Chapter 47: Battle Vs. Lorekeeper Zinnia! Returning To Sky Pillar!
Courtney - "So now what do we do?"
Michael - "You four head for the Space Center in Mossdeep City and join up with my friends. As for me, I'm going to stop Zinnia."
Archie - "Good luck then kiddo. You're gonna need it."
Maxie - "Actually Michael. Before you get moving, Archie and I have something to tell you."
Michael - "You do?"
Archie - "Oh that's right. I almost completely forgot that the two of us had come to a decision on your business proposal."
Michael - "Hehe. Funny thing about that. I had forgotten to ask you both about that after everything that had happened in Sootopolis City. Anyway. Your decision?"
Archie and Maxie quickly glanced at each other before responding.
Archie/Maxie - "We accept."
Michael - "Good to here. So who's the represetentive for your respective teams?"
Archie - "Shelly for Team Aqua."
Maxie - "And Courtney for Team Magma."
Both girls nodded their heads, then quickly realized their situation.
Shelly/Courtney - "Us?!"
Maxie - "Yes you two. Compared to Matt and Tabitha, Archie and I agreed that you two would be the better fit. Among 'other' things."
Both girls faces went bright red.
Michael - "Speaking of Matt and Tabitha, you guys better punish them good when you reach Mossdeep Space Center."
Archie - "What do you mean by that?"
Michael quickly explained what Matt and Tabitha had tried to do at the Space Center.
Maxie - "Those idiots. Why am I not surprised."
Archie - "Don't worry Michael. Maxie and I will make sure to punish them properly."
Michael - "As for you two..."
Michael then suddenly cupped Shelly and Courtney's face and kissed both woman on the lips. Even Archie and Maxie were stunned at Michael's boldness. Michael then slowly pulled away.
Michael - "Don't think the girls and I haven't noticed how much you both care about me."
Courtney and Shelly's blushes got brighter as they pulled away. Michael then chuckled at their antics.
Michael - "Anyway. You guys get going to the Space Center. I'll head to Sky Pillar and stop Zinnia."
Shelly/Courtney - "Stay safe."
Michael - "I will. You both have my word on that."
Soon everyone left Team Magma's hideout. While Archie, Maxie, Shelly, and Courtney made their way over to the Mossdeep Space Center, Michael made his way over to Sky Pillar. It was also super late into the night. As he looked up at it, he knew what he had to do.
Michael - "Sorry Zinnia. But your plan's gonna fail due to missing a key piece of it. Good thing I've already thought ahead of it."
Michael then slowly entered the bottom floor of Sky Pillar and contacted the others.
Michael - "You there Twilight?"
Twilight - "Loud and clear Michael. But just why are you contacting me now? Don't you have to stop Zinnia?"
Michael - "I do. But I wanted to show you all this first."
Michael then showed the girls the massive tall mural along the Sky Pillar's back wall.
Weiss - "What is that?"
Michael - "The other mural. While the one in Granite Cave mainly talks about what happened between Lady Kyogre and Lord Groudon when they were in their Primal forms back then, this one mainly talks about what Lady Rayquaza's done every time she's Mega Evolved to save the entire planet."
Michael then explained the entire story about Rayquaza and the Draconids from back then, just like he had to Delcatty and Swampert the first time.
Roxanne - "Wait. So the whole reason Zinnia took all of those Key Rings was to get the Infinity Energy inside them, all so she could summon Lady Rayquaza to destroy the Meteoroid?"
Michael - "That's exactly right Roxanne. But sadly, her plan's gonna fall short."
Ruby - "Why do you say that?"
Michael - "Cause Zinnia's missing a very important item right now. One which I already have on me. And also... Be weary of the Meteoroid. Something about it just looks different."
Clair - "He's not wrong. Something about the Meteoroid just feels alive."
Soon Michael continued his Trek up the Sky Piller. As he did so, the girls continued to question him.
Shelly - "As much as I hate to admit it, the Draconids are way better for all of Hoenn than either of our teams. Huh Courtney?"
Courtney - "I'll say. But still, the fact that Zinnia needs this much energy feels a bit like overkill."
Michael - "Well in Zinnia's eyes, it's not. With how strong Lady Rayquaza's Mega Evolution is SUPPOSED to be, Zinnia needs all of the Infinity Energy she can get."
Twilight - "Good luck. We're all cheering for you."
Michael - "Thanks."
Before Michael knew it, he had reached Sky Pillar's summit. There, he found Zinnia looking up at the sky, with her Whismur Aster standing next to her.
Zinnia - "See that, Aster? You've always wanted to watch them, right? The Litleonids. A million glittering stars falling from the sky... The show is about to start."
