Chapter 4:
"Wedding?"

The next morning…

It was six o'clock and the Titans scheduled a meeting between themselves to discuss Raiden's situation as they gathering in the living room. Robin was seated on the couch and it wasn't hard to figure out that the boy had barely gotten any sleep. Raven sat on the far right, legs crossed beneath her and eyes closed as she meditated on the matter. Cyborg sat in the middle of them, looking back and forth between his two friends. Starfire was situated in a nearby chair, gaze upon Robin who sighed with a heavy mind. Beastboy was in another chair, though struggling to stay awake and found the meeting pointless.

Cyborg started, "So…how's everyone this morning?"

Raven sighed, "A six-year-old that resembles me is convinced that Robin and I are her parents. What do you think?"

Robin turned to Cyborg, "Where is she by the way?"

Cyborg had forgotten that the two had passed out for the reminder of yesterday's evening, "She's sleeping in the guestroom." Loud snoring came from their green teammate who had fell asleep and they could only shake their heads at him.

"We should've left him asleep." Raven sighed.

"Robin?" Something had been weighing on Star's mind since Raiden's news to them.

Their leader turned to her, "Yeah, Star?"

"If Raiden is your offspring and she is also Raven's offspring…does that mean that-?"

"I don't know what it means Starfire. There has to be some kind of explanation to all this."

BB suddenly woke up, "I think what she's trying to figure out is if you and Raven are boning, jeez. Now can we wrap this up so I can go back to bed." The boy soon left with a yawn as he retreated to his room.

Star looked puzzled, "Boning?"

"Don't worry about it Star." Cyborg shook his head.

"It's just another way to say, 'sleeping together'." Raven responded letting the boy's words go in one ear and out the other. He narrowed his eyes at her.

"Oh…well yes." Starfire lowered her head a bit flustered, "I am curious then…to know how long you have been doing the 'boning'?"

Sweat dripped down Cyborg's face, "Star, don't use that-"

"We're not sleeping together!" Robin and Raven responded simultaneously embarrassed, "Never have and probably never will!"

Cyborg was nodding in agreement but then raised a brow, "Wait…PROBABLY never will. What's that supposed to mean? If given the chance you'd-?"

"NO!" Another simultaneous reply from the two as they noticed that Starfire had left the room. The sound of her room door closing could be heard.

"Well, while you two work this out, I'm gonna get a couple more hours of sleep. Goodnight, or morning…whatever see y'all later." Cyborg made his leave as well.
Robin and Raven were left alone to sit in silence until the girl spotted Raiden's bag sitting in one of the chairs. She used her dark telekinesis to retrieve the bag and bring it towards her.

"What are you doing?" Robin raised a brow.

"Seeing what game this kid's playing at."

"Yeah, but going through her stuff? Raven." He looked at her with puppy dog eyes.

She sighed, "Fine." Raven placed the bag back down.

"Sike!" Robin got up to grab the bag, "I usually condemn such tactics but this is way too weird." He sat back on the couch, this time on the cushion next to hers and began opening the bag.

Raven grinned, "Color me impressed oh fearless leader." While looking through the contents of the bag, Robin found a disc case, a pair of sandals, two shirts and shorts, and a picture. Raven yawned, "Anything useful?"

"A whole bunch of kid stuff, a disc, and this photo." Robin handed the picture to her without giving it a glance.

Raven examined the photo, "Robin? Did you see this?

"Nope, is it important?"

"You might want to look for yourself." She handed the photo back to Robin who was putting everything back into Raiden's bag, besides the disc.

"What's the big deal Raven? It's just a stupid-" He fell silent as his eyes met with the image on the photo, a bit lost for words. "This…is this…?"

"A wedding portrait…OUR wedding portrait." Raven could feel the shakiness in her voice as goosebumps formed over her.

Robin nodded in agreement because there was no denying it. The picture showed a slightly older version of them both with Robin dressed in a black tuxedo, absent of a necktie or bow, but he was still wearing his mask. Raven, to her surprise and dismay, was wearing a long white wedding gown that was strapless with a lace hem. Her hair was long and wavy, amethyst dangling earrings in each lobe. They were positioned in a pose where Robin's arms were gently around her waist and her hands rested on his shoulders; their heads facing the camera. Smiles were on their face and the backdrop was a simple cream canvas that had delicate green designs etched throughout; it was…beautiful.

