A/N: Uh...hi. This is my first Helluva Boss story. This fanfic is mostly going to be just Helluva Boss but through my OC's POV. There will be some headcanons in this story which obviously the story might change if they turn out to be untrue. There is another story I plan to write later as I get this story caught up with the actual show. It'll sort of be half canon as it'll be canon to this story but obviously not quite canon to the actual show. Maggie is basically my self insert OC, so it's basically me if I was in the show. I tend to make my self insert OCs related to my favorite characters, and Moxxie has been top of my favs list for awhile. Uh I guess if you have any questions, leave a review and I'll try to answer them without spoiling.
Helluva Boss is owned by Vivziepop
Maggie Knowlastname is owned by me.
If the text is bold, it's her narrating. The story is mostly 3rd person, but I will also have her narrating some things.
Inside a dimly lit office, two imps listened to their client talk about how she died. The taller one sat at his desk, looking bored, while the smaller one stood with a clipboard in her arms. This…was her story.
So, you're probably wondering who that little imp is with the clipboard since the camera is so focused on her. Well, that's me. The name's Maggie, Maggie Knolastname. My full name is Magenta, but for Satan's sake, please don't call me that. That tall imp sitting at the desk? That's my boss, Blitzø. The O is silent, and I have no fucking idea why. I'm guessing you're curious what it is we do. Well…in short, we kill people. We are the Immediate Murder Professionals or I.M.P for short. Clever acronym for our species.
"I mean, was she hotter?" Blitzø asked, earning a disapproving glare from his secretary.
"Sir!" she screeched as the client also glared, "I'm so sorry about him."
Blitzø smirked unapologetically, "I'm just saying, I had a hard time understanding the unprompted melodrama you just spat at me, tits."
Yeah…Blitzø isn't exactly what I'd call professional. This is the bull shit I deal with on a daily basis, but it could be worse. At least I get to work with my brother. Oh Blitzø? No, he's not my brother. We'll get to him. Our client is Mrs. Mayberry, formerly a teacher in her human life.
The client seethed in anger with a glowing red aura.
"Anywayyyy, I don't think you quite understand how we're operating down here," Blitzø stood as Mrs. Mayberry glared at him, "See, we take revenge out on the living, and it sounds like the core cast of your sitcom of death frankly are all probably down here in Hell with you. Boop!"
Blitzø poked Mayberry's nose as Maggie rolled her eyes, but she had to admit her boss was probably right. From the sounds of the story, she had no reason to be there…unless…
"Not…all of them," Mrs. Mayberry replied, clenching her claws, "That whore survived. Now, they all call her a hero."
Maggie's glowing yellow eyes widened in surprise, "She survived?! But how?!"
Mrs. Mayberry then went on telling them about how everyone, even her former students, calls her a hero for surviving. From what Maggie heard, she's anything but a hero. She could definitely empathize with her client which was probably one reason Blitzø had her in these sort of meetings.
"SHE IS NOT A HEROOOO!" Mrs. Mayberry shouted with an echo as she leaned into the two imps' faces.
"I agree with you, ma'am," Maggie stated as Blitzø seemed nervous.
Maggie ignored her boss, and she turned back to the client, "I'm very sorry all this has happened to you, Mrs. Mayberry. Rest assured, you came to the right place for your revenge. I am assuming you'd like us to finish the job?"
"Obviously," Mayberry replied, "if I have to be stuck down here, at least send that bitch to Hell where she belongs too."
"Of course, we get requests like this all the time," Maggie replied, "now, if you could just give me any details that will assist us in finding this bitch, she's as good as dead."
I'll spare you the details of the rest of that meeting since I have to introduce the other teammates of the company. To be completely honest, I don't really care to remember the rest of the conversation anyway. Nothing interesting.
"Well, Mrs. Mayberry, it sounds like we have everything in order. Would you like to meet the rest of the employees here? I personally do not handle to murders, but Blitzø and the rest of our team are very good at their job," Maggie said with pride.
Mrs. Mayberry shrugged, "Eh, why not?"
