Fixed something...
Nora slowly opened her eyes as she saw an unfamiliar ceiling.
She slowly sat up on the bed and looked around the room but then she saw a black hair covered under a blanket on the couch.
Nora quietly made her way towards the couch as she heard small exhales.
Carefully opening the blanket she saw a haggard looking Ren.
On a table she saw a plate covered with a silver lid, next to it is some comics and an expensive syrup.
'I guess I know who left these things.' She smiled as she was about to take the lids off the door opened there she saw Pyrrha and Jaune holding trays filled with food.
"Oh Nora, how are you feeling?" Jaune smiled as he walked closer towards the table followed by Pyrrha.
"I'm feeling fine now actually." Nora answered as she removed the lid there she saw a stack of pancakes still warm. She saw Jaune and Pyrrha sit down on the table
"Ren made that earlier before going back to sleep." Jaune said.
"We asked for the staff for the table so we can have breakfast here, it's great that Ms. Goodwitch agreed to that." Nora looked at Ren, Jaune and Pyrrha, tears started to flow from her eyes. As happiness seeped in from her chest.
Nora then proceeded to eat her pancakes together with Jaune and Pyrrha.
"The Knights of Favonious has arrived in Liyue Harbor Ningguang" A woman with purple hair tied into a twin tail said as she dropped paperwork's on the table.
"That's great to hear, it was also thanks to their Acting Grandmaster that we were able to know what the Fatui's goal, thank you for telling me Keqing." A woman with white hair named Ningguang answered, she is sitting behind the desk checking out the paperwork's that was dropped off.
"Our goal is to talk with Rex Lapis about the Gnosis, I hope it goes well during the Rite of Descension." She continued.
"I hope so too... Now I shall go and patrol with the Millileth, after what happened to Mondstadt, most people were cautious or outright avoid anything that involves Fatui though people still interact with the Snezhnayan tourist in Liyue. Even some people of Liyue withdrew their funds from the Northland Bank after what happened." The purple haired girl said as she made her way towards the door.
"I guess that is natural after hearing what they did, anyways keep yourself safe during your patrol and don't worry about what the Fatui is going to do just focus on the safety of the people today and during the Rite of Descension." Ningguang said as Keqing nodded towards her. Then she left the room.
"I hope so too... Now I shall go and patrol with the Millileth, after what happened to Mondstadt, most people were cautious or outright avoid anything that involves Fatui though people still interact with the Snezhnayan tourist in Liyue. Even some people of Liyue withdrew their funds from the Northland Bank after what happened." The purple haired girl said as she made her way towards the door.
"Yelan, I want you to find out all the things that the Fatui is doing, use underhanded tricks if you have to." The woman now named Yelan smirked and nodded
"I'll do it right away." and not even a few second she disappeared.
...
"Sir Kaeya, Master Diluc has ordered me to give this to you." A hooded woman suddenly appeared Infront of Kaeya handed an envelope to him. Kaeya immediately recognized the seal and took the envelope.
Stay on guard during the Rite, Let me and Adelinde do the info gathering. The Qixing has also sent their own Intelligence Agent so for now just stay put, I'll send you some information after doing my own investigation. Kaeya read the letter then immediately burned it.
"Thank you for sending me this." The hooded woman nodded then disappears in a hazy mist.
'The Hidden Blades of Mondstadt.' Kaeya sighed.
'An organization that was disbanded after the death of my adoptive father. Many tried to hire them but they only accepted my adoptive brother's recruitment.Though it's probably due to father's help in letting them stay relevant even after all the oppositions they faced during the reformation and probably due to Diluc's former position as their Captain in the knights.
They're the best information gatherers in Teyvat that even the Fatui are wary of them, with their help I wont have to worry about any inaccuracies in the reports.' Kaeya heard a creak on the woods behind him, his hand immediately held on his sword's handle.
Kaeya hastily push his chair with his foot and jumped towards the desk to gain some distance from the intruder.
His sword was met with a string made out of water.
"And you are?" Kaeya said as he pointed his sword on the woman's neck.
"Hmmm. Why don't you guess?"
"Fatui?" Kaeya saw the woman smile as he tensed then he felt a string wrapped around his neck.
"To think that you're this weak. Is this really what Mondstadt sent?" Kaeya gritted his teeth and glared towards the woman.
"Oh? Did I hurt Mr. Knight's pride? Oh! I'm m so sorry." Kaeya felt the string tighten.
