Yeah, yeah I was going to update my Kipo story, but let's just say it's been very challenging these many past weeks, first caught a cold that almost destroyed my own voice getting better, found it was Covid, everyone else in my household got it, but the to severe kind and now more further complications arose.
All I can say is, family always comes first. And that's my only response to where I have been doing, dealing with a lot of emotional stuff.
So yeah, It's just been one thing after another. But anyway, enough from me, let's continue on Mysterious Magic shall we?
Chapter 18
The First Day
A few days had passed, since that little adventure Evan had with Wilhelm. They were successful enough to retrieve on what they came for and at the same time made friends with the Ghost King from Dante's Cooler. It was the cliche enemies at first and the newest allies afterwards. Evan was glad that he got the plant and had Saul create those 'special elixirs' to help with his mother's curse.
At the same time to at the other hand, while he didn't reveal why he went with Wilhelm in the first place, he did speak to his mother about his nightmare. That was not so easy to explain, instead she saw what transpired, enough to scare her own child. Even though she kept a brave face, deep down Eda was now more than ever worried for Evan, and so was Luz. Her human apprentice still doesn't know what she saw, or what Evan had to witness, and figured for the time being it was best to keep quiet about it.
While things were slightly getting back to the way things used to be, Luz was naturally she confused. What was bothering her friend? Why did he deliberately ignore before he left to go to Wilhelm? All those questions didn't get answered but within those past few days Evan was starting to act like his usual self. While one side of her wanted to know what was wrong, the other part of her decided not to push for more questions. Believing he would tell her when he was ready. But right now, after many days, no weeks of waiting a major big event had now come for the two teens.
Luz was excited and nervous, while Evan on the other hand, wasn't too thrilled or looking forward to it at all.
We now see the inside of a dark backstage. Luz activates a light glyph and holds it between her and Eda.
" I-I'm not ready for this Eda. Maybe we should go back. "
" Nah kid, you got this, just do what we practiced! "
" But what if... What if I mess something up? Or what if I do something wrong? *gasps* What if I die? " Hearing this from her Evan finally came into view and tapped her head a couple of times making sure it wasn't empty and there was a brain in there.
" Don't be so overdramatic, you aren't gonna die. "
" Evan's right Luz, Calm down, calm down. I had to do the same thing when I was a witchling. It's like a rite of passage. Granted, I was a little more skilled. "
" That's not helping... " Her son said in a matter-of-fact tone making the witch chuckle a bit. " Right, right. Sorry, sorry. Now, get pumped. "
" Pumped! "
" Get ready. "
Luz pulls her hood up " Ready! "
" Now, go! " Eda shoved her out.
Cut to the stage, a spotlight aimed at the closed curtains and a banner reading "Hexside School: Entrance Exams." The curtains open. Luz jumps on stage in a dark cloak imitating a movie trailer narrator voice. " From the humblest of beginnings, a hero will rise. " She switches to normal voice." I have traveled from another realm and trained with a powerful witch to master dark and forbidden magic. I am... Luz Noceda! "
She takes off her cloak revealing herself to the audience which is empty except for Principal Bump sitting in the front row with a clipboard. Seeing this she chuckles awkwardly, tosses confetti out of a fanny pack. " Confetti! "
" Right. The human that wants to be a witch. Against my better judgement, I've allowed you to take this exam into Hexside. But can you even do magic with all your... human parts? "
" I sure can. " She zips open fanny pack. " It's said that humans can't do magic... " Reaching inside she pulls out papers and shows them to both sides of the auditorium. " But I discovered a lost technique that changes everything. "
Hearing this declaration defiantly caught Principal Bump interest. " Hmm? " Eda gives two thumbs-up from backstage while Evan just motions her to do the thing. So, she activates the light glyph and lets the ball rise. Luz moves the ice glyph under the light and activates it followed by planted her foot down to activate her newest electric glyph causing a spark to be made. Luz beams and does jazz hands.
" Spells casting with paper? I've never heard of such a thing. " He said very much surprised by this method but began to question this himself. " But is it enough to pass the exam? "
Now she was starting to get nervous and looked over to the curtain. " Uhh... "
" Improvise! " Both mother and son called out.
" Um, I can do other things, what about... this? " She stands, before doing the gross trick of flips her eyelids inside out. " Bleep, bloop, bleep! " Bump wasn't not impressed and things started to get worse.
" Ow ow! Eyelash! Eyelash! " Luz slips on the melted ice pillar and falls into her abandoned cloak and the spark from the electric glyph accidentally made it catch on fire. She stands and tries to put it out but fell off the stage and onto Principal Bump. She rolls off him.
" Sorry, sorry, sorry! " Places hand on an ice glyph. " Whoops! AH! "
The ice pillar lifts her up by one foot until she's eye level with Principal Bump giving him a nervous smile. " I failed, didn't I? "
" Believe it or not, I've seen worse. " He replied as Luz falls on her face.
" You may take your seat. " She gets up to do so. " Okay, next. " Exiting out onto the stage next was Evan who had a very displeased look with his hands in his pockets. But no less Bump was very pleased to see the one who has been catching his interest for a while now.
" Ah, Evan Clawthrone. I'm most curious to see what you can do. "
" Just to be frank, I don't care. " Evan said in a flat tone making Bump chuckle a bit. " Same anwser your father gave me when he was being evaluated. Now let's what you can do. "
Evan lazily made a spell circle with his right hand making a lightning bolt shoot out. " Hmm, okay. But I know you can do better than that. " Evan brought out his other hand and made two spell circles that made a small bird out of fire appear flying around him a couple of times before disappearing. Bump hummed with a bit of interest, but at the same time wasn't impressed.
" Oh for titans sake, are you even trying!? "
Evan only growled and frowned at what he said and wasted no time making three circles two on the side and a large one over his head. Which soon began to leak pure dark energy that formed into spikes that were all within mere inches away from Bump.
" There! Happy now!? "
" Most defiantly... " He said marveled by the sheer amount of power he was giving off, especially for someone his age. " Dark Magic is extremely rare to come across...You very well might be the only one I've ever seen use it. In fact, your magic is absolutely astounding. I have a feeling there is much more room for your development. " Evan only scoffed as he put his hands back into his pockets dispersing his magic. " Evan, Luz I gladly Welcome you both to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics! "
He passed Luz two school pamphlets much to Luz's joy as she stood up in victory. " Hurray! "
" Yay... " Evan said sarcastically very much not to thrilled with the results.
The next day we see Luz eating breakfast wearing her hexside uniform only it was mostly grey and devoid of color.
" Uh Eda, what exactly is up with my uniform? "
" Oh, that's because you haven't placed in one of those tracks. You notice how your friends have different colors right? "
" Well yeah, Willow has green, Amity has Pink, while Gus has light blue. "
" That's right. You'll be getting some color once you get started. " Eda said before turning to the hall to calm up to her son. " Evan! Are you up!? "
" Yeah! But I really don't want to be right now! " Her son replied back in a strained tone as a lot of grunting is heard much to Eda and Luz's confusion. " I hate this thing! " Minutes later he comes down and enters the kitchen.
" Grrrrrr! " He was scratching himself furiously any way he could, even using the walls for leverage.
" Evan what's the matter? "Luz asked as she continued to watch her friend scratch and grit his teeth. " It's already bad enough I have to abide to wear some cheap school clothing and what makes it worse that this thing itchy as hell! " He yelled at the last part as he continued to scratch himself. Humming a bit Eda walked over to her boy and held him still.
" Hold on Evi, let me see... " Making a spell circle it went down phasing down through Evan and as a result multiple small flacks came out and Evan sighed in relief feeling the itching sensation go away. " Yep thought so. "
" What'd you just do? " Luz wondered.
