Doctor Ivo Robotnik… A once respected scientist with an ambitious goal… To help find a cure of NIDS with Doctor Jennifer Robotnik, his older sister. However, through an act of treachery, he turned himself into a corrupt robot, granting him nigh immortality and access to greater intellect. Ever since that day of his treachery, he disappeared in order to plot his ascension into power, slowly building his empire from under the noses of the unaware populace. But one question must be asked… When did his road of evil occur and why?

In the Kingdom of Snow on Christmas Island, a plane lands on an airstrip as soldiers file in line, standing at attention as the snow above falls at an increasing rate. The plane opens as Queen Aleena exits with Uncle Chuck. Captain Jules kneels as the other soldiers follow suit.

Jules: "Your majesty. I do hope your extended vacation has been a restful one. Your people's growing concerns were beginning to affect the soldiers' morale as they had heard nothing from you in a while."

Aleena: "At ease, Jules. I have returned rested and ready to continue my duties as queen. But I have noticed a snowstorm approaching the area."

Jules: "We have issued a state of storm lockdown to all citizens starting at 7PM, an hour before curfew."

Aleena: "Very good. Jules, if you'll join me. We have much to discuss in regards to our next move. Charles?"

Uncle Chuck: "It is as we discussed, your majesty."

With the serious tone from the queen, this made Jules worry, but he did as he was commanded, ordering his troops to look out for any citizens and bringing them inside before the storm hits.

In the skies approaching Christmas Island, the massive ship, the Egg Carrier, floats ominously, hiding in the storm cloud. Within the main deck of the ship, Eggman sits on his throne, smiling his near perpetual smile as he seemed especially excited for this invasion.

Egg Robo: "Lord Robotnik. We will be arriving to Christmas Island shortly."

Eggman: "Excellent. Prepare ground troops for a full scale assault. Capture or kill, it does not matter to me."

A monitor is turned on as Snively is contacted, seemingly working on a robot from below deck.

Eggman: "Snively! Is my secret project ready yet?"

Snively: "You've got eyes everywhere, sir. Surely you can tell whether I'm finished or not."

Eggman: "You're lucky I'm in a good mood, or else lip like that would be your end. You will be assisting the ground troopers in the assault."

Snively: "In the midst of a storm!? What if I get frostbite!?"

Eggman: "Walk it off, you pathetic ninny. After all, who was it that said 'no' to becoming a robot?"

Snively grumbles a 'yes, sir' in clear anger before the monitor switches to a map showing how close the Egg Carrier was to its destination. Metal Sonic was watching with his arms crossed, looking impatient.

Metal Sonic: "I hope you're ready, hedgehog. Last time you got lucky… This time, I'll mop the floor with your face."

Back at the Kingdom of Snow, within a council room, several council members, including Mr. and Mrs. Rose, attend to both welcome the queen back and listen to what she proposes as her plan.

Mr. Rose: "You want us to do… what!?"

Aleena: "A full scale retreat off the island and to another location. This is to avoid a potential danger that may come to our kingdom."

Mr. Rose: "So you want us to up and leave our homes!? Have you gone mad since your extended stay to the Kingdom of Acorn!?"

Jules: "Councilman Rose, it will be in your best interest to be quiet while her majesty speaks."

Mr. Rose: "But your decision is nothing but asinine. Danger? What sort of danger are we in?"

Aleena keeps her composure as she crosses her fingers together, glaring at Mr. Rose with a deadpan serious look.

Aleena: "An enemy of unpredictable power. One who damn near destroyed all life on Mobius in a single day with the treasures in which the World Leaders are promised to keep safe. I have seen this danger up close as it took down the Kingdom of Acorn - a sizable kingdom of incredible militant power - at its weakest. And it had targeted Meropis as another kingdom of interest not too long ago as well. So that is why I feel retreat is a necessity."

Mr. Rose: "Poppycock! Where is my daughter Amy then!? Or your son!?"

Aleena: "Amy Rose and my son, Sonic, are both safe. Of that I can assure."

Of course, she leaves out the part that Amy was battling against this threat personally.

Mr. Rose: "So you say… I bet that brat is corrupting my little darling as we speak…"

Mrs. Rose: "Your majesty, if I may speak… Even if we agree to move to another place to hide our citizens, where would we go? And not everyone will agree to move anyway, so how do we handle that?"

Aleena: "I'm more than aware. It'll be a gradual change. Start with those willing to move, then figure out the rest as we progress. The sooner the better, but I know I can't force everyone's hand…"

She glances at Mr. Rose as if to use him as an example. But then an explosion rocks the castle, throwing everyone to the floor.

Aleena: "What… What was that!?"

A soldier bursts into the room as smoke can be seen down the hall and soldiers fighting intruding robots.

Soldier: "Your majesty! We're under attack!"

The soldier is gunned down as several Egg Robos fly in, blasting with reckless abandon. Aleena springs into action as she starts to let out a high note, conjuring a shield around the robots and crushing them.

Aleena: "Oh no… I knew it would happen, but…"

Uncle Chuck: "Your majesty! We need to evacuate!"

Jules: "Charles, get the queen out of here! We'll handle the evacuation!"

Uncle Chuck: "Understood."

Mr. Rose: "Those… Those machines… Are they human technology?"

Mrs. Rose: "Stop worrying about that and come on! We need to help with the evacuation!"

