Megamind couldn't believe it. He had married Roxanne at last. It had taken him three months to get up the courage to ask. But it had finally happened. Now he stood there in her apartment holding his black suitcase as he watched Roxanne get ready to leave on their honeymoon.
Roxanne is trying to stuff to many clothes into her suitcase. "Megs" she proclaimed. "Can you help me get all these to fit!"
Seeing she was having trouble, Megamind drops his suitcase and scurried over to help. his mouth dropped seeing just how much stuff she was trying to bring. "Do you really need all this garbage?"
Roxanne stares at her blue man dumbfounded. "It's not garbage!" she huffed as she stuffed in even more garments. "A lady has to keep up her appearance."
Megamind rolls his eyes, he plants one foot on the floor and the other on Roxanne's suitcase proceeding to zip it up eith all his might. and to his surprise he's actually able to shut it. "there, now that that's over with let's hurry up so we don't miss our flight." he picked up Roxanne's suitcase as well as his own and heads for the door grabbing the car keys on the way.
Roxanne glanced around, Satisfied that she didn't forget anything she heads for the door locking it behind her. she placed the key under the doormat not wanting to lose it while she's in Italy, That would not be pleasant. she turns and heads slowly down the stairs carefull not to trip in her high heels.
Megamind had just put the suitcase's in the back of the car when he looked to see Roxanne coming down the stairs. He smiles as he watches her beautiful figure heading straight towards him. He was at last with his true love, He couldn't believe things had gone from him kidnapping her to marrying her.
Noticing that he's staring into space, Roxanne stops next to him. "Megamind?" she asked concerned, "Is something bothering you? Your stairing at nothing."
Snapping out of it, Megamind turns to look Roxanne in the eye. "Nothing, I was just thinking." He stammered as he began to climb into the car. "We should get going."
Roxanne was a little concerned. She climbed into the passenger seat of the car and watched as her blue alien started the engine. Was Megamind just thinking? if something was wrong she new he wouldn't admit it. But this was supposed to be the happiest time of there lives! So she figured maybe she should ask again to make sure. "Megamind" She said stairing him in the eye, "Are you sure you dont have something you would like to tell me about?"
Not noing what to think, Megamind just froze in silence. Its true that he was just thinking, About how he used to kidnap her. But that was behind them now, and he didn't want to possibly triger her any unpleasant memories. Not wanting to drag out the silence any longer he looked at her and said the only thing he could that was technically true. "Ehhh, I was thinking that your beautiful." He turned away and shifted the car into gear ready to pull oit of the parking lot. Hoping he had said the right thing.
After buckleing her seatbelt, Roxanne turned to Megamind and replied "Oh, You mean you were checking me out and just dont wont to admit it?"
Megamind glanced at Roxanne with a disturbed look. "I was not, What makes you think that?" he said as he buckled his seatbelt and put his foot on the gas peddle.
Roxanne laughed as the car left the parking lot. Then she spoke again. "because of the way your acting silly," She said.
"You know im not good at communicating normally Roxanne." Megamind said with a sigh. I didn't exactly have what you would call a "normal" childhood." He said sadly as he lowered his head and shoulders a little while still focusing on the road. Old memories came flowing into his oversized mind. How he had spent nights in jail as a child, Cold and alone. He was always an outcast Left alone in the corner and forgotten. While everyone else had friends and family who cared about them. He had know one exept minion to keep him company.
After a short moment of silence past, Roxanne spoke. "Im sorry you were treated badly back then." She said with compassion in her voice. After a moment she continued. "Im sorry for what i said a minute ago, it was stupid. I shouldn't have dragged it on when you said you were just thinking."
Megamind took a deep breath then smiled. "its alright, its in the past now. But today is all about our present and future."
Roxanne smiles back, Glad that Megamind wasn't upset with her and didn't say anymore about her dumb reply to his forst statem.
The unlikely couple of two different species picked up a better subject and continued chatting as they drove to the air port on that beautiful sunny morning in Metro City.
They arrived at the airport with two hours to spare, Leaving them with plenty of time to get through security before their flight.
Megamind turned off the car. He starched, then got out and walked over to the side of the vehicle. He hid the keys in a secret compartment so that his minion could find them when he came to get the car.
Both Roxanne and Megamind opened the backseat doors on either side of the car to get there suitcase's. After shutting the doors they started heading for the airport entrance about a hundred yards away.
Roxanne was exited that they would finally be on there way. She had dreamed of this day for years, and now it was a reality. She smiled as she put her arm around Megamind's shoulders then turned and kissed him on the cheek as they walked.
Puting his arm around Roxanne's shoulders as well, Megamind smiled. He had not been this happy in a long time. He had finally gotten a chance at normal life. He didn't have to be the bad guy anymore.
The two of them found themselves at the entrance. The automatic doors opened as they stepped inside. People were everywhere. Megamind hated all the noise. He didn't like being in crowds and getting stared at. He figured he might as well get used to it. In Italy know one would know who he was and that would make him get a whole lot more stares.
Seeing the check-in, Roxanne grabs Megamind's arm and pulls him into the line.
"Gah!" Megamind jumped in shock. "Why did you do that!" He said half freaked out. "You scared me."
Glancing back at him as they waited in line, Roxanne made direct eye contact with her blue alien. "Sorry Megs," she said. "I didn't mean to."