" Cleaned his uniform of Itch Mites. I had the same problem with my uniform a few times when I started myself. " Her mentor answered before glancing up at the clock. " Oh shoot, better get going. "
" Do I really have to go? " Evan asked in annoyance as he exited out of the door with Luz coming up from right behind him happily putting a hand on his shoulder.
" Aw come on it'll be great. " She said trying to encourage her roommate. " Don't you see it Evan, now we'll be able to hang out with our friends all while learning about magic all day long. Isn't that exciting!? "
" Yeah...exciting... " Evan said letting the words sink into him slowly. " Learning magic...that I already know... " His good eye widened in realization.
" Evan are you okay? " Luz asked before he turn and ran for the door. " Nope can't do it! " Evan yelled out before Eda made a spell circle making a rope of energy and threw it like a lasso getting her son by the right leg and tried to yank him over. However, her son put up a fight
After a bit of struggling, he got a firm grip of the edge of the doorway. Which soon in turned into a tug of war trying to pry him off.
" No! I don't wanna go! I don't wanna go! I don't wanna go! " The one-eyed warlock cried out defiance holding the entrance of the owl house with Eda, Luz, King and Hooty all trying to pry him off.
" Ugh! Now I know how my mom feels... " Eda grumbled under her breath.
We now cut to Eda and Luz flying on Owlbert with Etan seen wrapped up in energy ropes with an angry expression on his face.
" Mmm, we gotta go back. This was a mistake! I'm gonna mess things up again and everyone will see, and-
Eda cut in. " Right, you gotta calm down. What are you nervous about? You've been to school before. "
" That's why I'm nervous! At my human school, I didn't make a good first impression. This is a chance to be seen as something other than a screw-up. "
" Hey, don't worry about what those dorks think. " Her mentor told her. " If you want my advice, walk into class and punch the first kid you see. To establish dominance. "
" Aw, I won't be doing that. But thanks. " Luz smiled as they entered Bonesborrough.
" I would. " Evan commented making Eda smirk. " See? Follow Evans example. And while I'm at it, Evan will you just give this thing a chance? We already talked about this. "
" Yeah, and a part of those talks went through one ear and out the other. " Evan replied bitterly.
" Evan c'mon. Our friends will be there at Hexside even Wilhelm. Please? Give it a shot? For me? " She asked in a pleading tone making Evan groan in annoyance as he blushed diverting his attention away.
" Fine... "
" Thank you. " Before long they land at Hexside and they disembark.
" Last chance to back out, and earn a new Bad Girl Coven patch. " She holds up a patch that reads "Quitter Badge". " Quitting: It's like trying, but easier. "
" Nah, I'll just earn it when I quit showering. Bye! " She starts to run off but her mentor called her out.
" Hold up! " She twists off her hand and throws it at Luz's head making her turn around. " Just try not to be too much of a goody Luz shoes. " She screws hand back on. " You got this. " Eda turns to her son.
" Also Evan... Break some faces. "
Her son gave her a blank face shrugging his shoulders. " Not exactly what a parent would tell their kid, but eh. I'll take it. "
" Thanks, Eda. In fac... " She proceeds to pull out two sock puppets of her and Eda out of her pockets. " I have written a heartfelt sonnet to commemorate this occasion. "
Much to the Owl Lady's convivence she was already going. " Whoops! A gust of wind just got me. See you after school! Love you Evie! Byeeee! "
Luz then makes the puppet Eda speak. " You're gonna do great, kid. "
" Thanks, Puppet Eda. "
" Please don't let there be one for me... " Evan whispered praying she wouldn't.
" I even got one for you to Evan. "
" And she does... " Luz swaps out the puppets for one showing the one-eyed warlock as an ugly sock puppet. " Let's do our best today Luz! " She said imitating his voice. " See, even Puppet Evan agrees with me. "
Evan sighed loudly holding his head up in the air as he turned around. " Lets just get this over with...By the way you were kidding about the shower thing, right? "
" Oh yeah. I'm not dumb enough to do that. I was just joking. " She replied back and up ahead they could see various banners, each one a different color and each bearing the symbol of the nine covens, including large blue banner hanging out reading: "WELCOME TO THE NEW SEMESTER".
Much like the one-eyed warlock and witch in training there were various other students arriving at Hexside. Luz looks around with a smile on her face while Evan groaned a bit annoyance having a much different feeling unlike his human friend. They then spot Amity along with an abomination mimicking her movements.
" Hey, Luz! Congrats on getting in. And not being in the baby class. "
" Thanks, Amity! " She looked around a bit. " Where's Wilhelm? "
" He caught a cold today. " She answered back.
" Oh, okay. Well, wp top! " The green head gave her a high five while much to Evan's inconvenience he got slobbered by the abomination right in the face.
" Walk away... " Evan managed to speak holding back his anger and Amity caught did just that wanting to avoid what the one-eyed warlock could do.
Evan meanwhile angrily wipes the goop off his face and the process spat out what got in his mouth. " Blegh! I know she's supposed to be on 'our side' now. But if I get slimed again, there will be bloodshed. " He said in a tone proving he was serious and nearby he wasn't aware of some of the looks he was getting from a lot of female students passing by eyeballing him, some of which had hearts in their eyes.
" Oh lighten up Evan, it's our first day at Hexside. This my chance to discover my true magical potential. And maybe meet a hot yet vulnerable upperclassman. "
" Dream on! " A sudden familiar voice spoke up startling the two making them turn around to see King emerge out from Luz's backpack.
" King? " The small demon jumps out of Luz's backpack landing on the ground. " Boop! "
" What are you even doing here? " Evan asked.
" Simple, you two are my free ride to the best buffet in town! Nyah! " He hops into trash can, comes out with a half-eaten donut. " The trash cans here are filled with half-eaten gold! "
" Okay, but if anyone asks, you don't know me. " Luz then proceeds to walk away. "
" Have a wonderful school day, person-I-don't-know! " King bid farewell and then looks over to Evan. " By the way, Evan I was thinking on doing a prank. Want in on it? "
" Hmmm...that's actually rather tempting. I'll think about it. " He replied before catching up to Luz and at the main staircase where Willow and Gus greeted them.
" Luz! Evan! "
" Hello, fellow Hexoleos! " Luz greeted back.
" Hello, classmates! " Willow went along with it and gave luz a wink.
" Yeah whatever... " Evan said much less enthusiastically making them turn to the female human.
" He's not to happy about this, so don't mind him. " Luz informed them.
" Well either way, this is great, both did it! " Gus summons letters reading out "BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME!" Seeing this made Willow glares at him. " Sorry, I was, uh, covering all my bases.
" So, do you know who those witches & warlocks are? " Willow asked gesturing to the nine banners behind them. " Those are the heads of the main nine covens. Each one excelled at a magic school like Glandus, St. Epiderm, and, of course, Hexside. Are you prepared to enter these hallowed halls? "
" No. " Evan answered and got elbowed in the gut by Luz.
" Hmm, that's what were gonna figure out right now. " She and Evan both go inside. " See you on the other side, friends. "
" See you later. " Gus summons more letters spelling out "GOODBYE FOREVER!" Willow glares at him again. " You know what? I'm just gonna admit it. I suck at this. " The illusionist admitted.
At Principal Bump's office, he's seen watching a crystal ball.
" A terrible development at Glandus High School. Students and teachers were found unconscious and without magic. The cause remains unknown. "
Hearing this apparently pleased the old warlock. " Ha! Take that, Glandus! Looks like this year's Grudgby match is going to be a forfeit. " The sound of the door opening and closing got his attention to see Luz and Evan enter the room.
