What's going on everyone? Hope you all are doing well and amazing!

I had this little story sitting in my files for a while now. I never found the strength in me to flesh it out and edit it to my liking to make it a readable work. But here I am with the finished product.

This story has NO connection to 'Remembering You' or 'I've Decided to Make a Return to Basketball, Unexpectedly'.

Hope you guys enjoy this little thing I made in the process of over two years.

Without further ado, please enjoy this one shot.

The cold wind breezed past his pale face as a male took a step outside of the warm embrace of a cafe, at which he was sitting in for the past hour. The low temperature was being aided by the force of the strong wind to make its presence more noticeable and menacing. The dangerous combo of the wind and already cold air made his teeth chatter. He wasn't the only one reacting to the frigid climate in such a manner. Due to the current state of the environment, many others, either by themselves or with companions, were doing the same as him as they suffered from being cold. One part of his mind was screaming at him to go back to the nice and comforting presence of the cafe he was sitting at minutes ago. The other part was doing the opposite, urging him to not turn back and make it back to his apartment so he could get some extra sleep. As his inner self kept fighting over the conflicting decisions he'd need to make, he was already about a couple of minutes of a walk away from the cafe. At the end, the magnitude of the winds grew stronger and it helped him make the choice to return to the cafe.

A couple of minutes passed and he finally made his way back to the cafe. The customers already sitting there didn't really give his entrance a glance as he slowly walked his way towards the usual spot he sits at. The waiters and waitresses merely gazed at him out of curiosity and shrugged before focusing back on their tasks. He sat there for a minute to catch his breath, due to the high velocity of his way back here. Slowly, he let the cozy aura of the setting warm up his body. The redness at the tip of his ears and around the majority of his face began to phase out as warmer air fought the effects of the freezing temperature he was just in. As he basked in the glow of the pleasant ambiance, the sound of footsteps nearing his table made him look up at a very familiar waitress.

Due to his common visits at this cafe, most of the workers here already knew him. She was usually the one who would bring him what he wanted and serve his orders.

"You're back…is everything alright?" The woman asked him in genuine concern. Her auburn eyes looked over his entire body to make sure there wasn't anything unusual. Looking at the noticeable red hue around his face, she was able to theorize why he was probably back but still waited for his answer. He looked back at her and gave a small nod.

"Everything is fine. It was too windy out and that makes it even colder when you go outside," his voice had a slight raspiness to it as he voiced his response. She nodded at his words and gave him a small smile.

"Well, since you are back, would you like a cup of coffee again?" She offered.

"I'll go with black tea this time," he requested. She smiled and wrote it down on her little pad.

"One cup of black tea for our regular customer," she smiled and turned around before walking back. He sighed and took out his phone after the waitress left.

Looking over his text messages, which seemed to only consist of a few contacts, his last conversation was two days ago and there were no new notifications. Shrugging, he went to different social media platforms and scrolled through different posts, some on his main profiles and some from his burners. Although he was not a very social person, he liked to keep in touch with the happenings of the world and whatnot. He kept scrolling through his social media feeds for a couple of minutes until his cup of black tea was brought to him by the same waitress that spoke to him a few minutes earlier.

"Thank you, Izumi-san," the man said before taking a sip of his tea. The waitress, whose name was revealed to be Izumi, gently smiled at the man.

"Of course. Please enjoy," she responded before walking away to take and serve more orders to other customers. The man looked at the waitress as she walked away once more before his attention returned to the cup of tea he just ordered. Although nothing mind blowing to his taste buds, the black tea did offer him a sense of comfort as the warm drink was perfect for someone who was in cold weather not too long ago. Not thinking much as else as he sipped on his tea, his focus went back to checking social media feeds.

As he enjoyed his tea quietly and minded his own business, he was interrupted from his own little world as a voice called out to him, forcing him to jump up in surprise and almost drop his black tea all over himself.

"Hikigaya-kun!" The voice called out yet again. Someone calling him out so suddenly and out of nowhere shook him up a bit. His heart beat a little faster than usual due to being caught off guard by the voice. He didn't recognize the voice or had any clue who its owner was at that instant. He finally looked up to see who had almost given him a heart attack. The appearance of the woman that had just called him was unrecognizable for the first few seconds until it finally clicked in his mind who this actually was. To him, it was surprising to see someone like her appear in a place and at a time like this.

"...Shiromeguri-senpai?" He asked himself more than the woman who had actually got his attention. She nodded her head in a bubbly manner, which was familiar to him.

