Welcome all to my newest and brand new fanfic, Yugioh: Legend of the Hearts! In this story, we see if 3 duelists that don't know each other can help save a beautiful island nation from being taken over by a dark and ominous shadow . This will be combined Yugioh and Super Paper Mario story. Here are our rules. I will be using all of the current OCG/TCG rules of the game the only difference i'm doing is the Pendulum Zones will have their own slots and not take up two Spell or Trap Zones. I'm using both the current OCG/TCG banlists (OCG Current: January 2024) - (TCG Current: January 2024) and combine them to make one list for the story (I will use banned cards if I have to and will update the story to use the newest ban list changes when I have to, but these will be the main lists I'll be using. Link and Pendulum monsters will be seen and I'm going to try to use decks I've never used before to make this a very fun story. At some times, I will also use cards made by myself, other writers and cards that are only in the manga and anime (Except for the new cards seen in the Sevens and GO! Rush Animes as they are exclusive to OCG). Also, I'll be using American names, but if the Japanese names are better (Destiny Hero and Sin monsters for example), I'll use the Japanese ones. Also, when I use a "Hero" monster, It'll stay as Hero instead of the TCG way of HERO and also, for cards that are created by me and others, I'll put in GY instead of graveyard. For this chapter and future chapters, one real TCG/OCG card will have a small change in its name to make it easier to write out. With all of this said and done, let's get this story started! Like all of my stories, this story will be dedicated to my wonderful and loving mother who sadly passed away on September 1st, 2021 and is now in the heavens and my also my wonderful uncle who passed on February 28th, 2023 and my aunt who passed on in November of 2023. A large dark castle on a large island / 10:00pm
Inside of a dark room on a far away island, a lone figure was watching a crystal book in front of from him while sitting in a black chair. Next to the figure was a pedestal that held a large black book of some sort. Nearby, a tall shadowy man with a monocle, a black cane, hat and cape was there and looking at a huge dark book and nearby was a large black crystal ball nearby.
He kept looking at his book and he resumed, ""Let's see if we can find these duelists."
"Sir, I'm here for you now.", a young feminine voice said from behind.
He turned around and a young lady with pink hair and wearing thick glasses that covered her blue eyes on her pretty face walked in and he replied, "Hello, Nastasia."
She smiled and replied, "Evening, Count Bleck. What you looking for?"
"These 3 duelists that guy from Flipside wanted to invite here for a dueling convention this summer. Where could it be?"
Suddenly, a obese and chubby man with a Scottish face walked in and he began to speak, "Man, what eh' day for me. What up with you, Count?"
Bleck turned to him and replied, "Finding the descendants of those 3 legendary heroes that came to the island and sealed away that ancient foe, O'Chunks."
Suddenly, his crystal ball began to glow and he replied, "Time to see what we have here."

Grand Ole Opry / Nashville, Tennessee
Usually with only country music concerts were held there, the Grand Ole Opry was hosting the Nashville Masters Duel Monsters Tournament for the first time and it was at the final round. The duelist on the left (A 18-year old girl named Shelly) had a Sunlight Unicorn equipped with a Mage Power (ATK: 1,800 - 2,800) thanks to the Equip Spell and the about to be mentioned Banner of Courage). Her opponent was intresting to say at least. She had blonde hair with pink streaks through it and she wore a black shirt with a scene of a dolphin jumping out of water and also wore a black and purple skirt as well and her legs had tattoos of red skulls, stars and red roses on both of them and covering her right arm were various star, fire and flower tattoos and she had the words GLORY BLAZE tattooed across her knuckles as well. She had a facedown monster as well as 1 facedown card and had had 2 cards and her opponent had 3 cards in her hand and at that moment, Shelly had a big lead.

