Here's chapter 3 everyone, this is where Hexside get's introduced. Also a few characters in particular as well. Plus, we'll also see just what Evan is capable of doing magic wise.

Chapter 3
I was a Teenage Abomination With my Teenage Mutt
Currently right now, it has been about three days since the incident with Adegast. Since then, Evans has kept a much more careful eye on Luz including Eda and of course King. In those three days, it had been a bit uneventful, aside from the occasional squabbles with the guards of course. Right now today, was the time to relax.
Eda was currently doing something else on the Boiling Isles leaving the other residents in charge of the Owl House, primarily Hooty because he tends to have 'accidents'. Even though he was the guardian of the house, he still acted like a kid at times, but then again, who doesn't?
Luz's room comes into view and she was lying face flat on the floor on the sleeping bag. " Soooooooo boooooored... " Her muffle voice was heard before getting up. " I wonder what Evan & King are doing? " She exited out of the room and began searching for them.
" King? " Luz looked through the living room. " Evan? " She looked in the kitchen and then outside the window. " Where'd they go? " The fantasy lover continued walking through the halls.
" King, what are you doing!? Get moving! " She stopped upon hearing Evans voice. " Come on, come on get up there! "
" Your not helping! "
" Oh, they are. " Luz opened the door making sure not to make to much noise.
She was defiantly surprised to see that his whole entire room was full of different objects from the human world. Pacificly the various amounts of movies, books, and manga stuffed in shelves. What stood out was the fact Evan was right there watching King play a video game and on a flat screen tv no less!
While she was curious to know how he got it to work, she also wanted to see what they were playing. Sitting down on his mattress, she saw that King was playing a tiny human boy wearing a yellow rain coat trying to get up to higher ground by moving objects around and using a lighter to help him see.
Luz kept quiet for a few more minutes because not to long after King was trying to escape from the boss who was blind, really short in stature, but had really long arms.
The small canine's character was now running as fast as it's feet could let it sliding underneath a steel door being held up by a small cage. The bosses long arms were stretched on the floor trying to grab the character.
" What do I do!? What do I do!? " King asked frantically climbing up some more cages.
" Pull out the bars under the door! " Evan instructed and that's what the little child did pulling out a single bar causing the boss to panic and cover the bars. The little child quickly climbed up the cage. Once the boss stopped covering the piece of metal holding up the door, King made a war cry jerking the control stick and sprinted towards the crushed cage pulling one last bar causing the door to slam shut slicing off the bosses arms.
" Yeeeaaaah! " Evan cheered rising his arms into the air giving the canine a double low five.
" Yes! Yes! I did it! " King hollered in victory spinning around and then stopped seeing Luz giving him a small round of applause giggling a bit. " How long have you been there? " The canine asked making Evan turn around to see another one of his 'roommates'.
" Just about five minutes actually. " Luz awnsered. " Where's Eda? "
" She went out... " Evan replied. " What about you? "
" I'm just bored... " She tilted her over looking at the devices. " Now I gotta ask, how do you have a working tv and game system? "
" Oh, that's easy... " Evan pointed to a small generator that had a small glass container filled with currents of electricity. " I use my magic to charge this thing. That's how I'm able to do all that stuff, play games and watch movies. "
" Yeah, I noticed that... " She gets up to view his collection. " Wow, some of these movies I've seen before and some I haven't. Did you really find all this stuff in the trash? "
" Most of them, but I always clean them. But if they're to scratched up or broken, then I use my restoration magic. That's How I got that tv and PS4 working. "
" Really? " She looked intrigued upon hearing this. " There's magic that can do that? "
" Hmhm... " He takes out a dvd disc. " Check it out. " He stomps on it and breaks it in half. " Broken right now, but with the wonders of this magic... " He made a small circle and just like that it repaired itself. " Boom, good as new. " He passes it up her. " See any difference? "
" Wow...There's no signs of damage...That's really handy... " She passes it back to him. " Everyone on the Boiling Isles doesn't seem to know a lot about stuff from my world including Eda, even though she sells it. So how do you know so much? "
" Eh, you can thank my pops for that. He got me into it. " Evan jabbed his thumb over to the photo on the dresser. Luz went over and picked it up.
" Oh yeah...I was wondering about that... " Luz spoke up as she glanced through the varies items in Evans room. " I remember Eda and the warden talking about him...How come he's not around? "
" I...I really don't know... " Evan anwsered sadly and gazed at the photo. " He just disappeared... "
" Disappeared? " Luz was shocked to hear this. " How long has he been gone? "
" We haven't seen him in five years... " King spoke up in a sad tone as well. " We've looked everywhere, but we can't find him. "
" I'm-I'm really sorry to hear that... " Luz said with a lot of sympathy in her voice even though she never knew who her father was. Gazing at the photo, she saw Eda who had bright orange hair compared to how she was now. King was right there with her along with another man that had a great resemblance to Evan. They all looked so happy in the photo when it was taken. " So, is that him? "
" Hmhm.. " Evan hummed in acknowledgement.
" Well, one things for sure, I defiantly see the resemblance...You got a little bit of Eda's looks but mostly his...And- " She gasped and gushed at the sight of him as an Infant wrapped up in a piece of cloth fast asleep. " Aww...You were so cute as a widdle baby... "
" Give me that... " Evan yanked it out of her hands with a blush of embarrassment on his face putting the picture back in place.
" Hey! " Eda rushed into the room looking really pumped up. " You want to see something exciting!? "
" Yes-Yes! " Luz anwsered anxiously while Evan waved her off.
" Nope I'm good. "
" Oh, come on, you'll like this~ " Eda singed wiggling her eyebrows making her son sigh in defeat.
" Alright, fine. How bad can it be? "
They'd now arrived at the shoreline where Eda wanted to go. It was a on some sort of beach.
" And I take back what I said earlier... " Evan commented with a blank face.
" Well kids? " Eda asked eagerly nudging her apprentice with an elbow. " Did you ever in your life think you'd see something as breathtaking as this!? " She asked motioning to whatever was in front of them.
