Chapter 4: The journey in the afterlife. The one million-mile snake way.
All the fairy tail members returned from their break. They all had time to process all that they had seen so far. Gohan being kidnapped by Raditz. Goku joining forces with Piccolo to defeat him. And unfortunately, Goku's selfless sacrifice to defeat Raditz. They all were sitting in their seats. Ready to react again.
Malia did say if they wanted to continue because it's going to be a long and difficult journey with a lot of hardships and tears. However, there will also be happy and funny moments. And the mages decided to continue this reaction. They were too eager to see what would happen next. Even if it might be too difficult to watch sometimes.
Malia began to start the screen. The screen started in the same place where the last scene ended. The battlefield. Krillin was still facing the horrible truth that his friend was gone.
"Goku. GOKUUU," screamed Krillin in sadness. "Please. You can't be dead. Cmon, wake up."
All mages looked sadly at the scene. Happy began to look for comfort in Lucy's chest.
(No, nothing like that you perverts.)
Lucy rubbed the little exceeds back. "There, there, Happy. Everything is going to be fine. You'll see."
"He's Gone," said Bulma sadly. "I can't believe our Goku is actually gone."
Suddenly, Goku's body disappeared.
All the mages were shocked. "What the heck happened," said Bickslow confused. "Where is Goku's body?"
Mira and Elfman had a scared look in their eyes. It reminded them of when Lisanna's body had vanished from their sight and was transported to Edolas.
"He disappeared," said Master Roshi in shock.
Piccolo smirked. "Figures. This is Kami's doing."
"Kami," said Lucy with widened eyes. "Do they mean god?"
Malia explained. "Well, Kami is actually the Guardian of the Earth. He was also the one who created the Dragon Balls."
"You don't say," said Erza amazed.
"Kami and Piccolo Daimo were originally one being. So, if one of them dies, the Dragon balls will be turned to stone and won't work anymore."
"They're connected," said Mira with a surprising look. "But if they were one being? Then how did they get separated?"
"One day, Kami felt that the life of the guardian before him was coming to an end. He traveled to the lookout. A place high in the sky where the Guardian of Earth lives. And tried to become his successor. But the current guardian of that time turned his back on Kami."
"Why," said Wendy sadly.
"You see, a guardian's motives must be noble and pure. But the Guardian saw that there was a selfish desire in Kami for its power and control."
"I see. That makes sense though," said Gildarts with a thoughtful look. "If an evil being becomes a guardian. There's no telling what kind of disastrous things may happen."
They all nodded. "So, what happened to Kami after that," asked Levi curiously.
"Kami, through harsh meditation was able to release the evil that resided in his heart. That evil became King Piccolo."
"I see," said Marakov sadly. "Kami must have gone through a lot. Separating your evil intentions from your own body is a difficult process. Not many are capable of such a feat."
"You are correct," said Malia. "It took many years before Kami was able to release the evil that was in his heart. Now then? Shall we continue with the reaction?"
The fairy tail members nodded.
Goku's friends were surprised by Piccolo's words.
"I can't think of anyone else capable of such a thing. He's probably come up with some sort of meddling plan just like always."
"A plan, huh," said Natsu with a smile. "That's a good thing, isn't it?"
The mages nodded at that.
"I wonder what he's up to," said Krillin curiously.
"Well, if Goku isn't safe with the Guardian of Earth. He's not safe anywhere," said Master Roshi.
"They sure trust Kami a lot, don't they," said Lisanna with a smile.
Mira chuckled. "Well, he is the Guardian of the Earth for a reason."
Krillin picked Gohan's hat that had a Dragon ball on top of it. "All the same. We need to start gathering up the other six Dragon balls so we can wish Goku back to life right away."
Erza nodded with a smile. "That is an excellent plan. They need all the help they can get if they want to prepare against those other Saiyans. And Goku is the strongest among them if you don't include Piccolo."
"True enough," said Laxus with a frown. "But will it be enough to face those Saiyans?"
Gildarts sighed. "Guess to find out for sure is to keep watching."
"Yeah, but we're going to need all the help we can get. And of course, Yamcha is out running around who knows where, said Bulma with a frown."
Krillin gave Bulma a deadpanned look. "Well, you were the one who chased him off."
"Oh my," said Mira with a chuckle. "Relationship troubles. That's interesting."