Robin handed the photo back to Raven who remained mesmerized by it. "Beautiful. I have never been so drawn to a picture before. Robin and I actually look…" She could feel warmth passing through her cheeks in a faint blush, "There's no way that kid is telling the truth…is she?" Robin waved his hand in front of her face, interrupting her thoughts, but an unusual growing feeling, almost like a reaction, came over them.

"Uh…what was that?" He looked down at himself.

"Wait…you felt it too?"

"Like something in my body just moved? Yeah."

Raven sighed, "I hope we're not coming down with something. I can't afford to get sick."

"You and me both." Robin stood, "Maybe we should get some more sleep just in case." He then returned the last two items to Raiden's bag.

"Maybe you're right." Raven agreed and he gave her a single nod as the two headed off to their rooms just like the others before them.

Sometime later…

Robin woke up to the sweet aroma of breakfast being prepared at 11am. He went through his normal morning routine in the bathroom and then got dressed in a pair of blue jeans and white tee. Upon exiting his room, he found Raiden standing in the hallway. He raised a brow, "You didn't make your way to the kitchen for breakfast?"

"Nuh uh, I wanted to wait to go with you." She smiled.

Robin gave her a suspicious look, "Is that so?" After looking upon that genuine smile of hers, which he had to admit was pretty cute and addicting, he relaxed and smiled, "Okay, let's go then." She took his hand and he led them through the tower to the kitchen.

The others were already present, enjoying the meal as Beastboy and Cyborg argued between themselves about the green boy's tofu substitute for the hundredth time.
"Beastboy, keep your fake meat away from all the real food!"

"Dude! Tofu IS real food so don't give me that! And as such, it has a right to a place on the table as well!"

Robin shook his head and sighed while placing a bit of everything on a small plate for Raiden before handing it to her. Then the two of them walked to the dining table. "Don't let those two get to you, Raiden. The rest of us tend to ignore them." Robin sat with the little girl at the table and took the first bite out of a bacon strip.

"Okay!" She smiled widely, "But uncle Cy and uncle Beastboy are really funny."

He smiled nervously, "Please don't call them that." She ended up humming while placing a waffle piece into her mouth that was obviously too big. He could tell she let his words pass right through without a thought. OH well. "So, Raiden, do you know anything else about where you came from before coming here?"

The girl shook her head, "Nuh uh…not really. I just remember it being dark and I couldn't find you."

Raven approached Robin just as her statement finished and leaned over to whisper in his ear, "After breakfast, meet me in the control room to watch that kid's disc."

"I thought I put it back in her bag?" Robin whispered back.

"Yeah well, let's just say that when you went back to bed, it miraculously slipped back out." He grinned to himself as he shook his head and let her know that he'd meet her there.

While she was about to make her leave, Raven locked eyes with Raiden's; she was grinning at her, face full of waffle crumbs."You know, if you wanted to see what was on my disc all you had to do was ask." The two Titans froze a bit shocked by the statement, they'd been caught red-handed.

Raven continued on her way but couldn't help the small curl in the corner of her mouth, "Well what do you know, she can read minds just like me."

[Control Room]

Come the afternoon, Robin and Raven met in the agreed upon room in the tower and they were about ready to pop the disc into the player. "Hey guys! Everything set?" Cyborg barged in unannounced.

"What're you doing here Cyborg?" Robin asked.

"Like you two are the only ones that want to see what's on that disc." He chuckled.

Raven sighed, "Anyone else came with you?"

"Nah, Star and BB took Raiden to the mall."

"Fine, you can stay and watch." Robin inserted the disc in one of the main computer's drives and as it began, Cyborg pulled out a bag of popcorn out of thin air. A video reel filled the screen and people who were dressed formally could be seen sitting in well-placed chairs. Robin's eyes widened, "Is this the wedding?"

"Looks like it." Raven nodded, secretly growing nervous.

The one recording began to speak, "Okay where's the bride and groom?" The camera eased to the right towards an altar, "There they are!" The trio couldn't hold in their gasps as the camera revealed those standing near/at the altar. The versions of Robin and Raven from the photo and the officiant that was conducting the ceremony was…Robin and Raven turned to Cyborg. It was him…an older version of him that was missing all his cyber parts.

Cyborg's mouth laid agape as he pointed a finger at the screen and turned to his two friends. Then he turned back to the screen, "Damn I look good!" Raven and Robin fell over in their seats.