Blitzø led Maggie and Mrs. Mayberry out of the office and into the lobby, "Guys! I want you to meet-"
Alright, freeze the image there! Perfect. Alright, let's go over everyone here. I've already introduced myself and our boss. I'll start with the panicking one with white hair. That's my big brother, Moxxie. We ran away from home a few years ago and started new lives. That female imp with the overalls? That is my sister in-law and Moxxie's wife, Millie. I live with Moxxie and Millie as I really don't think I can handle living on my own. The big dog that looks kinda like a wolf? That's Loona, Blitzø's hellhound and I think adopted daughter too. Moxxie, Millie and Blitzø mostly handle the killing as they are more combat trained than me. I sometimes accompany them, but it's usually for educational purposes. Loona is our receptionist, and she handles the calls. She…isn't always the most focused on her job. Okay, gonna unfreeze the image.
Moxxie, startled by Blitzø barging into the room, fired at arrow which ricocheted around the room. The arrow nearly hit Mrs. Mayberry, but Blitzø was able to catch it beforehand. He wasn't even fazed.
"...our newest client!" Blitzø finished.
The arrow had hit many places, including the bottom of a fish tank with electric eels. The tank wobbled a bit until it fell over, spilling out the electric eels. Electricity sparked flames which caused everyone to widen their eyes in shock.
"Dammit, Moxxie! I just bought those eels!" Blitzø shouted.
Blitzø and Moxxie have a…complicated relationship to say the least. I'll spare you the details of what happened next.
The group stood outside the building as some imp firefighters carried the eels away. Blitzø stood by a cab as Mrs. Mayberry climbed into a taxi cab.
"Byyyyye! And, don't worry, we'll get that skank in less than twenty-four hours or your first kill is freee!" Blitzø called out as the car drove away.
"When did we start implementing that deal?" Moxxie questioned.
"When you set fire to my office in front of a," Blitzø began with a calm smile, but it quickly turned into a yell as he grabbed Moxxie's face, "CLIENT, YOU FUCKIN' DICK SHIT!"
He then pushed Moxxie away, and Maggie helped him up.
"Now, someone PLEASE tell me that fancy book is still intact!" Blitzø continued to yell, clearly a little bit stressed.
I'll…explain about the book later…
"You mean…our only ticket to the other side," Loona remarked without a care, and she pulled out the book in question, "Yeah. Got it."
Blitzø got all cutesy-eyed, and he approached her, "And that's why you're my favorite, Loonie."
Yeah…they have a complicated relationship too. Loona does care. I can tell. She just has a weird way of showing she does. Well, I guess now is a good time to explain the book since I won't be accompanying on this mission.
That is a grimoire, a book of spells, given to our company to use. This particular book is the only reason we can access the living world in the first place. Loona usually holds onto it, though. The book actually belongs to a prince named Stolas. How Blitzø got the book from him…I don't know and I don't WANT to know.
Not that you asked, but I am asexual, so anything to do with sex grosses the fuck out of me. Do I care if anyone else likes it? Nope, but it's just not for me. For all I know, I could be aromantic too. To be completely honest, I haven't had much interaction outside the company, and even before then, I was very…recluse.
What? You wanna know about my life before I.M.P? Well, too fucking bad. I don't wanna talk about that shit…at least not at this time.
I will tell you that without Blitzø and Moxxie, my life would be pretty shitty. I wasn't that much of a talker when I met our boss. Hm…alright I suppose I can show you that memory.
A slightly younger Moxxie- -in an orange jumpsuit- -and Maggie- -in a fancy nightgown- -walked up to a door. Maggie stared at it before looking at her brother. Moxxie smiled gently at his little sister, and he put his hand on her shoulder.
"It's okay, Mags," he comforted, "this is the beginning of our new life. I'll knock."
Moxxie knocked on the door, and a slightly younger Blitzø- -wearing a similar orange jumpsuit to Moxxie- -opened the door, "Oh hey, kid, you made it. Who's this?"
"Sir, this is my sister, Maggie. I…couldn't leave without her," Moxxie explained as he gave Maggie a small smile, "Maggie, this is our new boss, Blitzø"
Maggie looked up at Blitzø blinking timidly. The taller imp gave her a wink and held out his hand. Maggie waved looking down as her tail wrapped around her legs. Blitzø furrowed his eyebrow.
"Wow, not much of a talker is she," he commented, "like you when I met you."
