My Little Girl-Ch 7
Over the next couple of days Penelope and Jasmine got adjusted to their lives in their new home, the team had had helped her bring the rest of her stuff and put it away, the women then all went with Penelope to get what she would need for the nursery so that her daughter would be comfortable. Derek and the other men stayed home and watched the little girl who only after a few days had managed to wrap the entire BAU mens section around her little finger, a fact that surprised nobody.
Rosemary had come for a couple of visits and was very impressed with how Penelope and Jasmine were adapting to their lives together as mother and daughter, she was almost impressed that how when Penelope was at work Fran and Derek's sisters would take turns watching the little girl. Penelope would work from home when she could but their were times when she would have to go into the office, that was when Fran and the girls would get their change to start spoiling Jasmine.
Derek and Penelope had been on a couple of dates, one out at Maurice's and one at home in front of the fireplace, Derek had even took her on a romantic picnic at the small lake that is up from her home where her and Derek could enjoy some time alone. Jasmine was growing fast, she was healthy, happy and safe with a loving family that would do anything that they had to do to keep her that way.
Time flew by and little Jasmine was now almost 6 months old, she was starting to crawl, a fact that pleased Penelope considering how young she was, JJ and Reid had told her that Henry had done the same thing when he was a baby, they had him tested when he was a little older and his IQ was almost as high as his fathers. Reid smiled and said, "if you want Garcia I can start pranking with her the way I did with Henry so when she's a little older you can get her tested?", Penelope said, "thank you boy wonder, that would be great".
The team was staying busy with case after case but when they were home they would constantly be doing family get togethers so that they could all be able to spend time together as a family, mostly so they could spend more time spoiling the newest member of the clan, Jasmine. Derek was spending more and more time with Penelope and Jasmine when the team was in town so the little girl quickly became dependent on him, it was oh so obvious that he was without a doubt her favorite followed up by Reid who was a very close second.
Penelope was currently in her computer room helping B team on their case and Derek was in the living room with the baby, she had been crawling around all day and Derek was filming the little angel and snapping picture after picture so that Penelope wouldn't miss anything. Derek was currently holding the little girl who had just finished a bottle, he was burping her when Penelope walked into the room, she headed straight to her boyfriend and daughter where she kissed them both before plopping down beside them on the couch.
Jasmine leaned toward her mommy and held her little arms out letting Penelope know that she wanted to be hold by her, Penelope said, "come here little one" and took the giggling little girl into her arms and kissed her chubby little cheek. Derek said, "she's been crawling up a storm, I took a lot of pictures and some video, I'll send it to your phone", to which Penelope nodded her head and said, '"thank you my vision, I don't know what I would do without you", he winked at her and said, "it's a good thing that I'm not going anywhere then isn't it?", she grinned and said,, "that it is, that it is",
Derek and Penelope were playing with Jasmine on the couch when Penelope said, "come on sweetie say it, say momma", Jasmine just looked at her and laughed, Derek said, "don't worry sweetness, she'll start talking soon and then she'll say it", Penelope kissed her daughter on the cheek and said, "can you say momma?", she looked at the little girl who stated laughing again and clapping her little hands as her mother continued saying, "momma" over and over in hopes that Jasmine would repeat it.
A few minutes later Derek couldn't help but smile when, Penelope pointed to him and said, "Jazzy can you say it, can you say daddy?", the little girl looked from Derek to Penelope and back to Derek again as she started smiling, both Derek and Penelope thought she was going to start laughing but she surprised them both when she said, "dada, dada". Derek looked at Penelope and said, "wh what did she just say?", Penelope said, "what was that Jazzy, what did you say?", the little girl looked at them and said, "dada, dada, dada".
Derek then took the little girl into his arms and said, "that's right angel, I'm your daddy", Penelope laid her head down on Dereks shoulder and was ready to give up for the day when Derek said, "okay Jazzy, I'm daddy and who's this?", the little girl looked from Derek to Penelope and said, "momma". Penelope squealed and said, "That's right, I'm momma" as she took the little girl into her arms and started covering her little face with kisses and all Jasmine could do was laugh while Derek watched on.