"Lady I suggest that you don't underestimate me." The woman flinched as she felt the coldness of the air.
Ice started to crawl under Kaeya as the strings froze and crumbled.
The woman was surprised after seeing this display of vision control but she immediately smiled and laugh.
Kaeya was puzzled as to why she started laughing.
"I was just messing with you, though I guess I was underestimating you a bit earlier, cause I remember back then when I was working with a knight from Mondstadt and he was so incompetent but so arrogant, I'm glad today is different." The woman said as she sat on the table.
Kaeya still didn't lower his blade.
"Alright alright. Phew. Im Yelan an Information agent and I'm currently working with the Liyue Qixing." Hearing Kaeya immediately lowered and sheathed his sword. He also saw Yelan held her right hand up.
"Kaeya Alberich, Calvary Captain of the Knights of Favonious." Seeing that she is trying to have a hand shake Kaeya reluctantly held her hand and shook it.
'Such soft hand.' Kaeya thought but immediately focused.
"I apologize for doing such thing towards you and also apologize on the actions of the knight you worked with, though by the gist of things you've said he's probably kicked out now since we've had some reformations."
"Hm. I see! A pleasure to meet you Sir Kaeya! And I hope I have a pleasure working with you."
"I hope so too." Kaeya insincerely said as he immediately let go and started to clean up the things that fell from his desk.
"I'll try to send some informations with you."
Yelan said as she sat on the edge of the window.
"Let us exchange informations then, in the later date."
"Now then this farewell until we meet again Captain." The woman disappeared from the window.
"I don't like her personality." Kaeya muttered to himself as he cleaned up his mess.
"Pot meets kettle brother."
"Shut it." Kaeya immediately did a double take as he saw Diluc sitting on his chair.
"THERE'S A DOOR THERE STOP USING MY WINDOW!" Kaeya's voice echoed throughout the hotel and Diluc covered his ears with his palms.
"Also what do you want?"
"Giving you info." Diluc handed Kaeya a folder.
"My men found out that the Fatui are making these things they call Sigil of Permission, it would seemed that the Fatui has managed to recreate the sigil that Rex Lapis made, as for the reason why they need it and where they are going to use it well its still unknown." Kaeya read the folder.
"We've also found out the harbinger that is running this clown show. Turn the page." Kaeya immediately did so.
There he saw a picture of a man with short, messy-yet-manicured orange hair and deep blue eyes.
"The eleventh of the Harbinger, Childe."
"What are these sigil?"
"You really didnt acknowledged the Harbinger."
"After what they did especially that woman, Ive come to despise them. Though I might need your assessment of his fighting strength, for now lets talk about the sigil."
"Sigil of permission is a sigil made by Rex Lapis or Morax, it was used by mortals to harness adeptal powers but since that was hundreds of years ago it lost its power, also people who holds these sigil will not only be able to enter adepti territory but it will also keep the adeptus from harming them."
"I see so there is a chance of them weakening Liyue by assassinating these adepti?"
"Possibly and with the Delusions that they have, it's not really impossible to do it."
"Expendable but strong pawns."
"Yes, but for now we hold off any movement let's move after the Rite of Descension." Kaeya nodded only to see Diluc gone.
'He used the window and jumped off...' Kaeya just stared blankly at the window then proceed to look around outside then without any hesitation closed the window and he froze it shut to prevent anyone from getting in.
After eating their breakfast Jaune and Pyrrha stayed with Nora to keep her company.
Nora learned that due to what happened to her, team JNPR have been given a time off.
While Nora was abit surprised about it she was mostly disappointed.
"I wont be able to go to the dance!!!" She cried.
Ren who woke up after hearing Nora's voice immediately asked if she was feeling alright.
They gave Ren his breakfast and after resting they went out with the permission from the school nurse.
...
"So Im staying in the Infirmary until the nurse deemed me ok?"
"That's the gist from what Ms. Goodwitch told us." Jaune said.
"Alright team JNPR were having another team meeting, and it regarding to the mission but we can do that either in the infirmary or our dorm room." Jaune looked at Nora who seemed calmer now than last time.
Just as they were about to move forward they saw professor Port walking rowards them.
"Jaune my boy! Thank goodness I found you first and foremost is the mission, I have decided to cancel my request it would seemed that I've judge you to early but also forgive me for what has happened to your teammate, I know me asking you to hunt the grimm was the trigger so please accept my forgiveness." Port bowed his head towards Nora who the latter just scratched her cheek.