"You'll have to excuse her, sir," Moxxie began, "she doesn't do well at first with strangers…especially…men. But I promise you she will warm up to you, and she will be a valuable asset to…uh…what was it exactly?"
Moxxie was right. I did eventually warm up to Blitzø, and I've kind of looked at him like a big brother/uncle sort of figure.
Oh! I guess I could tell you more about life in the office. Blitzø likes to think of us as a family, and in some ways, I do too. If I were to label each person as family, I suppose it would be like this. Blitzø would be- -like I said- -the big brother/uncle…though I guess in some ways he is kind of like a…dad to me and Moxxie. I guess that makes things a bit weird since that would make Loona my sister/niece/cousin? This got complicated real quick.
To be honest, I don't know what more there is to tell right now. I hope Moxxie and the others are doing okay. It's been awhile since they left. It should have been an easy kill, right?
WRONG!
After a long time of waiting, the gang came back, and all I can say is. What. The. Actual. FUCK! Was up with that family?! Blitzø got shot in the shoulder, and Moxxie almost got carved by the kids! Hearing about how they would have been quick and easy had Moxxie not messed with Blitzø's shot had me a bit concerned for Moxxie.
With the office now fixed, Mrs. Mayberry decided to celebrate with a little party. Humans are even more fucked up than demons sometimes…
At the party, Millie cheered for Moxxie who seemed upset as he stared at the cake. Neither Maggie or Moxxie really paid attention to what the others were saying. Maggie didn't know what was troubling him, but something was for sure. She put her hand on his shoulder, and she gave him a gentle reassuring smile. He gave a small timid smirk to his sister, assuring her he'd be okay.
Later, Maggie and Moxxie were alone in the dining area as Millie needed to use the bathroom. Maggie took this as her opportunity to talk to him.
"Mox?" Maggie asked.
"Yes?" Moxxie answered.
"Are you okay?"
"I…" Moxxie paused, remembering the events of the mission, and he sighed, "I'll be fine, Mags. It's okay. I just…thought I could give those kids a chance at…"
Maggie blinked, confused at her brother's words, "A chance at…what?"
"I…thought I could give those kids the kind of chance we got. A chance to live differently than…"
Maggie understood fully now. Moxxie saw himself and her in those kids. She hated thinking about her old life, but she couldn't help it now. Moxxie sighed.
"I'm sorry," he apologized, "I didn't mean to make you think of-"
"It's fine," Maggie cut him off, "really I get it. Are you going to be okay?"
Moxxie sighed once more, "The worst part is…Blitzø was right. If I hadn't messed up his shot, we'd have been done a lot sooner. We wouldn't have gotten hurt or almost killed."
Maggie thought to herself, and she grabbed his hand, "Maybe…you had to see what you did. I know you have your reserves about killing children and mothers. I'm not exactly sure what that feeling derives from, but I do know that some humans aren't as innocent as they seem."
"Yeah," Moxxie replied, "those people were monsters."
"So…maybe it wasn't all bad that you messed up. I mean…everything happens for a reason, right?"
"Yeah, I suppose you're right. Besides…nothing we can do about it now. Let's just…shrug it off like any other job."
"Yeah, fuck that family," Maggie said followed by a giggle.
"Thanks, sis," Moxxie smiled.
"Anytime, bro."
So…yeah, that's pretty much what happened there. Don't worry, this is just the beginning of our crazy adventures. Stay tuned, mother fuckers!
A/N: So I was writing out the Pilot from her POV too (which has a lot of similar introductions and dialogue that I have in this episode). However, in the middle of writing it, I found out the Pilot is no longer canon. If anyone wants me to post the Pilot as sort of a bonus chapter toward like the end of season 1, I might. More of Maggie's backstory will be revealed as the story progresses. This episode kinda revealed a bit more than I meant to this early on, but I was trying to think of what she could be doing while Moxxie, Millie and Blitzø were in the human world. Some chapters might be two episodes if she doesn't have much of a part in certain episodes. One I can think of for sure is Ozzie's and Queen Bee. We'll see her briefly in Ozzie's but then we're going to skip ahead to Queen Bee which you'll see why.
Would appreciate reviews and if you have questions, go for it! Thanks! See you in the next chapter!