" Hiya, Princy-B! Can I call you that? "
" Absolutely not. Now, today we'll be visited by the Emperor's Coven for a routine inspection. If we want to impress them, you'll both need to join a coven track before they arrive. "
" Actually, Principal Bump, I've made my own schedule. " She brings out a long scroll that unrolled onto his desk much to Evan's surprise while Bump raised an eyebrow seeing this as she drabbled on. " First, Vet Care for Mythical Beasts, then Healing and Dealing, and then after lunch- "
Bump laughed a bit bursting her bubble. " Studying multiple tracks at once? No one does that. Those sorts of things aren't very common, plus the chances are only one out of ninety-nine percent. "
" That might be, but I think I can do it. "
Bump got very serious. " No, you won't. " He holds up rule book with Emperor's Coven logo on it. " According to the rules, a good witch needs to hocus-focus. You can only pick one of the nine tracks. " He points to the track banners above him. " And you do not want to embarrass me in front of the inspector. "
" But all the tracks are so cool! Is there some sort of enchanted article of clothing that could sort this out for me? " Luz wondered.
" Luz, I don't they even have that. " Evan commented while Bump paused going into thought. " Actually...there used to be, but...it tried to keep eating our students. " He explained before shuddering a bit recounting the said events.
" Yeah, nice way to reinsure the parents this place is totally safe. " Evan said sarcastically making Bump frown seeing how this was most likely going to be a normal thing now that he was attending.
" I don't know if I can choose just one. " Luz was very hesitant with her choice and seeing this Bump got out of his seat to stand next to her and Evan.
" Then I'll choose one for you. " He starts tracing his finger through the banners. " Eeny, meeny, miny, moe! " He lands on the yellow banner. " Ah, yes! The Potions track. You humans are filled with liquids, right? " Bump casts a spell that changes the tunic and cowl of Luz's uniform to the standard greys and the sleeves and leggings to yellow.
" Oh, I guess I have always liked pouring things into other things. "
" I expect you to be on your best behavior." He glances over at a corkboard of with pictures of the results of Luz and Evan's previous visits to Hexside on it." Based on the costly repairs from recent incidents, we could really use a donation from the Emperor's Coven. Now, off to class. "
" Wait what about Evan? " Luz questioned in confusion gesturing to her friend who still didn't have any colors on his uniform.
" No need to worry. Besides, I need to talk to him...alone. "
" Oooh, sounds serious see you later. " Luz said going out the door leaving Evan alone with his new principle who looked a bit excited from the way his eyes were.
" Hmm-hmm. " Evan hummed back crossing his arms. " So what now? "
" Now it's time for you to choose one. "
" No. " Evan replied and walked to door only for him to be dragged back to his deck. "
" Evan, your magic potential is great. But you need to hocus focus as well. "
" Oh really? Can normal warlocks do this? "
With a simple spell circle alone, he literally did all nine magics, at a split second, summoning a plant, an abomination, a worm like monster, an oracle spirit, etc. He literally did all magic that the nine tracks at Hexside offered to teach. And seeing this alone, shocked Bump to his core, making his jaw drop.
" How? "
" Just because I'm the son of a wild witch doesn't mean I like to learn more magic. " Evan replied sarcastically back before dispelling what he made. " And to me that's just child's play. So I rest my case. " He goes over to the door to leave and as he did Bump snapped his fingers gaining an idea dragging Evan back over to his desk.
" Now what? " Evan was really starting to get annoyed with this.
" I just had a grand idea. Seeing your pure potential and talent alone, there's only one thing I can do. And that would be just letting you study all nine tracks. " Making a spell circle, Evan's uniform gained his color, more like multiple colors which both made Evan frown in disapproval.
" Wait, what? Your giving me what Luz wanted? And right after you gave her that lecture the same crap the emperor feeds everyone else? "
" I'm only doing this because out of every single student here, your now undoubtfully the strongest one at this fine school. "
" Flattery only gets you so far hypocrite. " Evan sneered making Bump give him a flat expression wondering just how and what Phil even saw in Edalyn Clawthorne. " Besides, what's the harm in it for Luz? She's human, not like us, and she actually wants to learn magic. So what the hell is holding you back from giving her the same treatment your giving me? "
" Okay, okay. Fair point. " Bump said before he put a hand on Evan's shoulder and started walking out with him. " That's why, I wish to show you something. "
" Can you not make the way you said it sound weird? "
" Are you going to be like this the entire time? "
Evan paused giving it a thought stroking his chin pretending he head a beard before answering. " Yeah... "
Bump groaned rubbing his forehead. " Why is your cousin so much more manageable at times? "
" Hey you wanted me, and you got me. " Evan retorted back as they exited his office, they heard a random student scream that echoed through the hallway.
" The Choosy Hat! It broke free! " As he said that the same student was seen running past them with the monster hat latched on his head. With a sigh Evan lazily made a spell circle shooting a bolt of electricity zapping the hat off of the student, and the poor sap himself. But it wasn't enough to kill him. Afterwards he went over and yanked it off the student and held out to Bump like it was a fresh trash bag telling the guy to take it out.
" Problem solved. "
We now cut to Luz who had just entered the potions tracked dubbed as 'Potions Track 101'
The homeroom teacher was a humanoid bird with white skin, wearing mostly yellow clothes.
" Welcome to a new semester! Let's get stirring! Today we'll make...fog brews. " He grabs a potion and smashes bottle on the floor before poping up in front of his desk. " Begin! "
" See, potions are fun! " Luz pours test tube into cauldron trying to convince herself. " You could spend the rest of your life studying this, right? "
Something explodes outside. Luz looks out the window. Willow and Selene are facing off as wind blows. Selene grabs a crystal ball, out of which pops a mummy-like ghost.
" The Oracle Track! " Willow traces a spell circle that she slams on the ground. A carnivorous flower grows out of the ground and hisses before charging at one another. " The Plant Track! " Luz who was excited as hell and in awe was seen pawing at the window. " Wow! " While she was fangirling over magic Luz didn't realize that the yellow smoke from her cauldron has taken over most of the room. Nor the potions teacher giving her a stern look.
" Ahem! "
" Sorry! " She quickly apologized and went back to stirring her cauldron. " Sorry. " The Potions Teacher walks away. She shudders a bit from the position she was in and was wondering if Evan was doing any better than she was right now.
In another part of the school Bump had just finished giving him a 'personal tour' of the campus where Evan was frowning in annoyance.
" Okay, I get that my mom was a hassle here, but seriously, is every teacher here gonna give the 'how is this possible' reaction cause I'm her kid? " Evan question sarcastically because that's exactly what happened. Minus a few teachers who were new.
" Well, to be fair even I was shocked to hear about you the first time. " Bump commented as they walked up some stairs. " Most of us expected Lilith to have kids. "
" Can we please change the topic now? " Evan questioned in annoyance still unaware that he was drawing attention from quite a bit of the female students who were watching him pass by. " Okay, I got to see the 'luxury tour' " He air quoted. " Now you gonna let go so I can get this day over with and go home? "
" Why are you so... " Bump paused for a moment trying to think of the right word to use. " So... "
" Difficult? " Evan guessed.
" Yes. Why are you being so difficult? "
" Because that's just me...Why do you believe we have to hold back our potential? "
" Personally, I don't. But, there has to be regulations to keep order in place. And without order and rules there'd be chaos. "
" Some of that I can get, but most rules are meant to broken anyways. " Bump only sighed hearing his response.