Aster - "I'm excited to be watching this with you Zinnia! Always!"
Zinnia - "Aren't we happy now? Yes, what could be better, dear Aster? Ha ha..."
Zinnia then turned to see Michael, along with the camera that was showing the girls.
Michael - "Get some distance Gladis. But make sure you can still hear us fine."
Gladis - "Yes sir."
Gladis, the AI for Michael's communicator, quickly got the camera out of the way of Sky Pillar's summit.
Zinnia - "Welcome to the Dragonhark Altar. Michael. You already know what I'm trying to do here, right?"
Michael - "If you mean using the Infinity Energy to summon Lady Rayquaza and use her power to destroy the incoming Meteoroid, then yes I do."
Zinnia - "That's right. That is my... No, it is our duty. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always turned my eyes up to the sky. When I was so full of uncertainty that I felt my heart might be crushed by it... When I was so grief-stricken and alone I thought my heart my break of it... I turned and looked up there... So that my tears would never, ever fall. What about you? Have you ever had to do something like that?"
Michael - "To be honest, besides what happened to me a week before the day I became a Pokémon Trainer, not really."
Zinnia - "What do you mean by that?"
Michael explained everything that happened to him to Zinnia. Even those of Team Aqua and Team Magma were stunned at what they heard.
Michael - "However, despite all that's happened. I wouldn't change a second of it. My friends and family, and all of the Pokémon I've met. That's all another for me to help you with this goal to stop the Meteoroid."
Zinnia - "Well I can respect your energy and drive to keep on moving. Heh. I used to watch the stars like this all the time... Together with Aster. We were always together. In good times and in bad. I loved her. I loved her with everything I had..."
Zinnia's bright expression then turned to one of grief.
Michael - "You still lost her though, didn't you?"
Zinnia - "Yes. Hahaha... I want to see her... I want to be with her again... My sweet Aster..."
Aster - "Zinnia...?"
Zinnia - "I will, won't I? With this... Just a little longer... Hey Michael. what say we get some sleep?"
Michael - "Are you trying to trick me here?"
Zinnia - "No. If you're truly gonna stop me, then I want you at full strength."
Michael - "Fine then. Twilight. You and the others get some rest too."
Twilight - "Ok Michael. Have a good night's sleep."
Michael then quickly brought out his sleeping bag and got into it before dozing off to sleep.
-The Following Morning-
Aster - "Wakey, wakey!"
Michael opened his eyes to see Aster standing in front of him. He then saw Zinnia turn to face him.
Zinnia - "Guess I should say good morning? You slept well, didn't you?"
Michael - "Yes, I did. How about you?"
Zinnia - "I slept good too."
Zinnia's face then went a bit red.
Zinnia - "You look so adorable when you sleep."
Meanwhile, the others had woken up and were silently using Gladis to watch the action.
Twilight - "How much you girls wanna say Zinnia's gonna join us."
Weiss - "Something tells me she will."
Zinnia suddenly turned to face the Altar.
Zinnia - "Enough. I think it's time I gave it a shot. I'm sorry... For all the trouble I caused you and your friends. If something happens to me... Please... Take this little one..."
Aster then ran over to stand next to Michael as Zinnia began to summon Rayquaza.
Zinnia - "...Ok. Here I go. 'With jewel bright and borrowed might from the spirits of the departed... Through sacred rite, in thy great sight, my life as well I offer..."
Suddenly the Key Rings that Zinnia had taken were beginning to glow brightly.
Zinnia - "I summon thee...to aid...this fight...and save us...from disaster! Realize them...upon this world...! For this do I summon thee! Lady Rayquaza!"
Rayquaza then suddenly appeared right in front of Michael and Zinnia.
Zinnia - "Lady... Rayquaza! I did it! I...I did it! Now the world...will be saved! Aster... Aster, I did it!"
Despite still being stunned that her plan worked, Zinnia quickly returned her focus to the task at hand.
Zinnia - "Great Lady Rayquaza! Hear my wish! Achieve your Mega Evolution and take hold of your true power! Show me your true face! The Lady Rayquaza that will save this planet!"
Rayquaza - "I'm sorry my child. But I can't."
Zinnia's eyes went wide as her Key Ring didn't react at all.
Zinnia - "Huh?! H-How can this be?! I gathered all of the Key Rings that could withstand your great power... And summoned you here... You came... And yet... Why?! Come on! Do it! Mega Evolve! Why?! Why won't you..."
Zinnia then suddenly understood why.
