Here we are…peak once again. Hopefully we could get further in this time with no genderbend metal clones or those clowns after the flame. But i could feel like we're being watched. Entering peak through the main gate. The city was clean. Too clean. Like no ones been here in years to make a mess. But none of the rot of time that you would expect from an abandoned city. It's creeping all of us out. Clearly someone or something has been keeping things pretty. But who or what?
The shrubbery was clean and bug free. The plaques are like new. After regrouping. We talked about what we found and as titania said. It's like this place lives in a hazmat suit. No people no bugs. It's a complete ghost town. Yet no signs of usually abandoned places. Nothing is rotting or decaying or covered in dust. Going further into the city would be a problem due to that damn debilitating field. But that's not our goal right now.
Considering we're here for the whole day and night. We need to find two things. A place to act as a main base. Someplace to warn the others in case trouble comes knocking. And secondly records. Something written to give us an idea of what the hell happened here.
"No…your going to leave. NOW! You've grossly overstayed your welcome. You've broken one of my windows. You've mishandled my gate. And now you're dirtying my roads. Leave or i'll remove you!" a voice yelled. Titania grabbed onto her head in pain. Clearly getting a headache.
"Sorry mystery voice…but that's not an option." jack said.
"You won't leave?" the voice asked.
"If you know what we've been doing you'd know we've done nothing but fight. Did you really think threatening us would work!?" jack yelled.
"We're not going anywhere until we get what we came for…so do your worst!" david yelled in defiance.
"I thought as much…but cleaning up is always such a bother." the voice said.
"Eww! Gross gross gross!" evelyn yelled as liquid pyrobsidian began to move forward. Peach was ecstatic about the research possibilities but that didn't last long as the pyrobsidian fused together to become a big blog of metal with a big mouth.
"What the hell is that thing!?" david asked.
"It doesn't matter! Kill it!" i yelled. The pain in titanias head means she's out of the fight. After about twenty minutes of attacking it. We were getting nowhere. Every bit of damage we did. It would regenerate. If we wanted to kill this thing it would have to be done in one mean punch. And luckily team jpde had a girl that specialized in that.
"Hey jack! How much kinetic energy you got?" i asked.
"Quite a bit. Why?" she asked.
"Because i got an idea…i want you to throw me high in the air!" i yelled.
"Wh-why!?" jack asked.
"Just do it!" i yelled. Jack nodded i put my foot in her hand. And she used the kinetic to throw me high up right above the creature. I charged armads as i fell coming down on the creature. With the energy plus the speed of falling gave my attack an incredible amount of energy and when my axe made contact with the creature. It caused a massive explosion reducing the creature to ash.
"Holy shit kai! That was awesome!" evelyn yelled.
"Couldn't have done it without jack's help." i said as i tried to stand up only for my legs to be jelly. When i did. I could feel the presence of someone. My vision turned bizarre. Everything was gray and dark team jpde titana peach and amber were blue but i could see someone i couldn't before. It looked a little girl flying on a staff. I grabbed a hold of her. And that undid her invisibility.
"Got you! Are you the one who sent that metal thing after us?" i asked. The girl had white hair pale skin and bizarre marks going down her cheeks. She was also wearing a black dress. She had a look of shock on her face. Which turned to look of anger as her eyes went black.
"Who are you?" the girl asked.
"The girl who's going to kick your scrawny ass if you don't tell us what your playing at!" i yelled the girl threw some more of that living pyrobsidian stuff at me. But i quickly destroyed it all with a well placed zionga. "No more metal girl. Start talking!" i yelled as i dragged her in front of the crew.
"Who is that?" jack asked.
"The little shit responsible for sending that metal beast at us. Now start talking. Who are you and why are you trying to stop us!?" i yelled.
"...i wanna headpat." david said.
"Oh my gods. So do i!" evelyn yelled.
"Focus idiots!" i yelled. Only for the girl to disappear. "...dammit!" i yelled. I sighed. After that. We checked up on titania in the clinic. Seems like her body was trying to take itself apart. Most likely the pyrobsidian was trying to become a part of that monster as well. She managed to keep herself together. But she's got a wicked headache right now. But some good came from this. As the clinic was chosen as the main base. At night penny was talking about how thankful she was to meet her team to david. How happy she is and not wanting to go back to how she was before meeting them. Even if kary doesn't like her new relationship. About how she's not pure anymore. David was quick to defend himself saying that it was mostly evelyn's fault. Which is true. If evelyn didn't get involved. Penny probably wouldn't even known about a lot of the stuff evelyn talks about. But also about how scared she was for titania. She saw what was happening to titania's body. And it scared her. To die like that. David pulled her into a hug.
