Naveen knew he should've been looking where he was going when he danced around on the stage as the waiters were preparing to open, but his coordination was usually perfect.
Okay, he was a little distracted because his ukulele was out of tune and he couldn't seem to tune it right. And maybe practising a bit of choreography (just to make sure he didn't crash into the rest of the band when he danced around, of course) while trying to tune it wasn't his wisest idea.
Still, he'd danced around this stage so often that he was honestly surprised when his foot went over the edge of the stage. And took his entire body with it. Leaving him in a heap on the ground. Very undignified.
And also painful. He yelled out when he hit the floor, having landed on his arm, agonising pain shooting up his arm.
The door to the kitchen banged open and Tiana came barrelling out to see her husband lying on the ground, cradling his arm.
"Naveen! What on earth did you do?" She rushed to his side and helped him sit up.
"I may have fallen off the stage," he explained, trying to hide his wince. "I must've been distracted by thoughts of my lovely wife."
"Flirting with me ain't gonna stop me from worrying about you and calling you stupid," Tiana replied, "I'll drive you to the hospital. Come on." She went help him stand up but Naveen pulled away.
"No, no, no. I'm fine. You need to work! I'll find my own way there. You needn't abandon your staff over me."
Tiana rolled her eyes. "I have a good staff who don't need me holding their hand through it all. They'll survive without me until we get back."
"But-"
"No buts," Tiana interrupted. "You are my husband and you are far more important. I'll drive you to the hospital. No more arguments."
Naveen smiled and nodded. Tiana helped him up and the two of them headed out to the car, Tiana yelling instructions to the staff that had apparently gathered as soon as they'd heard him fall (Naveen couldn't be sure if it was his pain or how besotted he was with his wife that made him blind to the others there).
"You ready to go?" Tiana asked, settling behind the wheel.
Naveen nodded with a small, genuine smile (despite his pain). "Ready to go."
