Batman and White Shadow attacked the second restricted area where Evan's people secured the second chemical source. There were twice more people then at the first leak. It was almost five in the morning when Batman and White Shadow broke through to the actual mechanisms and Batman could stop the toxic leak. White Shadow was guarding his work piling up people together. She handcuffed all of the guards by the time police arrived, all they had to do was just take those guys away. When the perimeter of the second pipe was secured James Gordon asked Batman to take a break.
-You need some rest Batman. You fought all these people by yourself. Your suit has damage here and there. Please, go it's almost seven in the morning even if it doesn't look like it because of the fog. You did a great job.
Batman looked around and saw many police officers taking down handcuffed men but there was no presence of White Shadow.
"They didn't see her or she wants not to be seen" - Batman though.
It was time to call back a Bat aero craft and head to his penthouse. Bruce didn't want to go back to his home estate moreover Alfred already informed him that Justice escaped with the suit and there was no need for Bruce Wayne to go to his mansion.
-Can I get a ride? - he heard her voice in an alley behind him when Batman approached his aero craft.
-I'm going on the road. This Bat flys only at night. - said Batman going inside the machine.
After a couple of minutes some part of an aero craft got separated and moved. It was a Bat motorcycle all chrome black with big seat and slick design.
-Get on. You know you can't go back to your place in the Zone. I explain it later. Now we are going to my lab.
White Shadow nodded and set behind Batman.
Early morning was cold but not fresh at all. Green dark fog surrounded everything, heroes couldn't see further then eight-ten feet ahead even with a bright light from Batman's motorcycle. Few cars were already on the road but all businesses were closed.
"They operate the city only with resources Evan has - orphans. Regular citizens are all ill or too sleepy unless they have special masks to clean the air. What is the outcome? Just kill the biggest city in this country and what is the goal here?" - White Shadow was thinking about Evan and their last meeting. He didn't look good at all.
-That smell… - she said out loud totally forgetting that she wasn't alone.
Batman heard her but didn't ask what she meant because he smelled it too for the last couple of weeks.
"Smell.. I feel it too. The city soaked in this rotten smell of dead… dead strawberries. Two more leaks and hopefully the air going to be cleaner unless Evan does something I am not prepared for."