"The one and only! You remembered me!" She excitedly confirmed and erased any doubts Hachiman had regarding her identity.

The man, Hachiman Hikigaya, made observations of the woman, who was his senior from his high school. Her face barely had any changes compared to when he saw her the last time, which was years ago. The only exception was her left eye, which seemed a lot shinier and unrealistic than her right eye for some reason. On top of her head was a brown beanie cap. She had a thick and fluffy white coat over her upper body and black jeans along with a pair of black boots. All in all, she was prepared to combat the cold weather outside unlike Hachiman, who only wore a thin beige coat over his black button up shirt.

"Do you mind if I sit here?" Shiromeguri asked with a smile. Hachiman, who was still a little shocked, slowly shook his head. The woman smiled and made herself comfortable as she sat across from her junior from high school. She didn't waste any time to start conversing with the man in front of her.

"You've changed so much from the last time I saw you!" Shiromeguri commented. She mainly focused on the stubble that was growing on Hachiman's chin and above his upper-lip along with the pair of glasses that was worn over his eyes. His hair had also grown slightly but it was well kept.

"I can't really say the same about you, senpai. You look just like you did back in Sobu High. Well, mostly," Hachiman's reply seemed to bring out a nervous chuckle out of the woman as she looked away only for a second before looking back at him again, which didn't go unnoticed by Hachiman.

His eyes automatically observed his acquaintance from his high school one more time. At his second observation of the woman in front of him, he noticed one more big change in her physical appearance. Despite having a beanie over her head, Hachiman was still able to deduce that the woman sitting in front of him had shorter hair than he remembered her having back in his high school days. From what he remembered, back then, she used to wear her hair in two braids. Her hair as of the moment only managed to reach her shoulders.

"Ah, Hikigaya-kun! That was like 10 years ago! You are making me blush," Shiromeguri had a flushed look but still seemed to be happy that her former junior made such a remark about her physical appearance.

Hachiman, whose heartbeat finally reached a normal pace, shrugged at the woman's behavior before taking a sip out of his black tea. As he did that, the waitress, Izumi, returned to his table with a look of surprise at the appearance of someone else at her regular customer's table. She shook off any look of surprise and smiled at the new visitor as she handed her a menu.

"Welcome! Please take a look at what we offer and I'll return in a bit to take your order," Izumi spoke with a professional tone before walking away to deal with her other tasks. Shiromeguri thanked the woman and glanced around at the items offered in the menu. She then eyed the cup Hachiman was drinking from as he kept his focus on his phone.

"Hikigaya-kun, what are you having?" she asked the male, who looked back up at her from his phone screen.

"It's black tea," he simply answered and the woman hummed at his answer before firing back with another question.

"What would you recommend?" Hachiman thought for a few seconds before replied to Shiromeguri.

"They have a lot to offer in this establishment. Sometimes I get black coffee, sometimes matcha, or even hazelnut coffee. It really depends on what I want on certain days," he explained to the woman in front of him, who nodded as she got what he was saying. Shiromeguri then returned to looking over the items in the menu and Hachiman went back to checking on his phone. The two were in a soundless harmony until the waitress, Izumi, returned to their table.

"Have you decided what you would like to order, ma'am?" the waitress asked in a cordial manner. Shiromeguri didn't take long to provide an answer.

"I'll be having a cup of black tea!" she said with a smile. The waitress returned a smile as well and wrote it down in her notepad.

"Would you like anything else, Hikigaya-san?" She questioned the man at the table. Hachiman glanced at Izumi before shaking his head.

"I am all good. Just give me the bill please" the waitress nodded and put down a small piece of paper in front of him before walking away. After Izumi walked away, Shiromeguri looked at the male in front of her in wonder.

"She seemed to know you. Are you a regular here, Hikigaya-kun?" she questioned as she looked at Hachiman putting away his phone before looking back at her.

"I've been coming here for the past year and a half," Hachiman replied.

"Right! Well…I moved to Hokkaido around 8 months earlier for a job. I would've never expected to see you around here," Hachiman nodded in understanding as he took another sip of his tea.

"I see…" He spoke before going quiet again. Shiromeguri pouted at his small answer and began talking again with a smile.

"Well…won't you tell me a bit about yourself? How is everything going and whatnot?" she pressed. Hachiman sighed before complying to the wishes of the woman sitting in front of him.

