All this time, without even knowing it, Ruler had been played for as a fool. As a Ruler, her job was nothing more but ensuring the protection of the masquerade placed on this world, punishing those whose desires threatened it and those around them. So when various Servants began acting out, the Greater Grail itself called upon her to enact judgment.
"Ugh-ll." Yet this entire time, it was never the Greater Grail that summoned her. Never once did Ruler realize the strings placed upon her, guiding her movements and manipulating her for the dwelling evil's own purpose.
Protecting the masquerade of the moonlit world, that was not the role this thing had planned for her. Her true role was nothing more but to provide fuel for what was inside. Her…and everybody she could call upon with her Noble Phantasm.
"Ahhhh!" Command Seals vanished as they were forcibly being used in conjecture with her Noble Phantasm, Dogmatika Call. Her Spirit Core cracking under the strain of using the Noble Phantasm multiple times at once as she called upon all the other Dogmatika members of the church she once worked with. Such actions caused her to feel both ill and pain at the same time.
Behind her, friends and foes she knew suddenly came from behind, materializing all at once. Fleurdelis, the Knighted. Maximus. Theo, the Iron Punch. The White Knight of Dogmatika. The White Relic of Dogmatika. Guiding Quem, the Virtuous. People she cared for and hated coming forth despite how much she didn't want them here.
As she fell on her hands and knees, feeling her body breaking down, all Ruler could see was the Lesser Grail floating sinisterly as the shadowy tendrils waved in the air with one connected into her.
Her dear friends alongside her hated foes suddenly were aware. The summoning was complete.
"R-rua-" Any words Ruler tried to tell them were cut off as the shadow tendrils moved at the same time without warning.
"Eccle-" The first to realize something was wrong was, of course, the one she considered a sister.
Her mentor.
Fleurdelis was the first to be impaled.
"Yes." With a deep voice reverberating in her skull, Ruler saw the tendrils lash out and impale all the others before they could even react. Powerless, Ruler could only watch in horror and sorrow as everyone she knew found themselves impaled by the true monster of this war, with them soon turning into motes of light and vanishing away as fuel. That was that. Over so fast that it was like it never happened.
Her friends, her enemies, they may not have even been here at all. One could even suggest that everything that happened was just a trick of the mind.
"Magical energy confirmed. Attempting Divine-Spirit summoning." The Lesser Grail began to blacken. Acting as if the tragedy that occurred never even happened. Like there was no point mulling it over and simply moving on, as if everyone it devoured was nothing but a quick meal.
A deep glow emitted and Ruler could feel it. All the magical energy inside the Lesser Grail was being used up now. While seven Servants were needed for a wish, what laid inside had just devoured the summoned Servants it forced Ruler into summoning. They may not have been true Servants…But the energy they had was more than enough to make up the difference in lacking the final three Servants. Now, the only wish that would be granted would be for that which dwelled within.
'Ughhh.' Ruler was still around. The shadow tendril held her in place, while Rider simply watched in utter shock. The Servant having no idea what she should even do. Ruler did.
'I get it now.' As her body was slowly breaking apart, with literal cracks forming on both her armor and even skin, Ruler weakly looked up and understood. 'It still needs me, for a little while longer. Wants me to summon them again.' In theory, Ruler could bring out other copies of the Dogmatika members if she wanted to. While this monster already had enough magical prana in order to initiate whatever twisted wish it wanted, having more magical energy would certainly speed up the process.
Ruler couldn't allow that. While the monster inside was distracted, even if only for a little while, Ruler knew what had to be done. With the few Command Seals she had left, even if it would kill her, she gave a Command she knew would stick this time.
"Rider!" The remaining Command Seals on Ruler glew brightly. The tendril that still impaled her twitched, now realizing what she was doing. 'Hehe. Should have just absorbed me when it had the chance.' Not anymore. "Run away and stop this thing from being born!" Using them all, not only did Ruler give Rider her new commands, she also infused the remaining magical energy to strengthen Rider into an even stronger formidable foe.