Lucy nodded. "This Yamcha must be Bulma's girlfriend."
"Say that reminds me. I've been curious about something," said Bulma. "How did Goku's brother manage to track him down so quickly?"
Piccolo answered."With that device he's wearing. Attached to his face. Apparently, it reads power levels and tracks their location."
"Oh, I really want to get my hands on one of those," said Levi with an exciting look.
Malia chuckled. "I'm more than happy to give you one. At least after the reaction."
Levi grinned. "Thank you, Malia. That would be great."
Bulma gave Gohan to Roshi. "Come here, Krillin."
The bald man nodded. He also gave the hat with the Dragon ball to his master.
"Hold this," said Krillin.
The two friends of Goku walked toward the dead body of Raditz.
"What are they planning to do," said Gajeel confused.
Levi grinned. She knew what the two were up to.
"Okay," said Bulma. "Now see if you can get that thing off his face for me."
"Ewww," said Lucy disgusted. "They are planning to touch that?"
Levi snorted. "Cmon Lucy. Your overreacting. It's just a piece of machinery."
"Yeah. I know. But still. It has been attached to a corpse for a while now."
Krillin looked nervously at Bulma's words. "Yeah, sure. Whatever. But if he so much as twitches I'm out of there."
Gajeel snorted. "Don't be such a wimp, Krillin."
After Krillin took the device of Raditz's face and he gave it to Bulma. The blue-haired beauty took her tools from her pocket and opened the scouter with it.
"Wow, that looks very complex," said Mira surprised.
Levi grinned. She couldn't wait to take a crack at it herself.
"That's good," said Bulma. "It looks like it still has power at least. Wow, this is some cutting-edge stuff. It's a little banged up. But I think I may be able to do something with it."
"She must be quite the genius if she's able to figure out how that thing works," said Marakov with a grin. "And she is quite the beauty also."
Gildarts chuckled with a blush. "No kidding. Have you seen those legs, old man?"
Marakov grinned perversely. "That I have my boy."
They suddenly were interrupted by a fearsome aura. They looked at the source. And they saw Mira with a dangerous aura around her. And to make it had a sweet smile on her face.
"Master, Gildarts. Behave yourselves would you?"
The two powerful mages turned white in the face. They nodded nervously.
"Good," said Mira with a smile. Her dangerous aura had disappeared.
"You really think so? That's awesome Bulma," said Krillin with a smile.
"Well, I haven't actually fixed it yet. I need some time to figure it out first. But if I can get it working, we can use it to find Yamcha, Tien, and all the others."
"Way to go, bloomers," said Natsu with a grin.
"Uh, Natsu. The girl's name is Bulma. Not bloomers," said Lucy with a sweatdrop.
"Oh, right," said the dragon slayer with an embarrassed chuckle.
"In any case, I think we should head back home," said Master Roshi. "You can work there."
"Yeah right," said Bulma with a nod. "I guess there's not much else we can do here."
"No, there isn't," said Erza with a nod. "You'll have to start fixing that device and find the rest of the Dragon Balls."
The mages nodded at that.
Krillin had a determined look on his face. "Okay. We get you guys back to Roshi's place. Then I'm going to start looking for the Dragon Balls."
Erza nodded with a smile. "Very good, Krillin."
"What are your plans in the meantime, Piccolo," asked Master Roshi.
They suddenly got frightened when they saw Piccolo grunting. It looked like he was planning to attack them.
"Oh, crap," said Gray with a worried look. "Is he planning to kill them?"
All the mages couldn't respond to that.
"I hope not," said Wendy with a sad look.
She had come to like Piccolo's character. Sure, he may sound grumpy all the time. But deep down, the sky-dragon slayer had a feeling that he just wanted to have a friend.
But there was no need for concern. A few seconds later they found out why Piccolo was grunting.
A new arm suddenly grew back from Piccolo's stump. All the mages were green in the face when they saw that. Except for Natsu and Erza. They found it fascinating.
"Wow, so cool," said Natsu with a grin.
"Interesting," said Erza with a smile. "That's certainly a handy ability to have."
Krillin screamed in fright when he saw it.
"Just like a lizard's tail," said Krillin with a nervous chuckle. "
"You should start looking for the Dragon balls immediately. Wherever Goku is now, he still needs you to wish him back to life."
