Chapter 1: Daddy Issues

The next day, Simon had woken up as he heard his phone going off again. Simon groaned as he forced himself to wake up and answered.

"Yes, hello?" Simon said as he forced himself to sit up and rubbed his forehead.

"Hey son, were you asleep?" Frank said as he asked his son.

"Dad, you literally just woke me up, it's seven in the morning. What is it?" Simon asked his dad as he wasn't really in the mood to hear his dad's voice nor talk to him.

"I was wondering if you wanna have lunch today? Maybe at 'IHOP'? Do you still eat there?" Frank asked his son as he sat on the bed.

"Uh sure. I'm okay with that. Can I bring my fiance with me or-?" Simon asked his dad as he began to sweat a little.

"No. I want this lunch to be between me and you. I wanna see you. Is Avery working today?" Frank asked again.

"Uh, Avery has a day off but she's busy today and Erika has school today. Mom and Aiden are working today, so." Simon said as he got out of bed and walked over to the window to look outside.

"What about you? Work? School?" Frank asked his son again.

"Day off for me, dad. I can take the bus to IHOP or have my fiance drop me off." Simon said as he sighed in annoyance.

"Do what you want son, but I just wanna see you only. I'll meet your fiance another time I guess. Anyways I'm gonna get ready and I'll see you there around twelve or twelve thirty. Alright?" Frank said as he immediately hung up.

Simon was gonna say something but his dad already hung up. Simon threw his phone on his bed and looked back out the window. It was nice and sunny outside as the snow was melting a bit. Simon then grabbed his phone and texted Taiga to tell him what's going on as he got ready. Taiga read the text message from Simon as Taiga gasped, nearly dropping his phone. He began to panic and called Simon. Simon was almost done in the bathroom as he didn't hear his phone go off this time as Taiga gasped and called Simon again. Simon wiped his face and hands and saw that his phone was ringing. He picked it up and answered it.

"Hey babe. I'm sorry I missed your first call, I was getting ready to meet my dad…" Simon said as he sighed.

"Love, are you sure you wanna do this? I don't want you to be hurt after you are done seeing him." Taiga said as he frowned.

"I asked him if I can bring you but he's not interested right now, babe. I'll be okay. Really. I'll just be there for an hour and I'll come right home. Okay?" Simon said as he walked out of the bathroom and headed downstairs to the kitchen.

"Is your mom home? I wanna come over and see what we can do to help, love." Taiga suggested.

"Yes she's home. She's waking up now. Just come on by love. I'm sorry for ditching you last time." Simon said as he sat on the counter.

"It's okay love. I'm coming over right now. Be there in fifteen minutes." Taiga said as he smiled and got ready.

Simon smiled as he ate some fruit with a Strawberry-Banana Naked Drink. Cynthia came downstairs as she saw her son and sniffled. Simon jumped off the counter and looked at his mom.

"Mommy? Are you crying?" Simon asked her as he walked up to her.

Cynthia sniffled and hugged her son back. "Baby boy, are you sure you wanna do this? You can just tell him that something came up and you're busy too." Cynthia said as she blew her nose.

"It's too late mom. He's on his way to the restaurant and I have to meet him there plus he doesn't wanna meet Taiga which sucks cause I think he should." Simon said as he sighed.

Cynthia only nodded. "Well, I hope it'll go well. He still hasn't changed. But I don't want him hurting you." Cynthia said as she looked out the window seeing Taiga walking up to the door.

Simon smiled as he ran to the door and hurriedly opened it as he hugged Taiga. Taiga blinked as he smiled and hugged him back. Cynthia walked up to them and gave them a smile.

"Taiga, you're welcome to stay here till Simon gets back from meeting his father. I don't want him to get hurt." Cynthia suggested as she smiled a bit.

"Thanks. Babe, are you sure you're gonna be okay?" Taiga asked Simon one last time.

"Yes. Besides, I'll probably just walk around a store till it's like twelve or so. But really I'll be okay." Simon told them as he smiled.

"Alright dear, here is some extra cash for you or in case your dad wants you to pay and call us if anything goes wrong, alright dear?" Cynthia asked him as she hugged her son.

"Thanks mom. I'll be okay." Simon said as he hugged his mom back and gave Taiga a kiss on the cheek as he smiled at him.

Taiga smiled back as he and Cynthia watched Simon walk out of the house and walk down the street to use the bus to get to 'IHOP'. Both Cynthia and Taiga sighed as they were extremely worried about Simon. Simon got on the bus as he sat on the way back and sighed. He took out his phone as he texted his dad.