" You know, quite frankly you and Wilhelm are like to completely different people. He's mannered, while your in between. "
" Hey don't let Wilhelms looks and personality fool ya. He can still whoop my ass if I gave the chance, which mostly hardly happens. He wins some, I won some. By the way, what did you want to show me anyways? "
They entered a very large spacious room where there were no windows, nothing, it was one solid room. Evan entered the said room looking around .
" The heck is this? "
" Our special training area for those that have large amounts of magic and those who have a hard time controlling it. " Bump explained. " Your father trainer here and you're free to train here as well if you want to. "
"Okay I gotta admit this place is pretty cool. " Evan admitting nodding his head liking the area very much. before hearing the door close from behind him. " Hm? "
As he walked over he heard a lock click. Seeing this he knocked on the door where Bump slid a viewer on the front so he could see him. " Hey, why'd you lock the door? "
" I'm sorry Evan but I have to keep you in here."
" What!? "
" It's only until the inspector leaves. "
" And how long will that be? "
Bump winced a bit before answering. " A couple hours? "
" A couple of hours!? Hell no! Let me out! "
" I promise to make it up to you. " Bump quickly said as he closed the slide viewer.
" Wait... " Evan paused in realization. " What am I supposed to do if I need to use the bathroom!? " He got his question answered as a large bucket appear making Evan frown at even more. While outside Bump was walking away ignoring the angry sounds of Evan cursing like there was no tomorrow earning a few looks from a couple of students and teachers in the process.
Everyone leaves class while rotating her shoulder. " Ooh boy! Stirring is the pits. What else is on the schedule for today? " She pulls out a list reading: "Potions for Beginners, Potions in Motion, Potions (Again), Still Potions, Potions 'Till You Die, Potions After Death". Seeing this wasn't Oh, man! I'm sorry, elbow! "
Luz looks up. Selene replaces the crystal ball she had used in the battle in a closet and walks away.
" A crystal ball. Maybe it can show me if I'm on the right track. No, don't be tempted! It's your first day. Make a good impression. " She begins to walk away but the interest won over her and she walked over to the closet and grabs the ball. " Whoa! "
A spirit comes out of the ball. " You will be in trouble very soon. "
" Wow! " She paused at what the spirit told her and was unaware of another presence right behind her. " Wait, what'd you say? "
" Ahem! " The other presence cleared his throat making Luz turn around to see Bump giving her a disapproving look. Then without having time to react or explain the principal started to drag Luz through the halls gripping her arm.
" But I wasn't studying other subjects! I uh... fog brew! " She brings out one of the potions she made in class smashing it onto the floor making a bit of fog but not the amount she wanted. " Yeah. I figured that wouldn't work. "
From nearby King climbed out of a trash can. " Nyah. "

" Uh, right! I don't know you! " The canine does exactly what Luz told him to earlier that morning amd she glared at Principal Bump continues to drag her away
Cut to a classroom with bars on the door, which Principal Bump shoves Luz into. The Detention Teacher looks up from his scroll, and the students in the room glance over to the door.
The students consisted of an average looking guy, a dog wearing glasses and another male who looked like Beatle Juice. With freaky wild white hair with black rings around his brown eyes. Lastly there was the only female student present, Wilhelm's assistant Viney.
" What is this place? " Luz asked in a fearful tone.
" This is the place where all troublemakers go. " Bump makes a spell circle turning Luz's sleeves and leggings dark gray. " The detention tracks. "
Luz gasped in shock. " Nooooo! Detention track? But this can't be possible, I-I thought I- "
" Yes. Actual detention still needs... repairs. In the meantime, I am keeping all troublemakers far away from the eyes of the inspector. You may try for a new track next year. "
" But I'll be back in the human world by then. "
Principal Bump turned around giving her a cold hard look. " Maybe you'll do better in human school. " He said in a cold tone before closing the door behind leaving Luz to fend for herself in this very awkward situation.
The door closes as Principal Bump leaves. Luz smiles awkwardly at everyone in the room, then sits at the desk.
" Hello, fellow detentioners. Room for one more? [looks around] I like the little spikeys in your hair. "
" Hey! You all better be quiet, unless you want to scrub the classroom again. "
Hey, don't blame any of them. I'm the one that started talking. "
" Oh hurray. A hero. " He said sarcastically before a mop and bucket appeared in Luz's hands.
Luz walks off to get it started and overwith. " Aw, crap. " She cursed not aware that Viney watched giving her a smile.
Viney watches Luz walk off and smiles.
We now cut to King walking up to a trashcan. " Time to scrounge through the trash. " With a yelp he jumps in headfirst. Inside is an empty box of donuts with frosting rings. King starts to lick the frosting.
" That's it! I'm sick of someone eating all the donuts in the teacher's lounge. I quit! "An angry voice cried out as a tie is tossed onto King's head. He tries to take it off and knocks the trashcan over, rolling into a classroom while wearing the tie. The students all stare at him.
" Are you our substitute? " A male student questioned
" Substitute? I ain't no desk jockey. "
" Look at his professional looking tie! He must be! " Another male student said as King jumped onto the desk to look directly at him.
" Nyah! Can it, Fangs! You don't know diddly dang about squiddly squat! "
" Uh, yes, sir! Sorry, sir! " He apologized by giving King a bow.
" Obedience? Well, what is a teacher if not an authority figure? A king of children, if you will. " He runs to front of the room. " Yes! I am your teacher! You may call me Mr. King! "
King looks at them all in annoyance and starts clapping. The class applauds brightening up Kings joy and delight enjoying the power of authority he was getting today.
Back at the Detention Room, the Teacher was asleep and Luz is polishing the bars on the windows. Outside a female spider comes walking past the window outside with younger kids following her.
" Alright, kids. Who wants to go on a field trip to the astral planes? " She got multiple excited responses
" I do. " Luz said in sad tone wishing she didn't end up in the state she was in until a familiar voice called out to her. " Luz! " It belonged to Willow who came over with Gus to where she was.
" Oh, my gosh! I missed you so much. Let me squeeze your faces. " Willow lets her friend squeeze her cheeks, though weird she let her do so.
" What's going on? We didn't see you in any classes. " Gus was confused while Willow made Luz stop rubbing her cheeks.
" Yeah, and we haven't seen Evan either. " Willow added.
" You haven't seen Evan? That's weird. " Luz commented in confusion. " I haven't seen him here at the detention track at all. "
" The detention track!? " Willow was shocked to hear this. " Why are you in there!? "
" Bump caught me mixing magic... " She answered in an upset tone. " But, I'm better than this. Please, you gotta help me break out. "
" Don't worry. We'll get you out, dead or alive! " Willow glances at Gus, shakes her head disproving his choice of words and he corrected himself. " Okay. Alive. "
Luz smiled hearing her friend's words. " Aw, you guys. " But it got cut short after hearing the chair squeak. " It's the teacher. Gotta go! " She turns around and sees Viney very close to her making her gasp, in surprise. " It's you! "
" Shh. " Viney points to the snoring Detention Teacher, then gestures for Luz to follow her. Viney draws a square on the chalkboard with a keyhole in the center, then turns the chalk in the hole like a key. The square glows and swings open, revealing a passageway.
" Whoa. " Viney climbs through the hole, then helps Luz through. The square closes behind her.
" What is this place? "
" This is the last room you'll ever see alive. " Viney said in a threatening tone before waving her off. " Nah, just messing with ya. I'm Viney. "
" I'm terrified! Um, I mean... I'm Luz. "
" Thanks for standing up for us back there. Not many people would do that. Follow me! I wanna show you something. You're one of us troublemakers now, so you'll get special access to the Secret Room of Shortcuts! "
Viney opens a door, revealing a tower-like room with a spiraling ramp. The walls, floor, and ceiling are covered in doors and windows.
