Great Lost but Never Losing Hope
Jaune is looking over the communicator still trying to reach the Nirvana about the battle against the Harvest Enemies, but still no luck and he hopes that the message he send will reach them soon before the battle.
"(Something tells me they'll be late to the battle.)" Jaune thought sighed.
"Hey Jaune, have you seen the electric wrench anywhere, I can't seem to find it." Hibiki called out looking around.
"Did you check the back of your shirt?" Jaune advised, knowing the few places where Hibiki would lose some stuff.
"Oh please, like I would lose the wrench in the back of my shirt?" Hibiki refused to believe that.
But then Hibiki started feeling something off with his back as he moves around a bit getting the odd feeling that something metal and small is between the shirt and his flesh, he loosen the bottom of his shirt and an object fell down revealing the wrench.
"Oh, so it was in my shirt." Hibiki surprised.
"How did that even happen?" Hibiki wondered scratching his head a little.
"Maybe because you haven't been paying attention to what you were doing like always." Jaune rolled his eyes.
"Hey, at least I know how to work with machines unlike you have confused two different wrenches." Hibiki stated.
"You're really not going to let that one go, are you? They just look the same to me." Jaune pointed out.
"Look the same? This is why you failed that mechanic class, you're too slow and stupid to tell the clear difference." Hibiki mocked.
"At least I'm not the guy who does all the big talk and ends up getting laughed at." Jaune mocked back.
"Except now we are the big talk or are you just not happy with that?" Hibiki asked.
"Of course, I am happy! I wouldn't change it for the world!" Jaune said starting the yell.
"That's good because I don't want to be the guy dying in battle if I don't at least have the support of friendship of my best friend along the way." Hibiki yelled back.
"That's a very nice thing of you to say, but did you really have to yell like that?" Jaune asked.
"I don't know, I just feel like yelling!" Hibiki screamed.
"Should we do something about this? It looks like their friendship could fall apart at any moment." Neon worried as she and her group are watching how Hibiki and Jaune do together.
"I wouldn't worry about that, it just normal for friends to talk to each other along with some fighting here and there." Marrow believed.
"Well, I'm more bored with all this waiting around. How do we even know if those two will even take the battle seriously?" Harriet asked.
"I'm pretty sure they are, you saw how they reacted when we mentioned about the enemies wanting our skin." Marrow recalled the serious expression those boys did when giving them that info and made his tail stand on edge.
"Yeah, that also another proof that we'll help us." Neon nodded.
"Excuse me, I hope I was interrupting anything." Jaune walked up to them with a friendly smile.
"You want something from us?" Harriet asked.
"Yeah, I was hoping you could share me some of your battle tactics and what are you own fighting styles out in space. Maybe we can work on a strategy together to help fight off the enemies and hope the stop them from taking any lives." Jaune explained.
"Really? Even though we just met?" Harriet surprised raising an eyebrow.
"I like to take my chances when it comes to new people and two of my dads always said that strangers are just friends you haven't met yet." Jaune mentioned.
Harriet can see this guy is a bit on the naïve side that he is too trusting for his own good though can't exactly blame him for even trusting her in the first place.
But before another word can be spoken, the alarm suddenly went off loud alerting the pilots in the hanger.
"I don't like the sound of that." Jaune gulped.
"Because that means the enemies are here. We need to board our fighter ships now." Harriet hurried over to her ship.
"Hold on, we need to know what kind of enemies we're fighting." Jaune called out.
"Jaune, I got a visual." Hibiki said.
Jaune along with Marrow and Neon hurry over to Hibiki showing what the two boys were not expecting to see, it appears to be a giant ship in an odd shape though it brings an aura of fear that is making Jaune and Neon shake a little while Marrow glares at the giant ship.
"What the hell is that?" Hibiki shocked.
"We've never seen an enemy that big before." Jaune said.
"It's an enemy's flagship, it's very powerful." Senran gasped upon seeing the screen when she was still doing some work on Hibiki mech.
"Seriously? You guys have been that giant thing all this time and still manage to live?!" Jaune shocked.
"Damn, I wouldn't be surprise if that ship already took out a large number of you in the past fights." Hibiki stated.
"Yeah, took the lives of our fellow brothers and sisters in arms, but I'm so scared that I want the fighting to end." Marrow clutched his fists in anger.
"Then that's good." Jaune said confusing the young dog man.
"I'm not much of a fighter myself, I just want to live a peaceful life but things don't always go that way." Jaune smiled as he stood up and patted his face once.
