I'd like to know what all you think about my stories, problems you have with it, reasons you like it, ideas you have, really just anything ^_^
(Day 14)
The moon is high up in the sky, Lucryn feeling the world spinning around him, his entire body cold and then hot, unable to make up its mind.
Slowing his pace, Lucryn coughs, trying to stifle the noise and failing. A buzzing sound reaches his ears, uneasiness flickering through him at the noise.
Lucryn: Azrael, psychic, focus now.
Azrael raises his hand, white skin glowing a light pink, barely noticeable, the light flowing from Azrael to the surroundings. Only getting about three feet from Azrael, the light fades, Azrael huffing in agitation.
Lucryn: Calm, that was an improvement. This will take time.
Azrael continues practicing. This is Lucryn's first training idea for the little one. Using psychic not as a way to move things around, but as a way to sense the surroundings. Since Gallade prefers battling with more physical means, having a strong sense over the environment can lead to heightened reaction time and a better control of the battle itself.
Lucryn sneezes, startling Azrael who had cast psychic again. Azrael gives Lucryn a dirty look, getting an innocent one back.
Walking along, Lucryn let's half of his weight fall on a crutch he made out of a fallen branch. He has grown semi-used to the pain, but aggravating the injury and making it worse isn't necessary, so he won't push himself. With the break and his current pace, he estimated he'd make it sometime nearing noon tomorrow considering he wasted some time to rest, which may have been a mistake as instead of giving his body time to fight off the sickness, he only gave the sickness time to progress and worsen. Based on his temp, he's above 100 Fahrenheit and steadily rising. Allowing it to continue rising could be a problem, but Lucryn brushes it off for a later problem, like a problem for when he's lying on the ground half dead. At the moment he can still move, so finding ways to deal with his sickness is pretty low on his priority list.
Lye pops out of the shadows beside Lucryn, walking with him for only a moment before melting back into the shadows. Lucryn's eyes narrow, locking in on what Lye had subtly gestured at. 'Drat.'
Lucryn: Lye shadow ball. Azrael psybeam.
The calm order was swiftly given, Lucryn's ears now picking up on what Lye had seen, Ninjask, the ninja pokemon. The buzzing noise grew nearer, Lye jumping out of a shadow, a ball of shadows flying from his hand and slamming into the nearest Ninjask. A beam of psychic energy blasts into a few, tearing into some unfortunate trees, leaving wicked gouges.
Lucryn's already running once the two attack, leg throbbing, but his eyes are clear and cold, bloodlust trickling through them. Ralts appears a distance ahead of him, having used teleport on Lucryn's order. Azraels eyes shine with distaste at the hit and run tactic, but still follows through with the order. Lucryn jumps, grasping a tree and swinging himself up and into it. Clenching his teeth, he hisses as his leg rubs against the tree branch.
Lucryn: Lye number
Lye: 7
Lucryn: Azrael teleport within range and use mean look.
Azrael vanishes, not before sending Lucryn a message.
Azrael: This is not how I fight!
Lucryn: Learn or die
Azrael doesn't respond, but Lucryn can sense his distaste. It doesn't bother him though, he knows what he's doing. Reaching into his satchel, he pulls out his dagger. 'Time to hunt.'
Lucryn: Lye, sucker Punch, Azrael's creating the opening.
Eyes watching the battle, Lucryn curbs his bloodlust. 'A trainer relies on their Pokemon.'
Azrael appears in front of the buzzing swarm, eyes glowing as he uses mean look. The Ninjask slow, a few coming to a stop, intimidated.
Lye is suddenly there, springing from the shadows, arm glowing with power as Lye firmly hits one of the larger Ninjask.
Lucryn: don't stand still Azrael, use double Team and then swift.
Azrael lets out a growl, one Ninjask flying at Lye and using Fury Cutter. Lye sinks into the shadows before the Ninjask can hit him, multiples of Azrael running around the Ninjask horde, the real one popping out from amongst all the fakes and solidly landing a blow on one of the Ninjask by using swift.
Lucryn: Teleport to me.
Azrael appears beside Lucryn on the branch, a small cut on his side from where a Ninjask had managed to hit him. Marshadow appears below them on the ground.