Shelly laughed and resumed, "Time to keep my lead up on you! Sunlight Unicorn attacks again!"
The steed continued to charge in and she smiled and resumed, "I chain your attack with my Malevolent Catastrophe."
The trap appeared and the Mage Power and Banner Cards were blown to little bits (ATK: 2,800 - 1,800) and the steed charged in and a UFO Turtle appeared on the card (DEF: 1,200) and the Unicorn struck it with its horn and it exploded into hot metal and a 2nd UFO Turtle appeared (ATK: 1,400).
"You are a clever duelist to face. I end my turn now."
Amber drew a new card and resumed, "I try to be as different as I can. I now tribute my UFO Turtle for my Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch."
The turtle burst into fiery embers and the mighty monarch of flames appeared (ATK: 2,400) and she pointed to the middle card and her opponent only sighed and she flipped it around and it was a Egotistical Ape and she discarded the card (Shelly LP: 3700 - 3200).
"I attack your Unicorn."
It glowed dark red and a burst of hot flames shot out and slammed down into her Beast and burned it to fiery cinders (Shelly LP: 3200 - 2600).
"Your move now."
She drew a card and then resumed, "I activate Monster Reborn to bring back my Elephun."
She played the card and a cute small elephant-like creature appeared (ATK: 500).
"I now summon my Des Koala."
She played the card and a large koala appeared (ATK: 1,100).
"I tune my monsters together to Synchro Summon my Thunder Unicorn!"
She played the card and the beautiful unicorn appeared (ATK: 2,200).
"I drain your Monarch of most of its power!"
He moaned in pain (ATK: 2,400 - 400).
"Destroy it!"
It quickly charged in and stabbed its horn into the mighty Pyro and it let out a deep moan before it erupted in a fiery explosion of ash & soot (Amber LP: 3200 - 1400).
"Your move now."
Amber drew a new card and then resumed, "I'll banish a fire monster to Special Summon my Inferno."
She took a UFO Turtle and banished it and a fiery bonfire with blue eyes appeared (DEF: 1,900).
"I'll set a monster and that's all for me."
She drew a card and then resumed, "I now summon my Desmanian Devil."
She played the card and a black-furred Beast appeared (ATK: 1,700).
"Devil attacks first."
It went in and a Flamvell Poun appeared on the card (DEF: 200) and she kicked at it and blew it to pieces and both grabbed a card from their decks and then she resumed, "Unicorn attacks now."
It charged in and a stabbed into the Pyro and it glowed before it burst into a fiery cloud of smoke & ash.
"Your move now, lady."
She drew a card and then she smiled and resumed, "Time for something amazing. I summon my Guerilla Kite."
She played the card and a large demon-like kite with spiked balls connected to it appeared (ATK: 1,600).
"Since I control a Fiend Tuner monster, I can Special Summon my Red Lotus King, Flame Crime."
She played the card and a large fiery demon appeared (ATK: 1,700) and she resumed, "You now take 400 damage for each fire monster I control."
it glowed as two large fireballs shot out and struck her down (Shelly LP: 2600 - 1800).
"I tune my monsters together to summon one of my favorite monsters!"
The Kite glowed as it split into 4 white stars, which into green rings and the rings went through her Red Lotus King, which turned into 3 white stars (*4 + *3 = *7).
"A true knight that has attacks that are hot like the blazing heat of the sun battles while leaving a fiery track of power in its path! It'll incinerate anything that it strikes down with its weapon! Synchro Summon! Go out in a blaze of glory, Gaia Blaze, the Force of the Sun!"
She played the card and Gaia the Fierce Knight covered in fiery red armor while riding a fiery red steed appeared (ATK: 2,600).
"Since my Kite hit the graveyard, you take 500 damage!"
Small spheres dropped down and exploded around her (Shelly LP: 1800 - 1300) and she resumed, "I attack your Unicorn."
It quickly charged in and slammed its fiery spear into the Unicorn and her Synchro let out a weak cry of pain before it shattered into small pixelated shards that flew around her (Shelly LP: 1300 - 900) and the she smiled and resumed, "When my monster destroys a monster in battle, it can attack once more as well!"
She turned pale as a ghost as her Pyro charged and swung its lance and it stabbed at her Beast and blew it to pieces and the rest of the attack struck her down (Shelly LP: 900 - 0) and a nearby announcer smiled and resumed, "We have a winner now, folks! Your Tennessee State Champion is the great Fire master Amber Loucasta!"
Everyone cheered as she raised her arms in victory.