"I work as a history teacher for Wakkanai High School. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in History from Chiba University. I moved here around 2 years ago for my job as well. What do you do, Shiromeguri-senpai?" The newly revealed history teacher asked after explaining his reason for being in Hokkaido.

The woman stared at him with amazement before answering him.

"I work as a business analyst for a company here. After graduating from Kyoto University, I immediately got a job in Tokyo but switched to a job in Chiba after a few months. Then a few years later, it was discovered I had eye cancer. After that was resolved, I moved out of Chiba to here," she spoke with a smile. Hachiman's eyes grew a little wider at the mention of her past diagnosis and he then took another notice at her left eye, which looked a lot more shiny compared to her right eye.

"Is that why you wear that prosthetic?" he pointed at her left eye as he asked. Shiromeguri was a little surprised at his discovery but then had a sad smile on her face.

"It's impressive how you found out so quickly. Yes, you are right. Unfortunately, the only way to save my life from eye cancer was to remove my left eyeball," the woman stated. Hachiman didn't say anything for a few seconds before speaking again.

"Sorry about that," said Hachiman. Shiromeguri shook her head while still wearing a smile on her face.

"Please don't be. It was fated to happen. Plus, I still have my other eye," she assured him enthusiastically but it was clear to Hachiman that it still somewhat bothered her a bit. Shiromeguri didn't waste any more time to keep the conversation going afterwards.

"I heard that you and Haruno-san's little sister were in a relationship. So…how is that going?," she asked with a smile. Hachiman's mood darkened a bit after the question but he made sure to hide it from the woman in front of him.

"We used to date. However, during my last year at Chiba University, we came to the conclusion that it was better for both of us to go our separate ways…" Shiromeguri wore a frown on her face at his explanation and felt a pang of guilt within herself for asking the question.

"I apologize for my question. I don't really keep in touch with anyone from Chiba so I didn't know. But still, sorry for asking you," Hachiman this time shook his head at her apology.

"It's alright. Life is a very unpredictable thing. It was fated to happen," Shiromeguri's eyes grew wide for a split second before she smiled at Hachiman, who had a certain glint in his glasses-covered eyes.

"Using my own words against me," she laughed gently for a bit.

"I don't really keep in touch with anyone from Chiba either," The history teacher revealed. The woman looked at him in curiosity.

"Don't you have a younger sister in Chiba?" Hachiman nodded at her question.

"She moved to the UK after graduating from Sobu High. She tries to visit once a year," Hachiman revealed. Shiromeguri nodded in understanding and after that, the two enjoyed the warm atmosphere in a silent unity.

It was 30 minutes later that the duo of Hachiman Hikigaya and Meguri Shiromeguri exited the cafe. The two were greeted with the darkening color of the sky and the combination of cold air and strong winds. Thankfully, the magnitude of the wind's strength had become lower compared to earlier, a much better state of weather to walk around in. Both Hachiman and Shiromeguri still had their teeth chattering in the cold but they walked together in silence. Before leaving, Shiromeguri requested Hachiman to walk alongside her as she made her way back to her apartment. She explained that she always leaves for her apartment during daylight and as early as possible after her work. Today was the first time she was still outside after sunset during her stay in Hokkaido so far.

Hachiman was initially going to refuse due to how cold it was outside and he would need to get back to his place fast. But after peeking outside through the windows of the cafe, he realized that it was getting late. Shiromeguri was probably fearful of anything bad happening to her and some of the nearby streets around their area weren't really the best and didn't have 'normal' people all the time. Plus, despite being a little younger than the woman, his 'Onii-chan' instincts were still prevalent even after all these years. So with a clear thought, he accepted to walk with her. The two didn't converse as they peacefully strode along in their desired destination.

It took them around 10 minutes but the pair had finally reached an apartment complex where Shiromeguri stayed. Hachiman realized that this building wasn't too far from his own place since it would only take a minute or two to get to his apartment from here. Before entering the building, Shiromeguri turned around and smiled at Hachiman before taking out her phone.

"Hikigaya-kun, let's exchange contacts! Life gets boring and lonely around here! I'm so glad to have met you!" She spoke with a tone of excitement. Hachiman sighed but adhered to her request. He definitely would've rejected this offer back when he was in Sobu High but a long time has passed since then, 10 years to be exact. And time changes people.

"Alright. Here, just put your information in," Hachiman held out phone, which Shiromeguri took and punched in her contact information. After she gave it back to him, Hachiman did the same on Shiromeguri's phone. The two bid each other goodbyes and Hachiman stood as his senpai from Sobu High entered the building.

