Ceci Masters was quite enthusiastic regarding her upcoming seventeenth birthday. Her parents and her friends' parents had pooled money together to rent out the Peace Valley Recenter for the entire day!
They'd invited most of her classmates, but the people she was looking forward to the most attending were her younger sister and brother, Jazz and Danny Fenton. Or Jackson as was their alias in her world. After all, they're from a different reality. When Danny and her had been granted their soul bond, he used his middle name, Jackson, as his last name.
The Ancients assured her there was a law that no ghosts were permitted to attack/ruin any other ghosts' birthdays. That applied to half-ghosts as well. So she didn't have to agonize about her supernatural adversaries ruining her day.
Ceci was in her magenta and aqua-colored bedroom with her best friend, Denise Duquesne, trying on various outfits for her party. "So, what do you think of this one?" Ceci asked as she held up a midnight blue shirt with billowy sleeves and ebony flared jeans.
"It's nice, Ceci. Better then some of your other picks," gesturing to the outfits they'd already disregarded. The cheerleader sighed, "I'm still unsure why you invited Diego to the party. I mean, he's your arch-enemy."
Ceci let out a sigh of impatience. She counted to ten before speaking, "I've already told you more then once, Denise. The Ancients informed me and Danny that its against the law for any fighting to happen when a ghost is celebrating their birthday.
If no ghosts show up, then no Blue Baron will either. Now, would you please help me with accessories now that we've got the outfit picked out?"
"Okay! No need to be so touchy, girlfriend," her friend replied while holding hands up in a peaceful gesture.
Ceci sighed, "I'm sorry too. I want everything to go perfectly at this party. Next year will be my eighteenth birthday. But right now? I like this birthday to be extra memorable since I want my whole family there.
I've already celebrated sixteen birthdays without my second younger sister and brother. And don't start on the fact it was because I didn't know they existed! But I've talked to Danny, and even he acknowledges that he always felt someone was missing on his birthdays."
"Well, some say the bond between siblings is powerful. Even if they never met, they can still feel each other. At least, that's what my Mom has told me from her experience working at the hospital."
"Thanks for understanding, Denise. So how about we get to accessorizing?" both girls giggled as they opened Ceci's jewelry box.
Meanwhile, Jamie was at the rec center with the rest of their classmates. Everyone was working together to put together an extraordinary party. Ceci was well-known and well-liked at school, so the rest of the class naturally wanted to guarantee she had a fabulous birthday party.
Randy Martin and his band, The Specters, were occupied rehearsing while Bonnie worked with a few cheer squad members to be backup dancers. They had to get both the music and the choreography correct.
"Come on, guys! We've rehearsed this song thousands of times! So why are you flubbing it today?" Randy asked irritably. He noticed his bandmates were looking at Bonnie's cheerleaders.
"You know, Bonnie, I think having backup dancers is throwing off my homie's ability to play."
The blond teen just scoffed. "Everything will be fine, Randy! Quit bellyaching! I'm almost done with the choreography! If it helps, I'll fix my dancer's outfits!"
"It's better! We don't want the guys further distracted or worse, our parents complaining the girl's outfits are too sexy."
"We'll get it fixed, okay!"
"Fine!"
"Knock it off, both of you!" called a voice identical to Randy's
Looking up, they saw that Randy's twin Cory was directing everyone on what to do.
"Sorry, bro. We'll get it together."
"I trust you to do that. Now let's see." Pulling out his clipboard, he said, "Okay, let's see music and dancers check," as he glanced at the stage. He then walked over to where Kati and her boyfriend Garth were.
"So, Kati? How are you and Garth keeping within the budget?" the class president questioned politely.
Kati answered, "We're doing exceptionally well, thank you. I cannot wait to upload the party onto the school blog!" the half-Native American half-Greek girl replied happily.
"Slow down, Kat. We already agreed we need Ceci's consent to do that. Plus, of course, edit out anything that might prove embarrassing," the former Tenseness native replied.
Kati blushed, "Sorry, Garth. I'll make sure to ask her before the party. Anything else we should know?" she asked their attractive classmate.
"As long as you stay within budget, things should be okay. But be prepared for any surprises," he warned them.
"I believe he means if any ghost shows up to vandalize the party," Wendell conveyed from the center of the room. Everyone looked at their trans-male friend dressed in a black cat hoodie.
"Please don't jinx us, Wendell, since this party is extremely significant to Ceci! I heard her cousin's family is coming for it. And I don't mean the ones who live in Madison." Diego called out as he brushed his thick, unkempt black and blue hair out of his face.
Wendell looked slightly confused, so Jamie said, "Her mother, Maddie's cousin Kathleen's family are coming. Kathleen's kids, Jazz and Danny, visit on the weekends or for special events.
Danny and Jazz mean a lot to Ceci since she found them utilizing one of those DNA tests. They act more like siblings then distant cousins. So she wants everything to be perfect when her cousins come to celebrate with her for the first time!" Jamie finished explaining.
"Oh, sorry, I forgot. I've had a lot on my mind lately. You know, since moving here at the end of September," the new kid explained. His family moved from Minnesota to Peace Valley so he could start fresh after he finally became a boy.
"Well, we all forget and get overwhelmed at times. It's nothing to be ashamed of," Kati pointed out. Everyone had a quick soda break before returning to make this the best party for Ceci ever.
Finally, it was the night of Ceci's 17th birthday party! Randy and the Specters were playing some of their original songs. They were also taking requests, and everyone was having fun dancing.
Ceci properly introduced her classmates to her 'cousins' Danny and Jazz. While the teenagers mingled, Maddie, Kathleen, and the other mothers manned the food station. The dads, though, guaranteed no shenanigans were happening at the party.
"I'm super happy you guys were able to make it!" Ceci couldn't stop hugging her little sister and brother.
"Ceci! You're squeezing us to death!" whispered Danny, to which his older sister let go.
"Sorry, Danny. So what do you think of my classmates?" Danny had to think it over for a few minutes. But Jazz instantly replied.
"Well, I think most of them behave much more maturely then the kids at Casper High. You also don't have dumb jocks like Dash Baxter attempting to weasel their way out of doing school work or facing detention."
"Nah, our school principal doesn't play favorites or put of with that nonsense. Mrs. Ricardez is a great principal."
"Well, I'm glad some schools aren't letting others get away with this BS and are actually putting their foot down," Danny grinned.
"I know you wish it at your school as well. Hopefully, it will happen before you graduate. Now let's do as the song says and shut up and dance!"
The siblings quickly became the stars of the dance floor, and the best gift Ceci could've gotten on her birthday, she did. Just spending her birthday with everyone she loved! What more could you ask for?