And it wasn't something amazing. Rather it was something very disgusting. It was a giant dead slug, covered in various different large amounts of garbage, and large amounts of flies were buzzing all over it.
" I don't...like this... " Luz said nervously.
" Yes it doesn't get anymore inspiring then the trash slug. " Eda said walking up to the carcass kneeling down. " It makes a home, a life from what others thrown by the wayside. " She reaches inside it's mouth pulling out a rubber chicken throwing it aside.
" Until, blam! " She slammed her fist in her palm making Luz flinch. " It gets blasted by a wave one day and croaks from all the salt. " She brings out a pick axe. " And then we get to sell the stuff it ate. " She offers it to Luz who slowly backs away in fear.
" Please don't make me... " She begged in croaky voice
" Aw, come on, Luz. " King said walking to the side throwing down a duck towel to lay on. " It's not everyday you get to go to the dump and pick apart a garbage carcass. "
" Ah, nuts to you both. " Eda prepared to do the dirty work until Evan made her stop.
" Mom...Might I make a better suggestion? "
" Oh, yeah like what? " With a wicked almost evil grin Evan pulls out a chainsaw making Eda smirk proudly. Pulling the string it roared to life just like in the Texas chainsaw massacre. Luz covered her eyes with both hands so she wouldn't see her friend 'dissect' the carcass cutting open it's stomach leaving a large open gash spilling out it's contents. After it was done, Evan was covered in blood.
" Alright! Now that's improvising! Good work Evy~ " Eda said patting her son on the back and started going through what the trash slug ate. Meanwhile Evan threw the chainsaw aside he went over to the water to wash off, and noticed Luz giving him 'the look' of shock with her jaw hanging down.
" What? How do you think I found all that stuff? " Evan exclaimed walking into the water and dropped himself in. " Go buy it at one of those mega shopping malls you got? " He asked jumping back up. " No. " With the blood washed off he made a circle that hovered down instantly drying himself off.
Luz changed the subject. " So Eda, what if we tried some new lessons for my apprenticeship? " She asked as her teacher dug into the spilled contents. " Like, read ancient scrolls or mix together potion, or... "
" Ugh. That sounds like a bunch of magic school stuff... " Eda commented continuing to dig through with Evans help throwing stuff to the side whatever wasn't total garbage.
Luz caught onto those two words. " Wait. Is there a magic school here? Like, winding towers, cute uniforms, dark plots that threaten your life kind of magic school? "
" If you mean something that's like that harry potter crap? Yes. " Evan confirmed pulling out a frisbee and threw off into the distance.
" What he said and what's worse. They force you to learn magic the 'proper' way. " Eda air quoted pausing at what she was doing. " But magic, isn't proper. It's wild and unpredictable. And that's why it's so beautiful. I didn't finish school and look at me! Who wouldn't envy where I am right now? " She asked with trash now surrounding her with flies buzzing around.
" Lots of people actually... " Evan commented bitterly and elbowed her lightly motioning to Luz who seemed a bit down.
" Uh...Hey! Here's a lesson. " Eda dropped the pickaxe and grabbed her hand. " A great witch is resourceful, like this. " She dunks her hand into some sort of slime filled pod and she pulls out some sort of ball like thing.
" Oh, hey. Greasy slime ball. " Luz didn't sound impressed at all.
" Use your slime ball wisely, young witch. " Eda said sounding wise for a second holding her hands and grabbed her pickaxe going back to the carcass. " Back at it! I'll get into the stink nodes first. "
" Actually, if it's okay... " Luz began to walk backwards. " I think I'll head home and look at pictures of animals that are still alive. " She goes over to King who was in the zone wearing a set of plastic shades to rub his belly. " Love you King, you little beach peach... " He giggled at the attention he got and sighed in content.
Evan sighed shaking his head, already having a feeling in his gut. Now despite him wanting to see what he can find, he knew he'd had to play his role of good friend/fellow apprentice.
" Evan? " Eda snapped him out of his thoughts. " You want to help? "
" Actually, mom, I'm gonna go with Luz. Is that okay? "
" That's fine. " She awnsered. " Plus, more for me. " She teared open the gash her son made making it even wider. As Evan began catching up to Luz, multiple pieces of trash went flying by him and then a tuba landed right on King's head.
" Ow! " Evan was about to help. " This is awesome! " He stopped knowing he'd be fine waving him off.
Minutes later Evan caught up with Luz. On the way to the Owl House, it was really quiet and she was glaring down at the slime ball she'd grabbed earlier.
" So what's eating you now? " Evan asked breaking the ice.
" I just can't believe this Evan. If magic's just all about digging for slime balls, maybe I don't have the stomach for it. " She said bitterly putting into her pocket.
" Luz, take it easy. You'll be fine. " The warlock reassured.
" But for how long Evan? " Luz questioned. " I've been here for five days and I haven't learned a single spell or anything. "
" Well, it ain't everyday a human comes into the boiling isles wanting to be a witch. But your kind of missing the point. "
" What point? "
" Exactly. " They paused. " Mom is right about one thing though, a good witch is resourceful, this also applies to a warlock such as myself. And then there's patience. " He said trying to make a point which she was somehow understanding. " Plus don't forget, you can learn more from others aside from mom. My pops told me this when he first taught me magic. First rule. if you want to bring out the best of yourself, you can't give up now when it's only starting. "
" You can do it! You can! " A random female voice was heard echoing through the forest.
" Mysterious voice of encouragement? " Luz asked.
" Okay, not weird at all... " They both walked over to the bushes to where the voice was coming from. Poking their heads through a bush they see a young female witch. She had light skin, pointy ears and short blue hair wearing a pair of glasses. She also appeared to be wearing a uniform, a gray tunic with a dark gray belt, cowl, and boots Including a pink sleeved shirt with leggings to match. Right next to her was a book, a backpack and what appeared to be a large stone vase on a wooden wheelbarrow.