"W-Wai-" Still, Ruler felt bad when Rider vanished, clearly wanting answers. Worse, she made the poor girl have no choice but to fight this thing without even knowing what it truly was.
'...Sorry.' Ruler thought as she felt her Spirit Core finally break and shatter. The tendril immediately began trying to suck in the magical energy she had, but it would only get a little compared to if it had absorbed her before she used all the remaining Command Seals.
Vanishing away, Ruler gave a smirk at the blackened Lesser Grail and shut her eyes. Like her friends, she was now gone.
"...no matter." While a bit livid, the Wicked Avatar turned away from the scene. "I still have more than enough." It's a shame it hadn't been able to absorb Ruler and use her for its final purpose. But as Ruler had already realized, the Wicked Avatar had amassed enough energy already.
Four Servants.
Seven summoned, if slightly weaker, Servants.
Leftover energy from Ruler, pitiful as it was.
Along with the Command Seals that hadn't been used and returned into the Greater Grail, now consumed. It took some time, but the Wicked Avatar had full command of the Greater Grail's systems. With it, the Wicked Avatar could alter certain programs and ensure that the only wish granted was its own.
In this case, true incarnation.
"No longer will I be restrained by just a mere card." Now it will be free without the need to be summoned by a duelist. No longer obeying the command to attack, or simply waiting for the next turn. The Wicked Avatar would soon be able to make its own decisions, alongside its kin. They would protect the world from devastation while also giving humanity the chance for them to reach their true potential. The most beautiful gift they can provide.
"But first…" Invisible hands began changing the system. In the outside world where its influence was weak and lessened, the Wicked Avatar had the Lesser Grail fall flat on the ground, powerless. Now, even if some mage found it, they could no longer make a wish in it. They were locked out and it ensured none could interfere.
Its view quickly changed. As the Wicked Avatar continued in altering the Greater Grail's settings with its newfound authority, overwriting the previously established rules, now the Wicked Avatar saw where it was. Inside the cavern beneath Ryuudou Temple, where the Greater Grail had been hidden.
"Perfect."
Deep beneath Mount Enzou, inside the caverns itself, a manifestation was finally taking place. With glee, within the darkness another darkness began to form. One that took the shape of a dark void that seemingly sucked in even the tiniest of lights while giving out a cold presence. Where at the same time, the void shuddered as it felt something about it change.
"?" Nothing was wrong with its 'body', nor did it feel any different. But as it began converting itself from a Heroic Spirit into a being with a true form, a true God, there was something fundamental inside its very existence being altered just a bit. Like it was becoming more than just a God altogether.
Well, whatever it was, such a feeling can be ignored. What's important was that it properly incarnated itself so it could finally free its kin from the void known as Imaginary Space. Only then will humanity revere them as the three came together once more. Where this time, nothing would reject them from the world.
"Although," The Wicked Avatar mused. "Releasing them will not be easy." All the energy gathered was being used all at once for its incarnation. Now that the Wicked Avatar was freed, all that magical energy would convert it into something that needed no Master or mana to remain in the world of the living. This of course meant that it wouldn't have enough energy to just free its siblings from their prison.
Granted, the Wicked Avatar supposed it could have manipulated the Greater Grail's functions and use that energy to instead release its siblings instead of manifesting itself a true body. Though doing so would cause the Wicked Avatar to remain trapped. No, it was better that it first freed itself and then found a way in opening an entrance so that the others could cross over into this realm.
But first, it must first gain its bearings. Already it knew that it was located in one of the keystone leylines of Fuyuki city. This was a location where, as it could have caused, the Holy Grail itself to appear. In other words, this place was the perfect ground for harvesting magical energy. Although, even with access to a high quality leyline, to open a portal large enough for his brothers to cross through would not be easy.