" Whoa. "
Viney called out to those who were in the room with them. " Hey Jerbo! Harold! Barcus! You can stop hiding now! "
Jerbo opens a door " How do we know she's cool, man? How do we know she won't turn us in? "
On que the freaky looking kid who was Harold spoke up. " Duh, just have Barcus tell us. "
Barcus only barked in response giving his answer and Jarbo translated what he said. " Barcus says your aura is strong and silly, like a baby's laughter. Welcome! "
" Aah! I love secret rooms! Where do the doors go? "
Luz opens one into a hallway where Amity is pacing talking to herself. " So, you two go to the same school now, that doesn't change anything. " She sighed & nearby Wilhelm walked over and gave Luz a wave she returned back before shutting the door confusing the green head making her turn around to see what it was but saw nothing. " Huh? "
Viney continued to explain giving her the tour. " This place connects the different parts of the school. We found it after being thrown in the detention track. The witchs and warlocks who made it is known as... She gestures to a defaced portrait and wall of signatures. " The Lords of Calamity. "
Jerbo walked up to the portrait. " They started this troublemaker wall, and we added our names in their honor. "
" This place is amazing. I bet you guys can get into so much trouble in here. "
Viney chuckled at what Luz said. " Sure, we can, but we can also do so much more. " She points to where Barcus is listening in on an Oracle class. Luz walks up and watches with him.
" Remember, seeing the end of a life is the beginning of reading a fortune. We have to work backwards from it to see the truth. " The teacher folds a fortune teller. and Barcus does the same as he folds one.
" We aren't allowed to study any kind of magic, so we study every kind of magic in secret. "
Luz jumped down sitting next to the more human like witch and warlocks. " You actually like school? "
" Yeah, we might have liked it too much. " Viney said in a sheepish tone as a montage starts explaining how they ended up in the detention track.
...
We see Jerbo wearing a Plant track uniform in the plant classroom with Principal Bump.
Jerbo " I tried mixing plant magic with abominations. "
An earthy abomination grows out from under the flower Jerbo grew. The abomination groans as it charged and started throwing flowerpots all around.
Jerbo " Bump was not thrilled. "
Bump gets hit in the face with a wad of dirt. We now see Barcus wearing a Potions track uniform in the potions class with the teacher and Bump present watching him.
Jerbo: " Barcus makes potions with oracle magic. "
Barcus mixes a potion in a cauldron stirring with a wooden spoon in his mouth. He tosses the spoon aside and then dumps a crystal ball into it. The Potions Teacher looks into the cauldron and sees herself rapidly age. This in turned made her scream and fall backwards, flipping a large cauldron over themself. Principal Bump shakes his head at Barcus.
Cut to a Healing classroom, where Viney, wearing a Healing track uniform, is looking at a scratch on a Bard student's arm as Bump enters the room.
Viney: " Mixing healing and beast keeping was slightly unconventional. "
Viney heals the Bard's arm and then draws another spell circle. A young griffin bursts through the chalkboard named Puddles coughing up some lollipops before Viney notices Bump glaring at her.
Viney: " But Puddles was a great assistant, dang it!
We now see the inside of the Bard Room where we see what appeared to be a rock concert going on with Harold shredding the guitar.
Harold: " I enjoy music and I figured adding in illusions would make the show way better. "
The warlock continued playing with one hand and used the other to make a spell circle which made a massive skeletal demon appear behind him breathing fire adding in more flare to his performance and the students in the room were loving it even as they were blown back into the wall from how powerful the sounds and kept cheering away all except for Bump who was face flat on the floor.
Harold: " Then again, I can get a little 'carried away'. "
The montage ends.
" We all want to be in more than one coven track! "
" Yeah, but all we hear from Bump is just that we need to focus. " Harold scoffed a bit remembering his words. " Psh, what does he know? "
" Sounds like Bump's priorities are out of whack.
" I'm glad you're one of us. You've made a great first impression. " She pulls out a marker. " Would you like to add your name to the troublemaker wall?
" Aw! " she reaches for the marker but then Willow's voice is heard from the other side of the wall echoing. " Luz? We're here to get you out of that horrible class. "
Everyone looks at the human in question who grew nervous. " Eh, they're probably looking for some other Luz. "
Viney stands and peeks through the main entrance. Willow and Gus are looking around the detention classroom.
" Maybe she already booked it. " Willow whistles like she's calling a dog trying to call her. " She did say she was better than this place. "
Viney grew angry upon hearing this and closed the door turning to Luz. " Oh. You think you're better than us? "
" No, no, it's not like that. I just didn't think I deserved- I mean, none of us deserve- "
" Jacques! " Jarbo cut her off. " I should've known you'd look down on us. Everyone else does. "
Barcus sneezed and captions appeared reading " You have an aura of lies. "
" I can't believe I was gonna give a performance and to someone who doesn't appreciate it! " Harold complained.
" It's fine, I just... I thought someone's finally understood us. But, maybe you should just leave. " She points to the door much to the rest of the troublemakers shock all while Luz hung her head down in shame knowing she brought this onto herself. " I understand. "
In the detention room Gus was playing with the Detention Teacher's mustache who was still sleeping.
" Man, this guy can sleep through anything. " He gains a devious smirk and grabs the mop. " I'm gonna test that theory. "
" No. We have to find Luz. If only these walls could talk. " Just as she said that Luz's sad and regretful face was seen.
" Hey, guys. " Without even trying Luz slid out of the door slumping onto the floor face first. Thinking she got her wish she smiled at the door.
" Thank you, walls! " She helps Luz stand up. " We found a way to get you out to talk to Principal Bump.
" We have an expert disguise! " He grabs a trashcan. " Hop in! It's got holes for your gangly teenage legs.
Luz looks at the wall as Viney closes the door slamming it. " Yeah. That's right where I belong. " She said still in the mood because she did feel like garbage so where else would it go, but the trashcan.
" And this way the inspector won't see you either. "
Luz climbs into the trashcan. Gus puts the lid on Luz's head. She stands and walks off. Willow and Gus follow her. Camera pans to the still-snoring Detention Teacher. Gus pops up next to him and puts the mop on his face. He continues snoring.
" Incredible. "
Outside the school's entrance a swirl of blue energy appears scaring off a few nearby students in the process. It dissipates, revealing a female inspector from the Emperor's Coven.
" Welcome to Hexside, inspector. " Bump greeted her as she walked up to him.
" Greetings, Principal Bump. " She replies back giving him a bow. " If everything's in order, the Emperor's Coven will be happy to cover your repairs. "
" Excellent. Please come this way. We've prepared a show with some of our finest students. "
At the school's stage we see an abomination stomping on stage. It growls and holds Amity up like an figure skater. They pose. The abomination puts Amity down.
" And that concludes the presentation from the Abomination track. " She and her abomination bow while Bump gives them a polite applause turning to the inspector.
" That was some real Hexside magic, huh? "
" Yes, this is... good! But let's see if your student can put up more of a fight! " She said standing up throwing the clipboard aside.
" Yes, yes- " Bump realized what she just said. " Wait what? "
The inspector slams her hands down on the stage. Her face deforms, becoming more reptilian like and licked her lips in anticipation.
" Is, uh, this part of the inspection? " Bump asked fearfully hoping it was, but it wasn't.
" Abomination, fight! " Amity's abomination runs forward and grabs the inspector. The inspector fully transforms into a a massive snake like creature and flings the abomination into the air. It growls and swallows the abomination. It slithers toward Amity, who backs away slowly in fear.