Lucryn looks at the incoming Ninjask horde. 'Than again, I don't like relying on others.'
Lucryn: free for all, fight as you wish.
Lucryn jumps as he says that, blade slicing out and hitting right into the crevice between Ninjasks neck and shell. The Ninjask cries out, falling, another Ninjask flying at Lucryn from his left side, it's gray insects arms glowing with power as it goes to use fury cutter.
Lucryn lets himself fall backwards, arm slashing up as the Ninjask flies right over his head. His dagger tears through the Ninjask's paper thin wing. The Ninjask letting out a cry as it falls to the side. Lucryn hisses in pain, rolling to the side, his leg vehemently protesting. Right where he laid, the ground is slashed apart by razor sharp winds.
A black ball of shadows hits into a Ninjask above him, Lucryn throwing his dagger from where he lies, impaling a Ninjasks wing, his senses on high alert as he takes in his situation, unaware he's opened the link between Lye, Azrael and him farther, their senses bleeding into his, allowing his scope of awareness to grow.
Azrael uses psybeam on the one Ninjask still flying around, Lucryn lying still as he can sense it. 'its over'
Lye and Azrael finish the fallen Ninjask, who without their wings to fly seem to have lost 80% of their fighting power.
Letting his eyes flutter shut, Lucryn breathes slowly, leg throbbing.
Azrael: You are strong, but that fight...you were a coward.
Lucryn: Azrael
Lucryn's eyes snap open, focusing on Azrael.
Lucryn: No leader should throw troops into the field merely to satisfy their own bloodlust.
Azrael: Slipping through the shadows isn't fit to be called a fight.
Lucryn: Then call it a massacre for all I care. I fight to live. Battles of honor can be agreed upon, but them...
Lucryn gestures at the Ninjask, rising to a sitting position.
Lucryn: they did not come at us to fight a battle of honor. They came to kill.
Azrael frowns.
Azrael: We are stronger.
Lucryn: You may fight to win. However, I fight to live.
Azrael's eyes flicker, lowering to the ground as Azrael ponders over Lucryn's words. Lucryn rises, wincing as his leg almost gives out under him. He wasn't worried about Azrael leaving him, not from this, Azrael is still malleable, it may be against his methods now, but over time he would learn. 'Learn that the world is not as beautiful as it looks.'
Lucryn: Lye, scout ahead, Azrael, continue practicing psychic.
Lye: It is safe ahead.
Lucryn walks slowly over to the branch he'd dropped, his makeshift crutch. While he didn't limp or show signs of pain, anyone else in his position with his injury would be on the ground crying in pain. Lucryn simply picks up his crutch, leaning lightly on it as he walks forward. 'Not too bad. I can still walk'
(7 hours later)
Lucryn lets out a breath, skin warm and clammy as he leans against a tree. Beside him is Azrael nursing a wicked gash on his back. An unfortunate encounter with a Larvitar.
Azrael had a cold aura surrounding him as he sat there, green hair hiding his eyes as he lowers his head.
Azrael: I wasn't strong enough
Lucryn glances over, trying to piece his thoughts together, struggling slightly as his thoughts are sluggish, body feeling heavy.
Lucryn: Being strong or weak is something to consider.
Lucryn sneezes, rubbing his head, a vain attempt to quell the thumping in his head.
Lucryn: It's how you use your strength that matters. Don't complain about your lack of strength, but in your inability to fully utilize your current strength.
Azrael: then teach me how to use it! I won't lose, not like this again.
Azrael glares at Lucryn, rage burning in those eyes. Lucryn coughs, body shivering as he rubs his bare arms. 'Should've brought a coat.'
Azrael: teach me how to fight!
Lucryn looks at Azrael, eyes wandering over to a fallen figure nearby. Larvitar.
Letting his eyes fall shut, he recalls the battle between the two. Calling it an unfortunate encounter may be wrong, rather it's what happened at the end of the battle that was unfortunate.
One minute Larvitar and Azrael were exchanging blows, the next moment Azrael was attacked from behind by a Seviper that had sprung from the ground. Azrael had fallen immediately, body twitching from the poison.
