The Celestial Huntsmen Lord

And for those that have long since been following my Celestial Lord series, here's the last one as we start this new adventure.
After surviving the schools initiation, the members of team RWBY and JNPR were eager to start their first day at school as official huntsmen and huntresses in training as the group of friend finally made it to class with but a minute to spare.
"Already students gather around, I know it's the first day of school and we want to keep it easy with our introductions, but we still have a lot of ground to cover" said Professor Port, before a TA entered his classroom.
"Hello there, how can I help you" asked Professor Port, "Pardon me Professor, but this came for you directly from the headmasters office" said the TA as he handed a note to the teacher of this class.
"Thank you. Students, I should say first year students, you are all to report into the schools training room, dressed and equipped with your huntsman gear, and wait for until further instructions, you are hereby dismissed" said Professor Port as many of the first year students began to murmur and rabble amongst themselves.
"Whats going on" asked Yang, "Who knows, could be something serious" said Blake, "Maybe they're going to switch us up from our current teams and fit us with teammates that better suit us" said Weiss as she would still rather have Pyrrha by her side and as a leader than having to deal with Ruby.
"I hope not, I was starting to like my new friends and leader" said Nora as she not only glomped on Jaune to prove a point, but proceeded to give him a bear hug of his life.
"Nora… can't…." wheezed Jaune as his was starting to turn blue, "Nora! Please put Jaune down, we're not gonna switch teams" pleaded Ren as Nora let go of Jaune as he fell to the ground like a sack of potatoes.
"You alright Jaune" asked Ruby as she and Pyrrha helped him back up, "I'll be fine, thanks" said Jaune.
"Still I can't help but wonder why they called us out" Pyrrha said out loud as she and everyone would split up and change into their gear pondering what's with the gathering on the second day.
Elsewhere
Standing outside by the docking bay was headmaster Ozpin sipping on his mug of coffee as he patiently waited for Glynda to bring with her all the first year students that were attending this year as he let out an exasperated sigh.
It all started shortly after he returned back from announcing and naming the teams for the first years and their leaders as he got a notification from the vault that contained many of this worlds secrets and history that only he and he alone knows about, with an exceptional few.
Upon making his way down to the vault he entered into a room that was dark and empty, except for the artifact in question, which was in fact an old smartphone from centuries ago that had stopped working when it's previous owner died, and even though it remained charged it refused to turn on, much less unlock until yesterday.
Grabbing the delicate device, Ozpin took it with him and made preparations for this very day, henceforth why he not only called his students, but had Glynda debriefed and ready for them today, regardless of how they feel.
Turning his head, Ozpin saw Glynda leading his students to him as he patiently awaited them.
"Ozpin, we're ready to leave" said Glynda, "Excellent, students hop aboard, we're going on a little field trip" announced Ozpin as one by one he saw his students boarded on.
Upon reaching their destination, Ozpin had gathered his students before him as he had to fill them in on what's to be done and what he expects.
"Students, I know you have a lot of questions and are confused as to why I suddenly call you all the way out here, so let me ease your worries and explain everything to you" said Ozpin.
"Right now, we stand outside a temple that I myself have crafted to suit the sole student who's worthy for this" explained Ozpin as he lifted the smartphone as he began to hear jeers from his students.
"Trust me students, there's more to this little phone than there appears to be on the surface, for he/she/they who manages to survive the 4 Celestial Trials, will be granted with the title of Celestial Lord" explained Ozpin.
"Professor Ozpin, forgive me for speaking so bluntly, but are you mad, I mean this all sounds rather abysmal" asked Weiss, "And I don't disagree with you, so let me start by sharing with a story from long ago, or rather a Legend" said Ozpin.
"About 300 years ago, there existed a soldier clad in garnet clothes and armor, their name was…, silly me I forgot his name, anyways, what was known about him was that when he was your text book hero, who was actually blessed by the Shepherd of Fire, and yet he never hid this knowledge from anyone, and yet made it clear he was here to help, and he did for many years by himself, until one day he crossed paths with an equally powerful, and benevolent, wizard as the 2 fused their power together, whereupon he was blessed with the title as the Celestial Lord. However due to his signed pact with the Shepherd of Fire, he knew his life was on the clock as his soul will soon to be collected from this very world, so with the powers vested to him as a Celestial Lord, he summoned an army of maidens to push back an evil witch and her army, along with the Grimm into the far corners of the world, but the more maidens he had summoned, and the more powerful they were, the shorter his time was at this world. Before he could lead one final coupe, and deliver us from the terrors of Grimm, he was now weak and dying slowly on his death bed, but before he left this world he had this to say, 'Fear not, someone will take my spot, and they will do so without the fear or burden that I have carried, and be remembered as the true and new legend of the Celestial Lord'. With his last breath slipping out his mouth, his friend, the wizard, carried with him this magical device in hopes that what his friend hope will in fact be " explained Ozpin.