'I may need to suck in the entire leylines dry.' This would likely cause some problems with the land itself. Although such was the price if humanity were to gain protective Gods. There was just one job left, though.
If the Wicked Avatar wanted to create a gateway, it couldn't do it here. The gateway should form above it, in the sky. This will give it enough room so that the gateway can allow both Dreadroot and Eraser easy entry. The only problem was that it was inside the cavern with no open sky.
That can easily change.
Immediately the dark void began forming into something else. To ensure it had the space, this entire mountain had to go. Taking in Dreadroot's form would be useful, but there was a problem. Right now it wasn't the 'living Wicked Avatar', it was the Divine-Spirit Wicked Avatar. Until the magical energy it harvested converted it into its living state fully, as a Divine-Spirit it had limits that its true-self wouldn't normally have. In this situation, it couldn't transform into those with high-rank Divinity, genuine Gods.
Thankfully, it had taken the forms of different powerful creatures in the past.
Great warriors.
Three-headed dragons.
Even the forms of those it saw through the cracks during its imprisonment.
'And I know just the form.' Metal began forming and mechanical dark hazed eyes glew brightly. It stood tall and from there, its new mouth opened while the sounds of gears and metal grinded.
A mechanical screech gave off as a light formed in the back of its new throat.
Sitting down on the rooftop, Waver gave a soft smile as he saw Mackenzie Glen go down. Crazy that even when the man had long since figured out the truth, he still let Waver stay in his home alongside his wife. They're a pretty nice family. Honestly, Waver felt grateful for how kind they were.
'Any other person would have rightfully kicked me out.' After all, when Waver first arrived in Fuyuki, he needed a place to live at. A base. Somewhere he can relax, with a roof over his head, along with free meals. Mainly because for all his eagerness in joining the Holy Grail War, he was also short-sighted and had no plans in preparing a place for himself.
The Mackenzie's were chosen and hypnotized for his stay. Thinking about it, Waver felt a bit guilty doing that. Yet the married elderly couple had shown no problem with the violation he had done. If anything, they were happy just having someone staying with them. They really were nice.
"Heh. Guess I'll miss them." Not everyday Waver met such considerate people. They were preferable over the classmates he knew back in the Clocktower. It was just a shame that Saber couldn't say his good-bye's to them as well. Feeling a bit exasperated, Waver could only wonder what will become of him now. After all, with the mess this Holy Grail War had become, there's no denying he would eventually be brought in and interrogated.
Unlikely as it was that the enforcers would just toss him in a cell, seeing as Waver hadn't participated in the disasters that have occurred, he might still face some trouble. After all, he did steal from Kayneth. They'd also want everything he knew on the masters who so blatantly risked revealing the world of magecraft. That giant freaky robot thing would definitely make them upset.
'Here's to hoping they just don't take it out on me.' Getting up, Waver took in the wind that kissed his face. He really wanted to take a nap or something. It took him a while getting here. Mainly because after losing his rights as a Master, along with quitting, there weren't exactly any buses around that would bring him here. He had to run all the way back while avoiding the countless cops and panicking civilians.
Plus, as great as it was meeting the Mackenzie and relaxing just a bit, Glen made it clear he and Martha were already preparing to leave. Waver couldn't blame them. In the eyes of the city, for all of Japan, what could only be considered a terrorist attack using a highly advanced, massive machine, caused millions of dollars of property damage and countless casualties. Glen was probably packing his bags right now after they finished talking.
"..best if I help them." Even though Waver knew it wasn't his fault, he still felt the need to support the couple and at least ensure they got out without harm. It's the least he could do for them. Besides, it's best they were gone for the time being. Already he heard how Fuyuki was sending out a mass alert where the military would soon be coming.
As Waver began climbing down, briefly, he wondered if Rider would do what he asked, or simply ignore his words. Much as he'd prefer the former, there was no reason for Rider to listen either. All he could do…was just leave.
