Naruto,Sasuke and Hinata were waiting for there sensei when they heard footsteps. Kakashi came in and avoided the duster Naruto had placed on the door that was supposed to fall on him.

"You really think a petty trick like that would work on m-" said Kakashi as he slipped on the water Naruto had spread on the floor in front of the door. "Gotcha Sensei !" laughed the blonde. "Meet me at the rooftop in 2 minutes. Who ever comes after two minutes will be sent back to the academy" said Kakashi coldly. Sasuke grunted and the trio dashed for the rooftop.

"You really pissed him off huh?" asked Hinata and she received the usual cheeky grin from the blonde as they headed towards where Kakashi was on the rooftop.

"We'll start with team introduction first. You go first blondie" said the lazy jounin. "Name's Naruto Uzumaki ,Hobbies are eating ramen,training. Dream for the future is to become Hokage and rebuild the Uzumaki clan. Dislikes are the 3 minutes it takes to cook ramen,people who can't distinguish between a kunai and the scroll in which it's sealed." was the blonde's intro.

"Wow ! Big stuff for the intro from blondie. Now what about you Uchiha?" spoke Kakashi lazily. "I'm Sasuke Uchiha, Don't like anything in particular. Dream? No I'm going make it a reality by restoring the Uchiha Clan and its honour and killing a certain man" was the raven-haired boy's cold intro laced with some hatred toward Itachi.

"You are next Hyuuga" to which he received her reply "I'm Hinata Hyuuga, Hobbies are training with Naruto and spending time with my little sister, dislike the caged Bird seal and my dream is to become Clan head and unite the Hyuuga clan."

"You all have wonderful dreams but it will remain a dream if you don't work hard. Meet me tomorrow at training ground 7 sharp 8:00 AM and I advise you not to eat any breakfast" said the sensei after team introductions were over.

The next morning the freshly graduated genin were seen waiting at the training ground 7 for their sensei. It was 8:30 AM and Kakashi had yet to show up. Sasuke was already frustrated at him for yesterday and this angered him even more. "Let's teach this lazy bastard of a sensei a lesson when he does come" said Naruto also being frustrated at Kakashi.

Sasuke nodded and together they made a plan. It was 9:30 AM when Kakashi indeed did arrive. He came reading his Icha Icha not paying attention. That's when three figures ambushed him and his precious book was taken when he wasn't paying attention. Sasuke then quickly burnt the book with a small and quick fireball with very little chakra. Kakashi meanwhile was held up by Naruto and Hinata confronting him for being late.

"Not my Icha Icha special edition !" cried Kakashi as the trio smirked and glared at him. "That's what you get for being late you pervert" said the trio in sync. They then took the bell test in which Kakashi was sure to get revenge for his book by performing the thousand years of death jutsu on Sasuke. He had tried to put Hinata under a short genjutsu but she evaded it with her byakugan. Kakashi also buried Naruto neck deep into the ground with and Eath style jutsu but it was just a shadow clone and Naruto appeared behind Kakashi and used his Katana to deliver a deep gash on tge scarecrow jounin's back but it just turned to mud due to it being an earth style clone. This continued but they weren't able to get the bells before the deadline.

Their bell test was the most promising Kakashi had ever taken yet as the trio worked in perfect cooperation. Their teamwork wasn't exceptionally good or anything but it was still far better than what he expected. The arrogant Uchiha also surprisingly followed with the plan that the trio had made together and he also worked well with the blonde and Hyuuga.

Kakashi had passed them after he saw both Hinata and Sasuke offer their lunch to Naruto at the same time even when he had ordered them not to unless they wanted to face severe consequences. They still did and it was the reason why Team 7 was seen celebrating that night at the Ichiraku Ramen stand.

Kakashi narrated to them the stories of his genin days and how they too were Team 7 under the Yondaime Hokage himself. After the tiring events of the day, the members of Team 7 returned to their home after celebrating fo a good-nights sleep. Tomorrow was a big day for them as they would be taking their first mission as a Team.

Naruto was very excited about fighting new opponents,enhancing his skills and experience on the field but he didn't know his excitement was about to turn into reluctance because of the D-rank mission they would take.