the count's crystal ball went dark and he nodded and resumed, "A really well made Fire Deck with some really good cards as well."
My niece has to have the biggest ego of any duelist I've ever seen. I bet she'll be back to our island soon and will whine about losing that duel as well., Nastasia thought to her self and Bleck saw her and resumed, "Anything wrong, Miss Nastasia?"
She looked at her boss and resumed, "I'm okay, sir. That girl may be one of the ones your looking for, Count Black."
"Please!", O'Chunks said with a deep Scottish accent. "My deck would cream that kid's wussy fire deck to a pile of mush in 6 turns."
"Let's only hope you can count that high, fool.", a girl's voice said.
O'Chunks turned around and a young teenaged girl with green hair and freckles on her face appeared in front of her and she wore a white dress and O'Chunks looked at her and replied, "Damn it, Mimi! I told you not to insult me on a daily basis!"
She laughed and then replied, "Didn't gave a crap about what a whiny buffoon like you wants! Don't care at all!"
"You want to make to tug those pigtails and throw your butt in the ocean outside?"
Nastasia looked at them both and replied, "Quiet, both of you. Who ever talks again is doing extra work tonight and all day tomorrow."
They both sighed and she turned to her boss and resumed, "Anyone next, Count Bleck?"
He looked at i very closely and he replied, "Getting another vision."

Mobile Convention Center / Mobile, Alabama
Currently during the Spring in Mobile (it was sunny beautiful day outside at about 73 degrees that day for a high), a popular Duel Monsters tournament was happening at the big convention center in the middle of Mobile against two amazing duelists from the state. On the right was a 5'5 female named Erica Robertson and she wore glasses over her blue eyes and she had blonde hair with pink and black highlights throughout it and In front of her was a 1 facedown monster On her opponent's side of the field was a Blazing Inpachi (ATK: 1,850) and a Great Angus (ATK: 1,800) and his name was Kenny (Kenneth) Smithson and he wore a white shirt and blue jeans. the girl was wearing a white shirt with a large red dragon on it and and she wore a white and red skirt as well as a necklace around her neck that had a small golden dragon on it. Her left arm was covered with a large black dragon tattoo and her right arm had a red dragon tattoo on her other arm and she had the words DRAGON QUEEN tattooed in big black letters across her chest with small red flowers across it as well.

"Next turn, your facedown monster is history, girl. end my turn now."
She drew a card and replied, "I Tribute my facedown Golem Dragon for my Des Volstgalph."
The facedown monster broke apart into particles as the huge rocky desert-like dragon appeared (ATK: 2,200).
"I attack your Great Angus and when it crushes a monster, you take 500 damage as well."
The dragon roared as a huge burst of fiery energy mixed with dust shot out and slammed into the large beast and it whimpered in pain as it shattered to pieces (Kenny LP: 4000 - 3600) and then more of the attack struck him down (Kenny LP: 3600 - 3100).
"Your turn now, buddy."
He nodded and resumed, "Your a fun duelist to face. I'll switch my Vorse Raider to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and a card facedown and that's all for me."
She drew a new card and then resumed, "I summon my Luster Dragon."
She played it and a beautiful jeweled dragon appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"I attack with Des Volstgalph."
The large desert dragon roared as a burst of energy shot and struck down his Inpachi and reduced to small fiery embers & ash and then a burst of energy struck her down (Kenny LP: 3100 - 2600).
"Luster Dragon, your turn."
The dragon roared and let out a small burst of green flames and a Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and the flames covered it and reduced to hot ash and he discarded a Flamvell Guard and she didn't discard anything herself and both drew 5 cards and then she resumed, "I'll set a card and that's all for me."
He drew a card and then resumed, "I'll use the effect of my Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos. I'll discard it and a fire monster to destroy a monster you control!"
She discarded the dragon and a Spirit of Flames and a huge storm of hot flames shot out and incinerated her Des Volstgalph and then he played a card as a Monster Reborn appeared and Blaster appeared as well (ATK: 2,800) and he played the monster and a 2nd Great Angus appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Blaster attacks your dragon and my Great Angus hits you directly!"
The huge fiery dragon let out a huge stream of hot flames and they shot out and struck down her dragon and burnt it to a crisp and the other beast charged in and slammed into her (Erica LP: 4000 - 1300).
"There you go! I end my turn now."
She drew a card and then resumed, "I activate my Monster Reborn on my Des Volstgalph."
The huge desert-like dragon appeared (ATK: 2,200)
"I now activate my facedown Call of the haunted to bring back my Wish Dragon I discarded with your Jar."
She played it and a small horned dragon appeared (ATK: 700) and then I resumed, "I'll use its effect and tribute it for two Dragon tokens."
It vanished and two smaller forms of the dragon appeared (ATK: 0 x2) and she smiled and resumed, "I'll tribute both tokens to summon one of my best Dragon monsters and that will be my Tyrant Dragon."
The two tokens shattered to bits and the huge fiery dragon appeared (ATK: 2,900).
"Time to do this. Tyrant Dragon, attack!"
The mighty dragon roared as a huge burst of flames shot out and slammed into the huge Dragon and it roared before it collapsed into a smoldering pile of hot ash & soot and then more flames burned his Great Angus to ashes monsters (Kenny LP: 3000 - 1800) and he smiled and resumed, "You are a great duelist, girl. Go for the win."
"Thanks for a great duel, buddy. Des Volstgalph, attack directly!"
The dragon roared as a a fiery burst of energy shot out and struck him down (Kenny LP: 1800 - 0) and a nearby announcer smiled and resumed, "Erica Patterson is our winner!"
The crowd cheered as she raised her hands in the air.

