(A/N: I do not own Paw Patrol, enjoy!)
"Got any sort of 'Netflix and chill' type plan?" Everest asked as she munched on some popcorn.
"Umm" Marshall replied, cocking his head to the side. "Not really, it isn't really my style, more like Zuma's."
"Not like actual 'Netflix and chill'" Everest groaned with a roll of her eyes, "just something laid back, like a movie night or something."
"That I do have" Marshall replied, flipping to the relevant page.

Hot Pupcorn - 50
"Pups!" Ryder called out, "time for a movie night!"
"Yay! Pretty sure it's my turn to pick" Skye yipped.
"You picked last time" Rocky reminded the Cockapoo, "this week it is Rubble's turn."
"I thought it was Zuma's turn" Rubble interjected.
"No, Zuma was two weeks ago" Chase corrected the Bulldog.
"When is it going to be my turn?" Everest asked.
"Ok, pups," Ryder said with a laugh. "This week we are going to do something different. I'm going to put several movies on in different places so you can go between them as you like."
"Kind of like going to the movie theatew" Zuma said.
"A little" Ryder said. "Come on, let's get setup."
The pups helped Ryder setup movies downstairs in the lounge, in the kitchen/dining room, and upstairs in the control room.
"Ok, what movies do you pups want to watch?" Ryder asked.
"A-Team!" Rocky yipped excitedly.
"Sick choice dude!" Zuma yipped.
"I'm in" Chase added.
"You sure Chase?" Skye asked, "I was thinking of putting Space Balls on…"
Chase froze, immediately torn between what to watch.
"I'll watch it with you Skye" Rubble said, "but we call dibs on the kitchen."
"That's fine, control room is better for us anyway" Rocky said with a wave of his paw.
"What do you want to watch, Marshall?" Everest turned to ask.
"It's a secret" Marshall replied mysteriously, "but I'll be down in the lounge it seems."
"Can we at least get a hint, amigo?" Tracker asked.
"It has a little bit of everything" Marshall admitted.
"You've got my attention" Everest replied.
"Mine too" Tracker replied.
"You'll have to at least tell me so I can put it on for you" Ryder laughed.
"Ok" Marshall replied, padding over to his leader to whisper in his ear.
Ryder nodded, "ok, I'll set it up last buddy."
"Thanks Ryder!" Marshall yipped happily.
The pups all raced to get their bean bags into position while Ryder cued up the movies.
"Thanks Ryder!" Rocky yipped, his tail already wagging. Ryder smiled as he watched the wagging tails as the intro rolled.
As Ryder walked down the stairs, he could already hear and smell the popcorn popping. As he walked into the kitchen, the pups already had the big metal bowls out and were pouring the first batch of popcorn into it. "I'd say take it easy" Ryder laughed, "but we have plenty and I know it's a lost cause."
"You've got that right" Everest laughed, swiping a bite as she and Marshall walked the first bowl up the stairs.
"We are going to clean the cupboard out" Rubble laughed.
Ryder cued up the movie as the pups kept popping the popcorn. The level of distraction ratcheted up as the intro rolled. Marshall and Everest came back down and grabbed their own bowl as they, along with Tracker, headed into the lounge.
All three bean bags were piled up next to each other in the center of the room. The popcorn bowl was placed in the center, in front of Everest, with Marshall on her right and Tracker on her left.
"Enjoy pups" Ryder said with a smile as he started the movie and walked out.
The movie opened with a black screen and coughing. A young lad soon appeared, playing a very retro looking baseball game, complete with 8-bit music.
"Que? How old is this movie, Marshall?" Tracker asked.
"Classics never age" Marshall said with a smile.
"Is that your way of saying you have no idea?" Everest teased.
"Pretty much" Marshall admitted with a laugh.
The movie plot quickly developed from a grandpa visiting his sick grandson to the aforementioned grandpa reading a story to his sick grandson, which was the actual movie. A movie about a farm boy and the girl who lived on the farm, strangely without any adults. It quickly developed into a "very emotional time."
"When does the good stuff start?" Tracker asked impatiently.
"Soon" Marshall replied.
"I never thought I would wish for a movie to show me someone getting murdered by pirates" Everest groaned.
"It will make sense later" Marshall assured her.
Shortly, though, Tracker was tired of waiting. "I can't take it anymore; I need some action our laughs or something."
"We are literally almost there" Marshall assured him.
"Not this time, amigo" Tracker said with a shake of his head, "maybe next time. He grabbed his beanbag and headed to the kitchen.
"You better be right, Marshall" Everest said ominously.
"Five more minutes" Marshall said placatingly. Everest replied by taking a great big bite of popcorn.
Meanwhile, Ryder was checking on all the pups, and delivering more popcorn. He had seen all three movies a bunch of times so it was not jarring to flow between them.
As he walked into the kitchen, found Rubble hacking into the trash can, with Chase patting his back. "What's wrong?" Ryder asked as he ran over.
