This is the Remake Version of Chapter 5 (2.0)
Getting Schooled! The Dragondwind emerges!
Earth 7: Gardenia
Ben was left on his own to do as he pleased when the Winx went to battle the wizards in Magix. Still, he wasn't really able to accomplish anything. Now that the wizards were gone, Roxy didn't need to be watched. Additionally, the town's crime rate was remarkably low. "Hero time" wasn't really necessary, then. Ben kept touring the area and kept seeing pictures of children playing with their older grandparents. This was just another reminder of what Ben had lost in his chase after Hex. He was beginning to question whether he would ever return. That's when his thoughts had returned to Ogron's suggestion. Could he return him? If so, what would he need in return? Ben had, however, shaken his head. Ben had arrived at the mall, and as a hero, he should know better than to ever put your confidence in a villain. Perhaps playing a few arcade games would help him forget about everything.
Ben had reached into his pocket to get some cash. Initially, it appeared that he was losing money, but then he discovered a rumpled $5 bill that was left over from his most recent stipend. However, his stomach started to growl just as he was ready to head to the arcade. It had been a while since he had eaten. Which to choose? while spending hours on games? or stuff his gullet? Ben was seated at a table and chowing down on a chili dog three minutes later.
Ben complained in between bites of his chili dog, "Man, there's nothing to do around here. I may have been fighting aliens and psychos regularly, but at least it was fun. This place is way too peaceful for my taste." But before Ben could take another bite, a sound that was all too familiar to many a hero was heard. It was an appeal for help.
A somewhat nasal voice screamed, "HEEEEELP! THIEF!"
Ben got up from his chair and turned to face the source of the voice. Ben had seen a man sprinting while wearing a blue suit and a mask, holding a pink pocketbook securely.
Ben moaned as he raced behind a massive fern at a gardening store, "Ah man, just a common purse snatcher. Ah well, I'll take what I can get." A light green flash came from behind the potted plant in a matter of seconds, and he was out of the store as Wildvine. Still, this did not fail to frighten off a few visitors. He had reached across, looped one arm around a ceiling lamp, and swung to the floor where the man had been seen. The man had entered the elevator and pushed the button for the lowest floor by the time he arrived. However, Wildvine shocked the guy by pushing the doors open with his arms just before they closed.
He greeted him with a "Hello there, dirt bag!" before throwing him from the elevator and binding him to a bench. He seized the bag from the man and added, "Now I'll just leave you here for mall security to deal with. And as for this." However, when he did, he saw that a large group of people had gathered around him. They didn't know if to be scared of him for being a strange mutant plant monster or to applaud him for stopping the thief. He reasoned that he may as well return the purse before any of them started yelling and fled.
"Uh, will the owner of this purse please step up to claim it?" requested Wildvine. But all the throng could muster was quiet. all but one.
"Excuse me! Get out of my way! Said the same nasally voice that had called out for help. As the owner of the voice made their way to the front of the crowd, it was revealed that it was a girl.
Her black hair is long and parted on one side. In addition to having a pale complexion, she sports cat-eye-framed, dark blue spectacles. She's wearing a green tank top with a single yellow stripe along the middle that has little cutout parts. She has on khaki capris as well. Her name was Mitzi. And she had proven to be an annoyance to the Winx on more than one occasion.
Asking Mitzi whether it's her purse, Wildvine responded, "Uh, is this yours?"
With an impolite wave of her hand, Mitzi said, "Uh, duh. Now if you wouldn't mind?" She could have simply taken it from Wildvine, but instead, she took the bag from him and marched out in a huff.
"Uh, you're welcome?" Wildvine said.
"Hey plant guy!" exclaimed a small child among the throng. He turned to face the small-capped child who had addressed him as Diamondhead in the park and realized that it was indeed him.
Wildvine said, "Huh? What is it?"
The boy said, "Are you friends with a Green/blue rock guy?"
"Green/blue…rock guy?" Wildvine inquired, perplexed, before realizing what he meant. "Oh, you must mean Diamondhead. Yeah, you could say I know him. What gave you that idea?"
The child pointed to the Omnitrix on Wildvine's chest and stated, "He was wearing the same badge you're wearing."
However, the Omnitrix was about to flash red, signaling that Ben's time was almost up.
Wildvine said, "Ah man, already? Sorry folks. Love to stay, but I gotta now." before making his way to a different area of the shop.
The scene shifts to the men's restroom, where the door has blinked bright red. Ben had returned to his usual persona.
He said to himself, "Well, that took me a few minutes. Now what?" Ben was going to leave when The Dragonwind started talking to him once more. And her expression seemed a little desperate.
Dragonwind said, "Ben, is something wrong."