"Though in exchange for that I bear good news! First years are include in choosing mission but only the mission deemed easy are the only ones selectable and also that instead of one team taking a mission they can go and have a collaboration with another team of course two professional huntmen will also be sent, there is also something called apprenticeship where Upper years will be able to collaborate with first year teams now, so if you have anyone in the upper year you want to join on a mission you can just go and ask them but its up to them of thet accept." Port talked with an excitement that is close to the coffee loving doctor.
"Thank you professor Port but for now we kind of want to focus on Nora's recovery." Port nodded at this.
"That's great to hear and apologies for taking your time I was just trying to inform you of the development, anyways enjoy your free time and farewell!" Port gave them a wave as he ran on the hallways.
"He's really excited huh?" Pyrrha said.
"It's probably because he was also bored of teaching." Jaune said as he smiled at the professor.
"And that he also want to show off to the students." Ren added.
Nora just chuckled at what they said.
"Now what should we do now?" Nora asked.
"I was planning of telling professor Port that we decline but he beat us to it and that is also the reason for our team meeting." Jaune said as he placed his palm on his mouth and started thinking.
"Should we train?" He looked towards his team. Ren and Pyrrha nodded then looked at Nora.
"The nurse gave me permission to train." Nora made an ok sign.
"How about Grimm hunting in the emerald forest?" Pyrrha suggested as she look at Ren and Jaune.
"Sounds good, we can practice our coordinations and stuff." Jaune added as Ren voiced his agreement.
After this team JNPR went out towards the Emerald Forest.
"Blake?" Yang looked at her partner who was reading her book but behind the book is her scroll.
"You're searching for Torchwick arent you?" Blake's bow moved as she nodded.
Yang sighed as she face palmed.
"Come on just rest, especially later in the evening."
"But Torchwick is out there! Leading the White Fang!" Yang covered her ears.
"Sheesh you dont need to scream at me I know he's out there but Headmaster Ozpin already gave us the warning, its either we stay here and let real professional Huntsmen do this job or get Expelled." Blake winced as she remember their talk with the Headmaster especially after their incident on the bridge which they managed to hide to the public.
"Even Sun and Neptune were given a warning." Blake just bowed her head as she walked outside the library there they saw Team JNPR in their combat outfits.
"They're training at a time like this? Not even one student wants to go the Emerald Forest right now due to the Vytal Dance." Blake muttered as she saw them.
"Looks like they are trying to check on Nora now." Blake looked at Yang.
"Jaune said that Nora had a panic attack last night and that they might check if she can still fight Grimm, i guess today is that day." Yang answered her unvoiced question.
"I think we should watch over them." Blake said as she ran towards the lockers to get her weapon.
"Hey wait!" Yang followed suit.
...
"Blake! Come on! Stop for a moment." Kept running after Blake as she ran towards the Bullhead docking station.
"Team JNPR might be endanger if Nora has a panic attack, so its best for us to help them." Blake said.
"And this is also my way of showing gratitude especially for Jaune and Nora with their help during the fight in the docks."
Yang gave it a bit of a thought but still agreed.
"We could've taken Ruby and Weiss with us though?"
"No time." Blake slowed down as they saw the Bullhead that is heading for Emerald forest.
Hovering their scroll towards the scanner the glass safety gate opened a way that leads towards the entrance of the Bullhead.
"Move fast were leaving in 10 minutes." One of the staff said which made Yang and Blake move faster.
As they walked in Pyrrha immediately saw them.
"Yang and Blake? What are you guys doing here?" Blake moved closer to Pyrrha.
"We're here to help, I remember you guys mentioned about testing if Nora can fight grimm so that why we're here since more people means its safer." Pyrhha smiled as she gave her thanks then she led them towards the team.
"Guys! Yang and Blake also wanted to train with us."
"Yang? Wait arent supposed to work on the dance that about to happen tonight?"
"Weiss is currently taking care of the finishing touches since ive already done my part, and might as well release some stress while I have time since I will be manning the entrance later, which sucks." Yang said as she stretched her arm and her back.
Jaune looked at Blake.
"Im here to help incase anything happens and this my way of showing my gratitude for the help you gave in the docks." Jaune was taken aback but smiled.
"Happy to help but don't worry about it too much, its fine but since you're already here might as well take the opportunity." Blake bowed her head towards Team JNPR.
"Still thank you." They then heard a announcement that the Bullhead is about to take off.
Running into Grimm in a Grimm infested Forest is very common but for some odd reason so many Grimms are appearing than normal.
