Author's note: this is the first time i've written a what if terminator fanfic so please i would like your support on this story, this story may contain spoilers so if you haven't seen terminator dark fate then please turn away now. please note that i don't own the terminator franchise or its characters. the oc that's in the story here belongs to me so i hope you guys enjoy the story. but i will also answer some questions regarding this fanfic so please comment bellow or ask in the private message.
My name is Aaron K. Jones, I was born and raised by my parents in Arizona on October 21st, 2020, but at some point, after that year had passed... the government created an A.I., defense system called; LEGION and it became self-aware and it turned on humanity. The survivors called this event; judgment day... it all happened so fast that no one saw it coming until it was already too late.
on the first day: all of humanity's key resources such as electricity and the internet were suddenly shut down which was caused by cyber warfare created by the A.I. defense system LEGION.
On the second day; the government responded by attempting to use tactical EMP strikes using nuclear missiles to contain Legion... but the attempt had failed and Legion survived.
on the third day; the war between the world and the legion began but due to the nature of its attacks, global food networks were destroyed, causing mass famine and death all over.
This went on for many years and then legion began hunting small pockets of the surviving humans, while the other remaining humans went into hiding. People started fighting each other while others took advantage of the struggle for their own gain.
But then one person stood up, brought us all together and she taught us how to fight the machines. her name was Dani Ramos and she was the leader of the resistance.
before the war was over in 2042, I became a candidate for a cybernetic enhancement for super soldiers. legion was destroyed, but a REV-9 terminator; an infiltration unit was sent through a time machine to travel back to 2020 to terminate Dani Ramos before judgment day started. Dani then sent another superhuman soldier named Grace to protect and save Dani from being assassinated by the rev-9.
Later I was told by Dani that she didn't learn how to fight machines on her own during judgment day, she was taught how to fight them under the guidance of an elder woman, named; Sarah Connor, Dani explained that Sarah Connor was hunted by a terminator called a T-800 sent by an A.I. called Skynet to kill Sarah Connor to kill her son john Connor before he was born and how another Terminator called T-1000 sent by Skynet to try and kill John Conner when he was a child. At first, I thought that was insane but she was telling me the truth. As Dani went on telling me her story, I started to wonder what kind of person Sarah was when Dani met her. Still, this Sarah Connor sounds a bit crazy but now I understand that this Sarah Connor was like both a mentor and a mother to Dani, However I felt sad that Sarah Connor lost her son to a terminator but now I want to do something about it, so I made a decision to secretly go back in time to the year 1997 two years after Sarah and john destroyed skynet and the cyberdyne building. My own objective is to prevent the death of John Connor, It took me a while to power up the machine until I began typing in the location and date; "Livingston, Guatemala- December 1st, 1997" After I finished it I began stripping myself of my clothes and went into the machine. I stood there at the center of the machine i shut my eyes tightly as bursts of electrical energy emitted from it and the lights flashed really brightly filling the chamber with massive amounts of blue energy.

Normal POV:
it was quiet night in livingston, guatemala, for the sound of chirping of crickets echo in the nearby forest seem to sooth the people still dreaming in their sleep. But this night will be much different, at the edge of a pool at a nearby house, a small spark appeared then came another and later dozens more as a thin layer of frost grew out from the concrete. Now the frost started to spread across the pool freezing a small portion of it as a massive sphere made up of electrical energy begins to appear in a flash of bright light, carving a sphere-like hole in the ice that was made by it. then suddenly the flashes of light disappeared, in the perfectly carved sphere hole in the ice was a young man of short black hair, about 22 years old and moving. As he slowly began to regain consciousness, his vision seemed a bit blurry at first but soon his enhanced vision started regain its focus.
A minute later the mysterious man finally regains consciousness and struggled to get up out of the hole made by the strange sphere. He then starts to check his surroundings and seeing no one present at the moment, meaning that the coast is clear. So he took this as a chance to focus on his main objective; find sarah connor and john connor before t-800 infiltration unit or skynet terminator does. he notices that he needs to find some clothes first, after all he can't go running around naked otherwise he might get into trouble, however he manages to find a pair of adult shorts and a t-shirt nearby hanging on a rope to dry.
Next he needs to make sure that he remains strong enough to fight the t-800 to prevent the death of john connor, for the young man remembered that his augmentations came with limits. Like grace and those who were augmented with cybernetic enhancements are only able to fight at extreme combat levels for brief periods before their energy stores are drained. In the process they quickly become weak and are unable to fight until they are able to eat, drink water or intake certain medications like insulin.