"Hey dad, I'm on my way. I'm taking the bus there." Simon sent the text as he sighed and put his phone back into his Hot Pink Black heart shaped purse. It was soft and had a lavender scented hand sanitizer hooked onto the purse. Simon touched it as he felt calm and then looked at the entrance who was coming in. Simon gasped as he saw Yuri.

Yuri walked in as she sat on the front of the bus and put her head on the window. Simon gasped as he texted Yuri and waited for Yuri to check her phone. Yuri did so as she gasped and looked up seeing Simon waving at her. Yuri waited for the bus to be at the stop light as she stood up and walked up to Simon and sat across from him.

"Simon! Hi. I didn't see you. I'm sorry, I'm going through an extremely hard time." Yuri said as she sniffled.

"What's going on, Yuri? I have never seen you this down before. Did you and Emilia broke up?" Simon asked her as he dug into his purse to find some tissue for her.

"We're doing great. It's my dads. They're getting a divorce. Me and Yoichi left the house to avoid their fighting and screaming." Yuri said as she cried again.

Simon gasped. "Yuri, why? You don't have to tell me, if you're not comfortable." Simon asked as he handed her a pack of small tissue for Yuri to use.

"Apparently, while dad was cleaning their room, he ended up seeing a journal on the floor. Yoshi was downstairs cleaning, so my dad was a damn sneak and violated the journal and just over the weekend Yoshi confessed in the journal that he still has feelings for Aiden and wants to be with him insead. After dad got done reading it, he screamed at Yoshi and let's just say that the argument had been going on for almost three hours so me and Yoichi left the house to get away from it." Yuri said as she blew into the tissue.

"Yuri, I'm so sorry to hear that. But are you sure it's a divorce they're going for?" Simon asked her as he rubbed her shoulder.

"Yes. My dad asked Yoshi if they wanted to divorce and Yoshi said 'yes' So that's where it all went downhill. Me and Yoichi are very shaken up right now." Yuri said as she sniffled.

Simon frowned. "I'm sorry to hear that, Yuri. If you need anything please reach out to me, okay?" Simon said as he pulled the cord to get off.

Yuri nodded as she stood up and walked to the door. Simon followed her as the bus driver stopped and the two thanked him as they got off.

"Oh, are you going to eat at IHOP too?" Simon asked her as he smiled.

"I'm heading inside the store for a bit. I might buy a few things and head to Emilia's." Yuri said to Simon as she sighed.

Simon nodded as he hugged her. "Good luck. I'll see you later." Simon said as he smiled and walked into 'iHop', Yuri smiled at him and walked into the store to get her mind off things.

When Simon walked in he gasped as a tall man was sitting down and stood up.

"Simon? It's me, your dad. I'm glad you made it." Frank said as he smiled at his son.

Simon only nodded. "Thanks. I'm very shocked to see you too, dad. Did you get us a seat?" Simon asked his dad.

"I did. I was just waiting for you. Let's go before someone else takes it." Frank said as he and Simon walked to a booth that was reserved for them.

Simon slid in as he set his purse next to him and poured some more hand sanitizer on his hands and rubbed it. Frank smelled it and studied his son. Simon noticed as he cleared his throat and looked away.

"It's lavender, dad. The scent is my favorite." Simon told him as he smiled a bit.

Frank shook his head. "This world has really brainwashed you. I thought you'd be like those gentlemen over there." Frank said as he nodded his head towards a group of two boys sitting a few yards from them.

Simon looked at them as he rolled his eyes. "Dad, this is who I am. I've always loved feminine things more than masculine things. You can't let these things get to you, alright? This is my life. Don't let it affect you." Simon said as he sighed.

Frank shook his head. "All I want is some normal kids. Avery likes women, you like boys, and Erika is mentally challenged." Frank said in disgust.

Simon gasped as he growled at his dad. "Don't you ever talk like that about us! Erika has Autism and she's still fine. She just has a different mindset than others like me and Avery. Avery liking women doesn't change who she is. She is still Avery, and me liking boys or whatever gender I'm with doesn't change who I am either. I'm still me, dad!" Simon said as he huffed and sat back down trying to fight back his tears.

Frank shook his head and picked up the menu. "Whatever son, let's just order." Frank said as Simon ignored him putting in his earbud.

The waitress came by to their table as she took their orders, she wrote them down and walked off. Frank looked at Simon as he tilted his head.

Simon looked at his dad and groaned. "What? Dad, she's married. I'm not gonna ask her out." Simon told his dad.