"Professor, are you to tell us that phone right there-" asked Pyrrha, "This phone miss Nikos is in fact the very phone used by the first Celestial Lord" said Ozpin.
"How can you be sure of this Professor Ozpin, I mean it's just a legend right" asked Ruby, "You will come understand that some legends are more than just fairytales miss Rose, but more on that later for everyone present, and then some whoever becomes the Celestial Lord" said Ozpin.
"I got a question, you said we weren't in danger of being taken by this Shepherd of Fire, but what else is there, I mean what's the benefit of becoming the Celestial Lord" asked Cardin as he asked a great question.
"The benefit of being the Celestial Lord is that besides being able to have the power to hopefully lead us through our never ending war against the Grimm, which in itself should lead you to fame and glory, you got an entourage of beautiful, cute, or even sexy forever young maidens by your side, who will come and cry to your every beck and call" explained Ozpin.
Needless to say hearing this got a lot of people excited since who can say no to having a harem of their own without trying.
"Ooh, things are about to get heated up" Yang said eagerly as she began to crack her neck, "That goes without saying" said Nora as she was more excited to make some new life time friends.
Really if you were to see how everyone was reacting, you can see that the boys of team CRDN are howling like horny wolves, Yang and Nora were ready to flex and look even more badass, Weiss wasn't hiding the fact that this act would immortalize her, Blake was low key blushing at the thoughts of having her own harem, Ren remained stoic on the outside, while stressing over such a responsibility on the inside.
"This is going to be so great, I mean, yeah this is the first time I'm hearing about the Celestial Lord, but just imagine of literally being able to bear the responsibility and power that must have come with it" said Ruby.
"I would have to agree with you Ruby, it does sound like a huge responsibility and opportunity to be and do some greater good in this life" commented Pyrrha as she knew the words her were spoken in truth, but a part of her wants nothing to do with it as she's been burden with such responsibilities as it is.
"I don't know, don't you guys think it's a little sudden" commented Jaune as he got his team and sisters teams attention.
"I mean, we haven't even started our first day of school and they're dumping this on us" said Jaune as he was only saying this to hide the fact that he knew there wasn't a snowball chance in hell for him to be a Celestial Lord as he barely managed to survive the schools orientation.
"You're not wrong, but surely there's a reason it was finally calling to us, and well such opportunities shouldn't be put on hold" said Blake, "Yeah, plus who knows Jaune, maybe you'll be the Celestial Lord" said Pyrrha.
Hearing the words of encouragement from his friends was what Jaune needed to hear as any feeling of doubt and worry was now gone as he mentally psyched himself to take on a once in a life time opportunity.
"Settle down students and prepare yourselves as we shall now conduct the trials" called Ozpin.
"What should we be expecting in these trials" asked Weiss, "You students shall descend deep within this temple from here, where you will be forced to battle in a 4 wave battle of attrition against some of the very maidens that dwell within this device" said Ozpin.
"But I thought you said that no one was able to unlock that phone until recently" asked Yang, "Exactly, plus this device has a mind of it's own, but enough of this mindless gab, students, prepare yourselves, as you will start through the trial of dark, followed by the trial of light, then the trial of passion, ending in the trial of cool. That is all and I wish you all well as we eagerly await for the next Celestial Lord" said Ozpin.
No words were said as the students all made their way down to within what was pretty much a large tomb as they awaited patiently for the first trial to begin.
And it began when the lit torches surrounding them erupted into purple flames as a banner with a purple background and a crescent symbol enveloping a small star fell around the vacant balcony's.
"This is the part where something scary is supposed to happen, right?" Yang asked out loud, "Or smart" added Blake, "Or exciting" said Ruby.
In true fashion something did happened as a group of 7 maidens approached the students.
The first one was a woman wearing a black dress with a huge mid section revealing her inner cleavage down to her naval as she had red eyes, light lavender hair, a priests vail, and was carrying a menacing red on gold staff with a menacing skull on top with glowing red eyes; this was Dark Priest.
