You read the text at your desk and your eyes go wide in shock; your partner had dumped you. You'd been dating them for 13 years and they'd even proposed to you, now they were leaving you and they'd done it through text too! An anger that you didn't even know you'd possessed came out and before you knew it, you'd just completely lost it. You tipped your desk over and knocked all your files off the desk, sending them flying in all different directions. You heaved and sobbed anxiously like a child, this feeling was so overwhelming and all you wanted to do was hide. You're in such a state that you don't register that Olivia has stormed into the Squad room and is laying into the Detectives who are laughing at you and calling you crazy.
"This is unacceptable! We are a family here... how dare you... how dare you all laugh at Y/N rather than help! Why didn't you come and find me?! All of you can get out and do some work instead of laughing at the poor kid!" You hear her snarl and you just fall apart more, hiding under the chair and covering your face, childishly hoping that if you just stay there then she won't make you come out.
"Y/N?" Olivia cooed, gently lifting the chair up and moving it out of the way so that she can get to you. You flinch away from her and just sob anxiously into your hands.
"It's all gone! It's all gone Liv... everyone's gone! Please..." You wail and she just scoops you up into a hug whilst you kick and scream, your arms and legs flailing about whilst Olivia just holds you effortlessly against her. After about 10 minutes or so you calm down enough to wrap your legs around her middle and cling to her neck, you're not going to let another person leave you again.
"I'm here, sweetie. I'm here... come on, let's go to my office!" She cooed and gathered you even closer to her and made her way into the office, closing the door behind you both and drawing the blinds closed. She sits you on her lap and you fall apart more, all you want is to feel safe and loved! Something that you haven't felt before, it was so overwhelming how many people had left you! You began to think that you were the problem.
"Now then, sweetheart. What's going on? I've never seen you so upset before! You can tell me... remember what I said? This room is a safe place and no matter what is said in here it'll never leave this room, ok? There we go... that's it good job!" She cooed when you begin to just cry it out, Olivia always said that crying it out was better than keeping it in.
"My partner's left me! How could he! Just before the wedding... I've lost mom, dad, my brothers, sister and now him! Everyone's leaving me Liv... no one loves or cares about me! Why do they hate me? Why..." Olivia cuts you off by giving you a huge cuddle, one of her big Mama hugs that make you feel so safe and secure. You often think how much better your life would've been if you'd had her as your Mom.
"I've got you, honey. I am so sorry... it's them not you, you don't deserve what they've put you through! I'm here... I'm not going to leave you, it's ok!" She soothed and pressed kisses to your cheeks, you felt loved and heard for the first time in a long time.
"He just ended it with no warning, Liv! I'm meant to be marrying him in 6 months! It hurts, my heart physically hurts!" You burst into tears and she holds your head to her chest and rocks you back and forth, she gently placed her hand over your heart and keeps it there.
"I'm here, sweetie! He doesn't deserve you... Y/N, you are beautiful, loving and kind! You have so much to give..." She keeps you safe in her arms as you fall apart, your heart felt like it was being ripped in two.
"Then Mom, Dad, my brothers and sister died and just left me! I wish I was dead, Liv! Because this hurts too much..." You sob so much that you can't breathe and Olivia just picks you up in her arms and walks out of the Precinct all together.
"Come on, baby.. let's go home!" Olivia soothed softly and you cling to her neck, all you want is for her to make it alright; nothing feels right anymore! She puts you in the car and climbs in, driving really quickly back to her apartment and to your safe place.
"They're all gone... everyone's gone!" You tearfully exclaim, allowing Olivia to pick you up and carry you into the house. You allow her to hug you tight whilst you cry out, it just hurts so badly!
"The world is a much better place with you in it, baby!" Olivia cooed, placing you down on the floor and wiping your tears with her thumb. You just lean into her and hiccup, all you want is her love.
"Y/N? Would you like to go and take a hot shower? I'll make us some dinner... you like mac and cheese right?" Olivia said softly and you nod your head, she begins to show you where everything is and tells you to take as long as you want. She leaves you to it and you have a nice hot shower, the warm water cascading over you and soothing the aches and pains of the day away.
You're in there for around 40 minutes and come out, smiling ever so slightly when you see what clothes she's left out for you; her oversized NYPD sweater and some jogging bottoms. You put on the clothes and brush the fabric against your nose, it smells of Olivia! It smells of her perfume and that always comforts you. You head out and into the kitchen, watching as she dishes up massive portions of the cheesy pasta.
"Hey honey!" She brushed a kiss to your forehead and gave you a quick squeeze. She hands you a bowl and gestures for you to sit on the sofa with her, she allows you to cuddle up with her under a duvet and she turns on some Netflix show that you don't even watch, all you want to do is stay here with Olivia. You both eat up, you're surprisingly starving after letting out all your emotions...
"I'm so proud of you... thank you for telling me how you've been feeling! It takes so much courage to do that..." She whispers and gathers you to her chest, gently stroking your hair and whispering sweet nothings.
"Liv? You'll always be here, right?" You whisper and she places a kiss to your head and rubs your back. She pours all the love that you should've received into those hugs and kisses.
"Always my darling! You're stuck with me for life, Y/N!" She whispers softly and keeps you in her arms where you're safe. You both just stay like that until the early hours of the morning, until Olivia realises the time and shoots up gently.
"Come on, honey. Let's get some rest, you must be exhausted!" She cooed and you nod, gently following on behind her. A childlike feeling washes over you and you blush, gently holding onto Olivia's hand.
"Liv... would it be ok... could I please sleep in your bed?" You blush more and she gives you the biggest, most loving hug that you've ever had and kisses your cheek.
"Of course you can, Y/N! Here let's get you into bed... you've been up for such a long time..." She whispered lovingly, gently pulling back the duvet covers and helping you into bed. She tucks you up and presses a kiss to your forehead before climbing in next to you, you move closer to her and she pulls you to her chest.
"It's ok, love. Just close your eyes... I'm here! I'm here..." Olivia rubs your cheek with her thumb and you close your eyes tight, you were finally safe! Here in Olivia's arms and you knew that she wouldn't let anything bad happen.
"Don't leave..." You whisper a final time, a small grin etched on your face as you drift to sleep and hear what she says next, you were loved! She loved you!
"Mama's got you!" She whispers when she thinks you're asleep. That's when you knew that you had a family! A family who actually gave a damn and bit by bit she was fixing your broken heart.