Ben folded his arms and said, "Dragonwind! About time you showed up. For a while, I thought you were giving me the silent treatment."
"Sorry, Ben, but jokes aren't appropriate right now." The Dragonwind answered. "The Winx are in trouble. Serious trouble!"
With some anxiety, Ben enquired, "What do you mean?"
"The Winx are losing the fight against the wizards. It isn't looking good. Additionally, they appear to have recruited someone else into their ranks. A witch by the looks of it. She utilizes these strange rock golems." The Dragonwind said.
Ben remarked, "It sounds like Charmcaster. She's the niece of the crazy wizard and has tried to get the watch on a single occasion. But, what do you need me to do about it? Non-magical beings can't get through that Alfea's barrier remember?"
"True, but let's think about this for a moment. Bloom has the dragon flame, and she's classified as a magical being right?" Dragonwind responded.
Ben said, "Yeah, so?"
"Say if a Human had one of the dragons…Say, the Dragonwind…wouldn't that make that person a magical being as well." Dragonwind said.
"Yeah...and...Oooooooh!" Ben exclaimed as he realized he had figured out what the Dragonwind was hinting at. "But, even if I'm a magical being, how are we supposed to get that place?"
"It's quite easier to point out the problems in a situation than finding the solution, isn't it? Dear boy, I grabbed part in creating the magic dimension. So it's only natural that I have the power to travel to any portion of it as I please. So, what do you say Benjamin? Are you ready to lend a helping hand?" Dragonwind replied.
Ben exclaimed, looking resolute, "You know it. Time to go school some wizards!"
Before it began to flash a vivid green, Dragonwind answered, "Good answer." The Dragon unleashed a massive torrent of air from its mouth, breaking open a gateway to the magic dimension, just as a strong wind gust began to pick up. Ben had walked into the portal without thinking, the Dragonwind trailing closely after.
Magix Dimension
The scene changes to the Alfea school's hidden records. The magical barriers that Faragonda and the other instructors had erected had been readily breached by the wizards. Charmcaster carried a book under her arm as they left the room. It contained the book of Magix written in mysterious runes, and it was colored in bright and brown tones.
"Alright, we got the book. Now let's get out of here before those fairies decide to get back up." Charmcaster replied.
Anagan asked, "Remind me again exactly when you became a leader?"
"Yeah. We're more powerful than you and we've got you outnumbered. So why is it that you're handing out the orders?" Duman replied.
Charmcaster replied, "Because I'm the only person who can read this book aside from my uncle. And since he and your red-head friend are off on a mission to the Red Fountain school, you have to follow my orders. Unless you'd rather try to figure out the book yourselves?"
Gantlos said, "Alright, alright, we get it. You're the boss. But when we meet together with Ogron and your uncle, we'll be the ones callin' the shots."
Charmcaster sighed, "Feh, whatever."
Stella, along with the Winx, had transformed into their Believix forms when she said, "I'm afraid you aren't going to meet anyone today."
"I do hope you have a library card to check out that book with," Tecna replied.
Charmcaster answered, "Sorry, no card. But we're just going to grab the book anyway."
"I don't know how you fairies recovered so quickly, but the next time we put you down, you'll stay down," Duman replied with a grin.
"Sorry, but we can't let you leave here with that book!" Musa remarked.
After pulling two rock golems out of her eerie bag, Charmcaster said, "I'm afraid you girls won't have any choice in the matter." She concluded as she walked out the door of the library, saying, "You two, see our fairy friends here. I have a delivery to make."
After unleashing a bolt of fire magic that knocked the first rock golem back a few steps, Bloom exclaimed, "We can't let her get away! Aisha, you go and get the book. We'll handle things here."
Aisha said, trying to get out of the room to go after Charmcaster. "Right, I'm on it!" However, Anagan stood in her way.
The wizard questioned, "And just where do you think you're going?" The witch in purple was making her way out of the school while the Winx were occupied dealing with the Wizards and Charmcaster's rock-headed minions.
"Heh, this is too easy," Charmcaster laughed.
"I have the book that will give me and my uncle rule over all dimensions, and those Wizards do better distract those fairies but first, I have to do something about those annoying wizar- WOAH!" Charmcaster said, shocked when a fireball nearly left her face severely scarred. She turned to look at the person who had thrown the fireball and said, "What the? Is it the red-head fairy again?" However, she discovered that it was Ben in his Heatblast form, not Bloom.
Charmcaster asked, "The heck? How did you get here?"
Heatblast saw the book under her right arm and said, "Love to tell ya, but that's not the issue right now. I assume that book you're carrying is property of the school?"
After placing the book in her magic bag, Charmcaster answered, "That's none of your business."
