Alastor falls unexpectedly into a heat for the first time in his afterlife he feels safe at the hotel triggering it. Alastor avoids everyone for a day concerned Husk concerns him in the kitchen. Alastor is surprised when Husk offers to assist him with his pesky problem.

Tension rose between Alastor and Lucifer from their first meeting and continued after becoming residents on the same floor of the hotel. Through their minor bickering, new residents are interested in joining, which excites Charlie, but not for what she had hoped. Friends, families, and enemies push their way to cause mishaps.

"Weren't they yours too?" Charlie tries to stop the exterminations a century too early, still just a child, and comes face to face with their Leader: Adam, the First Man. What starts as a yearly snag in Adam's joy ride of extermination turns into something unexpected as Charlie keeps trying to find a way to stop the extermination, and learns how everything turned out this way.