"Even so, there are still things we need to overcome and standing around here talking isn't going to change anything. If there's even a small chance for us to make it out of this alive, I'm willing to take that risk." Jaune determined with a smirk.
"Oh yeah, now that's how you do the talk. Now we just need to do the walk." Hibiki excited with a smirk.
Marrow, Senran, and Neon look at each other for a moment as they are shocked of seeing those two new boys they just met are still going out there to fight despite being scared, this suddenly gave them the inspiration and courage to go out there to fight too.
"Okay, let's go!" Marrow nodded.
"Yeah, if we didn't fight then we would've been harvested by now. There's no way we're going to give up on life to the very end." Senran agreed.
"I'm gonna do my best, there's no way I'm going to let those bullies pick on us anymore!" Neon determined.
"Nice." Hibiki impressed with this girl being brave now.
"Jaune, you go out ahead of me since my partner still needs some repairs but it shouldn't be too long. You two go help him too." Hibiki planned.
"You got it, just try to stay alive." Jaune nodded as he ran over to his Arc Knight.
"You too!" Hibiki called out.
Jaune jumps into his mech getting the systems online and started moving with forward with some running just to be extra sure.
Outside of the main fleet ship the men and women fighters are doing their very best against the harvest machines, and one yellow and light brown ship is zooming through the space battlefield with blasting away several of the robots.
And the very yellow-brown also went faster with the front part that looks like a spear rammed through some more robots destroying them.
"Oh yeah, who's the fucking best!" Harriet amazed revealing herself to the pilot of the ship.
"Focus, Harriet! Some are coming closer to the fleet ship." Jaune said calling over Harriet surprising her a bit.
"Whoa, how did you got the connection for my ship?" Harriet asked shock.
"Marrow, but that's not important right now." Jaune said while fighting off some robots with slicing them in halves and such.
Jaune turn his mech around to see three robot harvest heading for the ship, he threw the giant shield to bounce off the three robots distracting them enough for him to come in and slice them into pieces.
"There are enemies trying to get to the ship, try helping me out here." Jaune asked.
Jaune goes in slicing a few more robots to keep them away from the main fleet ship, but there are only so much that Jaune can story while there are still so many coming and a few have bombed the side of the shop causing smaller robots to go in and kill some humans.
"Fucking damn it!" Jaune cursed.
"Hang on, Jaune! We're on our way!" Marrow said as he and Neon flew in with their ships.
Marrow started firing some blasters that are shaped like boomerangs with each one destroying four enemy robots, Neon unleashes her own laser blasts that are like sonic sound blasts destroying several of them with her killer beat.
(With Hibiki and Senran)
"Hibiki, some robots managed to get on board the ship. You need to get out there now." Jaune warned.
"Fuck, just what I need." Hibiki cursed while finishing up on his own.
"Alright, I'm all done here. I'm heading out!" Hibiki said.
"Hold on, I'm almost done over here too. Don't you worry, I'll fix your partner up good as new." Senran promised as she hurried on that final repair.
Hibiki is amazes of this woman doing something brave even when there is danger in all corners around them and even willing to help him out, he thinks this girl could be a great addition to the Nirvana crew once this battle is over.
"Hibiki, could use a hand here!" Jaune screamed. That sounded like big trouble.
"Hang on, I'm on my way!" Hibiki said.
"There, you're all set. Thanks for waiting." Senran informed that she is finished on her end.
"Good luck out there." Senran gave hum a thumb up.
However, the moment was instantly ruined by a sudden explosion in the hanger though Hibiki appears to be fine.
But the same couldn't be said about Senran when he finds her on the floor and looking very bad with some burn marks on her suit and she doesn't appear to be moving.
"Senran!" Hibiki gasped as he jumps down to her side.
"Senran! Come on, wake up! Say something! Senran!" Hibiki shouted as he shook her body until she finally woke up.
"Hey, Hibiki…" Senran smiled weakly at the boy.
"Tell me, is everyone… else here… alright?" Senran asked still smiling, but that was her final breath before she closes her eyes forever, dying with Hibiki by her side.
"Hey, come on, you're okay, right? This can't be happening!" Hibiki begged for Senran to wake up, hoping for any sign that she is alright.
"Wake up, Senran. Please!" He tried again to wake her up, but still nothing.
The hard reality that is happening to him right now is hit him harder than a meteorite that the new friend Senran is now dead, she is not coming back and she will never get to live for another day as the lost of a life sinks a little deeper into Hibiki's mind of this process.