Next was a young woman wearing glasses as she had on a plain grey school girl skirt, a white blouse with a Sherbert orange corset over it, a purple cape that was transitioning to a metal red color midway, held by a skull broach, a witches hat with a purple wool rim as the tip top was fully metal, brown eyes, nova blue hair, and carried with her a tome with a hexagram cover; this was Dark Wizard.
The next maiden was a woman riding on a black horse with red eyes as both wore matching sets of purple armor, as her armor reveal her naval region, while the maiden herself carried a purple shield, a purple handle rapier, she had an armor set piece that revealed her face and held her long black hair back as she had magenta colored eyes with bags underneath that were pretty visible as she had a look of contempt; this was Dark Knight (Old).
The next maiden stood out the most as the young woman not only wore a piece of armor that barely covered her chest, shoulders, forearms, the knees and below, and her waist as she had short shaggy ash hair and garnet red eyes as she carried a spear in her hand, but she did all that riding a red dragon, that looked for real; this was Dragon Slayer (Old).
Next was a teenage girl wearing a black dress that had the same large midsection reveal like Dark Priest, but unlike her, she had a pink sash on her hip, a narrow red cape with gold trimming, long purple hair in a ponytail, light brown eyes and a large red horn on her forehead; This was Devil Summoner.
Standing next to her was a woman wearing black bikini bottoms, and a frilly brassiere held up by 2 lower buckles, as she wore shirtless sleeves on her arms, a black frilled veil, long dark violet hair, dark red eyes, as she carried a large human skull in her hands; This was Necromancer.
And finally rounding them all up, we have a woman dressed in a blood strained and cut up yukata as she had long nova blue hair, soulless honeycomb colored eyes, and carried with her a katana with a menacing glowing purple aura; This was Cutthroat (Old).
"I don't suppose they're the friendly bunch now" Ruby asked innocently as she got her answer when Dark Wizard opened a random page in her tome with one hand, and in her free hand projected a hexagram before launching a ball of fire towards the student where upon making contact with the ground erupted in a large explosion.
Thankfully nobody was hit or hurt by the attack as many of the students began to panic, while the few who still had the nerve to fight, did so and jumped to the offensive.
"We got to take out their range fighters" said Jaune as he managed to rally up some students with long distant firearms to form a firing line.
Unfortunately, that left many of the students open to be attacked by Dark Knight (Old), Cutthroat (Old), and Dragon Slayer (Old), with the latter being the most dangerous of the bunch as she's able to combat the students from the skies with her dragon at a distance, as she would attack those in a panic with her spear.
And she did so when she managed to corner 2 students, where she plunged her spear into a students chest while her dragon incinerated the other one, while seeing their deaths and hearing their screams was terrifying, what made it more terrifying was when sentient black soot covered in a purple aura began to consume these students, leaving no traces of them.
"Guys, time to get serious, we can't die by these bitches and let them kill our classmates" said Yang as she was now pissed and eager to take them on.
"She's right, Yang, you can take on the maiden riding that dragon, Blake and Weiss will back you up" ordered Ruby, "Ren, if you can deal with that scary girl with the katana, Nora can deal with the witch in front of us casting explosions left and right" ordered Jaune.
"I guess that leaves us with the rest" said Pyrrha, "We can totally take them on, I mean there's seven of them and about 48 students here" said Ruby as she jinxed them as Necromancer began to summon an army of undead skeletons.
"I mean it's an army of bones we can still take them on" said Jaune as the trio saw a bunch of students going up against the undead army, only for many to fall under the trap of Devil Summoner summoned demonic hands that would grip and bound the students in place while aiding and strengthening the undead army to attack the defensive students.
"Could be worse" Pyrrha said as she wanted to strike them all out as Dark Priest finished casting a dark mist surrounding everyone.
"Great, now we can't even see what's in front of us" jeered Weiss as she will occasionally hear a fellow classmate cry in pain, "Stay focused on aiding Yang" reassured Blake.
"And how do you expect us to do that when we're swimming through this blinding mist" asked Weiss as she got her answer when she saw bright burning flames, and the sounds of shotgun shells being ejected.
While they have a bright idea where Yang was at, neither Weiss nor Blake wanted to take a risky shot and accidentally clip the blonde.
"You're going to pay for killing my classmates" said Yang as she was barely hanging on to the dragon of Dragon Slayer (Old) as the maiden was caught in a game of tug of war against Yang.