Zinnia - "What?! It can't be... The one without enough power...is you, Lady Rayquaza? The Meteorites that should lie within Lady Rayquaza's great body...aren't enough. Have these past 1,000 years drained them of their power?"
Michael was just as stunned to hear that as everyone else.
Michael - "Is this true Lady Rayquaza?"
Rayquaza - "Yes, Michael. It is. I'm sorry."
Zinnia fell to her knees in defeat.
Zinnia - "This... Can't... Be... I can't... I... I... Everything... I've done... Till now... Aster... I can't... I can't take any...more..."
Suddenly the Meteorite in Michael's bag began to glow. Zinnia then quickly stood up and walked over to behind Michael.
Zinnia - "That's-?!"
The glow from the Meteorite began getting brighter and stronger.
Zinnia - "What? That Meteorite?! It's just like... A Mega Stone?!"
Michael pulled out the Meteorite, then tossed it towards Rayquaza, who ate it like it was nothing. Soon light began to spill forth from Rayquaza's entire body.
Michael - "Are you ok Lady Rayquaza?"
Rayquaza - "I'm just fine Michael. And at full power too!"
Michael - "That's good to hear."
Rayquaza - "Now then. I DO see both of you as worthy owners of my power. So, the both of you are gonna battle it out to decide which of you battles and catches me. Are the both of you fine with that?"
Zinnia - "I'm fine with that."
Michael - "Same here."
Rayquaza - "Good. Now begin the battle!"
Zinnia - "Michael. This is my final duty as the last Lorekeeper of the Draconids! Show me that your power exceeds my expecations! All of history that we've clung on to until today! Show me that you are the one to surpass it!"
Michael - "With pleasure Zinnia!"
Zinnia - "My pulse... I can feel it racing...Yes. I'm feeling... Totally... Pumped! This is it! Go Goodra!"
Michael - "Delcatty I choose you!"
Aster quickly got out of harm's way. Michael then activated his Battle Disk, which caused an aura to surround Zinnia's Pokémon.
Goodra: Attack +1, Defense +1, Sp. Attack +1, Sp. Defense +1, Speed +1

Mega Soul Delcatty skidded across the ground as Tyrantrum threw her away with his mouth.
Michael - "You ok?"
Mega Soul Delcatty - "I'll be fine. Nothing I can't handle."
As Mega Soul Delcatty walked back out on to the battlefield, she and Michael mentally thought up a quick plan.

Michael - "Just wait for my signal Delcatty."
Mega Soul Delcatty - "Right."
Zinnia - "Dragon Earth Stone Crunch!"
Michael and Mega Soul Delcatty silently watched as Tyrantrum rushed at her.
Tyrantrum - "Time to take you down dragon feline!"
Then just as Tyrantrum reached Mega Soul Delcatty.
Michael - "Now Delcatty!"
Mega Soul Delcatty then suddenly dodged Tyrantrum's attack easily.
Michael - "Auto-Charge! Solar Shadow Ice!"
Michael's Hand: 6 – 1 = 5
Auto Charge (Michael): Activated
Solar Beam's Current Power: 120 + 120 = 240 + 48 = 288
Solar Shadow Ice's Current Power: 288 + 192 = 480 + 270 = 750 x 2 = 1,500
Zinnia watched stunned as the advantage she seemingly had with Tyrantrum was suddenly gone.
Zinnia's Remaining Pokémon: 2 – 1 = 1
Zinnia returned Turantrum.
Zinnia - "Thank you Tyrantrum. Your efforts won't be in vain. Get a good rest. Go Salamence!"

Zinnia returned Salamence, then walked over to Michael and Delcatty.
Zinnia - "Well I got soundly beat there. But I guess...everything falls to you two now..."
Michael - "So it would seem."
Zinnia - "That settles it, then... Michael, you should even be able to beat that meteoroid that's approaching the planet. You, Delcatty, and Lady Rayquaza...together. I'm leaving this task to you, our new successor. Successor Michael. You three must protect nature...Pokémon...the people... Oh and one more thing..."
Zinnia then shocked everyone by kissing Michael on the lips.
Michael - "We're so talking about this later."
Zinnia - "Of course we are."
Delcatty giggled as Michael sighed in annoyance. She then winched a bit in pain.
Michael - "You ok there Delcatty?"
Delcatty - "I'll be fine Michael."
Michael - "Here. I'll use a Full Restore on you at least."
Michael then quickly patched up Delcatty. The duo then slowly walked over to Rayquaza.
Rayquaza - "Now then you two. Shall we begin?"
Michael and Delcatty shared a quick glance before answering.
Michael/Delcatty - "Let's!"
Rayquaza - "Good. Now give me everything you've got!"