" No! Little witch girl! "
" Shush! " Evan quickly whispered as they watched her stand up and pace around.
" You can do it. " She stands up and starts pacing around. " Even if you get a bad grade, it's not a reflection of you as a witch. " From the looks of it she was giving herself a pep talk. " And my parents are right. There are better oppertunities on this track. Now get to school! " She steps on something. Hearing the snap she looked down and removed her foot revealing a smushed flower. " Oh no! Oh, little friend! I'm sorry! " They both watched as she made a circle glowing green above the crushed plant making it rain down little droplets of energy. This caused the flower to heal and sprout back up.
As they watched on, they heard something coming. Another wheelbarrow rolled up in front of the young witch coated in glowing green energy. The one who owned and rode it was another young witch reading a book titled: Magic 101. She had pale skin, two-toned, chin-length aquamarine hair that is brown at the roots and has a ponytail pulling the front hair out of her face, and her eyes are golden colored. This girl also had on the same clothing just like the one next to her. There was also a badge reading
" Willow! " She closed her book and the energy covering the wheelbarrow disappeared. " Wow, your so unoticeable, I almost rolled into ya. " She jumped down chuckling lightly while the flower died again.
" Hi, Amity. " The girl now identified as Willow greeted back bitterly standing up.
" Uh, shouldn't you get to class early to prep your- " A rattling noise was heard from the vase on Willow's wheelbarrow and then it tipped over spilling out a large amount of purple sludge with a single eyeball washing up and blinking. " Oh Willow. You don't have anything to show, do you? "
" Witch Drama! " Luz whispered while Evan shushed her again as they watched Willow raise up her hood blushing in embarrassment.
Amity sighed walking up to her. " This is why people call you 'Half-a-Witch-Willow.' " Rattling was heard from Amity's vase. " Oh, looks like someone wants to say something to you. " She took off the cover. " Abomination, " She snapped her fingers. " rise. " Purple sludge rose from the vase and it formed into a human like creature with three eyes two of which were on one side. It leaned down and groaned drawing a small star on Willow's forehead. " You're a...star... "
" Aww. It's like mine. " She tapped her badge reading top student. " But much smaller, and meaningless. " Evan narrowed his eyes at her. Already not liking her one bit. " As top student, it's my duty to tell you to keep at it. " She put her arm around Willow's shoulder. " Even you could get a passing grade someday. Abomination, cower. " The creature sunk back into the vase. " See you class superstar. " She wheeled off with a smug look on her face.
" Sheesh, what a bitch... " Evan said bitterly watching her leave while Luz stuck out her tongue feeling the same way.
" 'Oh, see you in class, superstar!' " Willow mimicked what Amity said. " I hate when she does that! " She wiped off the sludge while the two watched on seeing her get angry. " I hate making abominations. I hate getting bad grades. Ugh! I can't stand this anymore! " Closing her eyes tightly she snapped them back open glowing green much to Luz's surprise. Then from the flower large thorn vines sprouted out of the ground ensnaring Luz by the leg bringing her to her.
Quickly enough Evan jumped forward and with a motion of his hand he sliced off the vines. " Hey! " He got Willow's attention. " I get your letting your anger, but tone it down a little will ya!? "
" Oh, no, no, no, no, no! " Willow quickly rushed over to them. " I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to do that! "
" It's okay. They only went through a few layers of skin. " Luz said almost to casually while Evan kneeled down to check the damage.
He scoffed seeing that there was a bit of blood coming out. " You're lucky you didn't lose them. " He said making a circle of his own right above the openings. With a light shower of dust, they were healed.
She looked up to him with a smile. " Thanks Evan. " Luz then noticed Willow was getting into her face, a bit to close.
" So...circly... " Willow gazed at Luz's ears and panicked covering them up. The witch gasped in realization. " You're human! This is astounding! " She grew very excited helping Luz up circling around her. " A human on the Boiling Isles! How'd you get here? What are you doing here? " Suddenly, a bell toll is heard in the distance.
" Uh, I'm sorry. I can't stay. I have to go disappoint my teacher. It was nice to you both. " She walks over to her books and tipped over wheelbarrow.
" Wait! " The teen stops her. " I'm Luz, and this is Evan. Your names Willow, right? What you did with that flower and those plants, it was...wow! "
" Yeah, that was some pretty good plant magic you showed off their. " Evan admitted earning a smile from Willow hearing the praise.
" Thanks, but...I'm not even supposed to be doing plant magic. " Willow said sadly. " My parents put me in the abomination track in school... " As Evan was about to say something Luz rushed up to her all excited.
" Like, magic school? " Willow nodded her head at how close she was in her space. " That's so cool! I'm so jealous! I have a teacher but her methods are- " Evan cleared his throat glaring at her. " I was going to say untraditional. I bet she wouldn't let me enroll. But I wish I could spend one day there. "
" I wish I could get a passing grade for once. " Willow said in a depressed tone. " Then people would stop calling me 'Half-a-Witch-Willow.' " She kicked the pool of sludge making it groan.
" Hey wait, I know how we can both get what we want. " Luz spoke up and Evan frowned at this.
" Oh boy... " He breathed already getting a feeling of where this was going as they watched her splash herself with the sludge.
" Make me, your abomination. I'll get you a good grade and you get me into magic school. It's fiendishly clever. "
" What? " Willow couldn't believe what she was suggesting.
" Yeah, what she said. " Evan said feeling the same way.
" We saw that girls thing. It's chunks of stuff that talks weird. I'm chunks of stuff, and I talk weird! " Luz said very enthusiastically
" That's true... " Willow admitted blushing and giggled a bit at Luz's personality. " Okay, it's a deal. Luz. "
" Wait, are you serious? " Evan inquired. " You're really gonna take this offer? "
" I don't see why not, and just for once, I'd like to get a passing grade. " Willow replied.
" And Luz, you seriously want to do this? "
" Oh, come on Evan. This a great plan. "
" Uh yeah, no it's not. " The warlock said bluntly.
