Magic Beyond Worlds Chapter 2 - The First Hop-Day, an amphibia fanfic

Ruby and Stella were brought to the Weft family's house, they were given a deal that if they help the Weft family with work and help them find this magic necklace that contains secrets, then they'll let them stay for as long as they want. Ruby and Stella agreed, but only if they also help them find a way out of there and information about the music box.

It was a sunny, but mostly moody day, Ruby woke up. Her back hurting since she had to sleep on the hard ground. She didn't mind it at all, though as long as Stella was comfortable, she was okay with it. Stella then woke up shouting after a dream?

Stella: "Gasp...!! Guys, I just had the craziest dream where we got sent to a creepy frog..." Clover was the room holding 2 plates of food. She smiled and laughed,

Clover: "World?" She finished the sentence for her.

Stella: "Never mind.."

Clover: "Good morning to you two, you guys slept for quiet a while, must of been drained out after being out there for a while. For your first day here, I'd like to at least get you guys comfortable here with, us?"

Ruby: "That's nice of you to do." said Ruby. The two took their plates and started to eat. Clover got curious about the music box, she wanted to know how they got there at least.

Clover: "So, how did you two come here in the first place?" Clover said. Suddenly Stella jumped up,

Stella: "The others! T-The music box.. That's right.." She looked at Clover and calmed down, she sat back down and started to explain, "Me and Ruby, well- my friend, Anne. It was her birthday yesterday and we went to this park. But the music box that she got, it sent us here after she opened it.." She said. Ruby put her hand on Stella's shoulder,

Ruby: "We'll find them. Don't worry, with the help of these guys it should be fine." said Ruby. They both smiled at eachother. Clover noticed and went towards them a little bit.

Clover: "I see that you two will do anything to protect eachother, but most importantly about what you just explained. What did you guys do when you first got here?"

Ruby: "Oh my gosh. Before we even met you guys it was actually 2 days we've been in the wild."

2 Days ago..

Ruby: "Sigh, Nothing to eat. And we've been out here for..,"

Stella: "Two days, Ruby. Gosh, it feels like a dream.. Are you real?"

Ruby and Stella looked down. They both sighed and got up. Ruby crossed her arms and looked around. She saw a pile of, what it looked like, food. She went up to it, and nervously grabbed them putting them to her mouth. Ruby ate the food and smiled. She shouted to Stella as she walked to her. She held the food right in front of her face.

Stella: "Ehh, what? You want me to eat that?"

Stella: "Okay," Stella grabbed the piece and ate it. She smiled and gasped, "Finally! Food! Gosh I've been starving. Thanks for that!"

Ruby: "Mhm! Oh, by the way, I wonder if we should look around for.. a place- or a town! Y'know?"

Stella: "Yeah we should! Come on let's—"

They both stopped as they heard something in the bush. The bush was moving and sounds of what sounded like a voice was heard. Ruby quickly went in front of Stella and stood her ground protecting her.

Suddenly, a newt came out of the bushes.

??: "Good grief.. How long until I get too.. Newtopia?.." The newt looked at both Ruby and Stella.

Ruby: "Oh look, it's just a.. NEWT!? WITH LEGS AND CLOTHES!??"

The newt dropped his belongings and fell to the ground and looked at the two. Seeing them he freaked out quickly.

??: "M- MONSTERS!!?" He quickly got himself back up and started to run away screaming for help,

Stella: "No wait!! Come back we need your help!!" Stella reached her hand out. But the newt was far away from them already, far away for them to catch up to them. Stella sighed and sat on the ground.

Stella: "Great, now what do we do?"

Ruby: "Second thought, that newt looked friendly.. And hopefully a good thing is that we should probably follow it. It most likely did come from a civilization."

Stella: "Okay.. yeah we should. Maybe we could get help there at least. As long as they all don't freak."

Ruby helped Stella up and they looked into the dangerous woods.. Stella gulped and held Ruby tightly. They started walking into the woods as they would never expect the sudden surprise..

Ruby: "Annddd, that's pretty much what happened to us at the start of here. Just trying to survive in the wild."

Clover: "Oh, that's terrible.."

Stella: "Yeah it was... Oh! Sorry for this sudden question, but about our deal yesterday, I am ready to work and help!"

