Do you know anything more about them? Like the words of the Uzumaki?" questioned the curious blonde. "Ah yes there was an old saying that was believed to be the teachings of the clan or the words of the Uzumaki as you know it. It was something like 'Family and friends are the greatest treasure'. Something like that if I remember correctly but why do you ask?".

"I didnt know anything about my own clan so I was just curious" replied the blonde keeping the cave incident from the Sandaime. The Hokage new he was hiding something but decided not to question it as what would be the use of the information a ten year old was hiding from him.

After reaching Naruto's apartment, Hiruzen hid him goodbye and that they will meet again soon and he made Naruto promise to him that he will work hard to become stronger and become the hokage one day.

After some time when he had learnt how to read and write at the academy the blonde remembered about the cave . Naruto went to the cave again and said the words infront of the pillar "Family and friends are the greatest treasure" .The blonde heard a sound outside the cave and felt commotion coming from the waterfall. He went to check it out and saw that the waterfall revealed an opening which Naruto went through and the opening closed behind him.

Naruto was shocked and flabbergasted as thoughts ran through his mind that he wont be able to return to the village again and the thoughts were racing a mile a minute as he explored deeper into the hidden shrine. Lights lit up and there were scrolls,seals,books everywhere.

Naruto picked a book up and read it. It was about adamantine chains and how to use them. He read the instructions and it said this is one of the special techniques of the Uzumaki. He did as told and tried to channel chakra and focus on moulding it like a chain through his palms. He had very little chakra control so only a small chain came out and Naruto was frustrated but he would leave it at that and practice it another day.

Then he read up scrolls on basic Chakra control and few special exercises that would help an Uzumaki control their chakra better as an Uzumaki would be expected to have large amounts of chakra, usually not in full control. The equipment to practice all of this was available in the shrine itself so Naruto did exactly that and gained far better control over his chakra than he had previously.

Naruto then read the history of the Uzumaki and the blonde was in awe at the strength his clan had possesed in the past mainly due to their prowess in fuinjutsu(sealing arts). Naruto explored deeper and he came to the centre of the shrine where a pattern of seals glowed below him before disappearing and the whole shrine lit up more so than before and in front of him stood a hologram like figure of Ashina Uzumaki.

"Welcome to the shrine fellow Uzumaki.

I am Ashina Uzumaki, the first Clan Head of the Uzumaki Clan and I am very displeased to inform you about the downfall of our clan mainly due to the attacks from Iwa,Kumo and Sunagakure. We fought bravely for the protection of our family and friends but we were outnumbered and wiped out as the result of the war. I request you to rebuild the clan if possible as you might be the only survivor left after the war. The info stored in this shrine will guide you and help you to bring back our clan together" said the hologram after which it disappeared and a medium sized scroll popped in its place.

Naruto's brain was comprehending all of this as he picked up the scroll with a read seal on it. It looked like the blood seal he had read about in the shrine and he bit his thumb and opened the scroll.

The scroll contained information about the different hidden shrines located in Uzu and the Main shrine which contained all of the wealth and treasure they had accumulated in the past. The scroll also contained a live map of all the survivors of the Uzumaki clan yet living in the world. The map could be modified and looked at by a seal present on it which changed the radius for the map.

Naruto decided that he will use it sometime later in the future

Naruto resealed the scroll and attached it to his back. Surprisingly it was lighter than he expected and the Naruto looked for a way to get out of the shrine. There was a large sealing array for an exit and he channeled chakra through it. He was suddenly on the top of the mountain where the faces of the Hokages were carved. Naruto returned home thinking that today was the best day of his life till now as he could experience some form of closure after learning about his own clan.

The next day Naruto woke up late due to him not realizing how much time had passed yesterday at the Uzumaki shrine.

He quickly ate breakfast,brushed, dressed up in the orange jumpsuit and left. He ran as fast as he could toward the academy as he didnt want to be late on the first fay itself. He was however a bit late and Iruka, their teacher scolded him for that and told him to take his seat in whichever bench he found empty.

Naruto sat at a spot in the back next to one shy Hyuuga Hinata who blushed hard when Naruto sat next to her but soon controlled her feelings although the blush didnt leave her being a very slight one now. They were taught about the shinobi history,how to use their chakra,kunai and shuriken throwing etc on their first day half of which Naruto already new due to his visit to the shrine.

Naruto made four new friends that day, He first had introduced himself Hinata and asked her if they could be friends to which he received a nod and blush from the girl after which she fainted and was sent to the nurse. His next friends were Shikamaru, Chouji and Kiba who he played with during the break.

After the academy he went back to the shrine and trained, learning new skills and refining his present skills. He received a katana from one of the scrolls which was named 'Whirlpool Blade'.

He trained with it

in the space-time dimension built specifically for the learning of kenjutsu.