With a tap of her heels, Dragon Slayer (Old), had forced her dragon to start flying upside down to shake the blonde off, as Yang now used her free hand to punch but into her dragon and to Dragon Slayer herself.
Meanwhile, Blake and Weiss spotted a progressively visible silhouette of Yang, as the prepared to aid her.
Once Yang was close enough, Weiss proceeded to use her glyphs to launch small streams of ice dust towards Dragon Slayer's (Old) dragon, forcing the mythical creature to ground itself.
Now fully grounded, Blake ran head first to Dragon Slayer (Old), where her dragon prepared to attack the cat Faunus with a fireball, only for Blake to leave a shadow clone in her place, before getting the jump on her dragon and beheaded the creature.
All the while, Yang had gain her composure and mange to get Dragon Slayer (Old) down to her level, where their difference in skill was evident when Yang had not only disarmed, but beat the maiden into submission.
Once beaten, Dragon Slayer (Old) and her dragon erupted into a cluster of aura covered soot like the students that had been killed.
"Thanks for the help" said Yang, "No problem" said Blake before both nearly avoided getting cut down by a skeleton soldier.
Elsewhere, we see Ruby zooming past everyone as she would aid any of her fellow first year classmates, while ultimately trying to find one of the more dangerous maidens on the field.
Seeing a large projection of fireballs being launched at a distance, Ruby made a b-line to Dark Wizard, only to be suddenly tripped over by something.
Looking down, Ruby saw that she was caught by one of the many demonic hands used by Devil Summoner, with more hands desperately appearing and trying to restrain the red hooded figure down, till someone else more capable could finish her off.
Desperate, Ruby began to tug and break herself free, whilst holding onto Cresent Rose with her dear life as these demonic arms were attempting to take her weapon.
In probably the luckiest of all breaks, Ruby managed to land a killing shot onto Devil Summoner whilst struggling to hold her weapon against the very hands Devil Summoner had used on her and many other students.
Getting back onto her feet, Ruby was set about finding Dark Priest, but those plans were put on hold when she felt the weight of a familiar friend leaning on her.
"You alright Ruby" asked Pyrrha, "I'll be good, just glad to be free from that maiden's grasp is all" said Ruby.
"Agreed, though now we should focus on trying to find the maiden, who's causing this field smoke" said Ruby, "I think it's mist, if it was smoke, none of us would be breathing right" Pyrrha.
Just as the 2 huntresses in training were about to continue on with their search, they were surrounded by more skeleton undead, leaving them in a tight spot.
Elsewhere we're back with Jaune who had stayed behind to deal with the small group of skeleton undead as he had ordered Pyrrha to back Ruby up.
Once he finished taking on the last undead, Jaune thought he could catch his breath, but he heard whinnying and grunts of a horse not to far behind him.
Even through the thick mist that surrounded them all, Jaune could clearly see Dark Knight (Old), and she was eager to test the might of the very young knight standing before her.
Raising his shield up, Jaune prepared as Dark Knight (Old) began to charge at him with her sword raised high, where she tried to use her horse to get Jaune to drop his guard by attempting to charge him, but the young huntsmen had managed to stand his ground when he not only evaded the hell equine, but also the fellow knights attack.
Looking down on Jaune with a bemused look, Dark Knight (Old) steadied her horse as she prepared to charge Jaune and wear him out long before he can come up with a counter strategy.
Charging towards Jaune like before, the last thing Dark Knight (Old) expected was a stray fireball coming between her and Jaune as she was knocked off her horse.
Struggling to get her footing again, another stray fireball was coming towards her again as she stood there frozen expecting to be finished off like this, had it not been for Jaune tackling her out of danger.
Looking down on Jaune, no words were exchanged as the manic looking Dark Knight (Old) now looked at Jaune with puzzlement and curiosity as she half expected Jaune to leave her to her fate but didn't.
Feeling satisfied, Dark Knight (Old) got back on her feet and mounted atop her equine as she looked at Jaune with a smile.
"May you survive the next trial" said Dark Knight (Old) as she erupted into black soot where she, along with this thick mist and remaining maidens left the tomb.
Not sure to make what happened, Jaune began to regroup with his team and sister team as they began to discuss what just happened.
"Is everyone all right" called Ruby, "Yeah, we're good sis, how about you guys" asked Yang.
"Grateful to be alive, that maiden I was tasked with hunting down was a killer in every sense of the word" said Ren as he recalled the number of students Cutthroat (Old) had slain when tracking her, and how close she was killing him.