" Don't you want to see it? I'll be going to. "
" No. "
" Please? " She clasped both hands together.
" No. " He crossed his arms.
" Pleaassee? " She was trying to use the puppy dog eye trick.
" Read my lips. " Evan said getting into her face. " N.O. NO. "
" Pleaaaaase!? " Luz putted on a much more adorable look making Evan's left eye twitch.
He then gave a loud sigh of annoyance and defeat. " Fiiiine...Okay, since I don't have my cloak, Plan B. " Evan made a circle of energy above him and was engulfed in a puff of smoke. " Alright, lets get this over with. " They both heard Evans voice and looked around but couldn't see him. " Down here. " They both looked down and instantly fell in love with what they were seeing. Evan was now a little black Carin terrier wearing a little purple scarf with an eye patch covering his right eye. " What? "
" Oh, Dios mio... " Luz breathed picking him up having a similar look when she first saw King. " You are so adorable... "
Evan gained a shy look and diverted his attention away with a slight blush. " I know... "
" Wow, Transformation magic? " Willow was surprised while also gushing at the little canine. " I only read about it in class! That's really advanced magic. "
" As much as I enjoy getting the attention, we really should get going. " The dog said.
" Yeah, he's right we should leave right now. "
" Okay! Let's do this! " As she stepped forward Luz slipped and fell right into the puddle. " Great plan... " Luz said despite being in the goo while Evan frowned.
" I hate this plan... " He moaned.
Back with Eda she'd just finished digging out the rest of what the slug had to offer. She also apparently got a large clutch of eggs which she tied a sack on her staff. " Not a bad haul. That oviduct was loaded. "
" Ah. Lose apprentice and child, gain garbage eggs. " King commented sitting on a said pile of garbage. " Fair trade. "
Eda scoffed turning to him. " I didn't lose anything. "
" If you don't teach Luz right, you will. I'm honestly still surprised you hadn't lost Evan yet. " King thought differently. " And that's when I come in make them my apprentices. "
" Ha! " Eda laughed. " And what would you teach? How to get stuck in the arm of sweater? "
" Hey, that only happened once! " The demon claimed. " I'd teach them about demons, how to identify them, talk to them, raise an army with them and tear apart the world! "
" After they tear you out of the sweater arm, right? " Eda was clearly amused with his claims.
" You think you're so smart! " He jumped off the pile walking towards her. " Well, why don't we make a little bet where I can prove that I'd make a better teacher. "
" Okay. I'm obligated to remind you that that I use our bets to utterly humiliate you. " Eda said pulling a book titled: Eda+King One Sided Wagers. She knelt down opening the book to show him the results. " And...that you've never won. " It was true, King had lost every single one. " Oh, did I mention you lost every single bet you made with Evan? "
" I like those odds. " The little canine was determined.
" So how's this... " She picks up an egg. " Teach this Trash Slug to be your loyal soldier in one day. Prove you can be a better teacher then me, and Luz is all yours. "
" What? Why aren't you including Evan? "
" Because, even I got my limits. " She replied bluntly. " Anyways...If you fail, I change your name from King to... Mr Wiggles. "
" Well, when you lose, you'll have to...wear a shame hat and sleep in the shack and never come into the Owl House again! Ha! "
" Deal. " Eda opened the book and King stamped his paw onto it leaving a print. She tossed him the egg, only for it to land, and break letting the lnfant slug out sliding off his head. He caught it and watched Eda walk off.
After a bit of walking they had now arrived to their destination. " Welcome to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics. " Willow said and right before them was a large school made out of stone. It had the feeling of a castle but in truth it was a lot like the schools in the human world then more would like to think.
" I cannot believe I'm doing this... " Evan groaned peaking out of the vase while Luz was practically excited that this was happening.
" Remember to stay hidden, okay? "
" Got it. you heard her Luz, back down. . " The dog instructed and ducked inside with the teen. Willow used her magic to put the cover back on the vase as they entered the building. All while doing so, Evan had a very weird feeling for some reason. He couldn't explain what it meant either. Just only it was like something felt off about the school entirely.
Inside the many hallways Willow stopped right in front of her locker which was part of the many that were in fact alive. With a tickle of her fingers, the creature opened it's eyes and mouth unrolling it's tongue presenting her with some books, She took out the same one Amity had. Magic 101.
All the sudden, something bumped behind her. " Hmm? " She turned behind to see it was another warlock of short stature with dark skin with dark brown hair of lighter shades. Unlike her shirt and stockings that were colored pink, his were colored blue. For some odd reason, he was reading a teen magazine that clearly originated from the human world.
" Willow, you would not believe humans... " He said keeping his attention focused on the magazine.
" Humans? Psh. " She grew a little nervous. " I haven't seen any. What? "
" Did you know, that humans nail barded wire to their kids' teeth? " Gus asked showing a picture with a girl showing off her braces. " But why? Maybe to make them magnetic. "
" Actually, it's for storing treats. " Luz spoke up from inside the vase.
" No their not. " Evan disagreed and cursed silently at what he did. " Great, now our covers exposed. " This made Willow pale while the small warlock raised a small eyebrow in confusion.
" Okay, Agustus. I'm gonna tell you something. " Willow put the book down. " But you have to be cool. "
" I can be spool. " He stuttered correcting himself. " I mean, cool. "
" Okay, Abomination, rise. " Willow gave the signal telling Luz to emerge. However, she did it a bit more different way.
" Ta da! I'm an Abomination! "
" Sheesh, can you at least take this thing more seriously? " Evan asked poking his head out.
" Evan's right Luz, that's not how Abominations act. " Willow backed him up while Agustus dropped the magazine in shock gazing at Luz's ears.
" No. No...it couldn't be. " The warlock said feeling his own ears.
" Uh...Is he alright? " Evan inquired.
" He's the president of the Human Appreciation Society. " Willow explained. " Most witches & Warlocks aren't able to spot humans right away. But Agustus is an expert. "
" Where are your gills? " He asked.