In the space-time dimension, 1 hour equalled 1 second passing in the real world.

Naruto trained for three hours before he got tired as his body couldnt handle intesive training at such a young age for prolonged periods of time.

He then explored through various scrolls while keeping track of time.

The blonde found a scroll and learnt the Shadow Clone from it.

After performing the shadow clone, Naruto believed that the training was enough for the day and he went out for dinner, eating ramen at his favourite, the Ichiraku's

(Five years Later, The day of the genin exams.)

Naruto had become a lot stronger and a lot smarter in these past 5 years. The shrine helped him greatly as he had learnt much from it. He had become High Chuunin-Mid Jounin Level in Taijutsu,Kenjutsu,Ninjutsu(basics)and a master of Fuinjutsu (greater than Jiraiyas level).

The blonde's chakra control had become much greater so much so he could preforms the water walking exercise while leaves were stuck to his body.

(He was able to do this much due to his constant use of shadow clones wherever possible)

He also learnt about his status of being the Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi after he found the seal on his stomach.

Naruto wore a mask of stupidity in front of others as he had realized he could trust no one in the village. He would reveal his abilities when the time was right.

Naruto's name was called by Iruka for his academy exam. He was asked to do the clone,henge(transformation) and kawarimi

(substituting). Naruto did the henge and the kawarimi effortlessly and perfectly however he was having issues with the normal clone so he asked if he could perform any type of clone to which he received affirmation from Iruka before Mizuki could interfere and deny him.

Mizuki didnt want Naruto to pass so he tried to place Naruto under a genjutsu which Naruto immediately detected and dispelled. Naruto then performed the shadow clone perfectly which made the jaw of both teachers drop."I could pass you on the basis of that shadow clone alone but where did you learn it?" asked Iruka.

"Oh I saw a jounin performing it the other day and I tried to replicate it multiple times before I finally got it" was the lie which managed to satisfy Iruka and Iruka gave him the hitai-ite after passing him. Naruto smiled a small smile and took it gratefully from Iruka, wrapping it around his forehead.

Naruto came out of the exam room proudly wearing the hitai-ite and returned home. He did not have much to do at the shrine as he learnt the fuuinjutsu that was available and the only thing left was elemental jutsu. Naruto however was getting his body into shape now with physical training and he ate nutritious home cooked food instant of eating instant ramen everyday for every meal.

That was partially thanks to Hinata helping him and telling him how he should eat a proper diet otherwise his body wouldnt grow and he wouldnt be able to become hokage. Although Naruto had grown mentally and become smarter he didnt lose his childishness and his determination to become hokage. What was also shocking was that Hinata had overcome her shyness thanks to Naruto's outgoing personality and she also didnt stutter while speaking.

Hinata had grown more and more attached to Naruto as Naruto himself had and they had become best-friends. Naruto also helped Hinata get stronger when he could as she wasnt allowed to meet him but they still did during the academy and in secret during the holidays. He helped her train in taijutsu and also taught her some kenjutsu after he gifted her a spare katana from the Uzumaki which was a normal one unlike his special blade. The blonde did so as a thanks to her as Hinata used to make lunch for him everyday at the academy.

Naruto had also developed feelings for her after he abandoned that silly crush he had on one pink haired banshee but he wouldn't confess to Hinata out of the fear of being rejected and their relation as best-friends becoming awkward.

Mizuki was caught during the night as he tried to get Naruto to steal the forbidden scroll but Naruto instead informed the sandaime which led to his arrest.

The genin exams were over and the graduates had assembled in the class next day for the team formations. "Congratulations to you all on passing the genin exams. You all are now genins of Konoha and the future of our village and I hope you will work hard to protect our village and make the village proud of you as a shinobi" was Iruka's speech before he announced the teams.

All the girls except Hinata were anxious as they wanted to be on a team with Sasuke. Hinata was anxious too as she wanted to be on a team with Naruto as she would be much comfortable with him than any other in the class. "Team 7 will consist of Sasuke Uchiha,Naruto Uzumaki,Hinata Hyuuga. Team 8 is Shino Aburame,Kiba Inuzuka and Sakura Haruno. Team 10 will be the InoShikoCho trio with your Jounin sensei being Kakashi Hatake,Kurenai Yuhi and Asuma Sarutobi respectively and these teams are finalized" said Iruka.

Sakura was disappointed and was crying that she couldnt be on the team with her Sasuke-kun. Ino wasnt as disheartened because Shikamaru had already told ger about something like this happening. Naruto and Hinata were very happy to be on the same team while Sasuke was jsut brooding to himself.

All the senseis except Kakashi arrived and and took their teams

Team 7 was left waiting in the academy. An hour passed and Sasuke was getting frustrated while Naruto was setting up a prank for Kakashi as a punishment for being late. Hinata just waited patiently,chatted with Naruto and giggled at his antics.