"Honestly I was lucky someone took down that one maiden who was summoning arms and restraining people down, otherwise I would've been a goner" said Ruby as she was unaware of being the one to defeat Devil Summoner.
"How about you Jaune, I know you stayed behind to deal with that one maiden mounted on a horse, how did that go" asked Pyrrha.
"Interesting" said Jaune as that was the best he could describe their confrontation.
"What you mean by that" asked Blake, "I don't know, we barely got to fight when that one maiden launching fireballs at everyone began to fire them at out own general direction" said Jaune.
"Sorry, I was fighting her and got her attacking me in a frenzy state of mind" Nora said sheepishly, "Great to know, but that's not what made it interesting" said Jaune.
"Then could you tell us already" asked Weiss as she was getting impatient with Jaune.
"Well after saving her from getting hit, she got back on her horse and wished me well before erupting into black soot" explained Jaune, "The maiden you were fighting, talked to you" asked Pyrrha.
"Yeah" said Jaune, "I don't see how that's a big deal, unless you were lying how the ladies don't actually dig your name" asked Yang.
"Yang, now's not the time" said Ruby as she stifled a laugh, "Sorry, coping habit" said Yang.
"Speaking of coping" said Blake as she turned her head around her to see that their fellow students were not doing well mentally since more than half of them were killed and many of these students are left without their team.
"This is really messed up, especially coming from someone as reputable as Ozpin" said Ren, "Remind me to stick my first through his chest and rip his heart out if we survive this" said Yang.
"Survive this!? We should focus on trying to escape this death trap" said Weiss, "And how do you suppose we do that" asked Blake.
"Those maidens had to have come in here someway, surely there's got to be a way to leave this place" reasoned Weiss.
Before the group could continue on with their conversation, the surrounding torches all erupted into turquoise colored flames as new banners dropped being of a turquoise background with stars upon the same vacant balcony.
"Guys, be ready for the next trial" said Ruby as everyone began to draw their weapons out again as they were now approached by 5 maidens this time.
The first was a woman with long red hair and blue eyes, wearing an armored evening wear dress as she had plating covering her entire chest, arms, and hips, as she wore long metal grieves and chocker as bits of her dress revealed to be yellow as she carried with her a great swords that had to be carried with 2 hands; this was Knight (Old).
The next was a woman with long pink hair and eyes, as she wore a frilly blue on periwinkle priest uniform with a matching veil as she carried with her a golden rod which was luminating a bright light; this was Priest.
In the middle was a young woman with light blue hair and eyes as she wore a loose fit black jacket with light blue lining with matching thigh highs and skirt, white gloves, and a small white cape with light blue lining as she carried with her a long silver rod with the cherry on top being her small little cleric hat that remained adjacent on her head; This was Cleric.
Next to her was a woman with long brown hair and violet eyes, as she wore a loosely fitted white dress and violet corset as this barely did anything to keep her huge knockers covered as her thighs were also exposed, as she was giving off that domie mommy vibes as she carried a small red book; this was Bishop.
Rounding them all up was a very familiar looking maiden as she had silver hair and blue eyes as she road white steed with the same style of mismatched and revealing armor, shield, and thin bladed sword, except they were all dyed in white with either gold or blue on top; this was Paladin (Old).
"Guys, I'm gonna confess and say that chick with the small book and large set of hooters is very distracting to me, so if anyone wants to step up and deal with her, please do as you'll be doing us a favor" said Yang.
"I got her, Nora mind helping me out" asked Ren, "Flower power forever" Nora said eagerly.
"I can take on the maiden with the large sword if anyone wants to back me up" asked Pyrrha, "If you don't mind the company" said Weiss, "Room for one more" Yang said as if there was no point in asking.
Just as everyone was about to call dibs, they were all in for a surprise when Knight (Old) began to illuminate a bright turquoise aura surrounding her before soon her fellow maidens were glowing like her.
Feeling like something bad should've happened, it seemed that the maidens were only affected by whatever it was Knight (Old) did to them, before they all came to face the students head on.
Running towards Knight (Old), Pyrrha began to clash blades with Pyrrha before both entered in a deadlock, where Weiss came from the side and stabbed her weapon into the ground where she froze Knight (Old) in place.
Backing away from the entrapped maiden, Yang came charging in and delivered a series blows into Knights (Old) face that looked not only like it hurt, but also pretty dirty.