Clover: "Well that was quick.. About this. We do need help for today. Come on girls."

Stella and Ruby nodded. It was almost as of doing chores again. Clover lead them outside to where their little garden was. Clover told them that it's not just potions and what not, you could also use plants like vegetables. Ruby seemed a little interested, she likes the idea of learning about magic, but mostly the history of amphibia.

Stella and Ruby started helping, they watered plants and picked some out. They helped Clover clean up along with Dolores and Rocky. Dolores looked at Ruby and Stella and asked them if they could talk in private. Stella and Ruby agreed and went to the front of the house and sat on the ground at the steps.

Dolores: "You guys seem really friendly and you haven't really hurt the others. I just want to apologize for what happened yesterday."

Stella: "Oh!.. It's alright, you shouldn't feel bad I mean, if we saw you in our world we probably would've trapped you guys as well!"

Ruby: "Stella! That's not the best to say."

Stella: "It's true though!" She started to laugh. Dolores also laughed a bit. She agreed that the same would happen. The three then gave a small hug and went back to helping out Rocky and Clover.

As they went over, they all saw Rocky grabbing multiple vegetables and plants. Stella pointed it out and Rocky explained that it was for some potions that Clover was going to make and sell later. Stella got excited as Ruby got worried a bit, however she was excited as well. They all went inside and saw Clover going into her supply.. work room. As Dolores and Rocky have them a hand that it was okay to look, Ruby and Stella went to Clovers room. They knocked on the door as Clover opened it, she smiled and asked what they were looking for,

Stella: "Not really anything. We just, wanted to see what your making?"

Clover: "What I'm making? Well, I'm making a potion of, water breathing!"

Ruby: "Water.. breathing?"

Clover: "Yes! I have water here and a bunch of other stuff that I need to make just the right thing."

Stella then asked if she could help out Clover, Ruby tried to stop her but Clover reassured them that it was alright. Ruby calmed down and explained that she'd go outside for a bit. Stella then grabbed a book that Clover pointed out. They opened it and started to read the instructions as Clover started to use the ingredients.

Stella: "So, uhm. What do I put in now?"

Clover: "Grab that glass of water. That should be the last thing to use for this."

Stella: "Huh? Just regular water.. in a cup?"

Clover: "Well, that water actually came from a very spec-"

Stella: "Okay!"

Stella then poured the water in to the cauldron

Clover looked at Stella and laughed a bit. As they then stirred it to mix it all up fully. There it was, a big smoke of blue was in the air. As the smoke cleared, they both looked into the cauldron, they saw it. Clover smiled in excitement and grabbed a empty bottle. She slowly poured a bit of the mix in and then gave it to Stella. Stella looked confused and asked why she gave it to her. Clover explained that they were now going outside to their stand. Stella remembered what Rocky said and nodded to her.

As they went outside and got the stand ready, they saw Ruby surrounded by frogs, newts and salamanders. Stella freaked and ran towards the area. The other newts, salamanders and frogs freaked seeing Stella.

??: "There's another one of you things!?"

Ruby: "Hey! That's my sister your talking to!"

Clover came running over and tried to calm the others down. As they all did and asked Clover, Clover sighed and stood by Ruby and Stella.

Clover: "I'm assuming that John warned you guys about the.. beasts?"

?: "Yes? So what, are those things the beasts he was talking about!?"

Clover: "Yes, well.. Do not freak, but they are harmless! They are humans. I had these two in my house for a night and they helped around, they are just like us. Trying to protect themselves."

??: "Are you sure about that?"

Clover: "Yes." She said. The crowd then started to surround Ruby and Stella with questions. They freaked as Clover got in between the crowd and calmed things down.

Clover: "Everyone, please- just GIVE them some space."

The crowd got scared a bit and backed away listening to Clovers needs.

Ruby: "Damn right you give us some space.." said Ruby. One of the newts came out and waved to Clover,

Elliot: "M- Miss Clover! Would it be okay if I could talk with Dolor- No-! The two, humans?" he pointed. Clover got nervous and announced the town to continue their jobs and activities for the moment. The crowd left in disappointed as Elliot stuck by to talk with Clover.