The crystal ball went out and he nodded and resumed, "A Dragon deck. It looks like a really amazing and powerful deck. I'll have to keep a eye out for that deck."
Mimi then replied, "Please, even my deck is stronger then hers..I and I don't even have one yet!"
Nastasia then replied," It's your duty to get one ready, could need you at anytime to duel."
The green haired girl sighed and replied, "Yes, madam."
She walked out of the chamber and suddenly, Bleck's crystal began to glow again and he replied, "One more to go."
He continued to look into it.

Panama City Beach Beachside Arena
At the final round of the Florida State Championship, a girl and a boy were dueling for the final match. The guy name (A muscular guy named Anton Rechanov who was born and raised in Moscow, Russia before moving to the US 5 years ago) was a tall duelist and he wore a blue shirt and black jeans and he had a Vorse Raider (ATK: 1,900) and a Dark Blade (ATK: 1,800), 1 facedown card and 2 cards in his hand. The girl (Her name was Amanda but liked to be called Manda for short) was a blue-shirted woman that wore a shirt that a large image of a Lion and Tiger facing each other and blue shorts with a belt in it as well as well as well as glasses for her outfit. Her left arm was covered in a complete sleeve of flower and star tattoos and her chest had a tattoo of a large pink heart surrounded by flames. She had a facedown monster and a faceup Gagaga Gardna (DEF: 2,000) and he had 2 cards in his hand and so did she as well.

