"Talk"

'Thought'

"Ah, the almighty Truck-Kun strikes again."

The "Mob", who was actually known as Cid Kageno, was currently having some coffee and cookies with Yumiella Dolkness, who seemed very interested in the young man sitting across from her. Both were in a private room so they could have a, "Proper", discussion.

"Couldn't be me though, I was reincarnated because of my desires for magic."

Cid lifted the cup of coffee to his lips and took a sip, oblivious to the fact that he was killed in the same way in his past life.

"But I won't lie, it's actually nice to talk to a fellow Isekai person."

Cid put down his cup and looked back at Darkness with his own interest.

"Agreed, I never thought I would actually find someone like me when I entered the Light and Hero game."

Despite how little Yumiella expressed her emotions on her face, it was still clear that she felt happy and excited to meet someone who understood her position.

"Though, to know that I'm actually stuck in some dating sim game world is kinda lame, but hey, I guess that means I can do my Shadowbroker for real this time, you said there would be a Demon Lord in the future right?"

At first, the knowledge that Cid was in a romance game ruined his fun a bit, but after thinking about it more deeply, he could definitely make his situation work and even have more fun with his roleplay than he had before.

"I think so, but to be honest, it's been a while since I played the game, so please forgive me for not remembering everything that happens here in this world."

Yumiella bowed her head and apologized for her lack of knowledge, but Kageno just simply waved his hand at her, as if letting her know it was ok.

"Eh, that's fine, I can come up with something to make it fit with my "Eminence In Shadow" narrative, maybe I can fit it in with my Cult of Diablo I got going with my buddies."

Cid once again drank his coffee and began thinking about the many ways he could spin this new information into his role-playing and head canon of his shadow character.

"Speaking of that, you mentioned that it's been your childhood dream to become one right? How has that been going?"

Yumiella also decided to take this chance to learn more about her fellow reincarnated friend, genuinely curious about what he has been doing ever since he was transported to another world.

"I will admit, it's been rough, when you spend your whole life walking this path alone, with even your closet friends leaving you and thinking you're weird, well, I would never give up on my dreams for anything, but I would be lying if I didn't question myself once or twice."

Cid, in honesty, vented out some personal frustration and heavy stuff he had been keeping in his heart, which might have seemed silly to others, but was clearly personal for him, which was something the LV:99 Villainess wanted to comfort him about.

"Well I don't think you're weird, in fact, I hope you become an awesome Shadowbroker in the future."

Yumiella gave her the most supportive and determined expression she could muster on her blank face, which made him chuckle and smile in return.

"Thanks, that means a lot."

Cid couldn't help but feel so much better about himself now, not only from getting some stuff off his chest, but to have someone be so understanding of his dreams, it truly made him happy today.

"If you don't mind me asking, how did you become strong? For me, I just used some of my martial arts knowledge I've learned from my previous life, plus practicing my magic on some bandits and possession I came across."

It was Cid's turn to be curious about Dolkness and want to learn more about her, specifically wanting to know how she got so strong, though after sharing his own methods in doing so.

"Back in the day when I played games, I always believed that the fundamental way to level up is defeating monsters, so I will always delve into dungeons whenever I have the time, and I made sure to kill as many as I can, also to make sure I gain the most XP, I don't use any artifacts that grants protection, instead I always choose one that increase the rate of my growth, not only that, but I also use my Monster-Calling Flute, so that I can summon as many monsters as possible, also to maximize the gains, I always go solo, with no special help or forming any party groups, they would just get in my way of getting stronger, by the way, I recommend going for monsters that specialize in offensive abilities, not defense, because you'll spend less time fighting them, obviously, stronger the monster, the better your strength increases, so I always go as deep into the dungeon as I can, leveling up is basically a form of occupational performance, so setting daily goals and doing your best to meet them is crucial, since I specialized in dark magic, my responsibility is much more immense, so I try going into light type dungeons for better results and efficiency."

However, when Yumiella was asked this question, her once blank face was suddenly transformed into pure excitement, as she didn't hesitate to explain in great detail and with great passion how she became as strong as she is, most would have described her method as harsh, crazy, and even evil.

"Lucky, I never had any dungeons where I lived."

But for Cid, not only did he pay close attention and listen to every single thing she had just said, but he felt immense jealousy for not only thinking about such an obvious method, but also because he didn't have a dungeon he could visit back at home to use.

"I can show you some if you like, but in exchange you train me on how to use martial arts and power control."

Yumiella was willing to help Kageno in getting stronger, but in exchange for some training, which he readily accepted.

"Deal."

