A/N:

Beast Boy = Beastie

Robin = Robyn

Raven = Crow

Starfire = Starbolt.

Cyborg, Kid Flash, Bumblebee, and Terra are all normal.

I own nothing...but the plot.

Chapter 9

Cyborg was just as surprised as everyone else when the small green woman padded over to him, holding out an empty plate and asking for some of his homemade pancakes. He was even more stupefied when she sat next to him and began eating instead of retreating to the quarters she'd made her own temporarily. Then to top it all off, the changeling spoke of the new game's promotion that they had both been waiting on and the new storyline it seemed to be composed of. It was a welcomed change, the half-robot decided with a small smile as he bestowed his ideas on such a topic, catching Robyn's eyes, who smiled behind her coffee mug at the exchange.

Four days prior, once the villains were rounded up, the other allied heroes quickly took to rolling back the cameras to figure out just what the hell triggered the quiet Titan's rampage as the sirens blared signaling that they were headed toward them. Cyborg's stomach dropped as he watched Beastie struggle under the metal-clad man and his heart twisted as he watched the sick bastard try and take it farther. 'We should've let him kill him!' The thought formed before he could stop it and apparently, he said it out loud as well because Starbolt coolly responded, "Yes, it is only right."

"Aren't we supposed to be the good guys, though," Speedy asked earning a glare from Cy. Robyn and Bumblebee who seemed to have conflicting convictions on the matter, if their faces were anything to go by, remained uncharacteristically quiet.

"She didn't want to be touched. Clearly!" The brown man found his voice raising.

"Friend Crow was in the right as far as I can see. One does not touch someone else's mate unless they wish for death. Halbeth of the highest order!" The golden alien's somber speech was beginning to make the Titans uncomfortable.

"Yes, but the man's practically unrecognizable now... despite what he...did," Kid Flash stated with a frown, "How do we defend that type of punishment to the media, let alone other Titans?"

"If he tried it with Robyn, you would have to defend more than that." There was quiet fire behind Star's words that made their eyes widen.

"Crow was defending another Titan. And that's that." Robyn stated decisively, voice sounding sure despite her earlier mental battle, "Bee, you can take whatever stance you want but I'm standing by him. If Adonis hadn't gone that far...then neither would have Crow." Her eyes shifted off to the side.

Bee pulled her eyes from the video displaying a four-eyed demon on a rampage. "Everyone is talking about Crow... but no one is talking about the pain Adonis put Beastie through..." Her voice was uncharacteristically soft, "And how he chose to do it... Crow's a hero in my eyes..." Brown eyes caught Robyn's blank mask, "Besides, we're Titans. We stand together."

They would get back to normal. They were sure of it. At present, Robyn and Bee shared smiles as they bumped shoulders, leaning on the booth to listen in on the nonsense B and Cy talked about chiming in when they felt they could. Eventually, Kid Flash and Starbolt came out filling up their plates and joining in on the otherwise normal morning, basking in the go-with-the-flow feeling it provided.

The chatter continued as the amethyst-eyed hero floated into the kitchen and began fixing his tea, eyes closed, no doubt blocking out the noisy start to his day. Routine was back on its regularly scheduled programming and everyone was grateful for it. Well, it was normal... until Beastie decided to tell Crow he should try some of the pancakes.

"I do not wish for any of that slimy concoction." His gravelly voice lazed across the table.

"But Cy really outdid himself. Just try it." She leaned over the table to where he was seated in the booth.

"Oh, yes, Friend Crow! It has a... tangy flavoring to it." Starbolt said almost sophisticatedly.

"Pretty sure that's the mustard, bud." Kid Flash chuckled at the taller men's antics. They were so fire and ice but seemingly still had a good rapport with one another despite their different temperaments.

"I don't want-" Crow was cut off by Beattie shoving her fork into his mouth with an expectant look on her face. Her partner simply glared back defiantly, begrudgingly chewing on the fluffy maple-covered piece of food. After he swallowed, he glared and said, "I said no."

"But it was good, right?"

"We don't share the same taste buds, Beastie." He stated, exasperated before getting up to leave. It may have been good, but he would never admit it out loud. Everything in his life was perfectly bland for a reason. Well, everything but her it would seem.