" The magic at Glandus High was tasty. But I hope yours will be more filling. "
Seeing this Bump quickly rushes over to his student getting between Amity and the inspector. " Amity, stay back. She's an impostor! "
Principal Bump draws out a spell circle. The inspector inhales, swallowing the spell circle and draining his magic. His skin turns gray and he collapses. Amity tries to cast a spell, but her magic is also drained, and she falls unconscious next to Principal Bump subcoming to the effects of the basilisk syphoning their magic.
We now cut to see Luz and her friends walking through the halls where the human was no longer in a trashcan. The human girl only sighed sadly with how her first day was going,
still feeling guilty for how she was quick to misjudge the students in the detention track. Which only worsened because she also lost the chance to make more friends at her new school
" Don't worry, Luz! Once we talk to Bump, we'll get everything sorted out. " Willow reassured her. " Plus, we'll you find Evan. "
" I know, but what's the point if people get hurt on the way?
" That is a fair question. " Gus said. " Here's another question. What the heck is that?! " He screamed pointing forward.
Up ahead, the Oracle Teacher is running away from the inspector, which is taking over most of a hallway. The teacher stops and casts a beam of light. The snake like demon slurps the beam of light up like spaghetti. The teacher falls, drained of magic.
Willow, Luz, and Gus all scream upon seeing this which drew the serpents attention laughing a bit. " More cute morsels! "
" We may be cute, but we're nobody's morsels! " Willow said as she summoned a carnivore plant followed by Gus jumping across it's face.
" Time for a power-up! " Gus gives the plant buff arms. The plant launches itself at the inspector. It catches the plant with its tail and eats it. Willow and Gus both fall, drained of magic. Willow tries to draw another spell circle but do to her state she couldn't.
" I feel... so weak. " Seeing where this would go Luz quickly acted and brought out a note pad containing her glyphs running out in front of her friends.
" Eat this! " She activates a light glyph on it, then throws it in the inspector's mouth. The spell activates, and the inspector screams, spewing out shredded paper.
While the snake was occupied she quickly helped up Willow and Gus putting their arms over her shoulders to help get moving. " I'll get you guys somewhere safe! "
" It burns! It burns! " The inspector cried out and as Luz was moving a piece of chalk fell out of her uniform. Seeing this Luz acted quickly drawing the outline of a door and tapped it created a passage to the Secret Room of Shortcuts bursting inside getting the detentionee's attention.
" Guys! I need your help! "
" Tch, are you serious? " Harold asked.
" What are you doing here? " Viney added showing she was still freshly mad at her.
" I'm sorry for hurting your feelings, but please listen! " Luz begged falling in the process not able to help carrying her friends while dropping Willow in the process. " Argh! Willow! "
Viney, Harold Jerbo, and Barcus all gasp in shock seeing the state their fellow students were in.
" What happened to them? " Viney asked as Harold rushed over to help lower Gus to the floor.
" Something horrible is loose in the school. " Luz shows them by opening a door to show the inspector draining more students' magic.
" Don't let it see us! " Viney said quickly closing the door before their cover would be blown. " I think that's a greater basilisk. I heard about them in a class. My cousin at St. Epiderm said she saw one, but those things should be extinct. "
" Yeah, well they aren't now. " Harold commented bluntly.
" It must've attacked the other schools, and now it's come for us. " Luz quickly weighed in on their options, normally Evan would be the one to come up with a plan but he wasn't there so in that meant she had to take charge. " We have to do something. "
Everyone became hesitant as Jerbo was the first to speak up. " But if Bump catches us mixing magic again- "
" He'd kick us outta school. " Viney finished explaining
" Yep, we'd be getting the boot. " Harold added in sadly.
" Hexoleos are out there gettin' hurt... " Luz started taking charge jumping down next to her out of commision friends. " And right now, we're the only ones who can save them. We're troublemakers, right? So let's go out there and make some trouble. "
Viney, Harold Jerbo, and Barcus share a look unsure if they ought to go with the plan or not.
Right now we see the Greater Basilisk sucking out the magic out of a few students who fell to the ground after getting drained.
" Hungry! Still hungry! " The snake said as she continued to slither through the halls looking for her next victim. However, as the basilisk looked around, she caught a whiff of something. " Hmm? "
She turned to the door that lead to the 'Special Training Room' and grew excited licking her lips once more. " Ooooh...there's something in here. Someone with a lot of magic. " Leaning down she user her hands to unlock it.
Upon opening the door open she saw what attracted her inside. It was Evan who was up against the wall reading a manga.
" About damn ti- " Evan paused his sentencing upon seeing what busted open the door. " Ooookay...Weird. " The one-eyed warlock said as he put the reading material away stood up and tilted his head in confusion. " Who the hell are you? "
" So you're the one giving off the smell. " The serpent took a few whiffs of the air making Evan raise an eyebrow in confusion sighing in content. " Oooh, very intoxicating. "
" Lady, I'm still a minor and I'm not interested in whatever freaky fetishes you might have. " Evan said in a flat tone still not intimidated by its presence. And then the basilisk opened her mouth and began to try and suck Evan's magic but the moment, she did the serpent began to start coughing like crazy.
" W-*coughingx4* What's going on!? " Compared to what Luz had given her was bad, and yet for some odd reason out of every single being she's ever feasted on, it was this young warlock magic that although tempting, it was like eating a whole bunch of ghost chili peppers making her stomach upset, enough to make her gag. As she was still in her coughing fit, Evan leaned to the right and saw a few students outside looking a bit out of it.
" I'm taking the guess you're the one causing the trouble here. " Evan guessed the obvious while the greater basilisk finally caught her breath. " So, are gonna fight or what? "
Hearing this question made the serpent chuckle in amusement. " You? Fight me? What can you possibly do? "
" Apparently something, since your trick isn't working on me for some reason. " Evan retorted.
" Very well. Have it your way, I haven't had a different dinner in a while. " Then just like that in a split second the snake lunged forward.
Evan only smirked at the incoming foe not even flinching or showing any signs of hesitation and jumped up to the side and landed a right hook sending the basilisk flying out of the room crashing into some lockers.
" C'mon you really gotta go headfirst? " Evan questioned as he exited out of the room, beginning to taunt her. " You desperate or something? Then again, of course not. Nobody would want an old had like yourself. " He finished with a light chuckle aggravating the basilisk and started to give chase. Figuring this could lead to somewhere Evan decided to play along as he ran through the hallways.
As he did a door opened up from nearby and out from it came Luz wearing the same cloak from yesterday during her entrance exam. " Okay, now where's that basilisk? It should be... "
" Ha! You're even slower than a worm! " A mocking voice called out making Luz turn to see Evan running down the hall as he slid down the stair well laughing away having the time of his life with the snake going down after him.
" Oh there's Evan... "
" Luz's what's the hold up? " Viney called out. " Are we doing this or not? "
" Um...guys? I think we don't have to worry about it now... "
" Why? " Jarbo questioned in confusion before they heard Barkus go all crazy from a nearby door.
" Whoa! Look at this guy go! " Harold called out making the troublemakers rush to see what they were looking at. It turned out Evan had now ended up in the cafeteria with the greater basilisk going crazy beyond irritated trying to kill the young warlock smashing tables and even throwing some at Evan who kept avoiding them with ease. In fact he even caught one of the tables and threw it back causing it to shatter into pieces upon hitting her face.
" Ha! Looks like you could use a makeover! Hahahaha! " Evan laughed as he went through the next set of doors with the snake following behind him leaving the troublemakers stunned with their jaws dropped minus Luz.
" Who the heck is that guy!? " Viney asked out loud trying to absorb what was happening.
" My roommate. " Luz answered earning a few looks from everyone's that meant 'answers later.'
...
