Katara felt her cheek and running down was blood...her blood. Something had cut her cheek but the only thing she felt past her by just then was just a gust of sudden wind.

"This can not be as Aang is the last Airbender because he is the last Air Nomad," Katara said.

"That makes sense and does not make sense at the same time," Mai said

Now Katara was as confused as Aang and Yee Li had been just a few moments ago.

"Zuko is not a Sun Warrior correct," Ty Lee asked her

Katara nodded at this

"So all Sun Warriors are not Fire Nation citizens but both can be considered Firebenders" Mai added

"I am a Fire Nation citizen but became a Kyoshi Warrior and they also have helped Zuko out despite being Earth Kingdom citizens," Ty Lee said

"What does this have to do with how Aang was not cheating on me with his fan club" Katara asked

"How about when you thought that you were the last waterbender of the South Pole," Mai says

"I did then I learned that there was another and well thanks to her I now know bloodbending" Katara said thinking back to Hama.

It was then explained to Katara that Aang had his own version of Hama, a non vengful version that did not mistreat everyone that was Fire Nation because Fire Nation. An Air Nomad that was not wiped out with the rest of them. But in addition to Hama, there were countless others that were just related to Air Nomads. As having four temples spread across the world the Air Nomads traveled between the other three nations far more often than the other three races ever did.

"All Air Nomads are Airbenders" Katara told them

"So Sokka is not your brother or a member of the Southern Water Tribe" Ty Lee

Then she was present with how what she said was true but that only applied when two Airbenders had kids. Not when an Airbender had kids with another bender and/or a non bender. Just like how Katara was the only bender in her family because apparently bending had skipped a few generations before showing up in her. Airbending had either skipped a few generations or could not be detected in non Air Nomads because their airbending could easily be mistaken for weaker versions of earth and/or water bending. With airbender of Fire Nation descent probably wiped out first and foremost, with that probably being something Sozin took care of. He made sure his own people were cleared while waiting for what is now called Sozin's Comet after his genocide of an entire race.

"Yee Li is a direct descendant of an Air Nomad and was the first one that Aang discovered. Sure they started out as his fan girls but turns out they were all airbenders to different degrees" Mai said.

Katara then questions why would not Aang just announce this to the world the moment he discovered this. It was not something that he should have kept to himself all this time.

"If you think Azula was trouble as a firebender. Try imagining her with the exact same level of skills and mind, when she was in her right mind, as an earthbender. She would have an element with less weakness. She would not need to create fire as it would almost all be around her and her main elemental counter would be limited to just one person anywhere close to her level. Now what if there was an airbender like that...oh wait there might just not be an evil nature one. However, there was an avatar that so feared, that was an Airbender shockingly enough. This led to there being no real problems for her time and the one after that. We probably could imagine this ourselves because Aang is our only example of an Air Nomad. However, Aang aware of this did not want an evil, dark, or rouge airbender to be raised/created somewhere" Mai informed.

Katara does not tell them how they found Aang's Airbending Master, who is possibly close to Iroh's age, surrounded by the dead body of a lot of Fire Nation soldiers

"Aang learned early on that those in his fan club have a higher chance of being airbenders than most. Something about that side of them being drawn to him as the only Air Nomad/Airbender they have known. Sozin did a really good job wiping out both Air Nomad and their culture almost completely to the point where we know what one is but that is it. Seemingly girls around his and well your's plus those a little older. The reaction to their airbender side being drawn to Aang causes them to be fan girls without realizing why. After all the most devotee followers he has been once those that were his biggest fan girls" Ty Lee said

"Yee Li is a unique case where she is still a fan girl but at the same time his right hand as they are rebuilding Airbenders as bending group instead of as a race," Mai said.

They then revealed Aang had told the two of them all this recently which is why they know all this. That he was keeping this from them because they were all too deeply connected to those in place of power amongst the other nations. With Zuko literally being the leader of the Fire Nation after all, thus they were kept in the dark for the safety of those that had yet to be found and placed under his protection along with their family and close friends.