" What do you read? " Evan returned.
" I know an Agustus back in the human world. " Luz said. " We call him Gus. "
" Gus? Nickname? Human nickname? Gus? " He was clearly excited and happy. " Call me it. Wow. Gus. This is the best day of my life. " The sound of a school bell ringing and screaming was heard. This obviously signaled the start of class. " I got get to spelling class. See you guys at lunch! "
" Alright, into the darkness you go. " Willow said and Luz playfully hissed going back inside.
" You don't gotta remind me. " Evan groaned joining her. " Just for the record, you owe me, big time. "
Back at the Owl House King was determined to his bet with Eda. Currently he was trying to train the slug into becoming his minion. Also for some reason, he was waving a doggy treat over it.
" Aw, who's a good Prince Jr? Who's a good guy? "
" Hey, Mr Wiggles. " Eda called out relaxing at a table with a mug reading #1 Bad Girl. " You're not gonna teach it anything doing that. "
" It's called positive reinforcement, Eda. And it works wonders. " The slug ate the treat and grew in size. " Ha ha! See? Now watch this. " He points another treat towards the owl lady. " Prince Jr! Attack Eda! Knock over her drink! Mess up her hair! " The slug wasn't listening, it was focused on the treat.
" Oh no, please stop... " Eda said not showing concern as it wasn't happening.
" Well, I haven't seen your student in forever. For all we know, she's not even loyal to you anymore. " King said while the slug snuck the dog treat out of King's paw.
Eda chuckled at this. " You wish. " She then grew curious. " But, yeah. Where is she? I haven't seen Evan either. "
We now see the Willow in her classroom and surprisingly there weren't that many students from what Luz and Evan expected, there was only four. Willow being one of them including Amity.
The teacher was a stubby humanoid creature with pointed ears, a round beak-like mouth with two fangs on the top row of his teeth, two claws on each foot, and narrow eyes. He has green, chin-length hair with a large bald spot on the top of his head. He has inward-facing green eyebrows and a small green beard. He wears orange tinted circular glasses with no temples. He has defined cheekbones as well. As for his outfit, the teacher wears a black shirt and pants with an oversized purple coat with a red lining. He wears a light silver bow tie around his neck. He is carried by a mauve-colored abomination with a sad, drooping face.
Right now there was a student presenting her abomination and there were boatloads of feet all over it.
" Hmm, to many toenails in unexpecting places. " The teacher said. " Fail! Pathetic! " This made the student sad as she went back to her seat. " The biggest abominations are all of you! If the next abomination is a failure everyone gets extra homework for a month! " The two other students weren't liking the sound of that idea.
He cleared his throat making them silent. " And the next one to come up is... "
" Excuse me sir! " Amity raised out of her seat. " But I'm ready to present, my Abomination. Rise! " Her creature emerged doing a pose amusing the teacher.
" I've always saved the best for last, Amity. You'll have to wait your turn. "
" Teachers pet. " Evan muttered inside the vase with Luz humming in agreement.
" How about...Willow... " The other students muttered upon hearing this while the said witch covered herself with her hoody.
Luz poked her head out making the cover come off. " Don't listen to them, Willow. We can do this. " She gave Willow a thumbs up giving her a bit of confidence. And now, it was the moment of truth. Willow rolled the vase ready to present.
" Uh...Abomination, rise. " Luz punched the cap off making them flinch and then jumped doing a twirl doing a pose with a face.
" Ta-da! " Everyone gasped in shock upon seeing this especially Amity.
" Abomination, bow. " Luz did that still putting on her act.
" Very impressive. But does it speak? " The teacher questioned. '
Luz improvised. " Uh, I maybe your Abomination, but your my, a-mom-ination. " She cuddled up to Willow, the students found it cute except for Amity who couldn't believe this was happening and the teacher laughed away. As for Evan he rolled his eyes. But he had to hand it to her, she was quick to react.
" 'A-mom-ination'! Splendid word play! A+ " He painted the grade on Luz's forehead making the students cheer. Amity meanwhile was furious.
The school bell screamed before coughing and Willow rolled out of the classroom.
" Wonderful work today Willow. " The teacher said. " Looks like we have a new top student. " Coincidentally Amity had just walked out and paused in shock dropping her book. She growled as her teacher took off her badge and walked over to Willow. She tried to protest, but he was on deaths ears watching him put it on Willow.
" Uh- Thank you sir. " Willow wasn't expecting this and the teacher nodded before walking off.
" Hey! " Amity took her by surprise confusing Willow because she was over by the door not to long ago and now she was there? " Last time I saw you, your abomination was mush. What did you do? "
" I, uh, took your pep talk to heart, Amity. " Willow anwsered but Amity wasn't buying and crossed her arms.
" I bet you did. I got my eyes on you, Half-a-Witch. " She walked backwards glaring right at her. " That badge is mine. " Amity bumped into a student and didn't bother apologizing before going around the corner.
" Uh-oh. I think Amity is on to us. "
Evan poked his head out lifting the cap. " Really? I didn't notice. "
Back at the Owl House Eda slamed the door open causing Hoot to hit his beak against the wall waking him up. " Have you seen Luz? "
" I heard her tiny mouse feet walking close by. Or that might've been some mice. Anyway, someone started moving in that direction. " He starts jerking his face up. " Hoo, hoo-hoo, hoo. "
" Are you trying to point, or? "
" Look at the weather vane! " Hooty said and that's what Eda did. The only arrow was pointing in one direction
" But the only thing that way is the- " She gasped in realization. " No...No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! " Eda ran as fast as she could in the direction the weather bane was pointing. After a bit of running she arrived at the grounds of Hexside.
She looked through the glass to see a bunch of kindergartens.
" Okay, everyone. Recite your runes. " The teacher said and that's what the children did much to Eda's dismay.
" No. Blind obedience. "
She ran to the next window seeing students working, writing on their papers. " No! Pointless busywork! " Eda rushed to the next window and saw Luz taking notes alongside Willow.