The mages nodded at that. Without the Dragon balls, they couldn't wish him back. So they need to stop wasting time and start looking for them.
Suddenly Piccolo smirked. "But, you'll leave Goku's son with me. I'll be taking him from here."
"What," said Mira shocked. "Why would Piccolo want to take," Gohan.
Laxus frowned. He had a good idea why. But he didn't say anything because he wanted to be sure.
"What are you going to do with him," said Bulma a bit frightened.
"How powerful that boy becomes depends almost entirely on whether or not he receives the proper training. One year from now two more Saiyans will arrive on Earth. When that day comes, we need him to be ready."
"But he's just a child. No matter how strong he might be for his age. You can't expect a boy who is only four years old to be ready to fight in a dangerous battle like this," said Mira with an angry look.
All the mages had different opinions. Some agreed with Mira's words. And some of them said that Gohan needed to fight.
Erza suddenly spoke. "Normally I would agree with you, Mira. But, in this case. Gohan is their best bet for survival."
Mira couldn't believe what she was hearing. "Why would you say that?"
"Goku and Piccolo could not even touch Raditz. It was only thanks to Gohan's formidable strength they were able to beat him. His attack weakened Raditz. And yes, he is still a child. Normally I wouldn't even recommend it. But if Gohan learns to control his power. He will be a valuable asset."
Erza took a deep breath.
"But, on the other hand. The life that Gohan has lived until now is a sheltered one. Frankly, I don't know if he has what it takes to become a warrior."
Mira frowned. "What are you saying? You don't think that Gohan can become stronger?"
Erza shrugged her shoulders. "Not really no. I mean he is quite spoiled. And cries all the time. Frankly, I think it's better to keep him of the battlefield entirely."
Mira glared at Erza. "I'm pretty sure Gohan has what it takes to become a strong warrior."
"Really," said Erza with a thoughtful look. "I'm not so sure about that. I think Gohan just isn't suited to become a warrior."
"You'll see. I believe Gohan will become a lot stronger," said Mira with a frown.
"Sure, maybe when he is a bit older," said Erza. "But they only have a year to train before the Saiyans arrive. I don't think he will be ready to fight them. I think he should wait before he starts his training," said Erza with a grin.
Mira glared even harder. "You'll see. Gohan will become very strong in the next year. And he will kick those Saiyan's asses."
Erza smiled with a nod. "Very well you have convinced me. I think it's a good idea to let Piccolo train Gohan."
Mira nodded at first. But then she suddenly realized that Erza was using reversed psychology on her.
Mira pouted. "Erza, you cheated. You can't use reversed psychology on me."
Erza chuckled. "Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Anyway. Let's just see how it turns out. Besides, there is nothing we can do about it anyway."
Mira sighed but nodded.
All the mages had a sweatdrop on their heads. "What the hell just happened?"
"There is little time and much to learn. So for the next year. He's with me," said Piccolo.
Krillin smiled nervously. "Wow, you're really serious, aren't you?"
"A year? Don't you need a parent's signature for that," said Bulma equally nervous.
"Let's see. Goku is gone. But I guess we could ask Chichi," said Roshi a bit frightened.
"They all are acting like a bunch of wimps," said Gajeel with a frown.
"Yeah. I'm surprised they haven't pissed their pants yet," said Laxus with a snort.
"They're not acting like real men," said Elfman.
"Brother," said Lisanna with a sigh. "Bulma is a girl."
"Look I don't have time for this nonsense. I'm not asking for your permission. I'm taking the boy with me. By force, if I have to," said Piccolo with a glare.
Mira frowned at that. She really didn't like this. But there was nothing she could do.
Piccolo raised two fingers up into the air. Gohan's body began to levitate from Roshi's hands and flew towards Piccolo. The green man grabbed the boy with his left hand.
"Telekinesis," said Marakov amazed. "That's certainly a rare ability to have."
"Yeah. Makes you wonder what other sort of abilities they have," said Gildarts.
"Once the year is up and his training is complete. I'll bring him back. But not a day before. When you wish Goku back to life tell him he can look forward to seeing his son again when he returns."
Lucy sighed. "Honestly, I don't think Goku would mind Gohan having some kind of training."
Natsu nodded with a grin. "Hey, this is good for the kid. Igneel trained me too when I was younger."
Gajeel nodded. "Yeah. And besides. The kid is pampered way to much. A bit of exercise will help him out a lot."