Larvitar was startled by the new arrival, but he reacted swiftly, using rock throw. Seviper avoids it, lunging for Azrael, Lucryn calling for Lye as he throws his dagger, the blade hitting Seviper right in the eye. Veering off course, Seviper thrashes around, in pain and enraged.
Lucryn rushes over, grasping Ralts with one arm and rolling to the side just as Sevipers tail buries into the ground where Azrael was.
Lye rushes out from the shadow, sucker punching Seviper right in the face. Seviper twists around, tail bashing into Larvitar, sending him flying backwards, crashing into the ground, dust flying up.
Darting back into the ground, all goes quiet, Lucryn weakly rising, eyes narrowing as he realizes his dagger is gone, still stuck in that Sevipers eyes. 'Darn it, come back here you snake!'
Lucryn: The snake will most likely not return. Be on guard just in case.
Lye nods, vanishing into the shadows. Rising up, Lucryn rolls Azrael over, taking in the wound. Sighing, he calls Lye back, asking Lye to retrieve some pecha berries he saw a while back.
Opening his eyes, Lucryn returns to the present. Azrael had recovered a tad, Lucryn debating on sending him back to the contracted space to heal faster, but he decided not to. Azrael needs to vent, and Lucryn won't be the one to deny him that right.
Glancing over to Larvitar, he sees the green scaled creature stirring. Lucryn doesn't react much to the creature rising, but his eyes do follow Larvitar as he walks over to Azrael. Azrael stands, facing Larvitar, eyes alight.
"Lar!"
"Ralts."
"Vi."
"Ral."
The two go back and forth, conversing in a tongue Lucryn can't understand. Lucryn relaxes after watching them for a few minutes, his eyes fluttering shut.
The discussion from the two fades out as Lucryn feels himself drifting off, head heavy.
Azrael watches Larvitar walk off, a roaring fire burning in his heart. 'one month and we will have a rematch.'
Azrael felt a bit giddy at the thought of a battle. Larvitar is strong, but with his humans help he should become stronger swiftly. To ensure his human wants to train him, Azrael had made a deal with Larvitar, one he figured the little human would like quite a lot.
Turning to tell his human, Azrael's eyes widen, watching Lucryn's dazed eyes roll to the back of his head, body tilting, falling to the side, hitting the ground with a quiet thud. 'little human?'
(Hoenn Elite Headquarters)
"Alright, meeting adjourned." Cynthia tiredly says, rubbing her brows, feeling exhausted. This meeting has been going on for over half a day now. A sudden meeting was put in place to discuss the contracted trainers who are becoming more and more bold. 'These newbie contracted trainers think they can cause an uprising. They better think this through carefully.'
More and more people are popping up as contracted trainers, and while that is good, not all of these people want to join the military as law dictates they must.
'These idiots don't realize what they're doing. Can't they see the reason behind all of these laws?!' Steven wonders as he rises, draping his coat over his shoulders. Lance rises beside him, stretching, muscles popping, he had been sitting far too long.
Straightening his tie, Steven moves towards the door, Lance falling into step beside him.
"Hold on Steven, you get back here!" Steven looks up at the ceiling in despair. He had been praying Cynthia would be too busy talking to others to remember. "You promised me an update."
Forcing a smile to hide his frown, he turns around. "I do believe I sent you multiple updates. One every day if I do recall." This woman wouldn't stop asking about how it's going. She seemed more concerned about how Lance and him are getting along then hearing about Lucryn, but Steven was tired of all the extra work this woman gave him. Caring for a child isn't his strong suit, and Lucryn was proving to be difficult. His skills are for the battlefield, for commanding troops, not for raising a child...
"Not the same as an in person one. Now Lance, do tell me how it's going?" Cynthia asks as the other elites clear out.
"It's going fine." Lance says, ever the stoic. "Lucryn has been very well behaved when I am with him."
"Oh, so he saves all the trouble for poor Steven." Cynthia says in amusement, Steven looking away. "Now, now, do tell, has Steven been nice to you?"
Lance smiles slightly, his noble side not allowing for him to show his inner annoyance. "Of course, Steven has been very kind."