" No! " Her worst fears have been confirmed. " Why!? Schoooool! "
It was now lunch time and we now see them in the cafeteria sitting down with Gus.
" So Evan, I gotta a question for you. " Willow asked the dog who was underneath the table.
" Shoot. "
" How do you know magic? I never seen you attend Hexside before. Do you go to any of the other schools? "
" Nope. "
" Then how do you know magic? "
" Just my parents. " The warlock replied scratching the back of his ear. " I was homeschooled. Which was way better then this place. "
" Homeschool? That's actually real? " Clearly Gus had never heard of that before.
" You know Gus. Evan knows a lot about humans too. " Luz chimed in.
" Really? " He grew interested. " Like what? "
" Probably more then you know. " Evan said bluntly.
" Evan... "
" What? I'm Just saying, I mean you saw my room and what I got. That's plenty enough proof. "
" What does he have exactly? " Willow questioned in curiosity.
" A working tv, movies and video games. " Luz anwsered.
" How is that even possible!? " Gus looked under the table gazing at the dog excitedly. " You gotta show me! "
" That depends. Either of you got anything I can eat? I'm hungry. "
Gus dug through his bag. " I gotta an apple. Is that fine? "
" Gimme. " Evan accepted the offer and started eating it.
" So Luz, question. Do humans eat PB&JS? "
" Oh my gosh, I haven't had one in so long, please give me some. " Gus put it in half and Luz grabbed it with her mouth dunking back inside making Willow nervous.
" I don't know Gus...If Amity saw that... "
The table suddenly shook as someone jumped on it. " I saw that! " Speak of the devil. " Abomination's don't eat! " Amity said getting into Willow's face and peered down into the vase. " I know you're in there! You can't hide from me. " She was drawing attention but didn't care. " Who are you!? What are you!? " She grabbed Luz by the collar and started shaking the teen who was still holding up the act. " I want anwsers! "
" Amity Blight.. "
" Huh? " She turns to see that it was the Abomination Teacher giving her a disapproving look going over to her.
" I suspected a twinge of jealousy, but this...this is just sad. "
" But I-No! Look at it! " Luz was still doing a good job of acting making Evan hold back a snicker.
" Report to Principal Bumps office. "
" Bu-But...
" Now! " With a grunt she let Luz go and darted off with the teacher right behind her. As soon as they left, Luz emerged from the vase and exchanged a look of concern with Willow.
Evan meanwhile poked his head out. " Well that happened...And since when are you good at acting? "
Back at the Owl House King was continuing his 'teaching's' to the Trash Slug who had now grown immensely in size. He was still feeding it doggy treats. It wasn't just one at a time it was a large hand fulls of them. " Roll over! " He threw some and the slug ate them but it didn't do the trick. " Yes! Heel! " It didn't obey him but instead it kept following him because the canine kept throwing food. " Yes, yes! " He kept throwing more food at it and then noticed Eda had came back.
" So, you found your runaway student? " He got no response. " By your expression, I can tell Luz has gone and found herself someplace else to learn, and probably Evan too. Which means...I have won! " He cried out happily causing a few treats to fly that the slug ate.
" Yes, great, you won. " Eda said sarcastically. " You have a giant solider thing and I have nothing. Congrats! "
" Oh, Eda. Don't say that... " King walked up to her with his paws behind his back. " At least you have this! " He pulled out the shame hat cackling away making Eda groan taking the thing and walked inside of the shed all while King continued to laugh. " I am so, funny! " He turned to his trash slug. " Ah, well, Prince Jr. training complete. Go forth! Make the world tremble at your feet-or worm stubs. " The slug only stared at him. " Uh...Go forth? " He still got no response. " Oh! " King chuckled realizing what he wanted. " Right. " He picks up the treat box and shakes it, only to get crumbs.
The slug hovers over him, growling away while King was terrified of what was going to happen.
Back at Hexside, Willow along with Gus arrived back in the Abomination classroom getting the wheelbarrow inside.
" Are we good to come out yet? " Evan asked.
" It's okay. The coast is clear. " Willow anwsered with Evan jumping out sighing loudly in relief.
" Finally! "
" Whoo! " Luz exclaimed happily emerging from the vase getting out. " I'm a sweaty little abomination... "
" One thing's for sure, were gonna need showers once we get home. " Evan commented shaking off whatever he could off his fur.
" But on the bright side though, we don't have to worry about Amity. High five! " Luz held out her open hand confusing the two students.
" Just slap her hand. " Evan explained. "Iit's a gesture of greeting and celebration. " Gus stepped forward closing his eyes to do just that.
" Oh, oh my. " He continued doing it. " Oh man, what a rush! " All the sudden the door opened revealing Amity and she wasn't alone. She stepped to the side letting someone else enter.
It was an old man with a number of, wrinkles surrounding his upper lip. His skin is light beige and he has teal eyes and light yellow sclera. He wears a demon-like hat that covers up half of his face and traditional academic dress consisting of a long black gown with a gold yoke with a black cape, gold trim at the sleeves, and cape hem plus a blue stole. " Good afternoon students. " He greeted.
" Principal Bump. " Willow was now more worried as was Gus while Luz slumped down on her knee's while Evan was close by the wheelbarrow hiding from sight. The two students let him through allowing the older warlock to examine Luz turning her head side to side making a slight cracking noise in the process.
" Hmm. " He got back to his feet. " Abomination, rise. " Luz obeyed. " Abomination, Lie. "
" Uh... " Luz was quick to do so. " Viral fame is a worthy pursuit. Your cat would never eat you if it got the chance. Chemtrails are real- "
" Oh, no, abomination. " Bump was clearly amused. " How strange for it to get the command wrong. I mean, lie down. " He pointed to a nearby table and Luz was now beyond nervous including her friends while Evan was growing worried. " So very lifelike. " The headmaster commented watching her lie down. He then made Willow walk beside him. " When Miss Blight told me about your abomination, I had to come by, see what she's made of.