Mira frowned at that. She had to admit. Gohan was a bit sheltered. And scared quite easily. But he was only four, so that was to be expected. Mira sighed. Maybe this training will be good for Gohan. She just was worried about Piccolo's training methods. But there was nothing she could do anyway. So she might as well just watch.
"Wow. This is bad, really bad. Isn't it," said Bulma scared.
"Gohan is gonna die. Of worse turn out like Piccolo," said Krillin with a nervous look.
"Aaaah," said Happy with a terrifying look. "Gohan's going to get eaten and turn green."
Natsu tried to calm his buddy down. "Don't worry Happy, I'm sure Gohan will be alright."
The scene changed towards a beautiful-looking castle with green roofs and horns sticking out. One on each side. The sky was a beautiful pink color.
"Wow, what a gorgeous place," said Lucy with a smile. "I really love the sky."
"Of course, you would," said Natsu with a grin. "Pink is your color, right?"
Lucy chuckled in embarrassment.
The scene changed again. This time, they saw a huge desk with a tall pink demon-looking man behind it. In front of him stood two figures. One looked to be an older-looking Piccolo. But the other one, they recognized immediately.
"It's Goku," said Erza with a smile.
The others sighed in relief. He was alright.
"Wait," said Natsu confused. "Didn't he die? How come he's still alive."
Mira suddenly noticed something.
She chuckled. "Well, he may have his body. But he certainly is dead. Look above his head."
When other mages looked closely at Goku's head, they gasped in surprise. Above his head floated a golden halo.
Canna grinned. "He looks adorable with it."
Suddenly the man that looked like an older Piccolo began to speak.
"And that is why this young man stands before you today. To make this one request. All he asked is to be trained. On his behalf, I beg you to allow him to call upon King Kai for guidance."
"Training," said Gray intrigued. "I wonder what kind."
"King Kai, huh," said Erza with a thoughtful look. "I wonder who that is?"
"I just want to know where they are," said Gajeel curious. "Looks like a fancy palace."
The big man began to speak. "Mmm. Goku, huh? I'm looking at his file, and it's certainly impressive."
The mages smiled at that.
"So let me get this straight, even if this friend of yours is a shoo-in to get into heaven. He still wants to risk snake way just to meet with King Kai for training?"
All the mages had their mouths wide open. This was the afterlife?
"Oh my," said Mira with a surprised look. "That certainly is a surprise. But I guess it makes sense in a way."
Lucy nodded. "Yeah, Goku did die after all."
"Yes sir," said the green man.
"Hey. So this is the place everyone comes when they die, isn't it," asked Goku.
"That's right," said the older-looking Piccolo.
"Aliens too," asked Goku curiously.
"Yes. Every living being human or not comes here to be judged and learn where they spent their afterlife."
Wendy smiled. "I hope Bardock and Gine made it to heaven."
Lucy sighed. "Gine maybe. But, Bardock. I'm not so sure. He did a lot of bad things when he was alive."
Mira frowned sadly. "Yes. That's true."
Suddenly Goku asked a question towards the big man.
"Yo. Did a big guy named Raditz show up here a little bit before us?"
"Goku, you do not address King Yemma with a yo," said the green man sternly.
Everyone laughed at that.
Lucy wiped away her tears. "Well, that settles it. Goku really does act like Natsu."
Lisanna nodded. "Now Goku only needs to have the same table manners as him, and they are practically twins."
"Heyyy," said Natsu with a pout. "I so do have table manners."
"Yeah, right flame brain. In your dreams, maybe, said Gray with a snort.
"Shut up ice princess. And how many times you're going to strip today? Put some damm clothes on."
"Oh dammit not again."
"Yeah, I remember him," said King Yemma. "Says here he was your older brother. Now he's on his way to hell. Go figure."
The mages smirked at that.
"He give you any trouble," ask Goku.
"He certainly did. Well tried. But I knocked some sense into him, and he settled down."
Natsu grinned. "Wow, this big guy is awesome. And he must be pretty strong too."
Laxus nodded. "Well, he is the one who judges people when they die. So that must come with the job description."
"Wow," said Goku amazed. "And Raditz was tough. You must be really strong."
King Yemma smiled at that.
"Hey. Maybe I should stick around and train with the big guy," said Goku towards the green man.
