Chaper 52:Your Not The Only One
Back inside the academy right now everyone was watching something play out on the screen. That being pyrrha who was apparently slaughtering everyone at the garden centers ceremony tonight. As none of them could even believe what they where seeing right now
"God dammit…dammit! I knew that sending you to the opening tonight was a terrible idea"ironwood stated
As right now pyrrha was still sobbing right now hugging herself. With everyone doing their best to console her as dawn was nuzzling against her trying to make her feel okay. As even dusk the grumpy cat did his best as he was a small kitten sitting in her lap. But she covered her face loudly sobbing aloud right now
Robyn stood their sighing rubbing her face on what just happened tonight
"James chill out…god dammit. It seems this was what their plan was since jacque lost the court case"robyn said
"It has to be. I'm worried our shipments are going to become under attack right now"elm mentioned as johanna was reading her scroll right now before getting some text from scotty silently cursing to herself
"Dammit…scotty texting me that mantle residents are attacking nearby convoys for the supplies. Even with the recent grimm attack its not helping with how things are going on down their"johanna mentioned to their disappointment
"Just…great…everyone in mantle is freaking out because of that…doctried footage"cardin said as yumi was working on the footage right now. She managed to figure it out it was fake along with it being heavily edited as she studied it for a moment typing quickly on the holo computer. As next to her was asani assisting her the best she could
"Well from what were pulling from the CCTV footage. We might get our answer soon"asani commented

Robyn sighed rubbing her face"james we need a dam plan. Because that psycho down their killed some of my people. You better have an idea for this right now"she demanded as artemis was their suggesitng something

Caine rubbed his head in shock staring at the general"james…are you actually considering leaving all of mantle to die. We…we need to tell them"he stated
The general sighed"if we do that now mass panic will ensure. We…need to focus on amity right now. If salem forces are here they plan to sabotage it and we risk falling to grimm before we reunite all of remnant right now"ironwood said although an idea came to ruby mind right now

We can send someone to mistral and havan we know people on their council. could get in contact with ghira and they can bring the faunus of menagerie to aid us again. We already have forces mounting up for a defense in shade. We send a small party to mitral and menagerie….we can get help without going into martial law"ruby explained as her mother stood their for a moment going wide eyed

"That we can't let her divide us. We need to stay together and work as a team. If we start playing into her game she'll win. Our first plan of action would to be focusing on protecting the citizens of mantle and atlas. We take down rosemary and figure out a way to tell the public about amity and our plan."oscar said firmly

"I got a hit. Seems someone hacked into the security footage and the mantle security system. Its an easy system any hacker could access…maybe were dealing with the same one who hacked beacon"yumi suggested
"Watts….arthur has always been one to be a tech savant. Its obviously him he did help design the security system along with dorian"will mentioned
"Thats our guy….i can start running a system check and use my own programs to clear it out of any unknown firmware. "Yumi said typing away as pietro sat down joining her as the two of them got to work. But as they did velvet glanced at pyrrha with worry as she seemed like her boyfriend on that night on menagerie
"Hey pyrrha you okay?"velvet asked as the red head stared at her before breaking free running away from them with tears visible on her face
"Sis wait!"rogue called out but she was gone as hariett sighed stepping forward