Clover: "Really sorry, Elliot. But we have to go back and do our work for now, but in the meantime later or tomorrow you could!"

Elliot: "Oh... alright. Thanks Miss Clover." he said. Ruby and Stella were on the other side of the water fountain and were laughing at a few jokes. Clover walked up to them and placed her hands on the two of them and explained that they had to go back and continue work.

Stella: "Awh, really? That's fine.. Oh, nice meeting you Elliot!" They waved at him leaving back to the house.

Elliot waved back smiling but sighed right after,

They were back at the house. Rocky was inside cleaning the windows and getting lunch prepared. As for Dolores was outside watering the plants making sure that they are at least okay for the day. Clover went back to her room as Stella and Ruby sat outside on the porch.

Stella: ".. Hey Ruby."

Ruby: "Yeah?"

Stella: "Do you think we'll find our friends.. or Ethan? So you think we'll make it back home?"

Ruby: "... I don't, I really don't know. But in the meantime we should at least get ourselves comfortable here for a bit. And do what the Astrals say and help them."

Stella: "Yeah, yeah! We should be alright."

Ruby got up and gave Stella a kiss on the head. She went to the door and waved to her and went back inside. Stella sighed and pulled out a photo of her and her friends,

Stella: "Sigh.. I hope you guys are alright..."

It was the almost sunset. Stella was still on the porch sitting down, watching and dreaming of her and her friends reuniting. Rocky looked through the window and was watching her. He was interested in what she was doing. He went to the door and came out, as Stella quickly hid the photo in her pocket and looked back at him. Rocky sat down by her,

Rocky: "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. Just wanted to check in on you, since your sister is the only one inside... are you okay?"

Stella: "I.. I just miss my friends.. We've all been separated except for me and Ruby. Just for that, I know that they are here and I need to find them."

Rocky: ".. Well I never had friends before. I'm glad you have some people to fight for."

Stella: "Oh.. .. Thanks but, why don't you have any friends? Sorry if that's a rude question.."

Rocky: "Nah, it's alright. I mostly don't have any because. Okay, you know how I did that healing spell on you?"

Stella: "Yeah? What about it."

Rocky: "That was a baby move." he said.

Stella: "Wait, what!?- No, that looked epic in my view,"

Rocky: "Well it wasn't for me," said Rocky. He held his hands out and took a deep breath in, "My magic isn't that strong, Dolores and Miss Clover are. That's also why, the other kids my age make fun of me. Some don't but others do."

Stella: "Really!? Well they have no right in doing that. I mean, that's just like me when I had to hunt for the first time. It was not beautiful." She voiced dramatically. Her and Rocky laughed at it as they looked back at the sunset.

Rocky: "Thanks for listening to me, Stella. Others don't really wanna here me talk about my interests and what not."

Stella: "Oh, that's not nice of them. I mean, hey, you don't have to worry about that anymore."

Rocky: "W- what do you mean? Stella I don't like it when people leave the conversation like that..."

Stella looked unimpressed and laughed right after at him. She grabbed his arm and pulled him in closer. She giggled and pointed at him,

Stella: "You know what I mean? I'll be your first and best ever friend. Even though we just met like a day ago, that doesn't matter. I'm sure this friendship will, blossom!!"

Rocky had a glimpse of light in his eyes and starting laughing. He hugged Stella back and kicked his legs, back and forth.

Rocky: "Thank you Stella, you really mean it though right?"

Stella: "Yes, I do. Pinky swear."

Rocky: "I don't know what that means but okay!" he said. They did a pinky promise and smiled.

Rocky: "I'm glad we're going to be friends now!"

Stella: "Me too dude. Just want to see you happy now." she said.

After a bit, Ruby walked out from the door and saw Rocky and Stella talking about some stuff. She smiled and went behind to the of them which scared them. Ruby apologized but then looked at the two smiling,

Ruby: "Well I see you too were having fun, glad you two did. So what, you guys friends now?"

Rocky: "Not just plain friends, were BEST, friends!!" He aimed at the sky jumping.

Stella giggled as Ruby pat her shoulder. After a bit of the three talking now, Clover called for them to come inside. The three quickly got up and Stella offered to carry Rocky on her shoulders inside. Rocky liked the idea as they did do it after.