Natsu nodded. "That's true. If the big guy could easily defeat Raditz. Then he must be a good training partner for Goku."
Suddenly, Lucy figured something out. "Hey, that green man. He looks a lot like Piccolo doesn't he?"
The mages nodded at that.
"So this might be Kami. The guardian of Earth."
All the mages slapped their heads at their stupidity. "Of course, no wonder he looks like Piccolo," said Levi with sigh. "He did say that it was Kami who brought Goku here."
"Shhh," said Kami. "Keep your voice down. We have to show King Yemma the proper respect."
"Good luck telling him that," said Lisanna with a chuckle. "He gets way too excited sometimes, just like Natsu."
Lucy nodded with a grin.
Natsu blushed in embarrassment.
Kami suddenly came close to Goku's ear. "Just keep quiet. Trust me. King Kai is much stronger."
"Hey," said King Yemma who looked to be offended. "What was that? Kami of the Earth."
"What? Uh," said Kami afraid.
"You shouldn't talk that way about someone who can send you to hell."
All the fairy tail members chuckled at the scene.
"Oh, you heard that," said Kami nervously. "You must have the devil's own ears sir. The devil himself. Appropriate, huh," said Kami with a silly laugh.
Natsu began to laugh loudly. "This guy is hilarious."
Mira chuckled. "He certainly is a funny character."
"Kami, you think you're funny, don't you," said King Yemma with a frown.
"Aye," said Happy. "He's is very funny."
Wendy chuckled. "Very much so."
"No," said the guardian with an embarrassed blush.
"Fine," said King Yemma with a sigh. "If you want it that badly. Take snake way to King Kai."
Kami smiled in relief. "Thank you, your greatness," said Kami with a bow.
"Snake way, huh," said Gray with a thoughtful look. "I wonder why it's called that way?"
Gajeel shrugged his shoulders. "Guess we will have to watch and see for ourselves."
"I'll summon a guide for you. Just go right outside and wait."
Goku smiled. "Thanks."
"However. If you fall off snake way. I don't want you to come crying back to me."
"I wonder what he means by that," said Lucy confused.
Erza frowned. "I don't know. But it certainly doesn't sound good."
"Uh, okay," said Goku confused.
"Goku, have a safe journey. This will be a most challenging year for you."
"Wait," said Levi surprised. "This training trip will last a year. But the others will wish Goku back soon."
Mira frowned. "This isn't good. Goku has to contact the others somehow to tell them that they have to wait a year before they can wish him back."
"I'm sure it will work out just fine," said Marakov with a smile.
"Well, I'm not sure what you mean by that. But if this King Kai is as strong as you say he is. Then I'm sure it will be worth the trip," said Goku with a grin.
"Indeed. But he has only a year. Will it be enough time though," said Freed with a thoughtful look.
Bickslow shrugged his shoulders. "Guess we will find out for ourselves soon enough."
"See you soon," said Goku with a wave. "And say hi to Mr. Popo for me."
All the mages were confused.
Who the hell is Mr. Popo, said Elfman confused.
Malia chuckled. Mr. Popo is an immortal Genie. He serves as the attendant to Earth's Guardian. He also tends the grounds of the Lookout.
All mages nodded at that.
Goku ran outside and waved one last time at Kami. "Bye."
The mage suddenly could hear Kami's worrying thoughts.
"The Earth has drawn the attention of some of the most despicable beings the Universe has to offer. If something isn't done soon. We can find ourselves into a lot of trouble."
Marakov sighed sadly at that. "True enough. These Saiyan warriors are certainly powerful. And then there's also that Frieza character that blew up planet Vegeta."
Gildarts nodded. "Something tells me that we will see him soon enough. Especially if he finds out about the Dragon Balls."
The mages continued to listen to Kami.
"What can we do? We can try to wish our enemies away. But even the great Shenron might be powerless against their tremendous strength."
Natsu frowned at that. "Awww. I thought that green dragon was strong. But if he can't even defeat those Saiyans. Then he must be not that powerful."
Lucy sighed. "I guess it depends entirely on how strong the creator is."
"Goku is the greatest warrior the Earth has ever known. Yet to these Saiyans he's nothing more than an inconvenience. I wonder if King Kai's instruction will even help."
Erza frowned sadly at Kami's words. "He's right about that, unfortunately. Goku is strong in his own right. But against those barbarians. He has to become a lot stronger to stand a chance."