"Shes with my wife she collapsed in the middle of her art show. Shes getting a check up on her right now before anything happens. Although…tomorrow is the schnee gala for its new board of directors."mariana mentioned as they forgot about that
"Oh no….i gotta go help set that up tonight. I'll explain to my mom what happened but leave the important details out of it"weiss said
'Agreed i'll come with dear"Caine said as they all split off to complete their task for the night. With yumi, pietro and asani working hard on the security footage
Meanwhile with zane he was busy trying to find pyrrha right now. As he used his grimm pets to track her down. Although dusk wasn't being that helpful instead just sleeping ontop of his head meowing occasionally as he sighed
"Come on buddy. Can you not be so lazy"zane said to the grimm as from his perspective it talked
"I want to take a nap….that dumb robot made me fall from the sky"dusk said as he rolled his eyes
"Your a puddle of snot you could have surivved that. Heez your a grumpy grimm"he joked making the grimm hiss at him slightly for that joke. Though with dawn the grimm kept sniffing around on the ground before its nose got something as she turned to him
"Master i smell the pretty lady in red hair this way"dawn said barking as her tail wagged as he motioned her to lead the way.
The dog did as they quickly turned a corner to reveal what pyrrha was doing right now. As she was quietly sobbing to herself in the corner of the academy halls after what happened last night. This worried him seeing this side of her because he never really saw her cry at all in beacon.
As he walked over dawn rushed over as she booped her nose on pyrrha thigh. This startled her a little as she jumped but he decided to calm her down
"Relax nikos its just me and my fluffy little friends."zane said reassuring her a little but she still stayed balled up right now wrapping her arms tight around her legs
"Oh right….do you um…need something"pyrrha asked rubbing her eyes to make it look like she wasn't crying. But he sat down next to her placing dusk inbetween them. They stayed silent for a moment as he sighed
"Look…i know that your very emotional after what happened last night. I would be too since well we are pretty much in the same boat right now"Zane said as she looked upset
"Your right…guess me and you will be hanged by the people of atlas. Everyone probably views me as a monster now"pyrrha cried but he shook his head. He whsilted for dusk to do something as the cat listened. He waddled up into the red head lap before snuggling up against her purring to get her attention
It worked as the red head scooped him up hugging him with both arms gently as she needed to hold something to calm down. Then he cotninued
"Look….i experience the worst of it back in menagerie. When i got their alot of faunus…hated me they wanted me dead. Heck we haven't really told you or anyone else about this but uh….well my mental state at that time wasn't the best. Because i heard everyone call me a monster, a freak…a murderer"he begun
"What does this have to do with me?"pyrrha questioned
"I'm getting their….after we had a fight on if i was dangerous or not i didn't blame them. I got hung that night…and well….i hide in the woods. At the time i felt like i had no one who cared about. That i'll be viewed like a monster the rest of my life. Because i eventually got thrown into a cramped barrel and drowned to death."he continued startling her a little hearing that but kept silent as she listened
"I thought that no one wanted a monster around. But….i was proven wrong because their were people that cared about me. Who didn't view me as a monster and wanted to prove to everyone that i wasn't. Right now my sister and yumi are going through the footage they found it to be fake. Rosemary must have killed all those people to sway the public opinion to hating you. You carry half the fall maiden powers…they might..this is just pseuclation. Try and ransom you off to keep them safe"he continued before dawn walked over laying by the red head feet as he finished
"That won't happen…jaune…ren…nora they won't let you get hurt. You are you and will always be you. Don't forget that don't let people make you believe your a monster. Your pyrrha nikos"he finished wisely
The red head sat their quietly contemplating his words surprised that he could talk like this. But she sat their staring at her grimm arm for a moment seeing the monstrous apendaged she has. Though she thought about how everyone immediately believed she didn't do it. As she swallowed hard snuggling dusk slightly smiling a little
"I your right….i…really needed to hear that right now"pyrrha said as a voice in is head spoke up
"Well aren't you a wise monk. Seems those talks we had in the woods were beneficial"bane said as he was about to respond
"Ummm whos talking?"pyrrha questioned suddenly as he stared at her for a moment before dusk looked up at her
"Can she understand us?"dusk asked as his tail swayed making th red head stare at him
"Did i just hear him talk?!"pyrrha questioned as dawn panted titling her head licking her hand

"Maybe though uh….thank you for this"pyrrha thanked as he didn't mind as they decided to return to the others for a night of rest right now
Back in the secret base rosemary right now was happy to have slaughter several people but she was eneraged right now. Because she missed out on the opportunity of the lifetime to get revenge for her father killers. That was to kill that eria girl sister and see how she likes it when she loses a loved one
"I almost had her! If that whore didn't get in my way i would have sank my blades into her skull!"rosemary cried out in rage throwing a tantrum like some toddler right now. As dorian sighed rubbing the base of his skull
"Rosemary be a dear and head to your room. Your mother is on the line"dorian said peeking her interest as the girl sprinted off to talk to selket. Once she left bonnie sighed in relief
"God that girl….i see that our plans are working. Since the general has extended the curfew to a shorter time right now"bonnie suggested as a current news broadcast explained how the mantle curfew got extended for a far early time with arthur smiling seeing that