With one last straight punch to the face, Yang was certain that Knight (Old) would've been out for the count, except the maiden seemed fine and hardly looked like her face took a beating of a life time.
Gripping onto her sword, Knight (Old) took a swing at Yang and sent her skidding back before the maiden broke free and dust herself off.
"No way, she shouldn't be even standing after the beating I gave her" said Yang, "I must agree" said Pyrrha.
Not quite done with Pyrrha or Yang, Knight (Old) got in between them and split the pair up, before focusing her attention on Pyrrha.
Seeing her teammates in trouble, Weiss was preparing to assault Knight (Old) with a stream of fire glyphs, but was stopped when Cleric came beside her and used her silver staff to stop her performing the last stance to her killer dance.
Still caught off guard, Cleric looked at Weiss with sympathy as she smacked Weiss across the face with her silver rod, sending the heiress spiraling down.
"Weiss" exclaimed Ruby in horror as she rushed over to save the grumpy princess, leaving Blake to deal with Priest, and Jaune to deal with Paladin (Old).
Not feeling the least bit worried, Jaune stood his ground and awaited for Paladin (Old) to make the first move as the maiden proceeded to dismount her horse.
With her own shield and sword in hand, Paladin (Old) looked at Jaune with a warm smile.
"Shall we duel then, young knight" asked Paladin, "So you can talk" asked Jaune.
"Yes we can, but there's hardly any room for such luxuries. Now prepare yourself for an honorable duel this time around" said Paladin (Old) as she took a stance, as did Jaune.
Back at the situation at hand, after seeing Weiss in danger, Ruby came ready to take on Cleric by surprise, but the maiden in Cleric was more than ready, as she used her rod to block a deadly slice from the .50 Cal giant scythe.
Not to be left out done, Cleric only needed to push Ruby back with just enough force that she went and jabbed the tip of her rod into Ruby's stomach knocking the wind out of her.
Spinning her rod to gain momentum, Cleric prepared to deliver the killing blow on Ruby, if not for Weiss, getting back on her feet, and launch a wave of earth and stone towards the maiden.
"Get away from her you cur" said Weiss as she launched herself towards Cleric as she began to duel her with new found piss and vinegar.
Clashing her blade towards Cleric who was able to black and evade her attacks, Weiss had to perform a rather unorthodox and under handed mover, when the next time Cleric decided to go on the offensive, she'd have a trap ready.
Locking weapons once more, Weiss had decided that now was a good time to entrap the maiden in a body of ice, before taking a short distance from the maiden, where she lunged forward with a enough force to not only break the ice, but also send Cleric tumbling back.
"Stand down, you'll live long" said Weiss as she had her weapon pointed down on the beaten Cleric, which didn't go unnoticed by the other maidens.
All the maidens, sans Knight (Old), began to concentrate and glow a blinding aura like before, and in an instant all of them that had sustained cuts or bruising were now fully healed and ready to continue on with fighting the other students.
"This is so unfair, they can heal one another" jeered Yang as she just barely managed to get Knight (Old) to drop a sweat.
"We should really focus on taking one out with all of our combined forces" said Pyrrha, "Easier said than done, it's like these maidens are bullet sponges" said Nora as she skid next Pyrrha, as she's been providing range support on Ren, who's fight with Bishop wasn't easy.
And no it wasn't because she had tig ol' bitties in a small shirt that easily distracted and aided her quest in killing more students as they all began to glow in a very bright light color based on their represented aura before literally fading from existence.
No, it had to do with the fact that Bishop can not only launch beams of energy towards people at a distance, but even in unarmed combat, she was deadly.
Example would be when a red shirt student tried cutting her down with his sword, only for Bishop to step back from the killer swing, where she dug herself into said red shirts, and took control of his sword hand, to clash blades with another student, while staying in control.
Breaking up the fight, Ren tried running in head first to try landing a sift kick to Bishop's face, but the maiden, used her rear human shield, and judo throw him onto Ren as he narrowly rolled out of harms way.
Whipping out his machine pistols, Ren proceeded to fire a storm of bullets towards bishop as the maiden remained composed as she danced her way around said storm towards Ren where she held his hands in a crossed grip.
Surprising Ren by showing she had the upper hand in strength when she forced his grip and aim away from her, she attempted to knee Ren in the gut, but the young huntsman raised his leg in time to narrowly block the attack.
Left to do an awkward tango with his arms tied in front of him, Ren remained calm as he knew that soon the cavalry will arrive.