Anton resumed, "Time for me to battle some more. Vorse Raider will attack facedown monster."
It rushed in and a Witch of the Black Forest appeared (DEF: 1,200) and it cut deep into the witch and blew her to little bits and she grabbed a new card from her deck.
""Your a decent duelist with some cool tattoos, lady. I end turn now."
She smiled and drew a card and then resumed, "I love the ink I have and my deck means a lot to me as well. I summon my Anarchist Monk Ranshin."
She played the card and a aged old monk appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"I Ovelay my 2 Level 4 monsters to Xyz Summon my Kachi Kochi Dragon."
She played the card and a large Dragon with no wings appeared and it looked like it was sculpted out of beautiful white stones (ATK: 2,100) and she opened her field slot and resumed, "I now activate my Sorcerous Spell Wall!"
She played the card and a burst of energy covered her side of the field and a nearby announcer resumed, "She's used this card in each of her duels so far and it's been a great help."
"My friend now gains 300 attack and It can attack twice now by removing one of its Materials."
The dragon roared (ATK: 2,100 - 2,400) and It glowed as a burst of electric energy shot out and slammed into his Vorse Raider and blasted it to shards and then she discarded Gardna's card and a 2nd burst of energy shot out and smashed his Dark Blade to pieces as well (Anton LP: 3100 - 2000).
"I end my turn now, sir."
He nodded and resumed, "I'll set a monster card facedown and a I'll activate Silent Doom to bring forth another monster."
It glowed and her Dark Blade reappeared (DEF: 1,500).
"That's all for me, miss."
She drew a card and then resumed, "I activate my Overlay Network."
The spell appeared.
"This is one of my favorite cards I own. I'll use one of its effects and get back my Dragon's material."
She quickly grabbed the card and played as the monk reappeared (ATK: 1,800)
"Ranshin attacks and then my Dragon does."
He aimed his staff as a magical bolt of energy shot out and blew his Dark Blade to pieces and then the Dragon roared as a burst of energy shot out and a Morphing Jar appeared (DEF: 600) before the attack smashed it and both had nothing to discard and both drew 5 cards and then she resumed, "I'll set a card and that's all form me."
He drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Double Twisters first."
He discarded a Soul Tiger and two wind storms smashed her Field Spell and Overlay Network Cards to bits.
He drew a card and then resumed, "I activate Change of Heart on your Dragon."
The infamous Spell appeared and her Unicorn was pulled to his side of the field and she groaned and replied, "I forgot that evil Spell was unbanned in the first place."
"I tribute your monster for my Choju of the Trillion Hands."
it vanished into particles of light and a golden statue-like Fairy appeared (ATK: 1,600) and he resumed, "When Choju is Summoned, I can grab a Ritual Spell Card and a Ritual monster from my deck."
He grabbed the cards and resumed, "I now activate my Synthesis Spell Ritual Spell."
It appeared.
"I'll tribute my monster and summon my Lycanthrope."
The Fairy faded away and then a savage Werewolf appeared (ATK: 2,400).
"I attack your monster."
It let out a howl as it went and slashed at the Spellcaster and he moaned and then burst into triangles (Jamie LP: 3300 - 2700) and she smiled and resumed, "Ranshin's destruction causes any monster of my choice to be banished from your graveyard and I choose your Vorse Raider."
He nodded and banished it resumed, "You now take damage equal to each Normal monster in my graveyard and I have 8 in their right now."
She moaned in pain as 8 white phantom skulls flew from the Beast Warrior and flew right into her (Jamie LP: 2700 - 1100).
"Your move now, miss."
Manda drew a card and resumed, "I now activate my facedown Ultimeat Offering."
The facedown card up.
"I'll drop 1,000 lifepoints to allow me to make 3 Normal Summons this turn."
She glowed (Jamie LP: 1100 - 100) and she resumed, "I Normal Summon my Chow Sai the Ghost Stopper, my own Dark Blade and finally my Gogogo Golem."
She played the cards and another dark-robed monk (ATK: 1,900) and another Dark Blade (ATK: 1,800) and a rocky golem-like creature all appeared (ATK: 1,600).
"I overlay my Dark Blade and my Golem to Xyz Summon my Time Thief Redoer."
She played the card and a handsome capped male psychic with white hair appeared (ATK: 2,400) and then she smiled and resumed, "I activate my Xyz Unit to him."
His arm began to glow (ATK: 2,400 - 3,200) and Anton nodded and resumed, "You American duelists are really amazing. Go for the win."
"Thanks for a good duel. Redoer, attack!"
He swung his arm and a burst of shadowy energy shot out and slammed into the Ritual monster and it howled in pain before being blown into shards and she resumed, "Chow Sai ends this duel."
He glowed as a blast of small dark shards shot out and slammed into him (Anton LP: 2000 - 0) and the female announcer nearby nodded and replied, "Folks, we have a winner! Your Florida State Champion is the one and only Jamie Masterson!"
The crowd cheered as she smiled to the people watching the duel.

The ball went out and he nodded and resumed, "Decent she's using there. I think she may have the best deck of them all with all those Xyz she's might be using."
Nastasia then replied, "I just noticed something, sir. The first duelist uses a deck based on a lot of Fire monsters, the 2nd duelist uses good Dragon deck and the last ones uses a decent Xyz Summon Deck. These decks are really powerful."
Bleck nodded and replied, "I noticed that too, Nastasia. If they come to the island, make sure my troops keep a close on them all."
She nodded and she and O'Chunks left the room and he looked at the dark book and he laughed and replied, "With this book my side, the whole world and this silly island will soon be mine!"
"Bleh HEH HEH HEH BLECK!"

That ended bravely and these kids must be able to help us and stop Count Bleck before he takes over the island. Next time, we invite them them to our island and their families as well and we explain everything to them as well. Every will be explained when I, Merlon, have to explain about our island troubles as our island worry about our "Future Glow" and how will that go? Find out soon.
