Aftermath fic 2

Two hours later the code was called off, and so my roommate and I carefully took down all the boobietraps. My parents and my roommate's parents took us home. All car ride, the first thing I did was something smart. I changed my voicemail to say "hey. You've reached Kevin. I'm fine. I survived, no damage. I'm getting a lot of calls of people asking if I'm okay and so that's why I'm gonna be unable to take your call." Then I texted everyone I knew who went to school with me and asked them if they were okay. The minute we got into my house, I asked my mom if John had made it home yet. She said no. So I called him. "John, it's me, Kevin. I'm fine, I'm at home but are you okay? Do you need anything? I'm really worried about you please call me a back as soon as you can." I couldn't sleep that night. I texted John too-he didn't respond. I dropped off in my room and just scrolled social media. Eventually I went to sleep but it was hard. I was so worried about John. I wanted to marry him.

The next morning there was a knock on the door. I went down to see who it was through our boobietrapped house. It was John. Thank God he's okay! My inner monologue said, as I opened the door. A soft smile came across my face as I said "John" he was standing there, holding a bundle of flowers "This is for you"

"Awwwww thank you, that's so sweet."

"Nah, you're a freshmen. This was proboly your first school shooting." I nodded.

Then, at that moment, we just looked at each other. In a way we had never looked at each other that way before. The next thing I knew my eyes were closed-all I could see was darkness and my chapped lips felt the moisture of John's lips. The ones that always looked so cute.

When we pulled away, I softly smiled. Then he looked me straight in the eyes "I really like you"

Then he hesitated but looked back at me and grabbed my hands. "It seems we mesh really well together and maybe you wanna be my girlfriend."

I did a small giggle and said back "I think I'd really like that."

I went back inside with that same smile on my face. My mom was right there and said "you two were out there for a while" "Yeah" I said.