"It's not that son. Since when have you been a vegetarian?" Frank asked his son as he tilted his head.

"Since this year. Dad I care for animals and mom's fiance is so understanding and makes real meat and fake meat. I'll be okay." Simon said as he smiled at his dad.

Frank shook his head again. "Yeah, you are clearly brainwashed." Frank said as he sighed.

"You know what, I can leave if you keep telling me that. I'm not brainwashed dad. This is who I am, you're just gonna have to deal with it." Simon said as he huffed.

"Fine. I just wanna ask, how did you meet your fiance?" Frank asked his son as he was trying not to cringe.

"We first met when he was with his friends raising a fundraiser for Camp Buddy. Then when I register for that camp, well let's just say that we've become close friends." Simon said as he smiled and blushed.

"Okay so how did he became your friend?" Frank asked Simon again.

"You mean 'boyfriend'? Well that's easy, we hung out more often and we had our hearts tied together." Simon told him as he giggled.

Frank tilted his head. "Right. Did this fool had any girlfriends before you?" Frank asked Simon.

Simon's smile disappeared. "Don't call him 'fool' dad. His name is 'Taiga Akatora'. And why should I tell you? Taiga likes me for who I am. Not because of my gender. I think personality is very important in relationships. Thank you." Simon said as he folded his arms.

"Damn. So he too is brainwashed. How can his mom and your mom be okay with this foolishness?" Frank said in frustration.

"I can honestly see why mom divorced your stupid ass. You never change dad. Your words speak louder than your actions." Simon said as he stood up grabbing his purse.

"Hey! Where do you think you're going, son? Our food is here." Frank said as he saw Simon walking off.

"To the bathroom, you damn buffoon." Simon said as he walked into the men's restroom.

Frank sighed as he sat back down, rubbing his forehead. "I'm sorry you had to see that. Thank you for our food." Frank said to the waitress.

The waitress gave Frank an uncomfortable smile as she walked off. Simon stayed in the bathroom stall as he was crying, texting both his mom and fiance what was going on and what Frank had said about Simon, his sisters, and Taiga. Both Cynthia and Taiga checked their phones as they both read the messages. Simon began to cry as he wiped his tears, he stayed in there for another five minutes as another customer walked in.

"Simon? Are you in here?" A masculine voice said as Simon stopped crying.

The person walked through each stall and every door was open except for the last door that was locked. The person knocked.

"Simon?" The person said.

"Who are you? Did my dad send you? Are you his son from another woman?" Simon said as he stood up.

"Simon, it's me. Can you please unlock the door?" The person said again.

Simon sighed as he unlocked the door and looked at the person. "Who are you?" Simon asked him as he tilted his head.

Jaxon chuckled. "Jaxon. Aka Jalin Dean. I transitioned this year." Jaxon said as he smiled big at Simon.

Simon gasped and looked up and down at Jaxon. "Dude, no way! You look so good. Wait, how come you didn't tell us?" Simon asked his friend.

"I wanted it to keep it as a surprise, plus Kieran agreed that I do till we see y'all in public or something. Well too bad for us that we can't go back to Camp Buddy this year in the Summer." Jaxon said as he sighed.

"Yeah, I agree. But…..did my dad send you here? I'm going to order a to go box and head home. He's really hurting me." Simon said as he sighed, he walked over to the sink and washed his hands.

"Actually Simon, me and Kieran are on a date and we kinda heard what y'all were talking about. Then I saw you ran in here and decided to check on you." Jaxon explained to Simon.

Simon sighed as he dried his hands. "I just wish my dad could have a healthy mind set about us. You know? He said that his kids are abnormal and mentally challenged. That really hurts hearing that from him. And he wonders why I haven't called him in years." Simon said as he grabbed his purse.

"I get it Simon. But don't let your dad's words get to you. You and Taiga are a lot happier with each other than I have ever seen. Focus on him and the marriage that y'all are about to have soon." Jaxon said to Simon as he smiled at him.

"Thanks Jaxon. Also what are your pronouns now?" Simon asked him as he smiled.

"He Him His. Thanks for asking. Come on, let's head out of this restroom." Jaxon said as he and Simon both walked out of the restroom and Simon took some deep breaths as he sat back down.

Frank looked at Simon as he stood up. "I already paid and got you a to go box. It was nice seeing you son." Frank said to Simon.

Simon said and stood up also grabbing the to go box and purse.

"Dad, if you want a relationship with your kids then you need to change your mindset. The more you keep having that mindset the more we won't ever talk to you again and we'll just pretend that you were never our father." Simon told him as the two walked out of IHOP.