" Oh! I-I-I have the list of ingredients right here. " Willow stuttered searching her pockets
" No. " Bump stops her. " We were hoping... " He pulls out a knife from his sleeve. " For a closer look. "
" Willow, I'll allow you the first cut. " He gives her the knife and she smiled to hide her shock and leaned down to Luz.
" Uh, you can't just open a human, can you? " Willow asked nervously with a chuckle earning a 'no' motion from her human friend.
Bump put a hand on her shoulder. " Willow, go ahead and make the first incision. "
" Oh hell no... " Evan had enough and jumped up the table running across it and snatched it out from Willow hand landing on the floor.
" What? " He see's the transformed warlock biting on his knife. " Where'd that dog come from!? " A puff of smoke was made and once it cleared Evan had returned back to his original form taking Bump and Amity by surprise.
" Sorry, but class is cancelled for the day. " He said throwing the knife onto the floor
" Who are you? "
" Wait! Principle Bump! " Gus called out grabbing his attention. " Uh, high five! " He knocks over three vases containing a few abominations that groaned upon coming to life and marched right towards him. " Run! " The young warlock cried out and so Evan quickly grabbed Luz and with Willow they ran out the door.
Amity saw this. " There getting away! "
" No, the intruders won't get far. " Bump said as he walked over to a wall and made a circle and pressed both hands against the wall. Energy that made the circle erupted and then a whole bunch of different red glowing rune like symbols started filling the whole room.
Back with the trio they were seen running through the hallways and stopped to catch their breath.
" This is all my fault Willow. " Luz spoke up. " I just wanted to see what a real magic school was like. "
" Well, how do you like it? " Willow asked.
" It's lovely actually. " She looked to Evan. " How about you? "
" Eh, it's kind of annoying. "
" Okay, we should get out of here before... " Willow spoke up and was cut off by unusual sounds. Runes started to appear everywhere creating barriers which blocked all their exits. " Bump seals us in. "
Inside of the shed right next to the Owl House Eda was sitting up against the door wearing the shame hat. A lot was going through her mind, for one she was irritated that King actually won a bet and the second was regarding her student and only child.
She felt that deep down, she messed up and it costed her own apprentice. Sure she was weird, but the girl had a lot of spirit and determination for a human. Eda could very much relate to her since she herself was a weirdo and others shunned her away because of it. The only one who ever wanted to understand him was Evan's father. And he has been gone for five long years. She didn't know what happened to him, and as each day passed, her fear of the worst grew. All she had left of him, was their own child, a result made by their love, and their love alone. Just the very thought of losing her only child scares her everyday, and she wouldn't know what to do with out him.
" Help me, help me, help me! " The cries of help belonging to King snapped her out of her thoughts as the canine came in. He closed the door behind him and whimpered jumping into her arms. The door started getting banged showing something was trying to get in. Eda quickly figured out what was going on.
" Trouble with your student? " She asked in an amused tone.
" Yes, yes! " King replied fearfully as the slug kept banging against the door.
" Are you sure you need my help? Maybe, he just wants more of your brilliant lessons. " The door shattered and the Trash Slug roared moving inside and snatched King by the tail.
" Please help me! " King begged as he was getting dragged. " You can call me Mr Wiggles! " This is what Eda wanted to hear, taking off the shame hat she grabbed her staff and jabbed it hard over the slugs mouth letting go of King who whimpered hiding behind Eda's leg while the slug retreated outside.
" Okay, Mr Wiggles. " Eda started as the small demon climbed up her shoulder. " Here's what were gonna do. "
Back at Hexside the trio was still on the run trying to make there escape out of the school. The only problem was that the runes were creating barriers blocking every single path they tried to take. And if things weren't bad enough, Bump was controlling a whole horde of Abominations with intentions to capture them.
They continued running and along the way Evan pushed a Abomination over the ledge making it splatter on the lower levels. They then hid behind a pillar.
" Evan can't you just use your magic? To get us out of here? " Luz questioned.
" I can't, that old guy's magic is strong. I'm not able to! "
" Oh, this is awful! " Willow slumped against the pillar sliding down the floor. " I don't know what to do. Amity's right. I'm just, Half-A-Witch Willow. "
" You're Full-Witch Willow. " Luz disagreed putting a hand on her shoulder. " And your great. And someone once told me, great witches are resourceful. " She brought out the contents of of her pocket.
" That's it! " Willow grabbed the very thing Eda gave her.
" You mean that greasy slime ball? "
" No, Luz. It's a seed! Thank goodness you had it on you. "
She smiled in realization. " Yeah, good thing someone told me to hold onto it. "
" Okay, enough sappy talk. " Evan cleared his throat. " Can you work with this seed? "
" I'll try. " Willow placed it on her lap and made a circle just like she used on the flower earlier. " Please, grow! " Large thorny vines emerged from the see going everywhere, taking out a boat load of abominations and darted towards Bump ensnaring him and pummeled him into the ceiling. Despite the position he was in, he couldn't help but gasp in surprise. The whole entire area was now full of plant life primarily vines, some sprouting flowers and others dropping petals.
" Remarkable. " As he was in awe the runes he used earlier suddenly disappeared taking the barriers with them.
" There's the exit! " Luz instantly took notice and made a run for it with Evan and Willow who put the seed down.
" Not so fast! " There was just but one thing blocking the exit. It was Amity, and boy she was pissed. " I'm not letting you get away so easily. . ! " She tore off a vine that was on her. " Abominations, seize! " Two abominations came up to them. Luz punched one in the center making it break apart while Evan made a small circle causing it freeze into a block of ice.
He then turned over to Amity with a smirk and took the said badge off of Willow. " Say, were you talking about this? " He balled his hand into a fist crushing it making the witch gasp to see it was now a crushed ball of gold. " There! You happy!? " He flicked it right into her forehead making the witch flinch and grabbed Luz's hand making Amity growl in irritation making the Abominations continue their pursuit.