Heatblast smirked and stated, "In other words, you stole it. I'll be taking that back now."
Charmcaster threw some explosive charms at him and said, "Why don't you try it, hot head?" In retaliation, Heatblast shot the rocks with a torrent of fire, causing them to burst. But Charmcaster attempted to escape while he was preoccupied. But Heatblast had not wasted any time in catching up to her, and he was throwing fireballs at her. Charmcaster had waited out Ben's metamorphosis phase and had dogged every attack she could. But one fireball landed near her and burned off the strap holding the bag to her waist, causing it to fall to the ground.
Charmcaster yelled, "NO!" as she quickly fell from the air to try and get the bag first. Heatblast, however, had already surrounded it with a ring of fire, keeping her from approaching it before she could.
With a taunting finger, Heatblast taunted Charmcaster, saying, "Ah, ah, ah. Any move you make, and this bag here is going to be reduced to nothing more than a pile of ash!"
Charmcaster had let out a hiss between her fangs. She had to act quickly or else she would have to jeopardize a crucial component of her uncle's scheme.
"Tch, fine. Keep it. I'll be back for it later." Charmcaster said as she had taken off knowing she couldn't do anything more at this point. With Charmcaster gone.
Charmcaster took off, knowing there was nothing more she could do. "Tch, fine. Keep it. I'll be back for it later."
since Charmcaster vanished. After he had set the sack on fire, Heatblast absorbed the fire, and he transformed back into Ben as the Omnitrix dial on his chest flashed red. He was unnerved by Charmcaster's bag's design as soon as he picked it up.
Ben commented, eyeing the bag, "Eh, creepy. Now how do I get that book out of here?" Before he delved more into the bag, Stella shouted out to him and he noticed The Winx in their civilian clothes running towards him.
As soon as she and the others left the school and walked over to Ben, Stella shouted, "Ben!"
Musa asked, "What are you doing here?"
Ben casually stated, "Sup ladies?"
"Don't sup ladies us! How exactly did you get here? And how did you get past the barrier?" Stella yelled.
Ben snorted, "Pfft. Wouldn't you like to know?" Stella got frustrated by this.
Stella was about to yell at Ben, "Why you little-." But Faragonda cut her off.
Faragodna said, "So, you must be Ben. If you don't mind me asking, how exactly did you get here?"
Ben glared at Stella and remarked, "Well, since you asked so nicely, unlike some other people I know."
Faragonda was surprised to hear Ben say, "I got some help from Dragonwind."
"E-excuse me?" Faragonda questioned with a tone of disbelief. "Who did you say will help you get here?"
Ben said, "Uh, the Dragonwind. Why?"
Faragonda said, "Can I see that bag you've got there for a moment?"
Ben said, "Uh...sure," after giving Charmcaster's bag. She'd waved her palm over the opening of the bag and it had gleamed a vivid blue. She had reached in and felt around till she eventually discovered the book that she had tried to take earlier with the wizards. "The Book of Magix."
Faragonda started to head back inside, the group trailing behind her. "Good. Now, I'll need to see you all in my office. Follow me please." But Stella had stepped in front of him, stopping Ben in his tracks as he attempted to follow.
Stella exclaimed, "Hold it!"
Feeling agitated, Ben exclaimed, "Oh come on! What is it now?" to Stella.
Stella retorted, "If you haven't noticed, this is an all-girls school. The only males who are allowed in here are teachers and guests."
Ben said, using air quotes, "Well then, consider me a visitor."
Stella opened her mouth to respond to Ben, but Musa interrupted her instead.
"Hey Stel, just what is your problem with Ben anyway?" Musa responded.
Stella answered, lying, "What are you talking about? I don't have a problem with Ben."
"Really? Then tell me, who was it who constantly and unjustly accused him of being an alien? Sure we found out about it later, although that's beside the point." Musa said.
"And then you gave him a difficult time regarding choosing whether or not he wanted to come here to stop Hex. Despite the fact he knew he'd probably never see home again." Flora said.
Faragonda asked, "Um, ladies, if I may interrupt?"
"If you want to keep up this conversation, can you please do so inside? Regarding Ben, for the time being, he is our guest. And despite any conflicts you've had with him earlier on, I want you all to show him hospitality. And I do mean ALL." She said as she looked at Stella. "Is that clear Stella?"
With the defeat, Stella replied, "Yes, Miss Faragonda."
Ben had blown a raspberry, quickly irritating Stella as the group entered the school.
Alfea School
As they moved through the hallways, Ben noticed that most of the girls had their bellies visible, which made him wonder why there wasn't a dress code.
Ben said, "Hey, uh, Miss Faragonda is it?"
Faragonda said, "Yes? What is it, Ben?"