"Shut the heating grid down in mantle and we can cause riots which will attract large amount of grimm. Love it"faraday said eagerly at the idea with lec laughing at it smiling
"Ohhh my teryx will be having a grand time. It might even unfreeze a few of them from their icy prison"lec said eagerly as the man laughed slightly as he apporahced something. That being a test tube containing someone in a bodysuit their was only one as he examined it humming. It was one of their subject for project phoenix as he smiled
"When will project shriek be ready?"Arthur aksed as dorian looked at his notes sighing
"He still has not undergone the surgery. I'm planning on transferring him to vacuo to assist flora and her cult. Their she has the facilities to perform it."dorian said to his disappointment
"How disappointing…i wanted to use him to say hello to some friendly faces. Since we were successful in bringing back nikos whats one more. One more face to torutre them and make them hesitant to kill"Arthur said as he walked away from the tube to continue the next part of his plan that will be soon set in motion as he anticipated it.
It was a shining new morning over the kingdom of atlas and mantle. As everyone was reeling from what happened that night during the opening. With everyone in the academy awake right now hanging out at the apartment complex close to the academy to eat breakfast. But they were being told who pyrrha can understand now
'You can hear them talk?"Eria questioned surprised pointing at the two grimm pets. June was their humming to herself stroking dusk fur as she didn't seem scared of pyrrha or her uncle at all. As the grimm cat meowed loudly
"Whats the kitty saying?"june innocently asked as pyrrha stared at him
"Her hands are sticky…its inside my fur….it hurts"dusk whined to her startling her hearing him speak still
"Well uh…take it easy and go wash your hands sweetie because umm…you got fur on you"pyrrha pointed out with june lifting her hand up to reveal fur stuck to her hand as she waved it around to get it off. Diaz sighed walking over taking her to get clean up. Once he did dawn was licking ruby hand
"So you can understand grimm….like all grimm or are these the one you control?"ruby questioned
"I…don't know….maybe well i can't even think of a reason"pyrrha admitted as bane was in control of his host for now

But as they did oscar was suddenly stopped by clover as he had a hand placed on his shoulder
"Oscar the general would like to see you right now to discuss some things. Possible on something to wake oz up"clover said to his surprise with summer eavesdropping close by as she stepped forward

About an hour later inside a convoy right now as lazuli, adam along with may and velvet. Their was also perun along with a few spartans driivng the caravan. While they did they passed by mantle citizens all staring at them yelling right now. All of them ranging from death threats to them threatening to storm the vechile
Velvet looked outside the window as a glass bottle was thrown at the window startling her as she yelped falling onto the floor of the truck. Bonnet was their noticing her on the ground
"You get starteld kid?"she asked as she nodded picking herself up
"I did….i never expected mantle to be like this. I can't believe they tricked everyone into beliving pyrrha would kill someone"Velvet said not even beleiving it
"I know right. I've known pyr all my life pretty much and she doesn't have a mean bone in her body"perun said
"Except when you mess with her friends or family"he added
"I wouldn't blame her though what do we intend to do with the rioters if they try to…."Adam paused on the words staring at his sword which all of them figured out what he meant by that
"Were not killing anyone. All we need to do is figure out the best course of action to resrain them"may argued
Lazuli rubbed her arm nodding"yeah believe me killing someone is not a pretty feeling even in self defense"lazuli replied