"..." … Man, that was more bitter than he thought. Sighing, Waver decided best not to lounge on the thought any longer and just get going. Walking down, Waver opened his mouth and was about to call out for Glen.
An explosion overshadowed his words while a bright flash briefly outshone even the sun. Waver turned his head so fast that it felt as if it almost snapped. His eyes then caught a glimpse of a blue beam of light coming out of… Mount Enzou.
From the outskirts of the Miyama Town, all the citizens had already been packing where many had been leaving their homes. They would return only when they felt safe. Such thoughts on safety were clearly shattered as anybody outside their homes or near their windows immediately saw the blue beam of light bursting from where Ryuudou Temple was at.
This also meant everyone, including Waver, got a good look as a chunk of the entire mountain suddenly burst apart… Where what could only be described as another terrifying machine stepped out from all the dirt and smoke that was surrounding it.
As it stomped out, everyone got a good look at what this thing was. Based on what could only be described as something similar to a lizard of some sort, it was completely mechanical in nature. It's composed of a shiny silver metal, with a shade of black eyes that glowed brightly. For a machine, it possessed some defined musculature on its chest, abdomen, arms and legs, alongside a set of dorsal fins that are bright black and triangle-shaped, aligned in a single row. All while it had two big wings attached on its back along with a massive cannon.
It then lifted its head and gave a mechanical screech that could be heard across the entire Miyama Town itself.
"...shit." That was all Waver could say as he saw this mechanical lizard of some kind continue desolating the mountain. If Waver recalled, a bunch of people lived on the mountain inside the temple.
Were they there when a machine taller than a building broke through from inside?
"Waver!" He heard Glen call out. Looking down from the rooftop, he saw the poor old man looking frightened. He couldn't be blamed. "We need to go! Now!" No denying that.
Of course, there was a part of Waver who felt he understood a bit of what's happening. Even with the shock of this machine's appearance, that may as well have frozen Waver in place, he observed the machine for just a bit. Because of that, he recognized it as something just like the very machine Rider rode. For all its appearance, it was in truth magical in nature.
"Waver!"
"Coming!" Not that any of that mattered as Waver quickly got down from where he was. Even if this thing, through some absurdity, is part of some Servant's Noble Phantasm or whatever, it's pretty clear that black-hazed nightmare didn't give a damn about the rules of secrecy. It broke through a mountain for crying out loud.
Still, even as Waver got down and was more than ready to leave with the Mackenzie's, a single thought dawned on him. 'Just what is the point of doing all this?'
The answer was something that may come sooner than Waver thought.
With a single mighty step, the Wicked Avatar, the Super Anti-Kaiju War Machine Mecha-Dogoran, found itself having the necessary room it needed. Its glowing mechanical eyes looked at the blue sky, where if it could, the machine would have smiled if it had such a function.
'Excellent.' No longer trapped within the mountain, the Wicked Avatar approved as it slowly shifted back into its default form as a formless being. As it lost the features it had taken, it was already prepared to become someone else. It's mind now looking back at all the wondrous beings it saw throughout every crack it could observe them through.
Men with large swords.
Beasts of unimaginable power.
Sacred beings that had fallen.
Mechanical lifeforms that surpassed biology.
Those of holy or demonic beings.
Even divine might itself.
However, what the Wicked Avatar needed right now wasn't something of might, but of calculation.
For as intelligent as the Wicked Avatar was, it inherently didn't have the precise knowledge of making a gateway into the Imaginary Space. That wasn't even mentioning its inability in creating coordinates that could target the weak points of the different textures of this world. As such, it began shuffling through any lifeform, whether organic or mechanical, that had such knowledge.
From brilliant men-
"Found it."
-to the inhumane beings of the stars themselves.
Unlike the Anti-Kaiju form, which loomed over buildings, this form was a bit smaller in scale.
But superior at the same time.