Few days pass and the genins of Team 7 were very frustrated with the D-rank missions they performed repeatedly.

Sasuke swore that he would kill Tora the cat if they got the mission to retrieve him again for they had done it more than 10 times. That day when they entered the Hokage's office, Naruto begged the Hokage to give them a real mission. Hiruzen reluctantly gave Team 7 a lower C-rank mission of protecting and escorting a bridge builder to wave country.

"These kids are what I get for protecting me? I'd have a better chance protecting myself !" complained the drunk bridge builder Tazuna. "I assure you that you would be fine with them. Also one of the village's strongest shinobi would be protecting him" said Hiruzen and signalled to Kakashi. Tazuna agreed and they set out toward wave.

They were on their way after they almost passed the border of Fire country when Kakashi saw a puddle which looked suspicious. He alerted the genins and they began to take a formation to protect Tazuna from harm when two figures emerged from the puddle and sliced Kakashi in half.

This shocked the genins and they feared the worst for a moment but then Kakashi came from behind the now revealed demon brothers and flung a kunai at such speed that it went through the shoulder of one of them. The trio quickly recovered from their fear and were now in action.

The demon brothers were then defeated by the teamwork of Naruto and Sasuke. Kakashi interrogated them and when he got the info he needed, he confronted Tazuna who accepted that he had lied about the details of the mission due to him having less money for hiring higher ranking shinobi. After understanding his situation and request to Kakashi to continue with the mission anyway,Team 7 along with Tazuna were on their way again. Just as they were nearing Tazuna's house, they were completely surrounded by a thick mist.

"All of you get down now !" shouted Kakashi as all of them except Naruto ducked under the incoming strike of the sword Kubikiribocho of one Zabuza Momochi. Naruto however had sensory abilities due to his previous training with the Uzumaki knowledge on sensing chakra signatures of enemies and objects with the pulse of your won chakra outward. Naruto jumped over the sword gracefully and threw a kunai in the direction where Zabuza was standing on the tree. Zabuza however tried to evade it but the kunai ended up making a scratch on his left cheek.

Zabuza was left speechless at the velocity and accuracy at which Naruto had thrown the kunai. He then battled Kakashi 1 on 1 as Kakashi had requested the genin trio to stay back and protect Tazuna. He pulled his mask down a bit revealing the sharingan. The fight of water jutsus ensued and Kakashi had the upperhand.

Just when the battle looked like in the favour of Kakashi, the demon of the mist trapped him succesfully in a water prison.

Naruto quickly came up with a plan and together with Sasuke they freed Kakashi with their teamwork and Naruto's excellent use of the henge. Naruto then proceeded to capture Zabuza with the use of a paralysis seal he drew up while Kakashi and Sasuke kept Zabuza distracted.

Meanwhile Hinata was protecting Tazuna and even fought and defeated two to three water clones of Zabuza that managed to get past the remaining members of her team. Thus Zabuza was defeated by the combined efforts of Team 7 and Kakashi was about to end him when senbon came flying at great speed and embedded in the left side of Zabuza rendering him unconscious.

Haku stepped out, introduced herself as a

hunter-nin from Kirigakure and left with Zabuza's unconscious body which Team 7 believed to be dead. Kakashi was suspicious about the hunter but he shrugged it off and he too fainted due to his use of the sharingan. The team resumed their mission and arrived at Tazuna's home to recover from their battles.

Kakashi took a day to recover from chakra exhaustion but still wasnt in a very good shape. He walked around in crutches and trained the genjn trio by giving them instructions and pointers. He was surprised to find that Naruto already knew tree walking and he let Naruto go and train his water walking, sending a clone with him. Hinata did the tree walking flawlessly on her first try due to her being a Hyuuga which came with perfect chakra control. Kakashi advised her to keep doing the exercise so she could expand her chakra reserves.

Sasuke on the other hand was a bit jealous of them and how they could do it on their first try while he couldnt. Kakashi tried calming him down by explaining to him the reason they could and it seemed to work. He gave Sasuke pointers on where he was wrong and how to maintain the balance of chakra to his feet. Sasuke kept trying until evening and eventually got it. Kakashi's clone with Naruto had dispelled as Naruto could walk on the water without falling in it after several attempts.