"Yes, that is true," said Lucy sadly. "Let's hope that this training with that King Kai person will be enough"
"Until Goku returns. It seems Gohan is our best hope. He's young though. And there's so little time."
Mira sighed sadly at that. It isn't fair. To put all their hope on a little child. Who barely has any martial arts or fighting experience"
Wendy nodded. "That's true. Gohan reminds me of myself when I was younger and traveled Fiore with Mystogan. I was quite timid back then. And I relied on Mystogan's help a lot."
Erza gave Wendy a pet on the head. "But you have become very strong after all you've been through. And I'm sure that Gohan will too."
Wendy blushed at the praise that Erza gave her.
On the screen. "King Yemma got annoyed by Kami's antics.
"That's enough. Go home. I've got work to do."
"Forgive me your greatness. Of course, you're busy. I'll just be getting out of your way now," said Kami nervously.
"Poor Kami," Lisanna with a chuckle.
The other mages chuckled as well.
The scene changed toward a red vehicle that was riding on a purple road, with yellow fluffy clouds surrounding it as far as the eye could see.
"What a beautiful place," said Mira with a smile.
In the vehicle were Goku and a blue man with horns and glasses.
"He looks funny," said Happy with a chuckle.
"Terrible sorry for the wait," said the blue man towards Goku. "But don't you worry I'll get you to the head of snake way before you know it. You're in good hands with me."
"He sure is friendly," said Lucy with a smile.
"Yeah," said Levi with a grin. "And I like his horns. They are adorable."
"So, snake way is very long and extremely treacherous. What kind of shape are you in? Good?"
"Treacherous," said Wendy in fright. "That doesn't sound good."
Natsu smirked. "Hey, this will be good training for Goku. So I'll say, bring on the danger."
Lucy sighed at that.
Goku, who was looking through the window with marvel in his eyes at the scenery. Looked at the blue guide and spoke.
"Me, no. I mean I was pretty healthy when I was alive. But I don't think so now that I'm dead."
Erza chuckled at Goku's words.
"Hey, what's King Kai like? You've met him before, right?"
"Oh, sure. Lots of times. He's surprisingly down to Earth considering he rules over every other deity in this region of the universe."
All the mages were surprised at that. "Wow, this King Kai must be something else," said Gajeel with an amazing look.
"Oh, man," said Natsu with an excited grin. "This guy must be super strong. I can't wait to see what he looks like."
Goku had the same feeling as Natsu. "He must be strong. I can't wait."
"It's really funny to see how you and Goku are almost alike in terms of personality," said Lucy with a grin.
Natsu smiled. Yeah, I know what you mean. Hard to believe there is someone else out there who loves to eat and fight as much as me.
That's where the similarities end though. "Goku is at least ten times smarter than Natsu."
Canna nodded with a smirk. "And he's 10 times more good-looking."
Natsu frowned at the two mages.
But suddenly everyone felt a chill in the air. Natsu looked at the source. And he got chills. Lucy was looking at Gray and Canna with a fearsome look. Her magical energy began to rise to extremely high heights.
"Are you two calling my Natsu dumb and ugly," said Lucy. The blond Celestial mage began to crack her knuckles.
The two mages suddenly got white in the face. They saw Lucy act like this before.
"N-no, of course not, Lucy," said Gray with a nervous smile.
"Wouldn't dream of it," said Canna a bit frightened.
Lucy's magic energy began to settle down. "Good," said Lucy triumphant look.
Erza and Mira had a very proud look on their face.
All the other mages chuckled nervously at the display.
After a while, the vehicle suddenly stopped.
"Here we are. Snake way," said the blue man.
Goku who had fallen asleep opened his eyes.
"Exit to your left. Watch your step." said the blue man as he stepped out of the red vehicle.
All the mages chuckled at the man's professional way of talking.
Goku's eyes widened at what he saw. And he wasn't the only one.
Happy hid behind Natsu. "Aaah, a snake. Natsu, help me."
Natsu chuckled. "Relax buddy. It's only made of some kind of stone. It can't hurt ya."
"Oh," said the little cat embarrassed.
"I guess now we know why it's called snake way," said Gray.
"Wow, so this is snake way, huh?"
"Yes indeed."
"It's certainly is magnificent in appearance," said Evergreen with a smile.