Those in attendance on screen quieted down as the two at the altar began to exchange personal vows. The camera zoomed in on older Robin,
"I, Richard Dick Grayson, with this ring dedicate my life and soul as a symbol of my undying love for this woman, Rachel Roth. This woman who I promise to love for all eternity no matter what. This includes the good times and the bad, where we might disagree on things like how to deal with criminals." Chuckles could be heard from some in attendance. "Even if those bad times are worse than that…I'll love her for the rest of my life and our bond shall last forever, even after death." Older Robin's ending vows was followed by him placing a delicate ring upon the hand of the woman who stood across from him.

It was now her turn, "I, Rachel Roth, with this ring accept this wonderful man, Richard Grayson, into my life without end. Never will I leave his side for anything in this world or beyond it." She lowered her head and it seemed like she was holding back tears. "Richard…as Robin and Nightwing, you never gave up on me. For so long I kept telling myself that I deserved to be alone…that there was no way that you could love me.' She lifted her head to lock gazes with him, tears streaming down gently over her cheeks, "But on several occasions you proved those doubts to be false. So, I give my life to you, placing it in no one else's hands but yours. Love is not foreign to me anymore because of you and there's no one else I'd rather take this step with than you. I…love YOU…so…*choke*…so much and you will forever be MY Robin and best friend." Before older Cyborg could pronounce them husband and wife, Richard pulled Rachel into him and kissed her as if they were the only two there. His ring was still in her hand as those in attendance roared in applause and older Cy simply threw his hands up in defeat.

The trio that sat in the control room were focused on the screen in awe, feeling a mix of emotions of the ceremony they just watched. Cyborg was the first to stand, mind a bit twisted, "Wow, that was…DEEP. I'm gonna go uh…get some fresh air." He left the room leaving the other two alone once again.

"How is this…possible?" Raven tried to compose herself because the words of Rachel hit emotions within her that she's tried to avoid.

Robin shook his head, "I…I honestly don't know Raven."

"It looks so real…their words sounded like…"

"Us?" Robin turned to her and she nodded. At that moment, that unusual feeling from earlier that morning, stirred within them again.

Raven looked down at herself, "Did you feel that one too?"

"Yeah, I did." Robin looked down at himself and swore he noticed something, "Do I look taller to you by any chance?"

The girl sighed, "I thought we agreed never to talk about your growth spurt until it actually begins."

"Not that!" Robin stood and spread out his arms a bit, "Just be serious and take a look."

She did what he asked, "You know what…maybe. That's weird." Robin nodded before taking Cyborg's seat, sitting right next to her.

The video reel had continued, showing the cutting of the wedding cake and the reception with everyone dancing. Apparently, it was an older version of Beastboy that was doing the recording which they got a kick out of. Bruce Wayne was in attendance and sharing a dance with Diana Prince. "Crap!" Robin quickly stood.

"What's wrong?"

"I forgot to tell you guys that we're going to Gotham this weekend to attend a party Bruce is having." He groaned.

"Well tomorrow starts the weekend, Robin."

"I know, that's why I'm kicking myself about it right now."

"Would you calm down. The nervous breakdown look doesn't quite fit your image." Raven stood with a smirk.

Robin narrowed his eyes at her, "Are you trying to be funny?"

"You and I both know that I simply state facts."

"That of stating FACTS, was not a part of the question." He grinned slyly as he approached her slowly.

Raven took a step back, "Robin, what do you think you're doing?"

"About to take advantage of a certain weakness that a friend of mine has as payback." The boy lifted his hands as he dramatically wiggled his fingers.

Raven narrowed her eyes at him, "You wouldn't dare?"

"Who knows, I AM having a breakdown remember."

"Robin, don't you even thi—" The Titans' leader already lunged her way, catching her before she could evade his tickling attack. They wrestled on the ground as Raven tried to hold in the uncontrolled laughter that wanted to come out of her.

"Don't fight it Raven haha."

"Oh you are so dea-" She couldn't finish her statement as the laughter finally released itself and Robin felt victorious. "You will…haha…regret this…haha! I'm going to kill you!"
Starfire had entered the room moments ago and simply watched the two from a distance. It normally didn't bother her when her friends exchanged acts of affection…but something seemed different somehow.

Suddenly Raiden appeared on her right side with a smile, "It's nice to see mama and daddy together again."

"Together." The word tugged at Star's heart as she and Raiden turned to leave the room. But she couldn't help but disagree with the little girl's statement. It wasn't nice and they were not her parents.