Megamind's green eye's stared into Roxanne's beautiful face. He took a deep breath, then sighed. "Its alright Roxie." He said with a look on his face that told Roxanne he was thinking of his past again. "Its just..." Megamind continued. "I was only pardoned by the government a few months ago; And the last time someone grabbed me like that I was kicked on the ground and handcuffed."
Roxanne put her arm around Megamind and pulled him close. "Its alright now." She said as she hugged him. "Just like you said. It's in the past, it doesn't matter now. What matters is the present."
Looking around, Megamind noticed that he and Roxanne we're making a seen. But at that moment he didn't care. Roxanne had leaned in to kiss him, and he kissed her back. After a few moments she slowly pulled away. But by now everyone wasn't just looking at them, they all had there camera's out too. Megamind glared at everyone. "Put your camera's away you savages!" he snapped.
When all the people realized that Megamind was greatly disturbed by then taking his picture they all turned away, minding there own business.
If this was how people react to him in Metro City. Just how many more stares and people taking pictures was he going to have to deal with in Italy? Megamind had no idea, and didn't want to think about it anymore. He just turned back to Roxanne and started fiddling with his suitcase handle.
Seeing that the person infront of her had moved. Roxanne tugged Megamind up to the front desk with her.
Megamind stood in silence and let Roxanne do all the talking. His large mind went into deep thought again. Was it right marrying outside of his species? He seemed very similar to humans, But was he similar enough? What if he was preventing Roxanne from ever having a family. Was it possible for him and Roxanne to have a child together? Only time would answer his questions.
After checking into their flight, Roxanne picked up her suitcase and motioned for Megamind to fallow as she started heading for the bag check line.
Megamind flashed back into reality. He picked up his suitcase and followed Roxanne through the crowded airport. He knew that she knew what she was doing; After all she had been there before.
Roxanne stopped and stood in the back of the bag check line. Seeing Megamind had stopped by her side and set down his suitcase, She put her arm around him. "I love you Megamind." She whispered in his ear quiet enough that knowone else could hear.
Putting his arm around her and pulling her close, Megamind kissed Roxanne softly on the cheek. then he whispered to her. "I love you to Roxanne." He said as he smiled one of the happiest smiles Roxanne had ever seen from him. It wasn't a mischievous or evil grin, but a smile of true happiness.
Roxanne smiled back. she didn't care he was an alien, or that he was blue. She loved him just the way he was. she was glad that he had left evil in the past.
Time went faster then Megamind had expected. soon his and Roxanne's bags had been checked and their boarding passes showed. Now it was only the wait to board the plane that remained. Then they would both be on their way.
Seeing a few chairs neat the flight of stairs leading towards the awaiting plane. She sat down and put her suitcase on the floor in front of her legs.
Megamind sat down next to her and plopped his suitcase on the floor by his feet. He leaned on Roxanne's shoulder and put his arm around her. "That dress looks really nice on you Roxanne." He said smiling as he gazed into Roxanne's beautiful eye's. "Most any man would have liked to have you, but you chose me."
Roxanne smiled back looking into his charming green eye's. "I will always love you and knowone else." She said softly but firm. "I could search my whole life and never find anyone else like you."
Still gazing into her eye's, Megamind replied. "Im glad you feel that way Roxanne." he said softly. "Without you I would never have realized that being evil wasn't my true destiny."
Roxanne put her arm around Megamind's lean shoulders. "Im glad you turned good," she said softly. "I had secretly liked you a long time before you turned good. And by the way, when you disguised yourself as Bernard, I knew it was you the whole time."
Megamind laughed a little. "Yes I figured that." He said between snickers. "Back then it was a big deal if you found out who I really was. But now it's just funny."
Roxanne and Megamind enjoyed sharing laughs and old memories. Time passed. suddenly they heard a voice over the loud speaker. "All passengers for flight nine A, your plane is ready to board."
Megamind got up from his seat. He stretched then grabbed his and Roxanne's suitcase. "Well Roxie." He said. "That's our flight. we should board the plane right away."
Roxanne picked up her suitcase and followed Megamind up the long flight of stairs to the plane's entrance. "Were finally on the way Megs." She said excitedly as she slowly continued to climb the stairs.
Reaching the top of the stairs, Megamind sighed as he turnedto face Roxanneas she finished climbing the stairs. "yes we are... I just have a bad feeling about this." He said concerne. "It just doesn't feal right leaveing metro city without a defender... And not even taking the de-gun with me."
Roxanne put her arm around Megamind's shoulders as they walked into the plane. "Don't worry about it." She said reassuring him. "It'll be fine, Minion is still there to look after things."
Megamind sighed. "I am worried Roxanne, if something happened to minion's suit he would be very vulnerable." he said before walking down the ilse. finding his seat he sat down and motioned for Roxanne to join him.
Roxanne came and sat down next to Megamind, She buckled her seatbelt knowing she would have to do it soon anyway. She wondered why Megamind was worried about leaving Minion and Metro City alone. She knew he could be sensitive and had to be careful what she said to him. What if he was just paranoid? But then again maybe he had some sort of sixth sence that told him thing's? or maybe it was just that big head of his could think to fast for it's own good. Roxanne just pushed it all out of her mind, she assured herself that nowhere could go wrong.
Megamind was so tired he had fallen asleep just minutes after sitting down. After all he had not gotten any sleep the previous night. Roxanne went ahead and buckled his seatbelt for him knowing that the plane would be taking off soon. Roxanne leaned back and closed her eyes. It was a ten hour flight, so she figured she might as well get comfortable.
