Kaiyu is Chuntao's daughter. She has pink and black skin, black spines down her back, and green eyes. She fights using a steel sword with a golden Chinese dragon painted on the blade.
Kaiyu was born to Chuntao and Dai-Tai after they got back together. After getting arrested and breaking up again, Chuntao and his daughter are sent to prison. Kaiyu managed to befriend some of the kids of the villains imprisoned. She helps them escape to the Valley of Peace where she worked with Serpent with his dance performances. After helping ward off wolf bandits, Kaiyu is given a mystical sword by a blacksmith as a thanks. Later, Kaiyu is accepted into The Dragon Knights.
Kaiyu is shown to be comical, friendly, and a little dim-witted. She can also be a little feisty and hot-headed but always apologizes to an ally if she hurts them. She also hates any types of injustice or meanness.
Kaiyu is best friends with Serpent, acting as his assistant and prop manager.
Kaiyu has also formed a friendship with Nyla as shown fighting side by side with her.
Kaiyu loves her father dearly and sometimes writes to him while he was in prison.

Kaiyu's name means "Construct the Universe", a hint at Kaiyu's creative nature.
Kaiyu is the only child of a villain who had contacted her parent in jail.