Sighing, he began taking steps in the opposite direction, which would eventually lead back to his place. He had a lot to think about before he went to sleep tonight. An acquaintance from his high school, his senpai and the Student Council President of the school in fact, had encountered him by chance. He agreed with one of her statements. It does get lonely and boring in Hokkaido when you live by yourself. The high school history teacher can attest to that. He hasn't visited Chiba ever since Komachi visited last time, which was right before he moved here. He doesn't really have that close of a relationship with his parents, unlike his younger sister. His life has been very stagnant ever since he ended things with Yukino. It hurt at the time, but now he realizes that what the two of them agreed on was probably the best for both of their futures.

Hachiman realized that he was already entering through the gates that led to his apartment complex. He stopped reminiscing about the past and quickly walked up the stairs to his own flat. After quickly unlocking the door, Hachiman entered his home briskly. He didn't take too long to take a shower and brush his teeth before getting onto his bed. Activating the alarms on his phone, which was thankfully not out of juice right now, Hachiman tried to go to sleep as quickly as possible. However, with what happened over the past few hours and his High school and some college memories making their return within his mindscape, shut eye had become almost impossible for Hachiman. Ultimately, he was able to achieve sleep, but it was too late for his standards.

"Welcome, Hikigaya-kun! Sorry if my place seems very dirty, ehehe," nervously chuckled Shiromeguri as Hachiman was standing outside of her apartment door. The eyes behind his glasses immediately went to work as they began scanning the surroundings within his field of vision. Her apartment was very general and in a sense, boring. It was just like his own. Although her room could use a clean up since he noticed some caked up dust at some spots around the things placed in her living room. One thing that did interest him was a shelf that was placed at one corner of her living room, which consisted of some familiar mangas.

"Please excuse my intrusion," spoke the male as he stepped into Shiromeguri's apartment and began taking off his shoes. The woman had invited him to a dinner and he would've refused initially. But when the thought of free food entered his mind, he couldn't really refuse. Some things just don't change over time. And his extreme greed for free food was one of them. Although he would've definitely said no during his high school years to such an offer, his mindset has gone over some transformations over the years. Nowadays, he just didn't care about the social norms of entering a woman's house due to an invitation at all.

Shiromeguri had him pull out a chair around her small table and take a seat right after he took off his shoes. He already noticed a couple of empty plates set up for two people. From her kitchen, he noticed Shiromeguri carrying out the container of a rice cooker, which had steam fuming out of it.

"Do you need help?" offered Hachiman but Shiromeguri shook her head.

"No need. I got it," she politely declined before going back to the kitchen and bringing out more things. He noticed that she had cooked up quite a few things. They included shrimp tempura, tonkatsu, some sort of glazed egg plants, and some miso soup. From the first glance, he knew that her cooking would be at least alright.

After all of the dishes were placed onto the table, the two began their quiet yet peaceful meal. Hachiman could confidently say that Shiromeguri was a great cook. Her meals tasted great and he was genuinely enjoying it. The two had small talks while they ate but mostly the dinner was a silent one. They didn't take too long finishing up the dinner. As they were getting into their last bites, Hachiman spoke up.

"You can cook very well, senpai," complimented Hachiman. The woman gazed at him with a slightly flustered look but smiled at his words.

"Well…when you live by yourself for a while, you do need to learn a few new things," she responded, to which Hachiman nodded.

"I understand. I've been through the same thing," he verbalized his agreement with her sentiment before continuing.

"So…you really don't keep up with anyone from Chiba?" Shiromeguri looked back up from her bowl and swallowed before answering.

"No, not really. After the death of my father, I didn't really have anyone back there. So once my treatment for eye cancer was finished, I made the decision to move away," The mention of her father's death was new information to Hachiman. When she spoke about her eye, he instinctively eyed the prosthetic that was still shiny as ever.

"Hikigaya-kun, your parents still live in Chiba, correct?" Hachiman was pulled away from his musing due to the question addressed to him.

"Yes. Well, we don't really have that close of a relationship. They are much closer to my sister rather than me," a frown appeared in the woman's face at his answer.

"I am sorry to hear that," Hachiman shook his head at her apology.

"No need. By the way, I noticed you have some manga over there," Hachiman pointed out to the shelf that had manga organized.

"Oh, you noticed. Well, I don't really have much to do in my free time. No one to hang out with. So I decided to buy some manga on a whim and since then, I've been sort of addicted to them," With a blush, Shiromeguri described her recent discovery of enjoying manga.

