Mrs. bennet had a dowry of four thousand pounds even though she was a solicitor's daughter. Accordingly, Bennet could have saved a comfortable amount being a gentleman of more income than his father-in-law. What would have happened if Mr. Gardiner had taught his daughter to save?

This is a very dark and controversial story, one of the characters is an unscrupulous man and a rapist and his sister is his accomplice. Some minor characters die. All the Bennet sisters have an HEA. Just a little drabble. This scene for a story occurred to me early this morning and needed to be written before I could do anything else. D&E meet earlier. E lives with the Gardiners in London. The two are engaged to be married when E receives a summons to return home to Longbourn. Commenters asked for more, so here it is. Complete for now.