The exit was only just meters away from reach, but apparently there were already a few abominations up front making them stop.
" How many of these things are there!? " Evan questioned while Willow made a large circle and with a grunt she crossed both of her arms making the thorn vines trap the abominations.
Willow was showing signs of struggling. " Both of you, get outta here! "
" No! We're not leaving you! " Luz said.
" I may get detention, but you'll get dissected. " She turns to Evan. " Get her out of here! " The young warlock saw more Abominations were coming towards them. He nodded his head and heaved the human girl over his shoulder.
" Wha!? Evan!? "
" Willow's right Luz, we have to leave! " Making a circle out of energy he punched right through it making a decent enough explosion that cleared out the vines and the abomination. Once that was done, he ran forward as fast as he could not even bothering to use the stairs but instead jumped. The doors closed right behind them.
" Willow! Evan put me down! "
" Don't worry, she'll be fine! " The young warlock replied continuing to run. " Just trust me on this! Plus, we already know someone that can help remember!? "
" Oh yeah! " She realized he was right and then blushed a bit seeing in the position she was in. " Also can you let me down!? "
Back with Eda she was going toe to toe with the trash slug jumping to the sides avoiding incoming burning slime balls.
She ran forward and smacked it upside the head. The slug moved forward making her backup to the front of the house hitting it with the bottom of her staff. Up above the entrance, King was struggling to get a barrel into place, it was full of salt.
Eda looked up to her roommate. " Pour the salt now! "
" Baby boy! " King cried out sadly making the slug whimper sadly before it roared opening it's maw showing off it's teeth. The canine narrowed his eyes. " I have no son! Eat salt! " He pushed the barrel over causing the contents to pour into its mouth. As it did this, the slug shivered at the taste screaming away before some reason, it shrunk back down to size and whimpered away.
" Yes. I did it! " King cheered in victory bouncing up and down. " I'm amazing! Aah! " He fell off only to get caught by Eda and chuckled rubbing the back of his head. " You helped too. You are a good teacher. "
" I wish Luz thought that too. "
" Eeeeddddaaaaa! " All the sudden Luz came out of nowhere and hugged the owl lady.
" Hey, hey, hey, hey! What is this? Ugh! I never understand when you do this. " She then noticed Evan coming up walking slowly huffing and puffing out of breath. " And where've you been? "
" Questions later... " Evan said sitting down catching his breath. " Okay, Luz, say what you were going to say. "
" Your lesson worked! Keeping junk in my pocket saved my life! " She quickly gasped. " But wait. My new friends. They're in danger. "
" Luz! Evan! "
" Huh? " They both turned behind to see Willow running up to them along with Gus who ran up to Luz and hugged her.
" Seriously, what is that? " Eda questioned.
" Mom, it's called hugging. It's sort of the same way when you and dad cuddle. "
" That's what it is? " Evan sighed already knowing it was useless to continue explaining at this point. Since he was to tired from all that running.
" You won't believe it Luz. Everything is perfect now! " Willow excitedly informed.
" It's true. I don't believe it. " Luz said.
" Principal Bump was so impressed by my plant work, he's switching me to the Plant Magic Track! Look! " With a snap of her fingers she did a twirl making her shirt and leggings turn from pink to green.
Luz cheered happily for her new friend while Evan gave her a slow round of applause. " Good for you. By the way, what happened to that brat? " He asked referring to Amity.
" Last we saw she asked if today could count as extra credit. " Gus informed.
" Well I can't wait to see some more action, the next time we sneak in. " Luz said happily earning a look from Evan while Willow winced.
" What do you mean we? "
" Uh...about that... " Gus spoke up pulling out a scroll. " Your kinda, sorta...banned. " He showed her the poster.
" That's my girl! " Eda cheered.
" Oh yeah, your also banned to Evan..." Gus showed them a banned poster showing him smirking away.
The said warlock shrugged his shoulders with a blank face. " Eh, I don't care. "
" Atta boy! " Eda said proudly praised her son happy to see that he wasn't swayed by Hexside.
Willow put a hand on Luz. " But we could come here and teach you what we learned. "
" Aw. That would be nice. But... " Luz looked to Eda. " I have a pretty great teacher already. " Hearing this took her by surprise. She then looked to Evan. " Plus, I someone to help me out to. " Evan chuckled at that comment.
" Yeah, that's right! Luz is my student! " Eda snagged the banned poster out of Gus's hand. " And Evan is off limits. Back off you academy twerps! " She said making the younger ones laugh at her antics. She gazed at Luz's poster " Ah, baby's first wanted poster. It's just like when my little bundle of joy got his. " She walked up to both of them and patted Luz's head. " Good job kid. Looks like I taught you something after all. "Eda looked over to Evan. " And you did good too Evan. Thanks for sticking with her. "
" Hey, someone's gotta. " He said lightly giving Luz a wink making Luz chuckle while Eda gently ruffled his hair.
" Uh, you high five with your hands, " Gus spoke up. " Not your head. "
Evan glared at Gus and flicked him in the head. " Ow! What was that for!? "
" For ruining the moment. "

I fixed those small mistakes, sorry about the complications. I've been getting those a lot, and again, I addressed that issue. As for clues about Evan's dad there will be stuff thrown out there. And trust me there will be a chapter showing on how they met.

Eh, I seen it, and quite frankly don't care if she does. Plus who's the say I won't throw some other stuff along the way? The point is this is Fanfiction, we can write the hell we want, even though some of the shit is gross...:( Not to mention, something else very dramatic will happen when that chapter comes.

Nah, I like Amphibia but don't got the drive for doing a story about it. Yet at least, but inserting three oc characters at once? That's a bit much work.
Speaking of which, pretty soon, something else will come along the way. I'm not gonna tell you what it is, but you'll all find out. And I gurrantee that some of you will like it, considering what it is.
As for the species of dog Evan turned into, look it up, those things are very much indeed adorable.