"I have some at my place too. I do see a couple that I recognize over here," the woman's eyes grew slightly in curiosity and excitement at the reveal.

"Really? I'd love to borrow if you would be willing!" she requested with a beaming smile on her face. The corners of Hachiman's lips twitched slightly at her reaction.

"Sure. If you don't mind, I'd like to borrow a couple of yours as well," Hachiman's high school acquaintance just nodded vigorously at his request.

It had been a few months since Shiromeguri had invited him over for dinner. His usual days of solitary life had quite changed ever since he had encountered someone from his high school days. Shiromeguri expressed her feelings of loneliness in Hokkaido to Hachiman, who could tell from the long gazes she'd have into a random direction. Her silence after saying things related to her life back in Chiba was also followed up by long moments of silence. These observations were very noticeable to the History teacher. However, these occurrences have become smaller over the recent days. It seemed as if spending time with him had made the outlook of her life slightly happier.

Despite his reservations regarding making friends, he would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy spending time with her as well. If one were to view the everyday life of Hachiman Hikigaya through his own eyes, they would notice everything was in a black and white filter. That has been the case for him since he ended things off with Yukinoshita. For years, he had been going with the flow of time in his boring and uninteresting life. He didn't hate it, but it would be another lie for him to admit that he enjoyed it. However, since Shiromeguri entered his life in his late 20s, he could notice the specks of colors in the black and white filter that grasped the view of his life. She was gradually bringing colors into it as she interacted with him more and more.

"Hikigaya-kun!" the voice of Shiromeguri made its way into Hachiman's ears. He looked to his left to see the woman running up to him. She wore a baby blue long skirt and a white blouse under a black long coat. She caught up to him and was on her knees as she caught her breath. Hachiman gave her a minute or two to regain control of her breath. She did it in less than a minute and looked up to show him a nervous smile.

"I am so sorry I was late! I had left my purse when I got out so I had to return to my apartment to get it," she explained while apologizing.

"It's fine. I just got here like a couple of minutes ago," By a couple of minutes, Hachiman meant 12 minutes exactly. But Shiromeguri didn't need to know that.

"Thank goodness," replied Shiromeguri with a look of relief on her face. She then smiled at him but it turned into a look of curiosity as she eyed his face for a while. Hachiman was staring back at her the whole time, just wondering what she was thinking about.

"You shaved," stated the woman as Hachiman nodded.

"Just felt like doing it today," He responded to her. After she hummed for a minute, she looked at him with her bubbly aura back in full force.

"I'll say you look even better with that little goatee you had! Anyways, let's go to the bookstore you were talking about," she said with a smile.

"Of course. Follow me," stated Hachiman before he started walking through the busy sidewalk, filled with people. He figured that he wouldn't shave for a long time now. Shiromeguri kept up right behind him as they both moved along.

The two didn't stop their steps forward until Hachiman entered a store. Shiromeguri followed him into it and noticed how many customers were around the entire shop. It was filled with many types of books and manga. The customers were also ranging from people older than them, around their age, and younger people, which mostly consisted of high schoolers. The two had walked into separate directions as they explored different manga and other books being displayed. Hachiman began exploring the mystery and horror section while Shiromeguri was busy in the romance section. They moved along to other sections and looked through the works being offered to be sold in different parts of the store.

After over an hour, the two finally met up again. They both noticed the manga being carried by the other. Looks of curiosity were exchanged between the two.

"Is that the first volume of 'The Sizzling of His Heart'?" questioned the man with glasses. Shiromeguri sent a gaze of curiosity in Hachiman's direction.

"Have you read this before, Hikigaya-kun?" She was answered with a shake of his head.

"I just know the premise. A husband returns from war a lot different than how his wife, seemingly the protagonist, knew him and it's the story of how he changes and heals with her help, I guess," explained the History teacher. Shiromeguri smiled at his explanation. Taking a look at what he had on his hands, her eyes lit up in recognition.

"Oh! I see you have a copy of 'Rejuvenated Glory'! It is a really good story about how a female knight, who lost her arm, regains her spot as the strongest again!" she illustrated. Hachiman gave a nod at her words.

"I had no idea you read such genres," asked the black-haired man. The older woman sheepishly smiled at him.

"Well, it never hurt to try, I guess," she reasoned, to which Hachiman nodded.

"Understandable. So…is that all you are getting today?" Shiromeguri nodded affirmatively to his question.