"Yeah. This road has been built by an extremely gifted artist," said Freed.
"What am I supposed to do now," asked Goku curious.
"Just start walking. You'll want to take snake way all the way to the very end. That's where you'll find King Kai."
"Sounds simple enough," said Laxus.
"Yeah, I thought it would be more treacherous," said Gajeel with a confused look.
Goku walked on top of the snake's head.
"Sure is long, huh?"
"Yes. In fact, according to legends snake way is about a million miles end to end."
"A MILLION MILES," yelled Goku shocked.
"Wow, that's certainly a long way," said Lisanna with a nervous chuckle.
"Yeah, no kidding," said Canna, with a sweatdrop.
Natsu shrugged his shoulders. "Meh, doesn't sound that bad to me."
"Of course, you would say that," said Lucy with a sigh.
"Has anyone ever made it the whole way," asked Goku curiously?
"Only one in the last one hundred million years. It was the great King Yemma himself if my memory serves me."
"Well, that's certainly a surprise," said Marakov with a thoughtful look. "Goku sure has his work cut out for him."
They all nodded at that.
"The big guy from before? Well, I guess if there's one person who's already made it all the way to the end. Then I might be able to manage it too."
"That's the spirit, Goku," said Erza with a smile. "Release your inner strength. And go for victory."
"Aye," said Happy with a cheer.
"It's possible," said the guide. "But please be careful not to fall of into the clouds. Hell lies beneath those clouds, and once you go there, you can never come back."
"Oh dear," said Mira worriedly. "That certainly isn't good."
"Yeah, Goku better be careful. And makes sure that he doesn't fall off from snake way," said Canna with a frown.
All the mages nodded at that.
"Really, wow," said Goku surprised. "Oh hey, what do I eat? Maybe I should have packed a lunch or something?"
"Goku," said Lucy annoyed. "This isn't the time to be thinking about food."
Natsu grinned. "Hey, he's right. A guy's gotta eat."
"Oh, I'm sure you'll be fine," said the guide with a smile. "Think of it this way. You're already dead. So the chances of you dying of starvation is slim at best."
Goku chuckled. "Oh yeah."
"Well, that's one way how to look at it," said Lisanna with a chuckle.
"Bye," said the blue guide.
"Wait, I almost forgot. I have a favor to ask you," asked Goku.
"Yes?"
"Well, do you know who Fortuneteller Baba is?"
"Fortuneteller Baba," said Gajeel with a chuckle. "What a weird name."
Levi sighed at her boyfriend's behavior.
"Yes sir. She comes by to say hello once in a while."
"Okay great," said Goku with a smile. "Think you can tell her something for me? Tell her I need her to go see Master Roshi and give him an important message. I want him to know that whatever happens, he can't bring me back for a year."
Marakov smiled. "See, I told you everything would turn out okay in that regard."
"Yes, fortunately," said Mira with a smile.
"I do wonder what this Baba person looks like," said Gray with a thoughtful look.
The guide took out a small notebook and a pen. "Let's see if I got all this. Don't bring Goku back to life. You said Master Roshi, right?"
After the guide had written everything down. Goku began to begin his preparations to begin his journey.
"I guess I should get started. So the only trick is to not fall off the snake, right?"
"Yes, Goku. That certainly will not be pleasant," said Mira with a chuckle.
Laxus grinned. "Hey, you have to admit. He doesn't show any fear of falling into hell. That shows he has a lot of courage."
"Right, that would be bad," said the guide.
"That will be a breeze," said Goku with a smile.
He jumped off the snake's head and flew along the road of snake way.
"Oh, man," said Natsu with stars in his eyes. "I really want to learn how to fly also. That looks so cool. And I won't have to use those dead contraptions called trains anymore to go on requests."
The dragon slayer turned towards Canna.
"Hey, you mind if I go with you to see Goku after this reaction is over?"
Canna shrugged her shoulders. "Sure, I don't mind. Just make sure you don't puke along the way."
"An excellent idea Natsu," said Erza with a smile. "I will join you."
Canna frowned at that. "Dammit. I hope she doesn't plan to meddle in my affairs," thought the card-mage.
The scene changed towards a mountain area with a small pond. Piccolo landed into the pond with Gohan, who he carried with his left arm.
"Gohan," said Mira sadly. "I hope he's going to be okay."
"I'm sure he will," said Lucy. "At least, I hope so."