Jaune in particular was puzzled as he severed a Beuwolf in half with his Airblade.
"Am I the only one who noticed the increasing amount of Grimm we encounter as we go deeper?" Jaune turned back asked his friends.
"No you're not the only one its as if something is making them go deeper into the forest." Blake said as she sheathed her weapon.
"Should we report this?" Yang asked.
"Let's contact Ms. Goodwitch." Jaune said as he took out his scroll. Unknown to him a claw was sailing towards him.
Ren immediately intercepted the claw with his Stormflower with made the monster recoil back.
"What the hell is that?!" Yang yelled as Ren ready his weapons. Jaune immediately took a picture of the said monster.
A wolf like being that has a white grimm skull on its head. Body is black and rocky as if it's made out of stone. Dark purple ooze started flowing from its wounded claw.
Nora who saw the appearance immediately trembled.
Even Ren and Jaune hitched their breaths as they saw the monster, it's Grimm but the appearance is strikingly almost like-
"STAND GUARD DON'T LET YOUR GUARD DOWN." Jaune's booming voice immediately echoed orders which made even Yang and Blake tensed. They saw the winds around started as it started to get sharper as it flows around them.
"We're surrounded." Jaune said as they heard growls. All kinds of Grimm and even the new Grimm is looking at them.
Then then heard Nora yelped as she started having another panic attack.
"Monster." Nora started to breathe heavily.
Jaune immediately focused on his surrounding.
"Take care of Nora for us will you?" Jaune asked in a soft voice but his face showing a dark expression.
"I've sent an emergency signal towards all the professors." Pyrrha immediately cut in as she held her weapon to cover Nora.
The Wolf-like grimm's body started to form into a mist as it suddenly made a pouncing stance
Ren tensed as he sparked with purple pulse of Electro element.
"Did we get a reply?" He asked.
"Bullhead is coming in 10 minutes." Yang read from Pyrrha's scroll as Blake tries to calm Nora down.
The Grimm didn't waste anytime and immediately rushed towards them.
The wolf like monster also made its way but Ren took its attention. With his speed that almost matches Ruby, he took on the monster head on.
Jaune focused his wind on his sword as if he has a tornado on its blade and then he released it on an area. The sharp winds cut through the horde of Grimm but more arrive due to the negativity that Nora is emitting.
"Can Ren even kill that thing?" Yang asked as she punched a Beuwolf's head of with her shotgun blast.
"I have no idea but I think he can buy time for us to help him-" Pyrrha's sentence was cut off as Ren flew towards her.
The monster was riddled with wounds and started growling at them then its mouth glowed into a yellow light as electricity started to build up from its closed jaws.
Yang who was helping Pyrrha by kill the grimm around them didn't noticed this, even Blake didn't noticed this due to her protecting Nora from the Grimms that tried to hound them. Nora saw what its was about to do and pushed Blake down the ground.
The monster released a concentrated blast of electricity towards their group but Jaune intercepted it with a Teal colored dome barrier that surrounded him and his friends.
"Jaune!" Nora saw Jaune block the attack she also saw the barrier that surrounds them.
'The barrier is keeping away the Grimm.' Nora thought as she saw the Grimms getting blown back by the Wind barrier.
"It's drain me I'll trying to maintain this for as long as I can." Jaune gritted his teeth as the other Grimm started to rush the wind barrier.
"It's slowly breaking down." Jaune said as the dome started to dim.
Nora looked towards the injured Ren as Pyrrha and Yang tries to wake him up. Blake who is trembling as she looked at Jaune who bear the brunt of the attack.
She then felt a warm feeling on her chest.
A small white branch started to glow green as she felt her body becoming light, the fear within her started to subside as she saw a woman infront of her white long hair and warm green eyes, she smiled at Nora as she handed her a light.
Nora reached for the light in her hand a blinding light spread from her closed hand as Blake and the others covered their eyes from the light.
There they saw 'Nora' who now has a white hair and green eyes around her greenery started to grow as flowers of every color bloomed.
"Monster of the Abyss." A voice different from Nora's boomed to their ears.
"Begone." 'Nora' said as she waved her palm towards the monster.
Vines started to bloom from the ground as it wrapped around the monster and the Grimms that are surrounding them
The monster roared in fear as it tried to break free much like the Grimms but even more vines started to wrapped around them.