"I shouldn't spend too much money on manga right now. Maybe next time I will get more. By the way, are we going to the cafe after this, Hikigaya-kun?" Hachiman looked at the woman for a second before replying.

"Sure. Let's do it right after," Confirmed Hachiman. The two had to end their conversation at that point for now since they got into two different lines to pay for their stuff.

The sky in Hokkaido was clear as two people could be seen leaning over a bridge rail. Shiromeguri and Hachiman enjoyed their comforting silence as they stood next to each other. They were looking into the flowing water below them. The full moon brightening the view of nature and making it clear to their eyes was a plus. Hachiman glanced at Shiromeguri, who was standing to his right. She seemed to be full of thoughts as her remaining eye was staring off into space, as far away as possible. The two had exited the cafe around 2 hours ago. While still carrying the manga they bought, they decided to walk around the quiet town. It was chilly, for sure, but it wasn't cold to the point where they were freezing. And the full moon with clear sky was a bonus.

Hachiman suddenly smelled an ashy scent close to him, which prompted him to turn to his companion. Shiromeguri had chosen to stick a cigarette between her lips and lit its tip. She slowly began taking the puffs of smoke into her lungs. Her hand was holding onto a pack of Marlboro Lights shorts, which seemed to be halfway empty.

"I didn't know you smoked," stated Hachiman while looking down at the water body below him. Shiromeguri turned to his direction and observed him watching the river they were standing over.

"Sorry, Hikigaya-kun. I don't always do it, but sometimes it helps with stress," she confessed. Hachiman raised an eyebrow before nodding and going back to staring at the river. Shiromeguri was only able to inhale one more puff before Hachiman suddenly pulled the stick away from her mouth, baffling her. She looked at him with an astonished look as he also snatched her pack of Marlboro away.

"What are you doing?" Her voice slightly rose but it didn't deter Hachiman from throwing the lit cigarette and the box far away into the river. A frown appeared on her face as Shiromeguri looked at him with a displeased expression.

"What was that for?!" she demanded but Hachiman didn't respond with words. Instead, he pulled out a strawberry flavored lollipop from the inner pocket of the blue jacket he was wearing.

"Please use this to relieve your stress. Sorry, I should've worded that better," Hachiman's offered lollipop was grasped by Shiromeguri's hand and she took it before unwrapping it and putting it in her mouth.

"Hmm, it's pretty good. Thank you, Hikigaya-kun!" a smile replaced her frown seconds after she saw her cigarette being thrown. Hikigaya didn't speak as she kept enjoying the lollipop. But the frown did return to her face a little bit later as she looked at him again.

"But still, why would you pull something like that? Now I will need to buy another pack," she told him with a sigh.

"No you won't," the woman looked at him, baffled.

"I won't?" Hachiman shook his head to confirm her words.

"Why?" she asked with a small voice.

"Because they are bad for your lungs and can cause your health to deteriorate faster. I still have a lot of manga and light novels that I want to share and discuss with you, so I can't let that happen. Until then, please keep using lollipops as a substitute. I will even buy you more lollipops if you need," Hachiman said in a quiet voice as he kept looking at the river. Shiromeguri stared at him for what seemed like hours before a radiant smile was seen on her face. The corner of her right eye had a tiny amount of tears gathered up.

"I guess I want to do the same as well," she said gently as she wiped the tears off of her right eye.

While enjoying the lollipop Hachiman gave her, Shiromeguri decided to go back to watching the river below her like her companion. But this time, she made sure to lay her head on his right shoulder before silently watching the river's water flow in a soothing manner. Hachiman did nothing to stop her as she kept her head laid on his shoulder. The corners of his mouth perked up as he stared into the water.

The black and white filter that had filled his vision of life had finally vanished. It was replaced with many different colors. Colors that he missed and enjoyed the sight of once more.

So...how was it?

Good? Bad? Needs a bit more tweaking? Do let me know if you want to.

Meguri needs more love in FanFiction imo, so that's why I chose her when I initially thought of the idea like, MONTHS ago.

Izumi-san isn't really anyone that important. She is just there, hanging around.

Yes, the story does take place around 10 years after Hachiman graduated. That's why his characterization is a bit OOC compared to canon. People change over time and the same happened to Hachiman here as he transitioned into adulthood. That's why he didn't mind hanging out with Meguri once they met up.

Hope you guys enjoyed it. Please do let me know if there are any grammatical errors or plot holes in the story.

Otherwise, have a good one!