Mr. Rose stood to his feet before he's pulled by his wife to escape from the castle with Charles and Aleena.

Jules runs through the melting castle, the cold snow storm blowing in as soldiers tried to fight against the robot menace. That is until he is greeted by the sight of more Mobian-like robots.

Jules: "What the…!? What are you!?"

The robotic Mobian is soon joined by many more as they charged at Jules and his soldiers.

Jules: "These robots… They aren't like the others… This savage design… Are they… Were they Mobians!?"

A sniveling voice soon laughs as a hazard suit wearing Snively lands, wearing a jetpack and wrist energy blasters.

Snively: "Oh you're quite correct, rodent. These robots are what we refer to as 'Robians', Mobians who became volunteers for Lord Robotnik's newest project. And you're next on the list of volunteers…"

Snively fires off a beam of energy from his wrist gauntlets, causing Jules to dodge as the beams hit the floor and melt it. Though now he was conflicted; if what was said was true, then these were innocent people they were fighting. They'd be murdering innocent people… But if they didn't fight, they'd become robots too…

Jules: "D-Damn it… All soldiers! Knock down the robots! Don't destroy them though!"

Soldier: "B-But, sir!"

Jules: "Just do it!"

Snively smiles as he snaps his fingers, commanding the Robians to attack the soldiers. The unfortunate Mobians were being pinned down, either to be executed on the spot or taken as prisoners. Jules fights off as many Robians as he can, but he soon finds himself surrounded.

Jules: "Grrr… Forgive me… I know you're all not in control of yourselves right now… And I can't do anything to help…"

As Jules was about to be jumped, several crossbow arrows shoot out and strike the Robians, knocking them back as Mrs. Rose and Mr. Rose arrive to help. Mrs. Rose was holding a crossbow, indicating she was the one who took the shots.

Jules: "Rose! Thank you…"

Mrs. Rose: "Thank us after we've evacuated."

Mrs. Rose fires more crossbow arrows as she, Jules, and Mr. Rose run out of the castle and into the now burning town. It was a warzone in the Kingdom of Snow as people were scattering in a panic, soldiers trying their best to keep the peace and robots raining down from the sky. Jules looked up and saw the massive ship that hovered just above the city, the logo of the Eggman Empire looking menacingly down at the helpless people.

Jules: "Just like the Kingdom of Acorn… Only worse…"

As Jules joined the soldiers in an effort to evacuate as many civilians as possible, while the Roses escaped with a group of people quickly following them. But as Jules busy helping people escape, Snively walks out of the castle as more of its structure explodes from cannonfire from the Egg Carrier. He then spots Queen Aleena using her Mystic Melody to lift some rubble off a father as his family watch on in fear.

Snively: "Oh? Well, you'll make for a nice warning to everyone present… not to get in the way of the Robotnik Empire."

With a smile, Snively arms his wrist cannons at Aleena while she is distracted; Jules sees this and quickly charges at the little brat and intercepts the laser, getting hit through instead. Aleena spots this, her eyes going wide.

Aleena: "Jules…? JULES!"

Snively: "Grr… Stupid fool…"

Eggman's voice then screams over his comm link, causing him to jump in fear.

Eggman: "That's what I should call you, you stupid fool. I want the queen alive, do you hear me, Snively!? If she isn't in my Egg Carrier in five minutes, I will personally see you-"

Snively: "I-I understand, sir! I-It won't happen again…!"

Snively is then grabbed and tossed to the castle walls as a furious Aleena attacks him.

Aleena: "I refuse to lose my family again!"

Snively: "Lord Robotnik said to bring you in alive… But he didn't say 'unharmed'."

Snively smiles as he pushes back against Aleena, slamming a punch to her face before grabbing her arm and swinging her to the wall, pinning her there.

Snively: "Sorry, but this Eggsoskeleton Suit I developed increases my durability and strength tenfold! I'm far stronger than any Mobian!"

Aleena growls, but then a heavy blast knocks Snively away; Uncle Chuck, holding a robot bazooka. Aleena gets up, stumbling to her feet as she approaches Jules, tears in her eyes.

Uncle Chuck: "Oh no… Not again… Not Jules too…"

More robots rained down, this time with Egg Hammers following, marching towards the Mobians. They were not giving them the chance to mourn.

Aleena: "Charles! Go! I'll stall them…"

Uncle Chuck: "With all due respect, my queen… I refuse to leave anyone behind."

The Egg Hammers approach, readying their hammers for a golf swing. Aleena got ready to dodge, but then saw Snively aiming at her, ready to shoot if she did try to dodge. She and Uncle Chuck were in a bad position… This seemed to be the end. As the large mechanical golem swung its hammer, a figure dropped from the sky and conjured a barrier around themself and the two hedgehogs. The hammer is bounced back from the impact, causing the Egg Hammer to tumble over from the sheer force. Snively is shocked by this, lowering his gauntlets as he tries to see who dropped in.

Figure: "Are you okay, your majesty?"

Aleena: "P-Princess Sally! You came to help!"

Sally: "And not just me!"

Sally points out Julie, Tekno, and Rosie providing cover fire from various vantage points before a plane flies by; it was the Tornado, with Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles riding it as they flew straight at the Egg Carrier.

Sonic: "Time to scramble this egg… Ready, everyone?"

Team Sonic: "Ready!"

Sonic: "Then let's do it to it!"