"I don't know" Chase replied nervously. "He was just eating popcorn and then yelped like he was in pain before running over to the trash can and throwing up into it."
"Go get Marshall, Skye" Ryder directed.
"On my way!" Skye yipped as she ran out.
"It's going to be ok, Rubble" Ryder soothed as he took over patting the Bulldog.
"Too…hot!" Rubble gasped between hacks.
"What?" Ryder tried to clarify.
"Popcorn…too…hot" Rubble panted, finally stopping his hacking.
"Chase, check the temperature of the popcorn" Ryder directed.
Chase walked over and tested the popcorn with his paw. "It seems fine to me, Ryder" Chase said before popping a pawful in his mouth. Chase's eyes immediately bugged out of his head and he dashed over to the trashcan, shoving Rubble to the side before puking into the trashcan himself.
"What's wrong Chase?" Ryder asked, now slightly alarmed.
"Mouth…on fire!" Chase yelped in pain between gags.
Ryder looked over at the popcorn. "Oh no" he mumbled to himself.
In the lounge, Everest was enthralled with the movie now. Despite the slow start, Marshall had been right about when her interest would be peaked. Spellbound, Everest was leaning forward on her beanbag, looming over the popcorn that she was subconsciously gobbling down, and leaning ever so slightly towards Marshall, who was acutely aware of her increasing closeness.
"I would sooner destroy a stained-glass window than an artist such as yourself."
Skye ran into the room and around to Marshall. "Ryder needs you in the kitchen" she whispered semi-frantically.
"What's wrong?" Marshall whispered back.
"I don't know, but something is wrong with Rubble" Skye replied. "Ryder needs you."
Marshall's eyes widened. He looked over at Everest and sighed silently to himself. "Be right back" he whispered.
"Ok, more popcorn for me" Everest teased.
Marshall smiled before following Skye out.
Ryder was patting both pups on the back still when Marshall walked into the kitchen. "What's wrong, Ryder?" Marshall yelped as he ran over.
"Ghost pepper popcorn" Ryder said with a groan, "I forgot that there was a bag of it is the pantry. Apparently, it got popped with all the rest."
"Get them both a bowl of cool milk" Marshall instructed, "and go warn…" Marshall was cut off by a chocolate brown missile whizzing past him.
"My mouth!" Zuma yelped in pain as he dashed past everyone to the trashcan.
"Stop being a baby" Rocky laughed as he followed Zuma into the kitchen. "Tracker had some and he is fine."
"Spanish for I'm on fire!"
Rocky whipped around in surprise as Tracker raced past to join Zuma at the trashcan. "I stand corrected" Rocky chuckled.
"It's ghost pepper popcorn, Rocky" Marshall said as he assessed his new patients. "Help get them some milk too please."
"Oh," Rocky replied, now acutely aware of the situation as he ran to help Skye and Ryder.
Soon, all four pups were gulping down milk. "Feel better?" Marshall asked his patients.
"My mouth feels like it is on fire" Chase replied between gulps, "which is better than filled with lava like it was."
"How did ghost pepper popcorn get mixed in?" Rubble asked.
"I must not have been paying attention" Ryder confessed. "I was saving that for playing a practical joke on someone, I must have grabbed it by mistake. I'm sorry pups."
"It's ok, Wyder" Zuma comforted him, "it was an honest mistake."
"Wait, who all might you have given it to?" Skye asked, a bad thought crossing her mind.
"All of you" Ryder replied apologetically.
The pups all looked around, coming to the same realization at the same moment.
"Everest!" they yelped together.
"You are trying to kidnap what I have rightfully stolen!"
Everest snickered to herself at the silliness of the exchange on screen. She was still enjoying the movie, but also wondering when Marshall would be back. It was less fun alone.
At the moment, the doors burst open with everyone running towards her. "What's wrong?" Everest yelped in surprise. He confusion increased when Marshall didn't answer and instead put a paw on her neck to check her pulse.
"Are you ok?" Skye was the first to yelp.
"I feel fine, why?" Everest replied, stealing a glance at Marshall who was focused on checking her vitals for some unknown reason. The process was making her heart rate spike for some unknown reason.
"Dude, she ate the whole bowl" Zuma gasped in surprise and shock.
"No way" Rocky replied, awestruck.
"Will someone please tell me what is going on?" Everest whined.
"I actually gave all of you ghost pepper popcorn" Ryder informed her.
"I thought I tasted a little spice" Everest said with a laugh. There was a hint of nervousness at the tail end.
"Her heart rate is elevated, possibly because her body is starting to metabolize the ghost pepper" Marshall stated. "We need to act fast."
"Doing what, exactly?" Everest inquired, looking at Marshall.
Marshall looked back at her; his intriguing blue eyes serious. "We have to pump your stomach…"
"...What?"
"You fell for one of the classic blunders!"
—
"Really?" Everest said.
"What?" Marshall replied in surprise.
"Don't 'what?' me" Everest said. "Who plans for Ryder to poison his crush with ghost pepper popcorn?"
