It was a warm and sultry night for patrol, and Toxinelle was feeling the effects of the heat, making her a bit grumpy. "What's with the smirk?" she asked Claw, perched on the edge of the building they were sitting on. "Oh, I was just thinking about Cockroaches," Claw gave her a grin. "Don't start, Fleabag," she warned, perched beside him. "No, really. In certain countries the are a death omen!"
"Come on, really? And what about fleas?" "I don't know about them, but I'll have you know, this mane is shampooed and blow-dried on the regular." "You are so vain," she grumbled, but he could tell she was smiling. "Yep, and proud of it. Now, I must be getting my beauty sleep, so goodnight and don't let the cockroaches bite!" Claw sang, leaping into the night.
"Bedbugs!" She called after him, but he was already gone.
Adrien awoke, moonlight shining in his window. He heard a strange sound that had woken him up. He looked over at Plagg, he was snoring gently, but it wasn't the sound Adrien heard.
A movement over by his desk caught his eye, and his heart pounded. There was a creature in here! Sucking up his courage, Adrien climbed from his warm bed, and crept cautiously over.
Hiss! Adrien gave a yelp of fright, bounding back under the covers. If the thing hissed, it could be extremely dangerous! But what if it crawled into his bed and over him….Adrien shuddered. He was going to find out what this creature was, even if it bit him.
Another hiss made Adrien freeze, but he called quietly, "You can hiss all you want, but I'm not afraid of you!" A answering hiss answered him. Mm, if the thing hissed...wait a minute….
"I've been frightened by a roach?" he cried. Snapping on the desk lamp, sure enough a cockroach wandered along the length of his desk.
Adrien sat down in his chair, regaining his breath. Maybe this little bug hadn't caused him death, but he had certainly given him a fright! Just wait until Toxinelle heard about this!