"I'm curious, why do all the girls here leave their stomachs open? Haven't they heard of shirts?" Ben responded.
Faragodna replied, "Unfortunately, this is how teenage girls choose to dress these days. I advise you to advertise your eyes. You're far too young to be peering at women who expose more of their skin than necessary."
Even though Ben wasn't sure what that meant, he chose to disregard it and continued to follow the group. But Ben couldn't help but sense that he had a lot of eyes on him. The girls had already started chatting among themselves about Ben's possible arrival, speculating that he was the Winx's younger brother.
After a while, the group had reached the headmaster's office. After taking a seat on her chair, Faragonda opened the Magix book. The book was written in arcane runes, rendering it unreadable to the average person. She started to browse through the pages until she came upon the chapter she was searching for.
"It claims that the Dragon Wind belonged to a tribe of dragons that created the magic dimension and everything magical that exists. The seven frequently looked for those deserving of receiving their power. However, as they were the ones who created magic, individuals with bad intentions were able to harness their power. A group of wizards and witches constructed the statue of the seven dragons by taking tiny pieces of their strength. A statue that possesses a strong binding spell that makes it possible to subdue an elemental dragon. either acting independently or allying with another person. However, the people who made the statue discovered that there was a prerequisite before they could harness the dragon's power when they tried to use it for the first time. They must overcome their current host or spouse at their strongest before they can claim it. Few people have been able to accomplish this with success." Faragonda said.
"The statue of the seven dragons….why do I think I've heard that somewhere before?" Bloom inquired.
Faragonda said, "I guess that's why the wizards tried to steal this book." "It holds the location of the statue that they are in search of. At the moment, we've got two of the seven dragons with us. young Ben here possesses Dragon wind, and Bloom carries the Dragon Flame."
Ben said, "Dragon...Flame? So that means you can use fire-based magic right?"
"Yeah. By the way, how did you meet the Dragon wind anyway? I hadn't felt any magical energy from you before." Bloom said.
The Dragon Wind, who had suddenly emerged, said, "Allow me to fill in that part." Everyone had jumped in shock at the dragon's unexpected presence.
Dragon Wind bowed and said, "Greetings everyone. I am the Dragon Wind. A pleasure to make your acquaintance."
"Wow, You're beautiful. I love your feathers," Flora exclaimed, taking in the dragon's beauty.
"Thank you, dear. I do take pride in my appearance. But I believe we have a more important matter to discuss." Dragon Wind replied. "Miss Faragonda, with all due respect, I must ask for you to aid in Ben's training."
Ben questioned, "Training? What training?"
Dragon Wind said to him, "Come now, you weren't expecting me to do everything for you now did you?"
Aisha questioned, "You mean like, bringing him here to Alfea?"
Dragon Wind answered, "Yes. As I was saying, Benjamin, you must learn to channel my magic through your means. After all, no real hero achieves victory through shortcuts."
Faragonda said, "I couldn't agree more. Not to worry. I'll train him the best I can. With some help from my former students of course." calling out to the Winx.
"Oh...do we have to?" Stella moaned.
Dragon Wind shot out, "I'm afraid you do." with sternness.
"As strong as you and the Winx have grown, you are not sufficiently powerful to face both the Wizards Of The Black Circle as well as Hex and his niece. Having a second dragon keeper on your team is going to be more helpful than you realize. I must take my leave now. I'm counting on you all." Dragon Wind stated before her disappearance.
"Well, I suppose the questions we're facing now are, who's going to train him, and where is he going to stay?" Flora replied.
Faragonda said, "Not to worry, this situation has happened before. Although it's still quite uncommon, males who are magically gifted are typically directed to the Red Fountain.
"Hey, what's going on at the Red Fountain anyway? We haven't heard anything from the boys in a while now since they came back for a mission," Stella said.
Musa asked, "You think something might have happened?"
"That's precisely what I plan to discover," Faragonda answered. "In the meantime, see young Tennyson's accommodations. We shall begin his training shortly."
Meanwhile at the Red Fountain…
Both experienced and inexperienced warriors-in-training were either critically wounded or unconscious. Hex and Ogron had run through the school with ease and found their way to the headmaster's office. Ogron was tied to the wall and confined behind magical restraints.
"Thank you so much for your cooperation Professor Saladin," Hex responded. "The bark from this staff will do wonders for the spell we'll be using later. Your students' skills were...adequate to say the least. I indicate you do fewer lessons against monsters and more training against magic users. Otherwise, the schools of Alfea and Cloud Tower are going to blow your little school right out of the water." With that, the two wizards had left the school, leaving Saladin aidless.
Now this Remake of Chapter 5 is done some chapters will come out.