Meanwhile the Greater Basilisk was losing breath, she never been this tired before. Nor has she ever had any problems with any witch or warlock except for 'him'. Hell he was even able to cover his trail, she couldn't smell his magic, nothing. It was almost like he vanished like a ghost. In fact, now she was feeling something else, fear. Much like when a predator plays with it's prey and right now, she was in the corner like a rat, & the only thing she could do was fight back, even if there no chance.
" *panting* Wh-Where are you!? "
" Surprise! " From out nowhere a massive black hand swatted the snake catching it by surprise flying through the doors that landed itself back to where it started it's feeding frenzy, the school's auditorium.
Evan entered the room while the basilisk groaned regaining her senses. " Why are you here? " He questioned.
" What? "
" I said why are you here? For a demon you gotta lot of guts laying waste to entire school and taking everyone's magic.
" I don't need to tell you anything. " The serpent spat back. " Now you tell me, what are you? "
" Nobody special really. "
" Ha! Do I look like I'm stupid enough to buy that lie? "
" No, I'm not. "
" Your magic says otherwise. " The greater basilisk began to slowly slither around him and despite the position he was in Evan was very calm showing no signs of intimidation. " Up till now, I've never tasted a magic so fowl. So what are you really? "
" I'm just the son of a rogue witch and warlock. Nothing more. "
" Is that so? You know there's a distant difference whenever I siphon ones magic, I also feel what kind of individual they are. A lot of these morale's were both arrogant and innocent. "
" And what's your point? "
" I feel two sides fighting. One is good, & the other...evil. " She paused leaning from behind him ready to snap her jaws. " So tell me, which side wins in the end? "
" Probably whichever I feed the most. " Evan said as he made a spell circle and snapped his fingers in the circle. And it was there that some kind of black mass appeared forming into tentacles that wrapped around the serpent in a split second before she could lash out at him. She did her best to resist, but slowly and surely the greater basilisk was ensnared up in the air. Then without even looking back, Evan clenched his right fist and a sickening crunching noise was heard.
Then a thud was heard, Evan turned around to see the greater basilisk wasn't moving nor breathing. The serpent was good as dead, as it laid there a series of floating blue orbs leaked out from it's mouth. It was all of the magic it ate from all the places it had been, now that the energy was free each orb starts returning from where it originated. Like when two small blue orbs was absorbed back into Amity and Bump who gasps as they get their magic back and wake up.
As for the rest of the orbs they phase through the walls flying through the air as they make their journey to return back to their respective witch and warlocks.
" Evan! " He turns around to see Luz coming emerging from a trap door over the stage along with Jarbo, Barkus, Viney and Harold.
" Luz? " His friend ran up and hugged up to him along with the detentionees who were excited by this new individual sudden appearance and display of magic power.
" That amazing! A bit excessive but still you... "
" Are in so much trouble! " Bump spoke up grabbing their attention cutting off Luz to give them a scolding. " Leaving your homeroom, and- is that a secret hideout? " Bump pointed up to the said room where Willow and Gus duck away from the opening.
" Yeah, it is. But let's think about this, Principal Bump. Why would kids in the detention track need a secret hideout? "
" I don't care to know the ins and outs of rascality. " He pulls out the rule book. " But if the Emperor's Coven can send an actual inspector this time- "
" Oh just shut up! " Evan groaned. " The hell should it even matter? They want to learn and your telling us it's a crime to do so? It's a freakin school just let them. What harm is gonna bring? "
" B-but- " Bump hugs rule book but then Evan grabs the book out of his hands and burns it. " What are you- "
Evan cut him off by pointing to the dead basilisk on the floor. " You see that? I just killed that thing with no problem saving this dump and you had the freakin the nerve to trick me and lock me up give me what you denied Luz. " He said gesturing to his uniform. " Especially when you made the specific condition on making me enroll or else Luz wouldn't be here right now. For shame old man. " The one-eyed warlock shook his head in disproval. " For shame. "
" Boo! " Everyone's joined in upon hearing putting Bump in the bad spotlight. " Not cool ya dingus! Not cool! " Gus added more salt to the wound.
Seeing that he was in the wrong here and the fact that son of his school's most infamous troublemaker brutally killed the basilisk saving the day he gave a sigh of defeat. " Alright, alright. I'm smart enough to know when I've made a mistake. Which tracks would you like to be in? " The troublemakers all got excited at this opportunity.
" Healing and Beast Keeping! " Viney replied.
" Plants and Abomination! " Harbo answered
" Bard and Illusions! " Harold gave his answer with Barkus giving his answer for Potions and Oracle.
" Then so be it. " He changes their uniforms to reflect their new tracks and gives them a glare. " But if any of you cause more property damage, I'm feeding you to the choosy hat. "
" Yeah, I love to see you try. " Evan replied back in a flat tone and jabbed his thumb over to Luz. " You already know what she wants so just do it. " Luz's uniform changes from gray to several different colors each one reflecting on each track. Seeing this, the human girl smiled now knowing she had more chances to learn more about magic. And the best part she also able to study along with her friends including Evan so that was a plus.
Knowing something that would help change up the mood Bump made a spell circle. " You know, only one student in the school's history was able to study every track while another desired it to. But, unfortunately she was never given the opportunity. " With a spell circle made he brought fourth the lord of Calamity's picture perking up everyone's interest.
With a wipe of his hand, the graffiti on the picture disappears, and what they saw surprised Luz but also made Evan smile. It Eda in her youth when her hair was orange, standing back-to-back with Phil while right behind you could see a younger Saul giving out a piece sign with a purple haired girl who was most likely a younger Hilda giving out a raspberry.
" I shoulda guessed. " Luz chuckled a bit patting Evan on the back.
" Evan... " The one eyed warlocks attention turned to Bump. " For what it's worth, I'm sorry for locking you up. "
" You're damn right you are... " Evan snapped back before walking off. " And I thank the proper apology would be letting us go home for the day. "
Luz turned over to her newly made friends. " I'll see you all tomorrow? "
Viney only smiled back extending out her right hand for a fist bump. " Sure but bring him next time. " She said pointing over to Evan who was still walking off.
" Sure. " Luz returned the gesture and ran to catch up to Evan feeling exhausted after a long first day as well.
We now cut to see Principal Bump walking through the halls, writing in the rule book.
" The coven denies knowing about the basilisk, but that won't stop me from writing a very stern letter. "
Nearby King was bidding farewell to his 'students for the day'. " Alright. Read chapters three to five on the right way to scratch yourself in public. Spoiler alert: There's no wrong way! " He sighs in content holding a coffee mug. " Days like these makes being a teacher all worth it. "
However, his mojo was broken because Bump was staring down at King in disproval. " You're not a teacher. "
" Weh? " The canine glanced at the principal. " Maybe not, but I care about these kids! " He tosses his coffee right into the old warlock's face. " And nothing can change that. "
At the front entrance, the doors burst open. Principal Bump is seen waving a broom at King as the demon flees, squealing like a fleeing animal.
After coming back home, everyone sat down enjoyed ing a nice hot meal that Eda prepared along with Evans help. The Owl Lady absolutely loved all the details on how their first day went. While she wasn't pleased with what Bump did, she also approved of Evans actions putting the older warlock in his place after showing off what she called 'Clawthorne Spirit'.
On top of that she loved hearing the fact that she, her husband and their friends were still revered by the troublemakers at the school. Heck she also proud to know that her son and student got the chance to study all the tracks Hexside had to offer. Especially considering it was something she wanted to do, but only her lover was able to at that time so it was really good to hear.
After dinner was done, Luz volunteered to help Eda do the dishes and let Evan take the first shower considering he had it a bit rougher today then she did.