(Back out in Space)
"Oh fuck!" Jaune cursed as he destroyed another robot.
"Big problem, guys. The our fleet ship around last much longer with the shield going down." Marrow informed while dodging some laser blasts from the enemies.
"I'm scared, this beat is too much for me!" Neon cried.
"Keep it together, we're going to make it through this and we're going to live!" Harriet refused to give up as she destroys three more enemies.
"(Damn it, this much force we'll be overwhelmed before long. We need to retreat and hopefully meet up with the Nirvana.)" Jaune thought planned on retreating soon.
Jaune turns around to see Hibiki in his mech flying out of the ship.
"Hibiki! Things aren't looking good for us, that flagship is sending out more enemies the more we destroy them and I fear this maybe a losing battle if we don't retreat." Jaune informed his best friend of the situation.
"Why…?" Hibiki asked confusing the Arc boy.
"Do people really die… as easily as she did!" Hibiki screamed in rage as he charges into the fray destroying some enemy robots.
"Hibiki, wait! What happened back there!" Jaune asked trying to calm him down, but he knew that Hibiki wouldn't down his anger so easily.
"I'LL KILL YOU ALL!" Hibiki screamed after slicing through two more.
"YOU'RE GOING TO PAY FOR KILLING SENRAN!" Hibiki screamed.
"Wait, did he say… Senran is dead!" Neon gasped as Marrow and Harriet are shocked of the sudden news.
This news hurt especially to Harriet who was one of the closest friends to Senran over the years with a bond of sisters just for them, but now hearing that her sworn sister is dead causes Harriet to go quiet for literally three seconds and then scream.
"YOU FUCKING BASTARDS?!" Harriet screamed with tears coming out.
"No, wait! Stop you two, we need to retreat!" Jaune called out, but none of them are listening.
"Fleet captain, we need to fallback from this battle. This is way bigger than we thought, but I promise we'll come up with a plan to destroy that flagship and average your people." Jaune called the captain over the comm.
Back in the fleet ship, the captain didn't want to turn away from the robotic enemies but he also knew that Jaune is right and their forces are losing a heavy amount on their side.
"Alright, all ships! Your orders are to retreat and hope that we can live to fight another day!" The fleet captain ordered.
As soon as the fleet captain gave the orders, the ships started to turn around for the retreat order.
However, the enemy flagship didn't not give them a chance to make a full turn as it fires a giant laser blast that almost hit Hibiki and Harriet if Jaune hadn't tackle them out of the way, but the giant laser still kill the fleet ship and a few ships too.
"NO!" Neon screamed in fear.
"Come on, they weren't even fighting back anymore!" Marrow gritted his teeth.
"Damn it! We have to get out of here now!" Jaune said.
"Are you stupid? We need to make them pay, make them" But Hibik's angry talk was cut off when Jaune punched his mech's face surprising the boy.
"You don't think I'm not angry about this too! All the people dying right before my eyes are pissing me off too, but I know if we don't in there gun blazing right now them everything we have done up to this point would've been for nothing!" Jaune shouted in rage surprising Hibiki since this is the first time to have seen him angry like this.
"Now, how about you pull yourself together and let's retreat!" Jaune yelled.
Hibiki just stare at him shock and turns around flying away from the enemy flagship along with Harriet who was also shocked of the sudden scream, Marrow and Neon quickly following them as the flagship didn't seem to follow them for whatever reason.
But the flagship turned to the side unleashing a large number of robots trying to chase them down upon orders, the robots were getting closer and closer to get them until suddenly they were destroyed by sudden laser blasts.
"What the… Who the fuck is that?" Jaune shocked.
"Hey now, is that any way to thank the dudes and the monkey for saving your life?" A familiar voice said communicating to them.
"What the…? Isn't that one of the two old men?" Hibiki shocked.
"Oh look at that, they do remember us. How nice." Rabat chuckled.
Everyone look up to see the ship of Qrow and Rabat hovering over them.
"The fuck do you want? We already got enough problems to deal with in case you couldn't tell!" Hibiki shouted.
"Aw, and here we came all this way to bring you a big present." Rabat played being hurt with a grin.
"Mr. Alien, is that you!" Dita called out.
"Wait, is that Dita just now!" Hibiki shocked.
Then appearing right above the ship is a bigger ship they all know too well, the Nirvana has arrived and they are here to help the boys.

Jaune and Hibiki were forced to retreat along with their new friends in order to survive against the enemy flagship, now we can only hope with the arrival of the Nirvana will turn this battle around and come up with a plan to destroy that giant thing.