"I won't…i will never let something like that happen to you…or evelyn or jack or titania or professor peach or amber…or kairudo." david said.
"I can protect myself. But I appreciate the sentiment." i said as i was reading a comic ruby lent me.
"...do you promise?" penny asked with a blush on her face. The two sealed the deal with a pinkie promise. "Umm david…could you stay with me tonight?" penny asked. I knew where this was going. So i left the clinic and headed for an hotel that was across the street.
"Where you going kai?" jack asked. I turned to see her in new threads.
"New threads? Nice." i said. She was wearing a black jacked over a grey hoodie shirt. Along with blue jeans.
"Can't spend the day in the clothes i fought a giant slime monster in no? The clinic has running water and electricity too." jack said.
"Right. Well. jack and penny are getting freaky in the clinic. Thank the gods titania is out cold thanks to those painkillers. As for me. I'm heading for that hotel across the street. One good thing about being in a ghost town. Getting a room in a hotel is easy considering nobody else but us is here." i said.
"right…you think i can join with you in that?" jack asked. I shrugged.
"Go ahead. I don't want to be in the same room as horny lovers either. At least not during bed time." i said. Both me and jack laughed before entering a three bed room. One for me. Jack. and amber. During the night i noticed jack leaving the room. But i was too tired to care. Jack's a strong girl. She can take care of herself.
The next morning came around. I'm thankful the dark squirt didn't try anything late at night. But i could feel that those clowns after david where here now. But there the least of our problem as there was something in the water. Something very big. Everyone readied for battle. But the metal monster this damn…was a lot bigger than even i expected. This time…it was a goddamn metal dragon this time! It can't regenerate like the blob could. But it dosen't really matter when we can't get past it's hard as hell skin. Like whacking away at a suit of indestructible armor. But just like the blob. You just got to hit it hard enough. And luckily jack has quite a bit of kinetic energy built up.
"Jack! Same thing as before. Except this time throw me at the neck of that thing!" i yelled.
"Kairudo you crazy bitch! I hope you haven't eaten anything today!" jack yelled. She used her kinetic energy to throw me at the metal dragons neck at horribly fast speed. I spun around making my axe into a spinning saw blade. And it worked my axe sawed through the dragons neck. Decapitating it. I landed through the railing of the water it came out of. I did it. But my stomach didn't feel good. I went to one of the shrubs and vomited on it…this one of my stupidest ideas ever…it got the job done. But I'm never doing it again. Oh gods this must be what going on a roller coaster after eating ten corn dogs must feel like. After covering the shrub in puke. I regrouped with everyone.
"Here ." professor peach said as she handed me a bottle of water and stomach medicine.
"Thanks." i replied as downed the medicine and the water. However david got hit with something flying at alarming speed.
"Oh no! Is it an enemy attack!?" penny asked.
"Not exactly" amber said as she walked up to us. "I seem to overshot it a little." amber said. I noticed that the little witch from yesterday was what flew into david. She's clearly trying to punch him. But all he has is a look of confusion on his face. She may have magic. But she has the physical strength of a child. She finally got up and back onto her staff.
"MY NAME IS JANARA, YOUR A BIG MEANIE AND I HATE YOU! AND I SPECIFICALLY HATE YOU TWO!" janara yelled as she pointed at me and amber.
"Hi again." amber said i just grin and wave. I saw someone coming from behind her. I pushed her out of the way and slashed my axe at her attacker. It turned out to be howard.
"Your quick demon of vale." howard said.
"Leave or die." i threatend.
"I'd like to see you try." howard sound as he transformed. Into a oppel. A grim that looks like a giant pig bat. Problem is. I've killed quite a few on my travels. So taking him down didn't take very long.
"Shit!" howard yelled. As he turned into a fly and tried to fly away. But I grabbed him.
"If it's hostile. You kill it." i said as i crushed the fly. Killing howard. I sighed. "One down." i said.
"You…protected me?" janara asked.
"We're not your enemies…there's something here we need to find. Help us find it quicker. And we'll leave your city be." i said.
"Fine…you've got a deal…but one condition! I want to see what's outside of peak." janara said with a smile. Looks like we have another titania…we have another insider of peak. And thus the investigation has ended until janara will spill some more info. Until then. It's back to beacon.