At the tower behind the Owl House we see Evan sitting on the ledge letting his legs hang out watching the sunset. In his hand was a cold drink that he took sipping it in content.
" Long day... " Evan breathed out.
" I'll say. "
" Aaahh! " He jumped now realizing Luz was sitting right next to him. " How'd you get here? "
" I just got up here. "
" You sure you aren't a ninja in disguise? "
" No..." He smirked putting her hoodie on donning a ninja look. " Or am I? "
" Uh-huh. " Evan chuckled a bit at her antic. " So, everything turned out the way you wanted it to huh? "
" Aside from the crazy stuff that went down. Yeah, it did. How about you? "
" Eh, crappy, but with a good ending. " Evan replied. " Still annoyed by the teachers acting surprised to see me though. "
Luz chuckled a bit. " Headlines, son of best student and legendary troublemaker attends Hexside. "
" Well gee, thanks for adding salt in the wound. " Evan commented sarcastically adding in more content triggering a bit of laughter between the two before they calmed down keeping their eyes on the sunset.
" You know Evan, I feel really good about this. " Evan glanced over at her.
" Really? "
" Remember how I said back at home I didn't fit in and how basically my school life was- "
" A disaster at times? " Evan guessed cutting off her sentence.
" Yeah. And this time, I actually have a lot more friends then I did back home. Which were mostly reptilian. "
" Hope there's no hard feelings after today. " Evan commented referring to the basilisk.
" Nah it'll be fine. " Luz waved off what he said.
" I'll tell you something else. You don't give yourself enough credit on how brave you are. "
Luz raised an eyebrow at this a bit confused glancing over at him. " I don't? "
" No. Luz, you are a human being trying to learn magic in the underworld. A place where most of humanity think it's just imaginary, not only are you learning from a real witch, but your attending a school for magic. Everyone is different then you, in more ways than one. But you keep at it, day after day. That's brave. Anyone who could do that, is proof that even the most pipiest of dreams can happen...somehow. "
Luz smiled and leaned onto his shoulder. " Thanks Evan.
He was really glad she didn't see his cheeks heating up. " Anytime. "
" You wanna watch a movie in a little bit? "
" Eh, maybe. I'll think about it. " The one eyed warlock replied before she got up and made her way down. " Well...that happened. "
" Smooth words their son. " A familiar voice spoke up making Evan look down to see his mother giving him a smirk poking out through a window.
" How long you been there? "
" The whole time. " She replied as her boy jumped down catching the edge of the roof top and climbed his way inside. " You know Evan...As much as I didn't like that dump, I got to meet your dad and had some good times there. That's only thing good I got from it. "
" I know. Where you going with this? " Evan said in a blank tone with Eda smiling a bit.
" Evan...how do you feel about Luz? "
Hearing this made the owl lady's son grow a bit tense for a bit crossing his arms. " Why are you even asking that? You already saw it yourself. " Eda knew he was talking about 'the dream'. The same one he had not long ago.
" I know, but I want to hear it from you. "
He simply shrugged his shoulders. " Maybe I feel less like crap? I don't know..."
" Well the only reason your going to Hexside is because she would be there. So that's got to count for something. "
" Hmm...No it wouldn't work out... " Evan replied back as he started walking only for Eda to put a hand on her shoulder.
" Evan come on, like you told Luz don't sell yourself to short. You might be well... "
" Weird? "
" No, odd. I was gonna say odd. You're still a good person and a hell of a warlock especially at your age. Evie, come on, don't worry about that dream. That's all it was, just a dream. "
" I can't help it though... "
" And that's good. It means you care about her wellbeing...Evie, there's moments in your life that are can be good and other times suck. But sometimes you just gotta take a chance. " Eda chuckled a bit. " I know I did with your dad...If I'd known it'd lead up leading me to have you when I was younger, I would've just laughed it off like it was a prank or just some bad joke. So that's why you have to be willing to try, even if it doesn't work out the way you thought it would, you at least know that you gave it a shot. " She gently pets him. " So just think about it for a while ok? "
Evan nodded his head before he suddenly perked up remembering something.
" Hey mom? "
" Yes? "
" I did something else to Bump. "
She grew very curious. " Oh yeah? What's that? " Evan motioned for his mother to come closer in which she did. He then proceeded to whisper something that made Eda's eyes go wide before giving her son a big smile and hug him.
" Evan, I love ya. "
" Love you to mom. " He returned the gesture.
At Hexside in the early morning we see Bump enter the school and was making his way to his office while he was in thought sighing a bit.
" Maybe I was a bit to hopeful on Evan to be like Phil. " He smiled a bit. " One things for sure he defiantly has fathers smarts and his mother rebellious spirit. There might be a possibility that he won't be exactly like Eda and hopefully stay out of trouble to. "
Bump stopped at his office and unlocked the door going inside.
But, when he did...*Boom!*
The whole entire office, including himself was covered in blue paint. Instead of being angry he only hummed whipping the paint off of his face like it was problem at all. " Or not. "

Okay, yeah I will admit this might seem like a hot mess, but honestly I'm fine with it sure it was supposed to be one of Luz's moments but hey there's always next time. As for Evan chewing out Bump, you tell me that wouldn't listen to the same guy who killed a big ugly monster that even bested you?
Plus a new episode for Owl House is coming around in two days, I'm anxious to see what'll unfold and whatever does happen will add content to the story, but won't change the direction I'm going with it either. So hopefully we don't get a crappy ending as the series draws to a close.
When it does, it'll leave a lot of room for one's imagination to work with, I very much would like to do things that the show didn't do as well.
Speaking of which, the next chapter, we'll finally be getting another quest, concerning a certain item that was given to them by the Bat Queen, along with a special twist at the end of it.

Yes, that was the full plan not to involve him with Adventures in The Elements, that was Luz's chance and opportunity to grow, all character's need that. As for the possibility of there being more Glpyh's. I'd say yes. Very good possibility.

Yep, I did enjoy writing that chapter very much along with revealing the voices for new characters as well including one of those moments you meet someone, and you don't realize who they really are. Eh, maybe I haven't done everything that canon, but that's just the way it is. And I don't judge you for favoriting the crappiest episode of the series either. You have your opinion and I have mine. But as I keep telling everyone else, there's also a bit of life aspects in this story as well. Not just made up, real stuff to that happens in life more commonly then we think. I won't what it is, but you and everyone else will see eventually as this progresses on.
Other then that hope you like this, and I'll try to update my Kipo Story when I can. Hopefully when things start settling down on my end to.

Well sure, but let's think for a minute if we were on someone's shoes like that. Just go 'hey I had a dream where I ate you'. Does that sound like something so easy to come out with? As for the Dark Souls Vibe, yeah just the backstory, but actually it's a mixture of two different games, The Legend of Spyro New Beginning and lastly a good old favorite. Blue Dragon. The new friend is based off of one of the many bosses you fight in the game itself. Say what you will, but that thing is a cult classic.

Nah, I like Trigger and understand the ending and I like Tiga, but most likely it'll be another original I made. Heck, I'd either go for Kill La Kill, or go for that great cartoon that ended when it could've been good Symbiotic Titan. Either one, I already have the last original two in their assigned positions. 1. I'd wager yeah he would in that small sense. Because let's face it, the guy made one appearance in the season so far and suddenly it triggers possible emotions? Yeah, I have a hard time with that one especially since he could've made an appearance earlier in the series.
2. Hmm, that's a possibility right there.
3. Well you gotta understand it from Eda perspective, while Gwendolyne cared for her it also made Eda think having her curse was a burden. And on top of that, having a child while being cursed and passing it onto them. Eda would have every right not to tell her about Evan in that sense.