Even if it meant getting Ren, Nora took the chance to fire at Bishop as she lobbed 2 pills near her, which not so much startled as it did puzzle her how bad Nora's aim was.
Still that mental break was enough for Ren to break himself free and took a cartwheel back as he began to lay down some fire on Bishop as well, but the maiden was not under prepared as she whipped out her little book and used it to help concentrate and fire a beam of light towards, Ren, Nora, and the 2 red shirts as mentioned, who unfortunately faded into light.
Back with Jaune, he was left to face off against Paladin (Old) as she remained calm and in control of their duel, but at some point or another the maiden decided to flip the script when she began to give Jaune some pointers.
"Your shield is more than a shield, it too can be a weapon" said Paladin (Old) as she saw Jaune come at her like a ram as he charged forward with his shield, only for the maiden to side step and use the flat end of her sword to swat Jaune's back.
"Either that was being stupid, or impulsive, none of which will aid you in combat" said Paladin (Old) as she gave Jaune a minute to nurse his stinging back.
Turning heel, Jaune decided to pull a move he saw from Pyrrha and tossed his shield like a frisbee towards Paladin (Old), not as a means to attack, but rather obscure her vision, where he came charging forward holding a firm grip on his sword, as he brought it down and began to clash blades with her.
"Better, much better" said Paladin (Old) with a smile before both took a step back, where Jaune tried to close the distance and plunge his sword into the maiden, only for Paladin (Old) to side step and slam her shield into the back of Jaune's head, sending the young huntsmen falling to the ground.
"However, it still leaves you in a vulnerable position, especially for one who is not yet experienced for combat young knight" said Paladin (Old).
"Thanks for the advice" grunted Jaune as he reached for his shield, before getting back on his feet once more.
"My pleasure, just keep in mind that I'll only be this gracious to you, so long as remain compliant and respectful" said Paladin (Old).
"Then don't take offense to make accusing you for not fighting so honorably, I mean, you maidens are tougher than the last ones, and can heal, so tell me how is this fair" asked a tired Jaune.
"It's fair cause we're testing you, besides, a bunch of you have already taken out Priest" said Paladin (Old) as she saw that the group Blake had lead were successful in jumping and defeating one of the maidens as the move to aid Ren and Nora against Bishop.
"Now let's saw we continue our duel young knight" said Paladin (Old) before she her the whinny sound of her horse charging at her, where the maiden had back flipped back onto her steed as the horse was trying to protect her from being attack from one of the last few range fighter students.
Circling back to Jaune, Paladin (Old) walked her way towards Jaune as she absent mindedly took out 2 red shirts on her way before taking a proper stance.
"Now where were we" asked Paladin (Old) as Jaune was amazed as to how much power this maiden had and was holding back to teach him a lesson in some eyes, while another this was her bullying him, just without the insults.
Things were going nuts back with Weiss as she had Cleric bouncing back on her feet and used her staff to take control of the situation as she used it to beat or push Weiss back.
Feeling very tired and beaten, Weiss would occasionally try to use the same tactic she used on Cleric before, but the maiden was smarter, as she got close enough so that she can't do anything drastic, and yet at a nice distance to where she can't even catch her breath.
Eventually the exhaustion got the better of Weiss as the young huntress fell on her butt after tripping on her own 2 feet.
Ceasing the opportunity, Cleric ran in ready to slam her staff into Weiss, but a familiar red blur came in the nick of time to block the attack.
"You alright Weiss" asked Ruby, "Yeah" said Weiss weakly as Ruby pushed Cleric back and proceeded to wail on the maiden with some large slashes of her own, before Cleric decided to take a wide step back.
This meant nothing to Ruby as she planted her scythe into the ground and proceeded to fire some rounds at Cleric who could only stand in place and spin her silver rod as fast as she could in order to deflect the oncoming bullets.
Getting back on her feet, Weiss had began to switch the dust she had stashed in her weapon and began to charge Ruby up.
"Ruby, get her like how we got that Nevermore" said Weiss, "You got it bestie" said Ruby as she shot herself like a bullet, ready to slice Cleric in half, but the maiden was just finished being healed by Paladin.
Waiting for Ruby to get close to, Cleric needed to only side step fast enough and slam her silver rod into Ruby, forcing the hooded huntress to eat shit as she skidded across the floor.
