CHAPTER 5: Would you like to see her?

Griffin point of view:

After lunch we show our parents the comments. They seem discouraged, that´s when we tell them we have a solution for this mess.

"Time traveling?" Dad stares at us in disbelief. "That´s ridiculous, guys."

"More ridiculous than a ghost making our lives impossible for weeks?" I fix my eyes on him. "It´s true, dad!"

"So, you´re saying that the radio is a time traveling machine that can take us to the past?" My mom asks.

"And the future."

"We´ve been there!" Topher exclaims. "And what we saw gave us the motivation we needed to fight the ghost!"

"Toph, stop it!" Jess looks angry.

"He´s telling the truth!" Harper tries to convince her. "Remember when we used to disappear for a long time? We weren´t only in the bunker, we were time traveling!"

"And where did you go exactly?" Jess crosses her arms and stares at us with a stern face.

"1990." Harper and I answer at the same time.

"The first time we time traveled," Harper begins, "we didn´t know how the radio worked. It took us to 1990." She looks at me, waiting for approval. I nod, so she keeps going. "We saw you, mom, and you too, Mr. Campbell, at Camp Tremont."

"That´s why we started with the questions about Savannah." I add.

"Oh my God! I can´t believe it!" Mom holds her head with both hands.

"Do you believe them, Sarah?" my dad asks.

"Don´t you? That explains a lot! It explains them vanishing from the Earth, their obsession with Savannah, the camp, and Griffin finding out you and Savannah were friends without you saying it!" she chuckles. "Besides, after that ghost scaring me for days, I could even say I believe in unicorns."

Great. Mom believes us. Now it´s Jess and dad´s turn.

"We noticed you were sad about it, dad, so we figured out what happened and fix it. For you to get rid of the guilt."

Dad and Jess are completely astonished.

"What do you mean you fix it? Did you save Savannah?" he stares at me waiting for an explanation.

"She didn´t need to be saved! She disappeared because she time travelled!"

"How did you find out about that?" Jess went from disbelief to curiosity.

"We time traveled over and over again, following both of you and Savannah."

"You are saying you talked to Savannah…" dad guesses.

"Yes." We both reply.

"She´s really nice!" Zoey says.

"She helped us fight the ghost!" Topher adds.

"Was she here?!" Mom stands up. "So, the girl on the video is really Savannah?!"

"She is!" we shout.

"Unbelievable…" Jess stands up too. "You know what? I want to be mad at you…" she points at us "Well, I am mad at you, but… you time travelled to make things better, so, thank you."

"Yeah, thank you." Mom smiles. "Anyway, before we time travel to make this girl delete the video, I would like to be sure time traveling is safe. Right, Ben?"

My dad is still sitting on the chair, staring at the wall, caught up in his own thoughts.

"Ben?"

"Dad!" Wyatt hits the table, making my dad startle.

"Yeah, yeah, you´re right." He mumbles. "You know… the day of the reopening, I seemed to see Savannah…"

"Was she wearing red?" I ask.

"Yes."

"It was her. Would you like to see her?"

He stares at me wide eyed, as if what I just said was the craziest thing ever. It´s clear he wants to see his old friend. He glances at Jess, and then at mom. I don´t know why he´s taking so long to answer.

"Dad!" I insist. "Would you like to see her?"