Which such a deal made, both Cid and Dolkness continue to speak and have a conversation with each other, whether it be about past lives, new lives, training tips, what they've accomplished so far, what they hope to accomplish in the future, and more, they talk and get to know each other so much that they just barely realize the sun is setting and will become night soon.

"Welp, I think I should get going, I'll just tell my friends that you dumped me because I didn't meet your standards."

Deciding to call it a day after talking so much, Cid stood up from his seat, gathered his things, and was about to leave the LV 99 Villainess behind.

"I hope we meet again soon, I like talking with like minded individuals."

With a simple goodbye and a promise to see each other again, Cid was about to leave the room completely.

"Um... Cid, before you go, can I ask you something?"

But before Kageno could leave, he was stopped by Yumiella calling out to him, no doubt wishing to say something to him before he left.

"Hm? Wassup?"

Cid looks back at Dolkness, ready to listen to what she has to say now.

"What do you think I should do with my life?"

"Just have fun."

As soon as Yumiella asked this question, Cid instantly answered the question without hesitation.

"H-Have fun?"

Yumiella was both startled and surprised by how fast he answered and what his answer was.

"Mhm, whether it be as a Villainess, a Hero, an Eminence In Shadow, or even a simple Mob life, you can be whatever you want, do whatever you want, you have the power to do so, so use it, and don't let others stop from using it."

Cid suddenly faced her and spoke to her in the most serious and dramatic tone he could muster.

"I chose to be a Shadowbroker because it's my passion and something I enjoy, but what about you?"

Posing like Cid was thinking deeply at life

"You have so many options in how you wanna have fun, all you gotta do is pick one."

Before looking back at LV 99 Villainess as if Cid was staring deeply into her soul, as if trying to find what her answer would be.

"... Have you been practicing that speech?"

Though Yumiella ruined the moment after realizing that what Kageno was saying was probably scripted.

"Was it good?"

Cid looked back, asking and hoping to know if his performance was good or not, and if what he said was deep enough to touch her soul.

"It's a little cringe."

Though as soon as Yumiella gave her honest opinion, the Mob gasped and clutched his chests, as if she had shot him in the heart with an arrow.

"I'm dead..."

Before Cid just decided to fall over to the ground and be dead, no doubt being called "Cringe" was what killed him, Dolkness couldn't help but giggle softly at how her new friend was being so dramatic about all this.

'All I gotta do is pick what would be fun, huh?'

But then Yumiella couldn't help but be in deep thought, now seriously considering her place in this world, all the while thinking about what she had just been told by Cid, who was still on the ground and dead from being cringed at by her.

'Hm...'

SOOOOOOOO, here's the deal I guess, Yumiella will somewhat be aware of the Cult, however in her memories, they were so insignificant to her, basically last minute enemies, like the Cult is the reason why the Demon Lord, or Diablo, was revived, but she completely saw them as plot device and not actual threats, even if she saw them again, she wouldn't even remember them except being a main villain in the story, that's how much they little to her, HOWEVER, due to Cid involvement in the shadows, not to mention Yumiella being revealed to be LV 99, the once minor villains in the game, have become much bigger threats in real life, basically you can blame Cid and Yumiella for making the Cult a bigger threat than it used be, if that makes sense.

(OFF TOPIC: But I hope someone gets inspired to write some Level 99 Villainess story, I feel with this crossover alone there are different ways to do it, like Cid and Yumiella could replace each other in their story, they could be siblings, or childhood friends in the old or new life, or maybe some kind of Noble arranged marriage, of course it doesn't have to be Eminence In Shadow, Yumiella Dolkness could be in other Crossover, like Overlord, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, One Punch Man, Medaka Box, etc etc etc, yeah... HAVE FUN, LOVE YOU ALL~)

/BTW What Role Should Yumiella Play?\

Nothing: Yumiella won't be a part of Cid's role play, just be his friend and someone that both can relate and vent personal problems with one another, like Yumiella will complain how her life is tough to Cid and vice versa.

Shadow Queen: Cid could make up some lie and say something like how Yumiella Dolkness has always existed even before the creation of the Shadow Garden, and how her cover was blown by the Cult or something like that, either way, Yumiella will be treated as his true and only partner, telling her secrets that not even Alpha knows about, that type of relationship.

Full On Villainess: For Cid's sake, and because she decided it would be fun to role play with someone she can relate to, she decided that she will call herself the true Demon Lord, or some other evil persona like that, of course she's not really evil, and would never kill the innocent and all the bad stuff, but the Cult or Kingdom won't know that, however Yumiella assume that the Shadow Garden is role playing to and doesn't realize that they're actually trying to kill her.