Their truck kept driving through the streets of mantle right now with the citizen throwing glass bottles and bricks at them cotnisounly. Though on a nearby rooftop watching them drive through the streets where vice vest gang members along with kncukleduster memebrs. The two gang set aside their difference as they worked togehter
"Is javi and his boys all set up down the street?"the mobster asked
"He is….time for a light show and halt their little project"the knuckleduster said pulling out a detnator as he flipped a switch on it making it start to blink
Once that happened back down below where the truck was infront of the truck something started to blink. As someone placed a bomb underneath the truck as they where none the wiser. The bomb kept blinking and blinking faster before denating
This caused the truck to be launched into the air as everyone insdie the truck was thrown all over the place. The truck tipped to the side as it flipped compeltey onto the top of the truck sliding through the street.s mantle residents got out of the way as the truck crashed right in the middle of the street
Once the truck had crashed emering from a nearby alleyway was javi pastel who smiled as he lead members of his gang foward as he hoped on top of car pointing a bat toward the truck
"Here we are folks! A chance of the lifetime to see what atlas is hiding from us! Go and get em!"javi shotued as the crowd cheered rushing foward at the truck for the suppiles
But inside the truck right now lazuli groaned rubbing her head pulling it back to reveal blood on her hands. She must have bashed her head in on the truck ride. Studying her surroudning she noticed velvet unbuckled on her seat as her and may where okay. Along with perun who just got free of his seat
As for the theif boyfriend he was okay as bonnet groaned sitting up rubbing her head
"Damage report?"she questioned as two of the spartans in the truck spoke up
"Were good ma'am but the drivers are KIA dam bots are trashed. "The sparatan replied
"What the hell was that….are they planting bombs in the streets or something?"may questioned rubbing her head stnading up wobbling a little. Because she might have gotten a concussion from the truck being flipped over
But as they sat their trying to think of a plan soon the glass could be heard cracking. As they glanced to see mantle ciitzens hitting the glass window of the truck with a bat trying to get in to their shock
"Crap their trying to get in….what do we do?"perun questioned as bonnet thought for a moment sighing
"I'm authroizing the use of electric dust shots along with rubber bullets. Make sure to not kill anyone here"bonnet ordered as they nodded with the two soilder loading in rubber bullets into their clips. As velvet digitized wunderwuff asani telse gun as she was ready.
Then adam and bonnet reached the door before kicking it open kncoking the mantle civilains down from the door. Once they where outside they saw a small group of antle residents trying to swarm their covnoy right now for their suppiles but bonnet shoved one of them back riaisng her guanlents
"Step back now! I don't want to have to shoot one of you"bonnet ordered as the others pilled out with their weapons drawn as this caused them to become anger
"Screw you freak lovers! Bring those two abominations out so we can kill them for the people they killed!"a mantle reisdent shouted
"The miltary is lying to us! Why do they need so much supiles!"another shouted
"Give us back our food!"another shouted with several more saying the same thing. Thougn eventually a glass botttle was chucked into adam skull as it shattered into small piece
"Eat that you dam terrorist!"a faunus civlains said making him back up hearing those words. Becuases he been trying his best to make himself not be viewed like a monster but he visable back up on that
As they were all in the middle of a standoff right now telling everyone to back off. But soon enough from a nearby rooftop a vice vest member took aim at them with their sniper rifle to cause some mayham. As they took aim from behind someone attacked them as they shoved them to the ground
This someone was choka as she was in her bodysuit. But the two struggle resulted in the sniper going off as a loud shot filled the area. This cuased the civlians to slwoly start to scatter as a few tried to attack them. But velvet dodged one of their strieks spinning kicking them in the jaw sending them into the side of the truck
Another tried to pucnh perun but he blocked it with his guitar. As he channeled into it charging an eletric shock which shocked the citizen enough to immbolize them as they fell to the ground knocked out
They all began to fight them but lazuli noticed someone familiar in the crowd. That being javi pastel as she went wide eyed
"Its javi pastel! I'm going after him!"lazuli said planting her feet using her speed semblance to chase him down. As velvet noticed her running off switching a familiar rope dart tossing it foward as she zoomed off after the two.
Javi noticing this smiled as he booked it down a nearby alleyway. The two of them gave chase as they went after him. Their chase led them into an allewyay as javi turned a corner stumbling slightly as he was about to sprint
But he was tackled into a wall hard by lazuli with her semblnace as she planted her arm into his throat. Javi grunted as velvet caught up with her twirling the rope dart staring at him
"Guess we caught someone that will be useful"velvet commented
"Yeah….maybe use you to nab your little brother you sold out to those grimm freaks. Your a terrible older sibling"lazuli said which bothers the man as he snapped at her
"I never wanted lec to become one of those dam monsters!"javi shouted which caught them by surprise hearing that he never wanted him to become a grimm knight
"Your lying….your a two bit gangster and…your trying to stall before he comes here"velvet argued but he stared at them for a moment sighing
"I'm not lying…god i….my little brother was hospitaled with same diesease that took our mother. Why the hell would i risk his life at a chance of him becoming some dam monster"javi said as lazuli studied him for a moment recalling something sora told her. How it made no sense why javi would work with people who trotured his brother….that he would kill them if they layed a hand on him
Surrpsingly she retracted her arm from him to velvet surprise as he held his throat
"Your…are you punking us right now pastel? Becasue if memory serves me right you used to be good friends with lil miss till well…eight years ago"lazuli mentioned as velvet understood what she was implying
"Wait…are…are you being forced into this?"Velvet asked as the man stayed silent for a moment nodding
"Yeah i…when pyre contacted me one day saying saying she found my baby brother. I…i knew it was too good to be true. But i…when i saw him they twisted my little brother into a monster. God i..i know i'm a terrible person…but i wouldn't wish whatever messed up shit they did to him on anyone"javi said beofre staring at them for a moment
"Can you save my brother?"he asked as the two stayed sielnt for a moment as lazuli sighed
"He would need to wear a collar on his neck the rest of his life"lazuli said as he was fine with that
"I'm fine with that…i…i suggest you watch out for a spy within your ranks"javi said startling them right now hearing they have a spy
"I…whos the spy?"velvet questioned demandily before footsteps could be heard apporaching them with the sound of soilders being heard. The two stared at each other then at javi then lazuli nodded to him