They had dinner at Tazuna's house and were chatting at the dining table when Inari, Tazuna's grandson burst out "You shinobi are pointless, there is no such thing as heroes in the world as Gato will kill all who try to go against him. Just give up already".

Naruto became a bit furious at Inari's statement and gave him a piece of his mind. Inari went back to his room crying and Naruto realizing his actions apologized to Tazuna and Tsunami (for those who dont know Tsunami is the daughter of Tazuna).

Naruto the went out to blow some steam off. Hinata tried to stop him and calm him down but Kakashi told her not to and that he would handle it himself.

Naruto trained his kenjutsu in the woods nearby. He was angry at himself for being so insensitive and his anger was visible on the trees in the surrounding. He eventually exhausted himself and his anger subsided which lead to him becoming unconscious.

The next morning Naruto was woken up by who he thought to be a young civilian girl. She was dressed in a pink kimono and was very beautiful, so much so that Naruto forgot about his feelings for Hinata for a second.

"Hello Mr.,Im Haku and I found you sleeping on the ground while I was searching for medicinal herbs" introduced Haku and she told him her concern that he would catch a cold if he was here any longer. "Nah, Ive never been sick in my entire life and I dont think that will happen but I do have to leave" said Naruto ready to leave. Naruto took his katana while Haku went back to choosing the herbs for Zabuza.

The blonde asked her the reason she was finding medicinal herbs. She replied that a lived one was suffering from an ailment so she picked herbs for their recovery. The blonde sympathised with her and helped her. When she was done and they were about to leave Haku said to Naruto "I'm a boy you know so don't get the wrong idea" which left the him stunned.

Naruto returned to Tazuna's house and he was thinking if he was gay for thinking about Haku for a second. "Damn these hormones. It surely isnt gay if I misunderstood that she was a girl" mused Naruto to himself. Team 7 continue their training and days pass while both Kakashi and Zabuza recover fully.

One day Naruto woke up in the morning to find his team gone to the bridge to safeguard Tazuna. He heard crying downstairs so he went to check it out. Two of Gato's men were holding Tsunami by her hand while Inari cried and begges them to let her go. Outraged, Naruto quickly grabbed two kunai and flung them toward the pair of bandits. The kunai lodged itself in the chest of both and they fell down in agony. Tsunami rushed over to Inari and hugged him. Naruto then told Inari to gather the villagers and come to the bridge as he had a feeling that Gato would come again. The bridge was almost complete and they were at great risk so they agreed.

Naruto then left and headed to the bridge. On his arrival, he saw Zabuza and Kakashi duel while the hunter-nin from kiri had Sasuke and Hinata trapped in the dome of Ice mirrors. Naruto jumped in the dome from up and with the combined efforts of the genin trio, they were able to break out of the Ice mirrors. Kakashi had trapped Zabuza with his dog summons and was about to end the missing swordsman of Kiri when Haku took the chidori to her chest, saving Zabuza.

Gato arrives, kicks Haku's body and insults her and says he was useless just like Zabuza was. Gato's goons come from behind too and they were surrounded. Zabuza doesnt take the insults to Haku well and in a fit of rage, goes on a killing spree, kunai in mouth thanks to Kakashi. He kills Gato and then falls down to the ground beside Haku. He too passed away with all his injuries and exhaustion.

The bridge was completed and the end of Gato's reign was celebrated. Haku and Zabuza were given a proper burial at the entrance of the bridge. The bridge was named after Team 7 and the konoha team returned to Konoha after paying their respects to the graves of Zabuza and Haku.

Upon arrival in Konoha, Kakashi informed the team that he would report the mission to the Hokage and probably recommend them for the upcoming chunin exams. This brightened the genin trio's mood and they forgot about the depressing events of the previous mission as they headed to Ichiraku's for celebrating.

During their time as a team, although it was a short while but they had bonded together splendidly. Even the broody, Uchiha Sasuke had opened up and he only ever showed his genuine smile to his teammates. The Uzumaki and Uchiha duo were hyped up about the exams while Hinata was unsure about it. Naruto's encouraging words however helped the Hyuuga joining the excitement. The Chunin exams were to be held after a week so they were determined to train themselves even harder and become chunin.
