John Phoenix had just gotten home from court when the phone started beeping to signify someone wished to speak with him.
John Phoenix answered it.
"John Phoenix pal we made a mistake!" said Gumshoe.
"What now?" said John Phoenix
"The marker we found in Mr. Stabbycorpse's classroom WASN'T ACTUALLY BLACK TEXTA!"
"Oh really?" said John Phoenix. He knew all along it wasn't actually Black Texta, he didn't say anything though because he thought it was funny that he pinned the murder on an ordinary writing tool.
Anyway time to finally reveal the truth.
John Phoenix went back to the school.
This time he took a closer look at the corpse and noticed it was stabbed twice. Curious.
Gumshoe looked under the table and saw a bloody knife.
"Woah pal look I found the murder weapon!"
Gumshoe tested the knife for fingerprints and got the results within seconds.
They belonged to Rowley Jefferson! Rowley got arrested.
John Phoenix went to the detention center.
"John Phoenix you've got to help they won't let me go home!" cried Rowley.
"Okay."
John Phoenix noticed a guy writing in his diary.
"Hey what's that guy doing?" said Gumshoe.
"He's writing in his diary beause he writes everything in his diary," said a student.
"Okay."
"Court time," said the judge. "Prosecutor make your opening statement."
"Okay," said Patty Farrell. "Killer was Rowley."
Greg Heffley came to testify.
"Rowley killed the teacher!" said Greg.
"OBJECTION!" shouted John Phoenix. "Mr. Heffley... YOU did it!"
"Oh yeah? Prove it!"
John Phoenix presented Greg's diary.
"YOU WROTE ABOUT IT IN YOUR DIARY!" he said.
"It's a journal!" cried Greg but nobody listened. They pried open Greg's journal and read it.
March 19th
Today I told Rowley to stab Mr. Stabbycorpse in the gut and he'd get good grades. And he actually did it! What a sucker!
But then Mr. Stabbycorpse woke up so I finished the job. Hope they don't catch me.
"ZOO WEE MAMAAAAAAAAA!" cried Rowley who was shocked at Greg's betrayal.
"Yes, that's quite shocking indeed," said the judge. "However diaries are private so this is illegal as evidence."
"YEEEEAH!" Greg jumped on the witness stand and did a little dance.
But then Manny came in!
"Bubby did it," said Manny while he pointed at Greg.
"YOU LITTLE SHIT!" shouted Greg and he got arrested.
Rowley was cleared of all charges, including attempted murder because John Phoenix convinced him he was manipulated by his friend Greg and the judge agreed.