"Seems plausible" Marshall replied with a shrug.
"Plausible?" Everest snickered, "it's utterly ridiculous is what it is."
"Can I finish, please?" Marshall asked.
"You must think you have a surefire plan if it will work after you pump my stomach" Everest said doubtfully.
—
"Hold her still, please" Marshall requested patiently.
"It's not as easy as it looks" Chase panted.
"Yeah, why do you have the easy job?" Rocky asked as he too struggled to keep a thrashing Everest still.
"Do you want to stick the tube down her throat?" Marshall inquired curiously.
*Chomp!*
"Ah!" Zuma yelped, yanking his paw away just in time. "Nope, all you, dude."
"That's what I thought" Marshall replied with a knowing smile.
"Everest, please calm down" Skye tried to soothe the Husky, "we are just trying to help."
"Then stop trying to take my lunch from my stomach" Everest growled threateningly.
"Everest," Marshall softly said, leaning down to be at eye level with the furious Husky and gently placing a paw on the side of her muzzle, just out of chomping range. "We have to get it out of you. You ate more than enough to kill you. I, for one, don't want a world without you. So please let us help you."
Everest's molten blue eyes looked into Marshall's tranquil blue eyes. "Fine" Everest growled, "but I'm going to hate every second of it!"
Marshall smiled in victory as he gently pried Everest's muzzle open and slipped in the tube. Everest gagged slightly but Marshall gently guided the tube down her throat and into her stomach. He deftly flicked a switch on the machine attached to the other end of the tube.
The machine gently whirred and got to work. "You can let her go now" Marshall said placidly.
"Uh, you suwe, dude?" Zuma asked hesitantly.
"I'm sure" Marshall said, locking eyes with Everest who responded with as much of a grumpy huff of submission as she could manage with a tube down her throat.
Soon, the machine was done. Carefully, Marshall pulled the tube out of Everest.
"Someone better bring me food to eat" Everest growled.
"I'll do it" Marshall replied with a laugh, "you just go lay down and watch the movie."
Glaring at anyone who dared look at her, Everest stood and huffed as she left the medical Bay.
Everest laid down and un-paused the movie. Soon, her mood started to improve. Marshall brought in a plate with a fried food she didn't recognize. "What are these?" Everest asked suspiciously.
"Boneless dark meat chicken wings" Marshall replied.
Everest took a test bite. The warm and tender flavor filled her mouth. Without a second thought, she began wolfing down the wings.
"I guess you like them" Marshall said with a laugh as he laid down on his bean bag next to her. When Everest had finished the plate, she motioned for Marshall to bring her more. "As you wish" Marshall softly whispered.
—
"Ok, that was pretty smooth" Everest admitted with a nod.
"But was it smooth enough?" Marshall asked
"I guess we'll find out" Everest replied with a smirk.
—
Everest just barely caught what Marshall said, and watched as the Dalmatian walked out before returning her attention to the movie.
The only reason Everest noticed Marshall's return was when more wings appeared in front of her. As Marshall laid down next to her, Everest deliberately leaned over the side of her bean bag to lean against Marshall.
Marshall stiffened at the unexpected closeness. Marshall couldn't see it, but a smile spread across Everest's muzzle.
The two pups stayed like that all the way through the end of the movie. Everest finally stirred when the end credits rolled. "Did you like it?" Marshall inquired.
"We'll get to that in a moment" Everest replied, surprising Marshall. "Did you mean what you said?"
"Which thing I said?" Marshall asked to clarify.
"About not wanting to live in a world without me" Everest specified.
"Absolutely" Marshall replied without hesitation. "You are fun and special and dedicated and beautiful and playful and such a unique pup."
"Did you mean the other thing you said," Everest asked, "when you went to get more wings?"
"Oh, that" Marshall gulped, "yes."
Everest looked at the credits scrolling on the screen for a moment, with Marshall getting more and more nervous by the second. "There was one part of the movie I didn't like" Everest revealed.
"Which part was that?" Marshall asked, relieved at the change in subject.
"The very end" Everest said, looking back at Marshall. "I think we can do better than them."
Marshall's eyes widened in shock as his brain realized what Everest was saying a split second before rolling back in his head as Everest proceeded to attempt and then achieve her objective.
—
"I feel like I got lucky" Marshall noted.
"Absolutely, you were lucky to survive pumping my stomach. I can't believe you would do that to poor me" Everest pouted.
"Anything to save you, Eve" Marshall affirmed.
"Fortunately for you, you chose the right words at the right times" Everest continued, "and the right food at the right time."
"I thought those were a good touch" Marshall replied with a smile.
"And since it is raining outside, why don't we go do this date right now" Everest said as she got up. "Without the ghost pepper popcorn and stomach pump."
"As you wish" Marshall teased as he followed her out of his pup house.
(A/N: Special thanks to Bluewolfbat for the idea for this plan. Think you know the movie Marshall picked? Got an idea for a plan? Let me know!)