As they apporahced a statue of man made of marbale along with having a musucalr physique to him. While in his hands was a staff it seems as ironwood apporahced a slot on the staute. Moving the slot he inserted the snowflake as it began to glow bright with a hue resmebling an icy blue color
This surprised oscar as suddenly the floor beneath them started to move catching him offguard as he figured out what this was an elevator.
"What the…"oscar said in surprise as they descned down the elevator to their deisnation the atlas vault.
The elevator traveld for a bit but it led to something. That being a platform it seems as they were arrivng in a caveran from the look of it. Crystaline strucutres lined the walls of the cavern decorating it in an chilling tone. While their was a metal palyform with four white pedstals that are decorated marbal colums. And atop each pedestal is a bowl contianing a blue flame.
But as their elevator reached the bottom of the platform acoss the entire area oscar noticed something. That being a large crystialine strucutre with white platforms that seemed to containa door. That door being a rectangular patter on its surface situated on a high metal platform. But inside of it was something
That being a golden ornamented staff with a blue spearheaded cyrstal on the top. It also features smaller crystal on the bottom as this was the staff of creation
"The staff of creation….its still here"oscar said in surprise
Ironwood chuckled"i hoped that bringing you down here could job ozpin out of his rut. Since well it was his idea to use the staff to lift atlas off the ground"he mentioend which confused him on that relic being the soruce of atlas power

"Actually its the oublic story. It reality oz figured out the staff had a limiltess energy source. To tell you the truth its proabbly what inspired yu for the amity project james"summer replied as he nodded
"It did though unforutnaly we can't use the staff to riase amity. Its a one time thing for its use and we need to do things the old fashion way. With dust and all"ironwood replied as oscar was amazed that he helped riase a entire city

"Though it seems someone managed to talk me out of letting luancy take hold of my mine. If i delcared amrtial law…maybe you were right. That the entire kingdom would fall. We need to hold onto what humanity we have left."ironwood said
As oscar continued like someone was guiding him"because if we lose that humanity were no better than salem. If we lost our hope and humanity their will be one outcome our descturction.