"Raising Lucryn together is proving to be a nice change in pace." Steven intrudes, getting a nod of agreement from Lance. "However, I'm not sure we are meant to be his guardians. He needs people who can be there more often for him, he is rather...unstable."
"Oh, yes, I did read that report involving a Gallade, but I stand by my decision, you two are perfect guardians for him. Besides, what if he gets a new guardian who decides to use him since he has multiple contracted. Won't that simply make matters worse? Can you bear to see him become more unstable then he already is? Contract Trainers are valuable, we can't lose a single one, not without feeling the loss deeply." Cynthia calmly reasons.
Lance and Steven share a glance. They understood, they just couldn't quite bring themselves to fully accept the sudden change in their lifestyles. "We must be off Cynthia, Lucryn is probably wondering where we are." Steven says, the three wrapping up their conversation.
"Oh, wait, I almost forgot. Lance, Steven, I think you two should spend some time training Lucryn. In two years he'll most likely join the military. He'll be 15, he's young." Cynthia says.
The three all lower their eyes 'Way to young.' Is the only thought on their minds, but they also grew up in a similar manner. 'We didn't have a choice, neither will he, but hopefully with our backing his journey will be smoother.'
Walking out of the elite headquarters, a large building with spire roofs and an ancient yet majestic look to it, Lance taps his Z+ band, calling Professor Oliver. A holograph pops up showing the professor sporting a blackened face, as if someone threw a bucket of soot onto him. "Oh, Lance, hello, what are you calling for?"
Brushing his hair, Lance's lips twitch. The professor's hair was simply a disaster sticking all over the place, darkened at points as if the ends were singed. "Professor, did something happen?"
"Oh this? Nothing at all, just a small experiment with blast burn, trying to make the blast area wider, went a little further than my calculations." Professor Oliver laughs, rubbing his face, only smearing the soot more. "Dear me, this is quite unsightly. Is there something urgent Lance? If not, I plan on cleaning up a bit."
"How's Lucryn doing?" Lance asks, getting a blank look from Professor Oliver.
"Lucryn? Isn't he back with you two by now?" Professor Oliver asks. As soon as Lance heard that, he glanced at Steven, seeing a frown cross his lips.
"No, I messaged last night, one of your staff picked up my message and promised to pass it on to Lucryn. Said you were busy and couldn't take any calls at the moment." Lance says, trying not to worry.
Professor Oliver looks thoughtful as he nods. "I was busy last night with a project, my assistant Jen should've been the one receiving my calls. Hold on."
Professor Oliver hangs up to talk to his assistant, Steven huffing as he begins messing with his Z+ Band. "What are you doing?" Lance asks, reaching his car, leaning against the door as he watches Steven fidget.
"Tracking our child since it seems we've once again failed as guardians to ensure he is around an adult who can ensure he does nothing stupid." Steven spits out through gritted teeth, Lance shifting a tad uneasily. Steven is always so put together, seeing him like this is rather unnerving.
Dring Dring Dring
Lance taps the accept call button on his Z+ band, Professor Oliver appearing on the screen. "Jen says that she went to Lucryn's room, but he wasn't there. She found Rye nearby, another RA I have. He mentioned that Lucryn already left. I tracked his location, he's..."
Professor Oliver never gets to finish as Steven coldly says, "No need, I've done the same. Come on Lance, Lucryn is in so much trouble."
Metagross appears, Steven hopping on, impatiently glancing at Lance. Lance jolts, summoning Dragonite and quickly mounting him. "Where is he?"
"In Ichov Woods." Steven states, ordering Metagross to move, and to be quick.
"Well drat." Lance says, wondering why anyone thought it would be a good idea for Steven and him to be guardians of this wild child. 'This is a mess.'
(1 hour later)
Pale skin coated in a sheen of sweat. Raven black hair sticking to snowy skin, the ends tipped a light blue. Long eyelashes flutter every now and then as the child's lips purse in pain. White tunic is dirty and speckled with blood, ripped in places. A tiny cut is on the child's cheek, a bead of blood dripping from it. Fragile and yet the scene is so ethereal.
Azrael ponders on what more to do as his pink eyes study Lucryn. Lye had appeared, but likewise had no clue what to do for the little human. Said human is barely breathing now, heartbeat slow. Azrael understood that the human is dying, that is quite obvious, but humans are made quite differently than pokemon.
Raising his hand, he focuses, white light gathering on his hand and flowing into the child. 'Helping hand isn't doing much good. It doesn't help that I have no clue how to really use helping hand.' Azrael had seen many others of his kind using helping hand, but he never bothered to learn, preferring to focus on combat related moves. Now that's coming back to bite him as he had managed to miraculously learn the skill, but its effect is basically zero. 'Darn it, I'm not good at this!'
Azrael raises his arm, using heal pulse this time, the cut on the child's cheek healing at a speed visible to the naked eye. A while back he had learned heal pulse, but heal pulse isn't as effective against sicknesses as it is against physical wounds. Gritting his teeth, Azrael glares at Lucryn. 'If you die, I won't become strong as swiftly. Fragile human, you better not die!'
Lucryn's eyes snap open, blood red orbs tinged with gold specks roving around the area. Eyes settling on Azrael, Azrael is startled, taking a step back. 'This...why am I scared? He's clearly about to die...' However, Azrael had never been as scared of the child as he is now. Those eyes promised him death if he dared try anything. Holding his breath, Azrael watches the child rise, standing and observing his surroundings.
A sudden shift in the child had Azrael freaking out. The child seemed to fade in and out of reality a multitude of times within a minute. 'Just what is going on?'
The youth suddenly vanishes, Azrael feeling his senses let out warning cries, his fear growing as he whirls around, trying to find the child. A slender hand touches the back of his neck, Azrael going completely still in fear. 'What? How?'
Lucryn: You must never let your guard down.
The slender hand leaves Azrael's neck, Lye silently watching from the shadows nearby, the shadow ball he had been preparing to use fading away.
Lucryn: If you do, you may find yourself dead...or worse.
Azrael: What is happening to you?
Azrael uneasily watches Lucryn. Lucryn watches Azrael back, a hint of amusement in his eyes. His body fades and reappears once more. Regarding Azrael's question, Lucryn's lips curl up.
Lucryn: It is my curse you could say. Angel Maker, a very, very rare curse that only befalls the most unfortunate. I'm quite lucky, don't you think?
Lucryn is rather disoriented at the moment, his body phasing in and out isn't on his control, rather it's a loss of control that is causing this. The phasing helps him to stay present and in the moment though, so it is both welcome and unwelcome.
Lye: Angel Maker, it doesn't sound like the name of a curse.
Lucryn silently laughs at that, eyes devoid of mirth. His head is clearing up the more he phases, allowing him to think more clearly.
Lucryn: You don't think so? Perhaps in the future you'll understand the meaning of the name.
Stretching, Lucryn focuses, his condition is deteriorating quickly, the phasing becoming more evident. 'The more I phase, the worse things will get. What is the best option?'
Lye appears beside Lucryn, watching the way the child's body fades in and out of reality. 'I've never seen anyone with a power even remotely similar to this childs.' That includes both pokemon and humans.
Lucryn phases once more, body fading and reappearing. 'Still, it oddly doesn't hurt as bad as it should...level 1 isn't as bad as I remember.' Pondering over his situation, Lucryn fades in and out, sensing spreading out, seeming to take in the very space itself giving him a clear outline of everything within his surroundings. A small creature caught his attention, his body fully fading away.
Lye and Azrael look around, uneasiness filling them. 'Can't sense him at all.' How scary is that, to fully be unable to sense someone. If they were sneak attacked by someone like that, they could only pray they could survive the blow and counter attack later.
Lucryn appears a few tens of feet away from the two, hand grasping a rather small creature as he observes it in amusement. 'Cherubi, the Cherry pokemon.'
Lucryn: Tell Cherubi I want him to become mine.
Lye and Azrael both blank. 'What?'
A few minutes later, the trembling and pitiful little Cherubi cries harder. It didn't want to join this human's team, this human is too scary! 'What protection? I'll feel safest when you're not near me?!' The little one thinks, hiccuping from crying so hard. Lucryn's lips curl up, coughing up a mouthful of blood a minute later. Wiping away the blood with his free hand, he gives Cherubi a feral smile. The little one only cries harder, it's really encountered a devil!
Amidst tears, Cherubi chooses to become contracted to the human, not that it has much of a choice. 'I'll just follow this human for a little bit and then run away!' Paying the price to break the contract is worth it if it means not being near this devilish human. Those blood red eyes with golden specks are so intimidating! Cherubi's little heart can't handle the pressure.
Lucryn admires the marks on his arm for only a moment. The green coloring is quite beautiful against his pale skin, and of course his charcadets fiery red swirls are also quite breathtaking when mixed with them. Bringing out Cherubi, he takes in the summoning array. This little one had no central symbol, but a golden symbol is in the central ring. On the outer ring is five symbols, mainly green in color.
'Your name will be Cye'
Cherubi, Cye, could feel the shift in their connection, his tears growing more and more numerous. 'Who wants this name, I don't want it!'
Cye: Master, this little one will do whatever you want, please don't kill me!
Lucryn is rather amused, his body no longer phasing as much as he tries to control it. Of course, not phasing as much made his mind a little more hazy as the pain intensifies.
Lucryn: Won't hurt what's mine. Give me your little cherry.
'Wahhh! This beast is trying to kill me!' Cherubi cries harder, shaking its body, it still releases the little cherry attached to its stem. The little cherry is not its main body, but rather where it stores nutrients. Once it stores enough it can evolve, but this little devil!
Lucryn catches the falling cherry, eating it in one bite. The rich nutrients within have been refined by Cye and it's more like a fast acting medicine as Lucryn feels the sickness within his body fading, his skin becoming rosy and he no longer looks half dead. Completely entering a solid state, he no longer phases. Feeling a tad fond of Cye, he pats Cye's head.
Lucryn: I'll return this favor to you. Thank you.
Cye hiccups, unable to bear what has just gone down. 'My little cherry!'
Lucryn returns Cye with a wave of his hand. His senses still heightened from phasing so much alert him of two incoming presences. The strength of these presences has him crouching, lips curling back. The familiarity of the one presence doesn't bring him much comfort. 'They finally came.'
With a thought Lye and Azrael return, leaving Lucryn alone to face the two giant creatures that land in front of him, directly uprooting and destroying trees that blocked their way. From the back of a metallic creature that Lucryn is all too familiar with, a human jumps off, piercing steel blue eyes gaze at Lucryn with pure anger.
"You better have a very good explanation for not staying at the lab." Steven spits out, moving so fast, Lucryn can barely keep up. One minute Lucryn is walking towards him, the next moment he's in front of him, eyes roving over Lucryn's small frame. Seeing all the blood coating Lucryn, his eyes darken. "Are you injured?"
Lucryn innocently looks back at Steven. He actually felt pretty good at the moment, save his broken leg, that still hurt quite a bit. He thankfully had managed to fight off the worst of the sickness though. Thanks to that, he felt rather okay, well enough he could go a few rounds with some pokemon.
"Are you injured." Steven says again, head lowering, eyes glaring at Lucryn's. Lucryn hisses lightly at the closeness between the two. Steven doesn't back off, a silent staring contest beginning. "I will ground you, so help me, answer the question!"
Lucryn could see the madness in Steven's eyes. 'Perhaps I shouldn't have wandered off. This man is scary.'
Lucryn backs up a tad, nodding ever so slightly and gesturing to his right leg. Steven looks down, observing Lucryn's standing posture, noting how he only slightly favors his left leg. 'Shouldn't be that bad.'
Relief flickers through Steven who picks up Lucryn, not bothering to ask for permission. To hell with lesson one, since Lucryn dared to wander off he has no right to throw a tantrum. Lucryn oddly doesn't throw a tantrum, Steven glancing down at the child he's currently holding in a princess carry, shocked to see the child's eyes are closed. 'He fell asleep?'
