{Author's Notes 01}
Hello Everyone—Yeah I got a bit sidetracked with the novel-length fanfiction, but I'm still working on it, believe me! But I don't think I am ready for that kind of commitment till I become more confident in my story framing skills. So that's why I instead began with this series of Drabbles.
It will have all the Drabbles that I'll ever write, which includes a few snippets from the novel length works that I am visualising and also a few scenarios that I always think about when brainstorming ideas.
I plan to update at least once a week, and I hope you'll share your thoughts in the reviews.
War Hero Harry Potter visits Daphne Greengrass, an ex-death eater in her cottage away from the watchful eyes of the wizarding world.
Disclaimer: The following work is a work of fan fiction based on the works of J.K. Rowling on The Wizarding World. All recognizable themes, settings, plots, and characters belong to her, and I am making no claim to them. They are all the property of J.K. Rowling and, if there are any, all those involved in the smooth publishing of her works. I am not J.K. Rowling, nor am I pretending to be her. I am just a writer who wants to express their theories through the form of literary works.
Pairing:- Harry Potter/Daphne Greengrass
Chapter 1
A soft 'crack' cut through the silence on the hills of Montrose and Harry appeared into the street. The cold Breeze sweeping through the region met Harry again, Tussling the strands of his black messy hair and nipping at his exposed skin. Cold wisps formed in front of him as he exhaled while he narrowed his eyes through the sparsely distributed canopy in front of a quaint cottage.
These old wizarding families sure know how to keep their properties away from prying eyes. He remarked and began walking towards the gate. The property was surrounded by sturdy stone walls that separate the hills from the grounds. Harry reached the gate and touched the latch to open it. A smile formed on his face when he felt his fingers touching a rune and he closed the gate behind him as he entered the property.
There were a few trees scattered inside the boundary walls. A small frozen lake shimmered on the back of the property while a barn sat not far behind the cottage. The cottage itself looked old and three stories tall, its off white concrete walls kept in place by the Blackwood frame that gave it some depth and character. The place looked dimly lit from the inside, emanating a welcoming aura towards him.
He knocked on the door and waited for it to open. A few moments later he felt someone's gaze on him and turned to look at a curtained window to his right. The door in front of him swung open and before Harry could do anything a girl with honey blonde hair lunged him into a hug. Her force nearly knocked Harry off his balance, but he did nothing but hugged her back, his one hand on the back of her head while the other one was around her shoulders.
"You shouldn't be here." The girl muttered, breaking the hug, releasing him from her warm embrace. Her blue sapphire eyes meeting Harry's green emerald.
"Neither should you, Daphne," Harry replied with a smile, "Especially not on Christmas eve." He added s
"It's Christmas eve?" Daphne asked him, Surprised to learn how much time had passed since her term began.
"Yes." Harry replied. "I was hoping that you'd invite me inside, I mean it is pretty cold out here." He added, causing Daphne to flush in embarrassment.
"Of course Lord Potter." Daphne answered, Grabbing his hand and leading him inside. She showed him around the cottage, some paintings that adorned the walls, the stairs which took them to the upper floors and the dining room before they settled comfortably in the living room.
"How are you doing, Daphne?" Harry asked gently.
"I am doing alright, what about you?" Daphne said, coming closer to Harry and tracing her fingers on his shoulder straps. "How is the Auror office treating you?"
"Well I did receive a promotion last week." Harry shared, there was no hint of pride in his voice. "I am a Junior Inspector now, not that it matters."
"What rank is it?" Daphne inquired, unaware of how the Auror hierarchy worked.
"Honestly, even I don't know l—they say that I am the first one." Harry admitted. "But I assume that's just because of my age."
"I am surprised that they're still treating you well despite the very bold claims you've made to shorten my sentence." Daphne remarked sceptically.
"They need aurors." Harry said, trying to hide his smugness. "After Neville left the office for some quiet, people have been ditching the office as well."
"You should go home." Daphne said, turning away from him. "They're probably still bitter about your actions and if they learn about your visit….." she trailed off.
"Don't worry about me." He told her, lying his head on the pillow resting on her lap to face her. "Besides I plan on visiting again, it took me a while to find this place."
"How is it?" She asked bowing her head, her nose was pressed against his and he could feel her breath on his skin.
"It feels homely." Harry said softly, "And I do like a good view." he added amused, getting up from her lap and settling the sofa instead, his face facing Daphne as his gaze remained fixed at hers.
"Did you ever think something like this would happen?" Daphne asked, wrapping her arms around Harry, snuggling into his side and resting her head in the crook of his neck.
"No." Harry whispered, resting his head on Daphnes' and wrapping his left arm around Daphne's shoulder and then fingers.
"I thought my father would sell me to someone for some cheap dowry and I'd spend the rest of my life locked up in his house….." She began. "Yet here we are."
"I thought I'd die on some street in the muggle world…" Harry said, caressing her cheek with his finger "Yet here I am, with you. Owner of a wealth that will last for hundreds of years, Unaware of the purpose of the nobilities entitled to me, With no clue of what surprises the future has in store."
-The End-
{Author Notes 02}
Well that's it for this one, I was thinking about writing a Harry Potter/Susan Bones drabble after this one but then thought two bonus drabbles from the same story won't Hurt anyone, they will probably be done when I am editing this so i might just update this one in the span of a day or two. I hope you enjoyed reading this one. While I understand there isn't a complex plot here, this is how I approach drabbles. In the form of scenarios that I think are key moments in the lives of the characters.
