19. chapter 18

Last time

Tsunade: Mind having breakfast with us, I would love to have a conversation with you, if your not so high up your horse that you can't get down

Naruto: of course, but if you put poison on my food I'll make sure to take you with me Shinobi scum. Let's head to my room

Naruto said with his arm crossed before he walked ahead of them. Tsunade and shizune joined him*

Now

We see Naruto, Tsunade and shizune having breakfast. They were eating in silence just enjoying the food, and Shizune was starting to sweat feeling the tension grow more and more*

Shizune:s..so! Your from iron country huh? I hear that's quite the beautiful place

Naruto:oh it is. A place safe from the greed and corruption of you Shinobi that only care about money

Naruto said without a hint of malice, seeing it as nothing short of the gospel truth. Tsunade chuckled at that*

Tsunade;there's the iron country superiority complex I know and hate

Naruto:you call it superiority, we call it the truth. My recent mission can attest do that

Naruto was kind enough to refill the tea to his guests. Shizune nodded as a thank you and Tsunade Placed her hand on her cheek*

Tsunade;mind telling me about this mission ?

Naruto:oh you'll get a kick out of this one leaf Shinobi. Since it's a mission that your village refused to take up

Tsunade looked mildly interested as Naruto told his adventure in wave, about Gato, Zabuza, Haku, about the bandits and the poor living conditions of wave*

Naruto:all of that could've been solved quite easily if the leaf didn't let that village to rot.

Tsunade scowled hating the smug look Naruto had on his face*

Naruto:really it's kinda funny when you think about it. Konoha knowned across the elemental nation as the village that fights for peace, that fights for equality, that fights to find a way to make all the nations sign a mutual peace agreement. Refused to help wave country. Proving iron country right.

Naruto stopped the smiling and scowled at Tsunade as if she was the person who murdered his friend Emiko*

Naruto:you Shinobi are nothing more the scum. Nothing more then glorified bandits with fancy tricks, that sold your souls for greed

Shizune:now that's not really fair

Shizune said getting the attention of the two people that were just waiting for the other to make the first move to start fighting*

Shizune:what was Konoha supposed to do ? Let the genin team go off to die?

Naruto:2 seconds

Naruto simply said, both Tsunade and shizune looked at Naruto weirdly as he refilled his tea*

Naruto:those, what did you call it? Genin team? They could've returned and explained the situation. Once your oh so great leader was told what was happening he could've send high ranking Shinobi's to stop the destruction of that once beautiful land. It took me 2 seconds to think of a solution.

They both saw the samurai's face change, it wasn't smug, there was no arrogance to speak of. They both saw hos face transformed in to one of sadness. Naruto let the sadness flow through him as he thought on all tazuna, tsunami, Inari had to go through, all that saki Yoshida went through, he thought on how every single person in that village suffered. When he spoke even the tone of his voice changed, to one of a angry sorrow*

Naruto:That village suffered for another 3 years, people died,sold there bodies, or they're bodies were taken by force for another 3 years because you leaf Shinobi couldn't spare 2 seconds to think of a solution for that village. And why? Because they were poor, and didn't have the money to ask for help, since again that's all you Shinobi care about is money

Naruto looked at Shizune, Shizune was having a hard time looking at the samurai showing such raw emotions. Naruto scowled a little looking at her*

Naruto:so tell me Shinobi, am I wrong? Did I say anything that wasn't the truth? Your village speaks about love and peace. and yet when it came to act in what they preached they ignored the call to action.

Naruto"where were they when MY clan needed them"

Naruto thought. He was projecting a little but if his clan was gone there had to be a reason for it. And not matter what he thought it couldn't have been a peaceful reason. Naruto took a few breath to calm himself. His face turned into his neutral smiling expression as he got up and bowed to them*

Naruto:I believe breakfast has ended. Please see yourself out, I must go and clear my head and rid this disgust from looking at the two scum in front of me

Naruto said his arrogant tone returning, but it just didn't hold the same weight anymore, since all 3 knew he was faking it this time as he walked away. Shizune looked at Tsunade with a concern look on her face. Tsunade for her part had a scowl on her face as she held her hands together in thought*

Shizune:Ryo for your thoughts?

Tsunade:just thinking. I barely remember menma telling me about that, it was his first C rank mission. I'm... I'm surprised more then anything that Minato didn't help the village, that just doesn't sound like him. One can only imagine why he refused to send help

Tsunade said with a sigh, she got up and walked out with Shizune following. Tsunade kept what the samurai said at the back of his head until she can go back to Konoha and ask Minato himself*

With Naruto

Naruto landed on the ground as he gave a nod to the butterflies as they left. Normally Naruto would've walked, being the kind of person that believes that it's the journey not the destination that mattered. But right now? He needed to find a place peaceful and boy did he ever find it*

Naruto:as always the butterflies have not failed me

Naruto said to himself as he took a deep breath of the waterfall's air finding it beautiful that it remained untouched by Shinobi hands. Naruto let the air out as he took off his kimono, he placed it neatly aside and sat down. Naruto took a scroll from the kimono, he opened it and a whip appeared from it. Naruto grabbed the whip as his eyes became cold*

Naruto:Naruto Uzumaki, you are charged with letting your emotions control you when talking to Shinobi scum. How to you plea?

Naruto said to himself, his tone serious and unkind. It was devoid of emotion as this was another reason why the samurai were more loyal to the emperor then Shinobi to there kages. They took punishment seriously even if they had to implement self punishment*

Naruto: guilty. You are to be subjected to your punishment, repeat the mantra until you can recite it without flinching

Naruto nodded as his grip on the whip harden and in one smooth motion Naruto whipped his back hard*

Naruto:MEIYO, warriors have only one judge of honor and character, and this is themselves. Decisions they make and how these decisions are carried out is a reflection of whom they truly are

Naruto whipped himself again harder then the last, his skin becoming red but he did not show any emotion on his face*

Naruto:REI, true warriors have no reason to be cruel. They do not need to prove their strength. Warriors are courteous even to their enemies. Warriors are not only respected for their strength in battle, but also by their dealings with others.

Another whip could be heard echoing throught the valley as the redness became brighter*

Naruto:GI, be acutely honest throughout your dealings with all people. Believe in justice, not from other people, but from yourself. To the true warrior, all points of view are deeply considered regarding honesty, justice and integrity

Naruto whipped again as blood started to spill out of his back and into the grass*

Naruto:YUUKI, hiding like a turtle in a shell is not living at all. A true warrior must have a have heroic courage. It is absolutely risky, it is living life completely, fully, and wonderfully.

Naruto whipped even harder as the sound of skin breaking could be heard*

Naruto:MAKOTO, when warriors say that they will perform an action, it is as good as done. Nothing will stop them from completing what they say they will do. They do not have to "give theirs word" They do not have to "promise"

Naruto, will was weakening as it took everything he had not to flinch when he whipped himself again*

Naruto:CHU...CHUUGI!, warriors are responsible for everything that they have done and everything that they have said, and all of the consequences that follow. They are immensely loyal to all of those in their care.

Naruto steady his trembling hand as his whipped himself. He failed. Naruto's body flinched when the whip made contact with the open wound making it bigger, Naruto gave a gasp as with grinding teeth Naruto let got of the whip and took a few breath*

Naruto:6...6 out of 7 failure. Again...

Naruto said to himself as he calmed himself and grabbed the whip, he took a deep breath as he whipped himself once more showing no emotion*

Naruto repeated as he had to start the mantra over again until he could say all 7 virtues of bushido without flinching*