Steven isn't positive if the child simply fell asleep due to mental fatigue and tiredness or if there's an underlying reason such as blood loss. Worry seeps into him, the relief of finding Lucryn still alive and breathing fades as the child hisses in his sleep, brows furrowing, clearly not having a pleasant sleep. Lance appears beside him, eyes focusing on Lucryn.
"Let's get back." Steven says, not giving Lance anytime to say anything. Lance only nods, the two swiftly making their way to the hospital. 'This child frequents the hospital way too much.'
(4 hours later)
Lucryn feels his mind slipping from one nightmare to the next, only after revisiting many old horrors does he feel himself waking.
"He's stirring."
"Give him an extra dose of Anesthesia."
"Yes."
Lucryn feels his connection with his body strengthening and he assesses his condition. His right leg aches, painfully so, but compared to before it's not that bad. His body is a little sore all over, but that doesn't bother him. Overall, his condition isn't bad. He no longer feels sick, which is an added benefit. Sensing someone approach, Lucryn's eyes snap open, taking in the sight of a needle approaching his arm.
Terror crashes through him.
'Give him another dose.'
'Sir, I don't think he can-'
'It hurts'
'Did I ask for your opinion?! Give him another dose'
'Stop...make it stop'
'No...no...nononono'
'IT HURTS!'
Lucryn lashes out, fingers inches from the nurses throat when he's stopped by a pink light coating his body. The nurse lets out a shriek, stumbling backwards, Lucryn's breathing speeds up as panic consumes him. Light steel blue eyes appear in his vision. "Calm down."
The voice is steely and commanding, Lucryn panicking even more, his arm starting to warm as he feels his pokemon stirring, sensing something's wrong. The pink light holding him in place fades, Lucryn falling towards the bed. Recentering his body in a second he flips off the floor and lands by the open window. Not thinking much on it, he jumps out of the window, a pink light coating him as he does so. Finding himself staring at metagross. Lucryn hisses, he should've figured, after all Metagross is too big to fit inside the room, so of course he'd be watching from outside.
Lucryn is forcefully returned to the room. Standing at the window, Lucryn curbs his bloodlust, trying to get his together. Within the few seconds that had passed since he woke up and attempted to jump out of the window, he had somewhat comprehended his situation.
"Idiot! This is the thirteenth story, you think you can just jump out of a window and be fine." Steven yells, getting up and into Lucryn's space. Lucryn bares his teeth, his canines visible. "Don't do that, you need to start thinking about what you're doing. You have damaged your nerves due to carelessly moving around on that leg and you could've died had Lance and I not found you!"
Lucryn flinches at the fierce tone, backing away slightly, body lowering in both unease and a show of submission. Steven doesn't seem to see the tinge of fear that flashes across Lucryn's face, launching one verbal attack after another at Lucryn. By the end, Lucryn is fully pressed against the window frame, head lowered, eyes wide as he stares at the floor. 'He will hurt me.'
Lucryn flinches greatly as a hand presses against his head, his inner fear and desire to fight warring with each other, and so he just stands there. "Don't be so foolish next time."
"Wow, you really let him have it. I don't know if that was good though. I don't think guardians should yell at their child." Lance says, Lucryn only now realizing Lance is in the room. Glancing up, he notes that the three of them are the only ones in the room, everyone else had cleared out.
"He could've died!" Steven spits out, Lucryn lowering his head once more. A part of him wonders why they haven't just injured him already to express their anger, but he's also relieved not to be in extreme pain right now.
"True. Lucryn, you must let us know when you wish to journey anywhere with numerous pokemon that could harm you. You need to start thinking about others more. Remember, what you do effects everyone around you. Even if you don't care that your hurt, others will. We care..." Lance trails off, seeming unsure of how to finish that sentence.
"We are your guardians, we don't want to find you dead in the woods." Steven states, voice softening as he says, "I'm rather fond of you, finding you covered in blood...I was scared."
'Who am I and where am I?' Lucryn briefly wonders, thoughts wandering towards hallucinations or drugs. No one cares what happens to him, that knowledge was painfully carved into him. If someone does care, it is only due to something that could benefit themselves. 'I am a pawn to others, disposable. A tool to be used. So what do they want from me?'