"Ruby!" exclaimed Yang in horror as she saw how bad her sister was just hit in the midst of her fight with Knight (Old), "Yang stay focused" said Pyrrha as she raised her shield to avoid another attack from Knight (Old)
"That's it, you're going down" said Weiss as she sent a wave of fire towards Cleric, who used her silver rod to blow a small shield for herself, as Weiss came charging in herself.
Seeing this, Cleric merely slammed her rod into Weiss' neck, causing the heiress to fall back and choke.
Not wanting to prolong this any longer, Cleric walked up towards Weiss and swung the blunt tip of her rod into the side of her head, instantly killing the young huntress as she began to fade into a bright life.
Moving onto Ruby, Cleric did not hesitate when she decided to flip over and use the momentum to slam her rod into Ruby's head, killing her as well as Ruby fade into light.
This horrified, enraged, and motivated the surviving circle of friends who saw this, none more so than Yang and Jaune, with Yang going berserk and lunged herself into Knight (Old) where she broke her defenses and swept the maiden off her feet.
Using her legs to hold her arms down, and her weight to keep her pinned, Yang began to beat on Knight (Old) with everything she had as the maiden was unable to defend herself, much less get the support she needed from her fellow maidens before Yang finally ended her with one final straight punch to the face, as the maiden herself turned into light and faded away.
Getting back on her feet, Yang's eyes screamed murder as she began to approach Cleric.
"Pyrrha, don't let anyone get in my way, that bitch is mine" said Yang, "Of course" said Pyrrha as she was torn from either helping Jaune or everyone else in their fight against Bishop.
Speaking of Jaune, he was mad himself after not only seeing his crush die, but his very first best friend, fellow leader, and open LINKIN PARK nerd died in front of him.
Running up to Paladin (Old) as if he was going to ram her with his shield like before, Jaune instead duck and rolled passed the maiden as he spun around and tossed his shield like before.
Unable to counter properly, Paladin (Old) who barely managed to protect herself was left wide open as Jaune ran forward and rested the tip of his sword pressed at the maidens neck.
"I believe that's called check mate on your part, though answer me, were you impulsive or did you had a plan this time around" asked Paladin (Old).
"Be quiet! I don't want to hear anything that you have to say, You're friends killed some good friends of mine, and now they're gone, all the while I got stuck here facing off against you as you held back this whole time, for what I don't know, just like how I don't know why I haven't finished you yet, or why you choose to fight us when you can all clearly talk, just why" asked a frustrated Jaune as he was on the brink of tears.
All the while Paladin (Old) remained calm and collected and she looked at Jaune with a sad look on her own trying to figure out what to say to the boy in his time of need.
"Just cause we can talk doesn't mean I or any of my fellow maidens have free will, in fact that's our fate really, we may have personality, and interests, but that is the one thing we maidens lack is free will" said Paladin (Old).
"Believe me when I say that if it was up to me, none of you should be force to deal with this kind of pain or trauma in your young lives and we'd be all dueling like you and me, cause trust me young knight, it pains me that even after we've finally woken up, we're nothing more than machines, slaves, and any other metaphor that fits our situation, and will be so until a Celestial Lord has come to claim and deliver us our freedom" said Paladin (Old).
"Which is why I do so hope you win and see this through, but I guess only time will tell master" said Paladin as she backed away from Jaune after hearing her cry out her pain before mounting on her horse.
"But for now, I can say that I am satisfied, and therefore you're all ready to move onto the next test, so good luck" said Paladin (Old) as she began to fade into light, before Bishop followed through since Yang long since beat Cleric into oblivion during Jaune's and Paladin's (Old) monologue.
Of the 56 students that came here today for this trial, there remained only 8 students left, which would include all members of team JNPR, Blake, Yang, Cardin, and Russel.
And yet there remains but 2 more trials.
Ok, so I'm gonna end things here cause there was a lot to dump in and yet so much I am skimming over the top, because I'm not trying to copy paste and write the same story with each installment to the Celestial Lords, which will end in a massive and I mean massive crossover battle, which when the time does come it'll be the most heavily anticipated and ambitious writing project I'll have ever written outside of writing my own original novel, but that's a story for another day in itself.
More so I haven't even dwelled deep into the lore of Valkyrie crusade or any mention of the games core mechanics as of yet, and probably won't do so in the first 3 chapter, and even if I did, it be super abridged at best, but justice will be served.
Other than that I also wanted to start the new year with a new story, even though we've reached the end of the month by now, but, hey I'll take what I can get and call it a consolation victory.