With a glowing face-plate and a massive build. What used to be colored a dark purple is replaced with a dark black. All while behind it, countless snakes rose and hissed behind its great frame. With memories of the living machine coming forth.
The universe was dying, with all accepting their fate. At least, that's how it should have been.
For some reason, despite the futility of it all, despite the universe soon to end, just before extinction countless of their fellow kind had foolishly decided they would remake their home again in another planet, another universe entirely. Creating an interstellar fleet itself.
It's a mistake. It was wrong.
So in secret, while the fools had finished sending the flagship designated as Chaos, resources had been gathered and created what could only be described as a super-weapon. One that would destroy whatever Chaos would make and just let everything die.
So when Chaos sent an entire fleet into a new star-system, the Super Starslayer weapon known as the designation: TY-PHON - Sky Crisis, was sent to finish what its creators started.
The Wicked Avatar pushed aside these memories. It had already seen them once before. How this 'living weapon' hunted the interstellar fleet known as Machine Gods and would attack them time and again. Until eventually, it finally succeeded by utilizing a sneak-attack when the fleet was distracted when they found the planet known as Earth. Taking down the Machine God designated as Flagship Zeus before they could make an emergency landing.
'Though, if I recall, TY-PHON still ended up fighting Zeus when he was remade by human hands.' Funny how life worked that way. Still, as intriguing as the Wicked Avatar found these memories, it had work that needed to be done. With TY-PHON, who had the exact knowledge and experience dealing with spatial coordinates and dimensional openings, it knew how to release its brethren.
Adjusting its position, the Wicked Avatar gazed up and made its declaration. "For the protection of mankind."
From behind, the astral-like snakes hissed before some of them moved and headed towards the ground while the main body continued floating. With open maws, their fangs dug into the earth where the leylines were just under. Magical energy immediately was absorbed, flowing into the Wicked Avatar.
"Yes." Lifting its hands, its palms became bright as immense energy was generated from them. Calculations were now being made at this moment as they pinpointed the exact method for creating the gateway for the other Wicked Gods. "Fire!" At once, the energy from the palms shot out and went directly into the sky.
Those who chose to watch saw this beam of light go higher and higher. That is until it suddenly just stopped, as if it had slammed against a wall. One that started breaking, where, if one looked closely, cracks were forming.
"Just need a few more minutes." The Wicked Avatar said to itself as it didn't let up. Already it could feel another force causing the cracks to be repaired. According to the knowledge the Grail gave it, this must be the work of the Counter Force itself. The defense mechanism this planet had in protecting the inhabitants.
Such a shame that it didn't realize the good the Wicked Avatar was doing. That by doing this, mankind and the world would benefit from the Wicked Gods. After all, it wasn't as if they were monsters. Soon, humanity will enter a new golden era where they will do whatever they want. To strive towards their ideals, towards each other, with no fear of consequences, morals, or ethics to hold them back.
It just needed a few more minutes.
In case anybody didn't notice, the bursting out of the mountain was a shout-out to the Godzilla x Kong film where Mechagodzilla did the same. Granted, it didn't take that form for long and has now become Super Starslayer TY-PHON - Sky Crisis.
It was also pretty easy to make it so that TY-PHON was what Typhon looked like before entering Earth and changing into a three-headed dragon from FGO. Similar to how the Machine Gods also changed when landing on Earth. Only this version killed Zeus and the other Gods before they could even land.
But that's beyond the point right now. What is important is that the Wicked Avatar is freed. And right now, it is both slowly turning into a living thing while trying to bust open a hole into Imaginary Space. If it took its time, it should have used the leylines to absorb the magical energy and quicken its incarnation. Then nobody would stop it at all from attaining Beasthood and releasing the other Wicked Gods.
Thankfully, it's using the magical energy to do both which is slowing down the process, giving the few people who could stop it a chance in defeating the Wicked Avatar. Even then, we only got three Servants and nobody who actually knows what to do. So…not a good position to be in right now.