Then 'Nora' closed her palm as thorns started to grow from the vines, it was so quick that the thorns appeared almost instantly piercing the monster and the Grimms as the monster roared in agony. It's piercing screech made the others cover their ears, Jaune who is still keeping the wind barrier up used his wind to cover his ears.
Then the monster and the Grimms slowly turned to dust infront of their very eyes.
'Nora' closed her eyes as she slowly fell on the dirt floor. Blake immediately went and caught her.
"What the hell was that?" Yang asked as she looked at Pyrrha.
"I don't know." Pyrhha moved and killed a Grimm that went close to them, Yang followed suit after hearing Pyrrha's answer.
"Guys! Nora is heating up and her aura is so low, she needs help immediately!" Blake said as she slowly carried Nora on her arms. They then heard a sound of machinery as they saw a bullhead slowly descending onto the open space near them.
Coming out of it was Bartholomew Oobleck who was running towards them at high speed.
"What is the situation?" He asked as he immediately checked on Nora's condition.
"Grimms are swarming around here like its a hotspot, we've also encountered a new type of Grimm." Jaune showed Oobleck his scroll that has the picture of the Monster.
"My Gods." Oobleck focused his eyes on the scroll.
"What can it do?" He said as he also took a look at Ren who is low on Aura. But after checking he just asked Ren to rest.
"Its very intelligent, it is also good at ambushes... I experienced it first hand, not only that but it can spit out electricity." Oobleck nodded gone was his hyperactive personality as seriousness of a True Huntsman filled in.
Oobleck looked at the picture and saw bits and pieces of Lightning dust on its body.
"A Grimm that uses dust and can ambush people. This is going to be a problem." He uttered.
"Team JNPR and also Miss Xiao Long and Miss Belladonna thank you for your report." He paused.
"And thank you for surviving, for now just take a rest as we take care of the clean up." They gave the professor a surprise look as it was very out of character from him then. they saw him order the medics to get Nora. Soldier of Atlas also arrived as they went forth and cleared the Grimm off the area.
Jaune felt his body flop as he laid on the grass.
"Ren are you alright?"
"Im fine, it was a good thing i now have a large Aura reserve, that Grimm hit like a truck." Ren looked at his broken weapons.
"Stormflower took the brunt of the attacks but I don't think this will be fixed in a short time." He showed then the cracked pistols.
"If Ruby sees that she's going to have a heart attack." Yang said as she chuckled.
Blake just looked at Nora who is being carried into the Bullhead.
"About Nora, what was that? She suddenly changed as her hair turned white?" Ren sighed and shook his head.
"Ren?"
"It's...nothing, we also don't know what happened to her but when she wakes up again we'll try asking her." Ren said as he sat on the ground. Jaune went closer to Blake and Yang
"Thanks you two for the help." Jaune stretched his hand.
Blake shook his hand as Yang slaps his back.
"Don't be like that Sleepyhead, were friends anyway and friends always helps each other right?"
"Why do you sound like a main character from an anime." Jaune said.
Yang just glared at Jaune.
"Sorry..." As they continued talking then saw Oobleck and Port walking towards them.
"It's good to see that you are safe and sound." Port said as he sighed in relief.
He then gave everyone of them hugs.
"Woah, You alright teach?" Yang asked as then saw Port's shoulder relaxed.
" I was just worried that's all." Port coughed on his hand as he straightened his body.
"Jaune Arc, Nora Valkyrie, Pyrhha Nikos, Lie Ren, Blake Belladonna, Yang Xiao Long the headmaster would like to give you his thanks for surviving and bringing in a new information about the new type of Grimm and he has also called you all to reward you on your discovery, we hope that you will be successful on future endeavors."
"Now come follow me, you will be resting for now your rewards will be given tomorrow."
"Ah and also the dance has been moved in the next two days because of this incident."
"Thank you Professor." Port just chuckled as he gestured them to board the bullhead.
"Just rest for now tomorrow will be your big day."
A knock was heard on the door as a man that is a faunus with a lion characteristics stood from his chair.
"Come in." He said as he saw People with Atlas Uniform.
"Headmaster Lionheart, Headmaster Ozpin has called of you, we will be escorting you to Beacons Academy."
"I see. I'll follow your lead then." Lionheart said as he sighed.
'I hope I can still fix things.' Lionheart thought as he followed the Atlas soldiers.
Unknown to him. That a Grimm that has small, black spherical bodies resembling a smoky crystal ball that is covered with bone-like plates and spikes is floating on the darkest corner of the room, the Grimm then suddenly died and turned into dust.