"Son, I want you to keep your weird sick disgusting lifestyle away from me. I shouldn't have ever divorced your mom cause then I knew you wouldn't be such a sissy femboy. Or whatever the hell you are. I wanted grandbabies from Avery, you, and Erika." Frank said as he sighed.

"Leave Erika out of this dad! She's still a damn child! Me and Taiga don't want children cause this world is messed up enough for a kid to be in and to suffer, yet you're making it hard for us to have kids anyways. Gosh, you know what nevermind. I'm going home. I'm done talking to you cause all you ever do is complain how 'weird' we are, well you know what old man, we love being weird and we're not apologizing for it. See you dad." Simon said as he got on the bus and walked to the way back and sat down.

Frank watched the bus leave as he sighed and shook his head. He then saw Jaxon coming out of the restaurant with Kieran and Jordan as the three walked to Jaxon's car and drove off. Frank went to his car and sighed. Simon was on the bus as he spent on the way home crying his eyes out, telling his mom everything. Cynthia read each text that Simon sent as she had tears in her eyes. Taiga was quiet as Erika was next to him crying. Then another passenger came onto the bus as she sat across from Simon fixing her hair.

"I'm sorry. The wind just picked up and I don't want my hair to be ruined." Charlie said as she brushed her hair.

Simon looked at her. "Wait Charlie, did you go to Camp Buddy last year?" Simon asked her as Charlie turned and gasped happily.

"Simon hi! Oh my goodness I'm so sorry I didn't see you, how are you?" Charlie asked him as she noticed that Simon had tears in his eyes.

"Simon what's wrong?" Charlie asked him.

"I'm just having a really rough day, that's all. But I'll be okay really." Simon said as he sniffled.

Charlie nodded. "Oh hey, have you heard from Jalin? They're so inactive on their Facebook page and I just wanted to know if they're doing okay." Charlie asked as she sighed.

"He transitioned and will be posting real soon." Simon told her as he smiled.

"Wait…..what do you mean 'he transitioned'?" Charlie asked Simon as she was curious.

"Jaxon is now trans and uses he him pronouns and his name is Jaxon." Simon explained to her as he smiled.

"What?! No way! That's so exciting. I can't wait to see what he looks like then. Thanks Simon. Oh, I'm guessing that's your stop?" Charlie asked Simon as Simon stood up and walked to the door.

"It is. I'll text you alright? Bye Charlie." Simon said as he got off waving at Charlie. Charlie waved at him back as Simon sighed and turned around heading home.

When Simon arrived he saw his two sisters, Aiden, Taiga, and Cynthia all outside as Simon dropped his purse.

"Big brother! Why did you go see dad? You know he's mean!" Erika said as she cried.

Simon cried again as he hugged her. "I'm sorry baby sister. I'm sorry." Simon said to her as he sniffled.

Cynthia walked up to them as she hugged Simon, crying on his shoulder. Simon let Erika go and hugged his mom.

"Mom, he won't change. He won't change…he was so cruel." Simon said as he sobbed.

"I know baby I know. It has come to my decision that I'm gonna put a restraining order on him. So we can all be safe from him." Cynthia explained as she kissed Simon's head.

"You will? So can we block his number on our phones?" Simon asked his mom.

"I already told him and he said he doesn't care so just go for it. Everything will be okay sweetie." Cynthia said as she walked Simon to Taiga as Taiga hugged him.

"I should've stayed with you, love. I'm sorry. I wanna make this up to you." Simon said as he sniffled.

"We will, alright love. Wanna get your stuff packed up and ready to move to my place?" Taiga asked him as he smiled.

"Of course, love. Let's head inside." Simon said as he felt a little better as he and his family walked inside.

Aiden was gonna head inside but he received a text from Yoshinori. "Uh love you go ahead, I'm gonna stay out here for a bit." Aiden said as Cynthia nodded at him.

"Okay dear. We're just upstairs." Cynthia said as she walked inside.

Aiden smiled as he answered his phone, "Yoshi, is something the matter?" Aiden asked his friends.

"Aiden, I hate to say this but….I have feelings for you." Yoshi said as he didn't hesitate.

Aiden's heart was pounding as he looked around and was at a loss of words. Not sure what to say or do.

And NO, Simon's dad isn't "based" So keep that to yourselves.

I don't know how many chapters there will be because I'm gonna plan to write Simon's & Taiga's wedding this year. So be on a look out for that. (:
