This right here, will be an Oc chapter and yes, I will be taking that advice so that way more of Evan's character will be shown and try to develop it a bit more. In what ways, well who knows to be exact?
But lately, while I've been trying to 'recharge' my batteries, I recently bought Nioh and I'll tell ya, I'm hooked onto it and so is my brother not to mention I'm enjoying the new expansion for Pokemon Sword and Shield, the brand new Crown Tundra! I'm really anxious to seeing what I can find and what pokemon I'd be interested in training.
Heck, my creative juices might be flowing enough to make me finally update my pokemon story.

Chapter 6
Dungeon Diving
In the early morning, a new day had started for the Boiling Isles and right now the inside of Evans room comes into view. The said one eyed warlock comes into view fast asleep holding a Snorlax plushie close to him. He occasionally rolled around in his sleep still holding the stuffed creature.
Now for some odd reason one of his windows was opened and pretty soon some sort of small bird resembling a rooster landed on it.
Before it could possibly, crow, the bird got zapped falling down with the window shutting itself. The cause of it was Evan who had his good eye open and gave an annoyed look. " Stupid birds... " He grumbled and looked at the clock. It was 6:50 A.M. With an annoyed groan Evan got up and got up stretching out his arms with a yawn smacking his lips.
He then tilted his head making a few popping noises. " Sometimes sleeping in when you want doesn't always go to plan does it Chewy? " He asked the snorlax plush as if it was alive. " Yeah, I didn't think so. " While getting up he heard something stirring.
" Huh? " He turned to see it was Luz who was sleeping on one of Evans large bean bags with a blanket draped over her. " Luz? Why is sh- " He paused before it came back to him. " Oooooh...yeah, that happened. "
He remembered last night, they watched a movie. He also remember how they had a big debate over which one they were going to watch. Ultimately they ended up watching The Ring, which was considerably a decent horror flick, but afterwards they decided to watch something else, and Luz picked out the movie called Time Bandits. It was okay, but for Evan it had such a weird and bizarre ending to it, by the time it was done, Luz was fast asleep and Evan didn't want to wake her up so he put a blanket on her before he himself went to bed.
But all in all, he was happy to have a movie night with her and he even thought about doing again some time later on. Heck, he even thought about inviting Gus and Willow if the chance was given. Luz would've very much enjoyed it, and knowing King, he'd want in on it. As for his mom, well, Eda occasionally watched some with him, but she always laughed at all the horror flicks they watched. For the reason why, it was hard to tell either she found the humans definition of horror unreal compared to the the stuff the Boiling Isles had to offer or she just simply had a dark sense of humor. The dark humor he'd agree with along with his dad.
For some reason he turned to the photo of him when he was younger with his parents and sadly smiled. The young warlock really wished his father was still there, he'd love to meet Luz, and on top of that, if he was there then he'd help him find a way to possibly heal moms curse.
Evan hasn't really shown it, but ever since he found out about his mother being cursed, a lot has been on his mind lately. And yesterday, with Lilith, he knew without a doubt that she knew of the state her own sister was in.
With a sigh he rubbed his forehead. He needed something to get his mind off of things, something fun to do. Something that Luz would enjoy as well considering it's been one thing after another since she arrived on the isles. Sure they got a break every now and then, but just at least one day of fun would make a huge difference.
He then noticed something sticking out of his drawer. Out of curiosity, Evan pulled what appeared to be some sort of old looking map. He then hummed gaining an idea and looked back to Luz who rolled in her sleep. The young warlock smiled gaining an idea.
After freshening up and making something to eat Evan was now in the kitchen sitting on the table eating some pancakes while over looking the map.
" Uh-huh...Uh-huh... " The young warlock was making sure he wasn't missing anything important that could've been overlooked. He then heard a yawn and turned to see Luz walking into the kitchen. " Morning Luz. "
" Morning Evan. " She replied back and looked around. " Where's Eda and King? "
Evan put a note on the table for her to read out loud: " Evan, me and King headed out early to try and find some more potential clients. Be back most likely by dawn, be sure to feed Hooty and keep an eye on Luz. L.M. "
" Evan you know what this means? "
" We got the Owl House to ourselves? " Evan replied. " Minus Hooty being here? No offense! "
" None taken! Hoot hoot! " The house guardian replied.
She looked at him excitedly. " It means you can teach me some more magic! "
" Actually Luz, I had a different idea today. " Luz gave off a sad whimper. " Oh relax, you'll like this one. Since we ain't got nothing much to do. How'd you like to go on a Dungeon Dive? "
Luz's interest was drawn with a raised eyebrow. " Dungeon Dive? "
" It's just another saying for exploration. It's just so much fun...It's also very exciting... "
" Really? "
" Yep. " Evan went on the details. " Distant lands, uncharted territory...You can visit many remarkable places and solve the mystery's you find there. "
" Wow, that does sounds like fun! " Luz was very much starting to like the sound of where this was going.
" And the best part is, you get to find lost treasure, including memories that can last a whole life time. "
Luz squealed in excitement like a child receiving the puppy they always wanted. " I wanna go! I wanna go! I wanna go! Can we go!? " She gripped Evans shoulders getting a bit to close to his face blushing a bit. " Please tell me we can go! "
" Personal space first. " He commented.
" Oh! " She quickly let go and sat down and chuckled nervously rubbing her arm. " Sorry. " She cleared her throat. " So do you know where this supposed 'dungeon' is? "
" Actually no. But, I got this map right here. " He passed the old looking map to Luz. " Open it up and have a look. " She did just that and rolled it onto the table. " This map seem indicate the location of some sort of treasure, study it closely, it really doesn't make sense does it? "
" Not very much, I can't really make out what's on here. " She replied trying to read it but was having a hard time doing so.
" It's the cipher that's making this tricky. I've been trying to figure this one out for a long time, but haven't been able to figure it out yet. "
" Have you showed Eda? " Luz asked in curiosity trying to read the map through different angles.
" I did. But it don't make much sense for mom either. "
" Hmm...Maybe we could try this... " Luz moved the map out in front of the window letting the sun light touch it. As Luz tried to leer through the paper provided by the sun light, she could almost see some sort of writing. But then 'Whoosh!' The map actually caught itself on fire. " Aaaah! Hot hot hot Hot hot hot hot hot hot hot hot " Taken by surprise she rapidly ran back and fourth and was bouncing it from hand to hand. " Hot-hot-hot-hot-hot-hot-hot-Hot! " She then let it drop to the floor and quickly enough Evan used a water spell to put it out.
The fire was put out and all that was left was a a burnt piece of paper giving off a bit of steam.
Evan's jaw dropped in disbeleif which also made him drop to his knees in shock keeping his gaze on his possession. " My...map...It's...charred... " He was having rough time processing what was happening and Luz felt very bad for what she did.
" I'm so sorry Evan! I didn't mean...Huh? " She noticed something. " Evan? Do you see something on there? "
" Wha- " He gasped in excitement touching the map before brushing off the charred parts of the map revealing to look entirely different then it was before. " Well I'll be damned...Now it makes sense...This map had two layers on it, the first layer was thick and since it couldn't be peeled off, it had to burned off instead! " He held it in the air. " Now I can read it! "
" Well what can you make out of it? "
" Let's see... " He put it back on the table and examined it closely tracing it with his finger very slowly. " Uh-huh...Uh-huh...Uh-huh...Looks like this treasure is located somewhere at the left side of the titans ribcage... "
" What are we waiting for!? Let's do this! " She then raced off if it wasn't for Evan.
" Stop right there! " He grabbed her by the hoodie making her whine and pout. " Before exploring a potential dungeon, you have to make sure you're well prepared. That's one rule we always gotta follow. Also, interested in some breakfast? "
Luz hummed in thought. " We can do that. " She then raised an eyebrow now noticing Evan was white a sheep as if he'd seen a ghost. " Uh...Evan you okay? "
" Did something land on me? "
" I-I don't know... " She replied nervously of what she was going to see.
" Could you check? " Luz did just that and checked every inch of his clothing before finding something on his back.
" Oh, it's just a little spider. "
" Aaaaaaaaaahhhh! " His scream was heard echoing out of the house scaring away the nearby birds.

Minutes later Evan calmed down, and by his term of calming down it was eating three tall stacks of pancakes including the ones that Luz didn't eat. Heck, he didn't even talk one bit and Luz was still trying to wrap her head around what happened.
So she then broke the silence asking the question.
" So...You're afraid of spiders? "
With a quick motion he gripped her cheeks looking straight into her eyes. " I hate spiders Luz...I hate them and they hate me... " He said in a voice lacking emotion. He let go and plopped down on his chair and then very slowly Luz burst out laughing holding the table so she wouldn't fall. Evan meanwhile blushed in embarrassment. " That's not funny! "
She slowly calmed down waving her hands out. " Sorry-Sorry. It's just, I never expected you of all people, to be afraid of spiders. "
Evan huffed looking away a bit in annoyance. " I'm not afraid...I just hate them. "
" That's also a sign of being afraid. " She teased.
" Oh, yeah, so what if I am? What are you afraid of? " He retorted.
" Cat's with a mans face. " She replied quickly.
Evan shrugged his shoulders. " Okay, I admit that is a bit creepy, but also really weird..."
" But why do you hate them? "
He gave her a blank look in return. " Luz let's get real here for a minute. Wouldn't you be afraid of them after finding out one of them laid eggs in your ear when you were only five? "
Luz shuddered at the thought. " Okay, now that makes since. "
" Now with that fiasco done. Let's move on. "
After gathering only a small amount of supplies such as food, water, medical treatment and a few other 'extra items'. The two of them had about a three hour walk to arrive to their destination, the left side of the Titans ribcage. Now for the record, they would've gotten their faster with Owlbert, but since they didn't have the luxory of using Eda's staff the two of them toughed it out and made the long walk.
It actually wasn't to bad either, it was a very nice day, with no signs of any of the island's bizarre weather either. Occasionally they took breaks too to catch their breath. One thing was for sure, after the long trek, they finally arrived. The two of them sat up against one of the large bones sticking out of the ground, having a little snack.
Luz sighed in content. " Nice day. " She said while eating a PB&J.
Evan hummed in agreement. " I second that. " He said with a mouth full eating his own sandwich.
" What are you eating by the way? "
" Just a little something I whipped up myself. "
" What's on it? "
" Tri-tip, cabbage leaf, an egg and it's topped off with a special sauce. " He listed off.
" Oooh, can I try some? "
He raised an eyebrow and chuckled. " You sure you want you? The sauce is spicy as shit. And I'm not even joking about that part. "
" Eh, I'll take my chances. "
" Oookay... " He replied in a worried tone before cutting off a small piece and presented it to her. " Bon appétit. But don't say I didn't warn ya. " She grabbed it and then proceeded to eat it.
Evan could only hold back a chuckle as she ate it and watched her strained expression showing she was straining against the spice. After a few minutes of chewing she gulped it down and instantly accepted a canteen of water from Evan gulping half of it down. With her throat cooled down she let out a loud sigh of relief and look to Evan in disbelief.
" How can you eat that!? "
Evan laughed at what she said smacking his right knee before calming down wiping a tear. " Hey, I gave you a warning and you didn't listen~ Now to anwser your question, I've always eaten spicy stuff, but only if it can give some food I eat a decent enough kick. "
" Ah, so you're one of those people who burn off their taste buds. " Luz commented making him chuckle. " What's the spiciest thing you've ever eaten? "
" Uh... The spiciest thing I ever ate was a sandwich that was sort of like this, but a bit bigger. While it was very delicious, I ended up breathing fire and then paid for it...Which felt like fire was coming from the 'exit'. Even I got my limitations... " He chuckled at the last part as he finished off the rest of his snack and stood up strapping back on his pack and brought out the map.
" So are we almost to where we need to be? " Luz asked looking over the warlock's shoulder as he walked forward.
" It should be here someplace...Let's see..." He begins remembering where they've been and which direction they went. " We came from there, and in that direction...Okay, according to the map, the entrance to the dungeon, should...right around... " He paused looking forward into an empty opening full of rocks. "...here. I don't understand..."
" Maybe we read it wrong? " Luz questioned.
" No. " Evan began to think for a moment. " ...I got an idea... " Looking around the place he spotted a large rock and then climbed up on it.
Luz raised an eyebrow. " What are you doing? "
" Hang on... " Evan instructed as he closed his good eye before lifting up his eye patch. His blind right eye was revealed to being also closed. Luz watched as he made a small spell circle in front of it that faded away as it appeared. Then he opened both eyes and his usual blind dull grey eye was glowing black. While Luz was a bit surprised and creeped out by this, Evan was more focused on his task.
Whatever he used, the vison of his good eye was more heightened and from the corner to somewhere his right direction he saw a glowing gold spot. After closing both eyes his blind eye stopped glowing and he put his eyepatch back on. He pointed in the direction where he saw the glowing spot. " That way... " He hopped off the rock and lead the way.
As Luz followed him she grew very curious but at the same time confused. " I thought you were blind in that eye? "
" I am. But I learned to make use of it in different ways. "
" What was that you just did? "
" Just some advanced sight magic. " He replied as they got closer to the spot. " It helps me see things that the normal naked eye can't. " He then stomped his foot on where he saw the glow from earlier.
" So when you mean advanced magic you literally mean advanced magic right? "
" Yeah. Technically, it takes years to learn some of the stuff I know. But, since I free to learn and study any magic I could find, it don't really bother me as much. " He kneels down and traces an x mark in the ground. " Right here. Were gonna have to dig. You got the shovels? "
Luz handed one over to Evan and the two of them started getting to work. After a good hour of doing so, Luz's shovel made a loud dent. " Evan I think I hit something. " Evan put down his shovel and felt the ground, it was hard and solid. " Did we just hit a rock? "
" Yeah... " He stood up and backed away before making a spell circle causing a large amount of wind to blow off the dirt that was covering the stone. Once it was clear, it revealed to be a large stone cover. " Aha! Here we go... " He made another spell circle only this time it was much larger and right in the center of it. The cover was soon enveloped in energy and Evan strained putting both hands forward, motioning it to the right. Even though it didn't look like it, but the thing itself weighed a ton or two, it was heavy and right as he was about to tap out the young warlock successfully got the cover off.
" Phew... " He wiped off his brow and Luz patted him on the back and said.
" Nice job. " Both of them kneeled down to see what was inside and Luz jumped in surprise seeing a weird looking statue staring right at her.
Evan gave her a flat unimpressed look. " Luz, relax, it's just a statue. "
She lightly blushed and smiled in embarrassment rubbing the back of her head. " Heheh. Sorry. " She looked back down inside. " Wow...How old you think this is? "
Evan shrugged his shoulders. " Who knows? " He then noticed Luz was trying to leer down trying to get a better view. " What is it? "
" Evan...is it either me or is the floor moving? " Luz asked in a confused tone.
The young warlock narrowed his eyes in concern. " Luz you got something to draw on? "
" Yeah, I got a big piece of paper. Why? "
" Bring it out and draw your light glyph. There's something down there. " Luz did as she was instructed brining out the paper and drew her glyph. Evan placed it over the opening and let her tap the center immediately making it crumble up and descend down into the darkness. As it did, they got a big surprise, crawling all over the floor were spiders, big massive ones, like the ones you'd read in the lord of the rings and harry potter books.
Evan immediately sat down sideways looking white as a sheep with wide eyes just like at the Owl House. " Spiders...Why did it had to be spiders? " He asked as if the universe was pulling one over him.
Luz grew concerned for her friend. " Are you okay Evan? "
" Yeah...Yeah... " He was still in a daze of what he saw. " Just...Give me a minute... "
She then gained a nervous smile chuckling nervously. " Also, would you go first? " Evan in return gave her a look that translated 'Have you lost your mind?'
Back at the Owl House Eda and King had just returned from their early morning job. They successfully gained ten more clients, while it wasn't a big number by the owl lady's standards, it was better then ending up with zero.
Eda put her staff to the side. " Evan, Luz were back! " She expected for someone to reply back happy to know she had returned, but didn't. " Luz!? Evy!? " She still didn't get a reply back. " Huh, that's weird. Hooty! "
The door flung open inside. " Hoot! You rang? " The house guardian asked.
" Where's my son and apprentice? " The witch got straight to the point.
" Oh, they went Dungeon Diving. They've been gone for five hours now. Hoot hoot. " He proceeded to close himself.
" Dungeon Diving? " Eda chuckled a bit. " Wow, that sure does takes me back. "
" Aren't you worried about them? " King asked getting on the couch. " I know he and Phil did it often, but he's got Luz with him. "
" Relax. They'll be fine. " She plopped down to sit. " Besides, his dad and I did every once in a while to. Plus, this is Evan were talking about out. He'll make sure Luz will be okay. "
" If you say so. " King bluntly replied not entirely sounding a least convinced. " Sometimes I think while he's got more of Phils brains he's got more of your wild personality at times. " Eda glared at the little canine who put his paws forward to defend himself. " Take it easy. I'm just being honest. "
Her expression softened a bit. " Your not wrong. But I think he's got a good balance of both of us, you know? "
" Yeah... " King nodded his head knowing what she was talking about.

We now see the dup hovering down into the room which had burnt marks all over. It was thanks to Evan making the place 'safe' for them to land inside.
" Okay, cool, coast is clear. " He looked around the area and much to his luck their was a torch in the wall. With a motion of his hand, it floated right into it. " Let's get some light. " Using a small spell circle the torch became lit with fire. " Ready? " Luz gave him a nod. " Let's go... " They proceeded into the dark unexplored depths of the dungeon, so far there hasn't been nothing of interest for the moment, but they kept their eyes open.
Within minutes they entered another room, with a series of stepping stones all over the ground in front of them. Evan suddenly stopped Luz from walking forward. " What is it? "
" Hang on a second... " He grabbed a large stick that was nearby and knelt down and tapped one of the stepping stones with the stick. Upon doing so, a large dart shot right into it.
" Whoa... " Luz was now growing a bit nervous. " So how are we gonna do this? "
" Simple walk through, and don't touch any of the stones. " Evan replied as he made the first few steps forward watching his feet. " Remember Luz, watch your step... "
" Okay... " Nervously Luz proceeded to followed Evan's movement, carefully making sure she didn't miss her mark. " Whoa...Whoooa! " In the process she almost slipped if it wasn't for him catching her just in the nick of time.
Evan raised an eyebrow cocking his head to the side. " Do you want me to carry or something? "
" Uh...No-no. I got this. " She quickly replied back and continued to follow him until they got to the other side. " See? No problem. "
" Yeah, say that now...That was just the start... " Evan commented as he continued leading the way forward with Luz following from behind. " But, at least that one's out of the way... " The young warlock commented as they continued on forward until they got into another room. While it did seem promising, their was just one problem.
" Evan, I don't see anywhere else to go, do you? " Luz asked looking around for another path for them to go through.
" Nope...Hang on... " Slowly he walked up to the walls and put a hand against them. He then slowly traced his hand against the stone, before stopping, he looked to a certain area, and put his hand firmly on it. He felt a draft of air through the cracks. " Aha. Hold this. " He passed Luz the torch for her to hold. Meanwhile she watched as he reeled back his right fist and punched into the wall leaving a large hole in it's wake but made a large cloud of dust and dirt in the process. After a brief hack fest as the cloud cleared, the two of them stared into the newly made hole.
" How did you that? "
" Heh, most simple and oldest trick in the book. " The teen replied as Luz passed him back the torch. As they were entering through the hole, something wet and sticky latched itself onto Luz causing her to scream. " Evan! "
He quickly turned around and gasped quickly grabbing hold of her hands dropping the torch in the process. The assailant much to the warlocks displeasure was a large red and black spider trying to reel in the human girl through it's webbing. With a loud grunt, Evan pulled Luz down hard causing the spider to fall onto the ground.
Evan instantly tore off the webbing off of her and pushed her aside to avoid an incoming web projectile. The spider emitted a high pitched roar and in return Evan conjured up a sword made out of fire and charged giving off his own war cry. The spider spat out another web only for it to be sliced but Evan was grabbed by the spider's leg and slammed into a wall of stone repeatedly. While it did hurt like hell, his adrenaline rush kept his mind occupied and made a fire dagger stabbing it into the spiders leg making it shriek in pain.
As he was falling, the spider grabbed him again and started the same process of pain again slamming him all over the place. Meanwhile Luz was starting to panic, her best friend was getting clobbered by the one thing he hated most and all she could do was standby and watch, but she knew she couldn't.
" What do I do? What do I do? What would Azura do!? " She frantically asked herself and spotted something sticking out of the ground. Quickly rushing over to it she discovered it was an old iron spear. This was exactly what she needed! Luz then began to try and pull it out of the ground, but this thing was lodged deep in the dirt, making it more difficult then it looked. However she turned looking back to see Evan was still getting tossed around like a ragdoll and with a growl of determination she finally pulled it out.
Meanwhile the spider let Evan drop before trapping him in place with it's webbing. All the young warlock could do was try and pull himself out, but he couldn't, he wasn't able to use his magic, he was trapped. The spider then slowly walked up to him moving in for the kill. However it didn't get the chance because Luz rushed forward impaling the spiders head with the spear.
The impact causing it's blood to fly around every shrieking out in pain before the large arachnid fell down and died. After the commotion died down, Luz jumped into the air. " Whoo-hoo! I can't believe I just did that! "
" Nice one! " Evan rushed over and gave her a high five and then for some reason acting like a bunch of kids they grabbed their hands and started jumping around in a circle chanting. " We rule! We rule! We rule! We rule! We rule! "
But then Luz gasped in shock and terror causing Evan to fall down onto the ground.
" Ow! What the heck- "
Luz cutted him off by screaming and pointed behind him." Evan! " He quickly turned around and much to their displeasure was a whole entire swarm of spiders all darting right towards them. The moment Evan saw this he became even more pale then he could've possibly been before.
" AAAAaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! " All that courage he had earlier was gone and without any hesitation he grabbed Luz by the arm pulling him with her and as he gained more speed Luz was smart enough to wrap her arms and legs around him.
They continued to run, and run for their lives until lady faith set up a challenge for them. The two of them had hit a dead end and the spiders were closing in on them. Thinking quickly Evan made a large magic circle on the ground and stomped his foot through it. The circle created a large wall made out of stone, that began to shake and small cracks were slowly beginning to form.
" This wall won't hold them! " Evan regretfully informed.
" What do we do!? " Luz was frantically looking around for a possible escape route. " There's no way out! "
Evan joined in the search and then spotted a shaft that went over to the right. It was more then big enough for them to both to fit through " Over there! "
" What!? But we don't know- " Her sentence was cut off by the sound of multiple spider legs breaking through the wall.
" There's no time! " He makes a run for a possible escape and yelled out on the top of his lungs before jumping inside. " I love you momma! AAAAAaaaaaHHhhhh!" His screamed was heard and as he got down it was barely heard.
As for Luz she screamed seeing the spiders were right there and so without much choice. " ¡Yo también amo a mi mamá! " She screamed out and joined him jumping down into the shaft despite not knowing what awaited both once they were through.
Currently Eda was cooking, she figured her son and apprentice would defiantly be all tired out after a long day thanks to her maternal instinct. She happily hummed while doing so and King walked in and stopped at what he was seeing.
" Wait, your cooking? " The canine asked in disbelief getting a look from Eda.
" What? Who do you think taught Evan how to? "
" Uh-huh, and we both know Phil taught you. " He said sarcastically making Eda roll her eyes while he climbed up the table.
" Hey Eda, can I ask you something? "
" Go ahead. "
" Do you ever think Phil might not come back? "
The owl lady sighed hearing that question and continued what she was doing. " I'd rather not dwell about it... "
" But... "
Eda cut him off. " I know-I know...I sometimes think that way too... " She said in a sad tone. " It hurts thinking about that almost everyday King...It really does...And I know for a fact Evan feels the same way...He's already got enough on his mind as it is... "
" Sorry...It's just that I miss him...
" No, it's alright, I feel the same... "
" We all miss him...Hoot hoot.. " Hooty chimed in sadly sounding on the verge of crying.
A moment of silence passed until King spoke up. " So...Can I do anything to help? "
Eda smiled seeing how the little canine wanted to make up for making a sappy moment. " Grab some of those spices. "
Luz groaned as she opened her eyes, everything happened so fast, but slowly enough she remembered what happened. Shooting her head up she looked around her new surroundings. She was now inside a massive large cave opening, the kind that made your voice echo just by talking. " Whoa... " She gasped in realization and looked around worryingly. " Evan? Evan where are you!? "
" Look down... " A familiar voice replied in a very flat tone and Luz did just that to see Evan was on the ground with an annoyed look on his face. " How do we keep ending up like this? "
Luz chuckled nervously as she got up and proceeded to help up her roommate. " You okay? "
" Yeah...Oooh... " He just cracked his back making his bones pop. " Just peachy. How about you? You're not hurt are ya? "
" No I'm fine. " She returned her attention up to the cave ceiling. " But where are we now? "
" Hey look! " He pointed over to the distance and there were large chunks of bone embedded into the stone. " That's part of the titans ribcage. We're really far down now. "
" How far exactly? "
" Probably right below where we first entered here. " He then noticed something over to the wall. " Check this out... " They both walked over to what he was seeing. On the wall was an a very old yet well detailed cave drawing showing two different creatures on different opposing sides. One was a human like with a set of horns facing down a large intimidating monster with what appeared to be smaller drawings of witches and warlocks all raising their arms into the air for some reason.
" Wow...Now this is cool. What are they? "
" I know this sounds crazy, but I think the horned creature is the Titan... " He points at the humanoid.
" The Titan? You mean the same one that makes up the island itself? "
" Yeah...But I don't know what that thing is... " He points at the other creature and then walks forward to see some old writing engraved into the wall itself. " But I think this can tell us what it is... "
" Can you read it? "
Evan hummed tracing his finger along the words and stepped back making a spell circle, waving two fingers forward that caused the words to glow making it much more easier to see and understand. He then began to read it out loud: " In the beginning the very world was engulfed in a battle between two powerful entity's. the Titan, a being of raw power capable of destroying entire worlds and known for it's tyranny. Then there was the Behemoth, a giant monster of darkness with a heart of light bright at the sun itself, who'd roar across the sky like an untamed meteor. For as long as it was known, they've always had a deep hatred for one another, they're battles were legendary rocking the very heavens above and the underworld below. For centuries their never ending battle came to an end with the Behemoth feasting on the Titans corpse. However, it's victory was cut short, the ancient ones sought to tame the mighty beast who was beyond weakened from its long battle against it's sworn enemy. Rather then become a slave, the mighty beast emitted an earth shattering roar destroying itself. It's flesh of darkness sinked into the earth, embedding it with great magical power. It's bright heart flew up into the sky and became the sun. Their was so much blood, that it flooded the world, drowning the ancients forming the oceans. It's death cry was so loud that it's still heard to this day. "
Evan just finished reading and Luz gave a short round of applause. " That was a pretty good story... " She commented.
" I'll say. But we should probably continue moving. " Evan said before using the same magic he used on the surface causing his blind eye to glow black. Through his vison he found a way out straight ahead to the right. He put his eyepatch back on. " This way. "
" We've come pretty far...I wonder if were getting any closer... " Luz wondered.
" Probably, we'll just have to find out ourselves. " Evan assumed as they entered a room and unknown to Luz she stepped on something sticking out of the floor making a noise. They both quickly turned around and much to their dismay, the entry where they came from was blocked off including their possible exit.
" W-What just happened!? " Luz asked sounding a bit worried backing up to Evan.
" Crap! We just triggered a trap! " The warlock cursed and then all the sudden large amounts of fire suddenly shot out from the floor and he was quick enough to grab Luz and got into the middle of the room on a circle. Once that happened, the floor around them began to move, and large rotating saws emerged and from the ceiling came swinging pendulum blades.
" Seriously!? " Luz cried out in disbelief.
Evan groaned out loud slapping his forehead. " Stupid! Stupid! "
" Evan, it's okay... "
" No it's not okay! " He suddenly snapped. " I shouldn't have brought up this whole idea from the start! " He replied back. " And now because of me, were both gonna die... "
" Can't you just use your magic on this? "
" No I can't, the blades have runes graved on them, magic ain't gonna do shit to these things. " He got on his knees and sighed rubbing his temples. " I'm such an idiot... "
Luz kneeled down as well putting a hand on his shoulder. " Well, if that's the case, then I just wanted to let you know I had fun. I really did. But, why did you want to do this? "
The young warlock sighed in defeat looking at her for a brief moment. " Well, you remember Adagest right? "
" Yeaaah? " She didn't exactly enjoy the thought of the said octopus that nearly killed them on her second day of the island.
" Well, after seeing the map today, made me think, just maybe, I could do something nice for ya. I mean, you a had fake adventure, which was all but a trap to lure out mom. There was nothing about it that made memories you'd remember throughout your life. The whole purpose of this was to have some fun, make some memories and show you that even the islands themselves can have wonder, not just doom and gloom all the time..."
Luz smiled at his words very much touched that this whole mystery was meant for her. Especially since she always more different and left out from everyone else, even at times her own family. But she also had a feeling about something else.
" Evan, I'm really glad that you did all this for me, but, there's more to this isn't there? "
" ... " Evan's only response was silence.
" But you don't have to anwser if you don't-
" No. No. You're right, there...was another reason for this... "
" What was it? "
He diverted his attention away for a moment before looking back at her. " I guess it also reminded of the times I used to go with my dad. "
" You both must've had a lot fun doing these 'adventure's' huh? "
He nodded his head back in response. " He's been doing it for years, back in the day, mom told me he'd take her with him every once in a while. But, when I was little, he always knew when I was bummed out...When I was, he'd open the door and yell out, 'C'mon kid, let's go find some trouble!'. For us, it was our way of bonding...Even though sometimes it was dangerous...Which was most of the time..."
Luz chuckled at what he said. " That sounds nice... "
" Yeah...
" You really miss him huh? "
Evan sighed sadly nodding his head again.
She smiled kindly and spread her arms out. " Want a hug? "
" Yes, please. " He replied and accepted the offer before breaking apart.
" Okay, so can we possibly find a way out of here? "
" Let me see... " Evan lifted up his eyepatch and began to use his sight magic once again from his view, there three glowing dots and Evan knew it had to mean something. Quickly enough he made three spell circles each one aimed in the directions of his targets.
" What are you- "
" Quiet... " Evan instructed and closed his eyes. " I gotta focus. " The young warlock then took a deep breath slowly putting both his hands up in a prayer motion and after ten seconds he whipped both of them side ways making the spell circles fire off energy blasts at the different angles needed narrowly avoiding the blades as they all hit their marks.
Once that happened, all the blades stopped moving and the room itself grew quiet. Evan sighed in relief dropping to his knees slowly trying to recapture his breath.
Luz patted him on the back. " Nice job Evan. You okay? "
" Yeah, I'm okay... " He pushed himself back up as the blades retracted back into their hiding spots and both doors opened up. " Let's move... "
The two of them continued to move on forward through the dungeon for what almost seemed like an eternity, but soon enough their efforts had paid off. They'd finally made it to the end.
The duo was now seen inside a large cave opening and all around were crystals of different color all gleaming with light.
" Wow...There's so many of them... " Evan was clearly loving the sights before them.
" And look at them all sparking, now this is nice...Huh? Whoa! Look at the size of that one! " Luz pointed out and quickly enough the two of them dashed over to it. The crystal before them, was the largest one that either of them had ever seen in their lives, and it was a clear dark red color.
Evan whistled impressed by the size. " That is pretty big. I bet we could easily make a lot of money off this thing... "
" Are you crazy? It'd be cooler if we could keep this thing! " Luz argued making another valid point. " So, can we pull this thing out? "
" Let me try... " Evan grunted as he tried to move it, after a few times he backed up standing next to his friend despite his strength. " Nope, this thing ain't budging. "
Luz suggested an idea. " Want to try it together? " Evan shrugged his shoulders figuring why not since it was clearly worth a shot. And so with both hands on deck, they attempted to pull it out.
" *grunting* Sheesh! It's really tight in there! " Luz exclaimed. " My nerd arms aren't helping at all! "
Evan grunted refusing to give up. " Keep pulling it, I think we're almost there! " He cried out.
" I'm pulling as hard as I can! " Luz grunted as they continued to try and pull on it. " Hey, wait a minute, Evan, stop. "
" What? "
" Why don't we try pushing it instead? " Evan thought about it and then nodded his head.
" Okay, on three. One...Two...Three! " The two of them put their full strength forward making the crystal move little by little and much to their delight they had succeeded. " Well I'll be damned... " Evan smiled while Luz squealed in excitement hugging the warlock who blushed slightly.
" We did it! We did it! Evan we actually did it! " All the sudden they heard what sounded to be a clicking noise instantly putting them on guard and then another sound was heard.
" Whoa! Incoming! " Evan cried out and grabbed Luz's hand as they tried to out run a large current of water darting right towards them.
From the outside a single bird like creatures was minding it's own business soundly taking a nap in peace. But it soon shot awake and flew away do to the ground shaking very intensely. Then right there, a nearby large rock shot away allowing an enormous geyser of water to break free shooting into the air. On the very top was Evan and Luz cheering away having a good time not realizing how high in the air they'd gotten until the water stopped.
They then screamed as loud as their lungs could allow them to. However Evan quickly slapped himself out of it and quickly made a spell circle right below them and grabbed Luz with his free arm while he used the other to put his hand forward. Seconds later a large amount of raging fire blasted out of the spell circle and as they descended down further and further back to the ground, everything became slow until they finally made a safe landing.
" Phew. " Evan wipped the sweat off his brow. " That's a relief. Hmm? " He noticed Luz still had her eyes shut while tightly holding onto him. " Uh...Luz, were back on the ground. "
" You sure? "
" Positive? "
" Yeah. " Slowly Luz opened one eye and then the other and sighed in relief.
Now this was starting to get more awkward and Luz was still up against him. His face was getting more red from his blush. " Uh...Could you-Whoa! " He suddenly rolled to the side taking the human girl with him narrowly avoiding something that crashed to the ground that surely would've killed them on impact.
" What the heck was that!? " Luz asked while Evan tapped her shoulder and pointed forward. What she saw made her smile. It was the giant crystal they pulled out of the ground now laying on the ground before them.
Eda sighed in satisfaction, after getting out of the shower and into her sleep clothes slumping on the couch. " The best part of the day is when it ends and you get to relax. "
" Can we eat soon? " King asked crawling onto the couch. " I'm starving here! "
" Not till Evan and Luz- " Eda's sentence was cut off as she and the canine looked to the door. Entering the Owl House was her son and said apprentice who both looked like a mess, their clothes were dirty and had some rips and tears. Luz entered in first while Evan dragged in the crystal they got which was carried on a wooden sled with a piece of rope as they both sat down on the floor to catch their breath. " Come home... " She finished her sentence. " What happened to you two? "
They exchanged a look with one another. " We went Dungeon Diving. " Evan anwsered.
" Oh yeah and how'd that go? " Eda asked
" We actually had a lot of fun today. " Luz chimed in. " Despite almost getting eaten by spiders... "
" And a lot of other things " Evan added and patted the treasure they obtained. " But, in the end we got this nice pretty gem. "
Eda snort laughed a bit. " Nice don't even describe what you brought home. " She sighed in content. " Yeah, that does take me back with the fun times I had with your dad, some were fun and other times...well, eh. As humans would say it 'Shit happens'. "
" Can we eat now!? " King asked eagerly.
" Yeah, yeah, your highness we can. " The owl lady replied standing up. " I hope your both hungry. "
" What'd you make? " Evan asked.
" Your favorite, Hot Pot. " Eda replied walking into the kitchen making Evan perk up hearing those two words.
" Yep, were eating good tonight. " Evan said now getting up.
" Thanks a lot Evan. " Luz said. " I really mean it. "
He turned to her. " Hey, no problem. "
" So...could we possibly do that again? "
" Yeah, defiantly. Just as long as theirs... "
" No spiders right? " She already knew what he was going to making him chuckle rubbing the back of his head. " Also, one last thing. " She grabbed his cheek and pecked it making his good eye go wide as a plate.
" What was that? " He asked still completely surprised by what happened.
" That was a thank you for saving my life multiple times today. Come to think of it, I saved you to. But, eh, I ain't keeping count. " She said now walking off into the kicthen leaving Evan by himself.
He touched where her lips touched his cheek, making a happy face showing off his fangs giggling away and if his dad had seen him like he'd probably be laughing, especially Eda.

So how'd you all like this one? Good? Bad? Could be better? Eh, I don't care, I think I did a pretty good job myself.
And a little something else about Evan's been revealed, he has a major degree of 'Arachnophobia' just to show even someone like Evan has a major fear of something showing he's not completely invincible.
Not to mention, you got a look of more of Evan's more 'advanced magic', enough to make you wonder what else does he know?