Piccolo took Gohan with his right hand and held him in front of him.
"Alright, I let you sleep long enough kid. Now wake up. It's time to start your training."
But the boy didn't wake up.
"Oh, boy. He's a heavy sleeper," said Gildarts with a grin.
Piccolo got annoyed. And he threw the boy into the pond.
"YOU BASTARD," yelled Mira. "HE'S GOING TO DROWN."
"Calm down. It's only to wake him up," said Erza.
"Well he could have done it in a gentler way said Mira with a frown.
The method certainly worked. The boy suddenly woke up from his nap and began to cough out water.
"We have to talk. Get out of the water," said Piccolo with a stern look.
But the boy of four got scared when he saw Piccolo.
"You're not my daddy. Daddy? Where are you daddy," said Gohan with a frightened look.
"Poor Gohan," said Lucy sadly.
"Daddy? Daddy come here, I'm scared."
The boy began to run circles around the pond.
"Be brave, Gohan," said Erza sad look.
Gohan began to cry even harder.
"Daddy. Where are you?"
Mira's heart went out to the poor boy. He was only a scared little child. Who wanted his father for protection.
Piccolo glared at Gohan. "Spoiled little brat. We don't have time for this."
He grabbed the boy by the scruff of his neck. And took him to dry land.
"Dammit, Piccolo. Stop treating Gohan so roughly," said Mira with a frown.
"Well, you have to admit," said Laxus. "He sure gets scared easily. And he cries a lot."
Mira frowned at that. "I know that. But treating him like this. He could at least be a bit more gentle."
But that wasn't how Piccolo operated. He snapped when Gohan kept crying.
"SHUT UP! If you don't stop that crying, I'll snap you in half."
All the mages sighed at that.
"Piccolo really doesn't know how to handle a child," Lisanna said with a frown.
Mira was gritting her teeth in anger. But to all of the mages' surprise. Gohan's crying stopped entirely.
"Now listen up. I'm only going to say this once. First, you're daddy was killed today."
"Piccolo, you moron," said Mira with a glare. "You don't say that so bluntly."
"He really has no way with kids," said Lisanna with a sigh.
Gohan's eyes widened at that.
"You remember some of what happened don't you," said Piccolo. "In order to defeat the man who took you. Your father sacrificed himself."
Everyone sighed sadly at that.
"No, he can't be," said Gohan who was on the verge of tears again.
"Stop. Stop right now. I already warned you what would happen if you cried again," said Piccolo with an angry tone in his voice.
Gildarts frowned at Piccolo. He really didn't like how he was acting towards Gohan.
Mira's magic power began to rise sharply.
All the male mages swallowed nervously.
"Now I'm sure you're father already told you about the Dragon Balls at some point. His friends are currently trying to gather all seven in the hopes of bringing him back to life."
"Well, that is a moot point actually," said Juvia with a sweatdrop. "But at least they are gathering them. So when the time comes. They can wish Goku back immediately."
"That's true," said Gray with a nod
"However, that is their mission, not ours. You're father, and I were able to defeat the man who kidnapped you. But before he died, he alerted two other Saiyans who will reach Earth in one year. And we have reason to believe they're even stronger than he was. If that's true, even Goku can't stop them. Not even if I were to help him."
"He makes a good point," said Laxus. "Though it all depends on how much stronger Goku will become in the end."
"True enough," said Gajeel. "If Goku's training turns out well. The kid might not be needed to fight."
Erza frowned. "But if the training doesn't work out. Then they'll need Gohan's strength."
Mira sighed sadly at that. It was all up to fate. The only thing she could do was watch.
"But if you could be trained. Your strength may give us the edge we need."
"But, I don't. I couldn't. I'm too little. I don't even know how to fight," said Gohan worried.
"Don't worry kid," said Natsu with a smile. "You're stronger than you think."
"Yeah, that's certainly true," said Levi.
She thought back to that moment when Gohan got angry and gave that evil Saiyan Raditz a harsh headbutt in his stomach. That was certainly something else for a kid who was barely four.
"That's enough. I can see that you are blind to your potential. Though you may not believe it. You are incredibly strong. But you're still in need of training. So, it's my job to help you find that strength."
Lucy smiled. "Well, it looks like Piccolo is apparently a good teacher, after all."
Mira nodded in hesitation. "Yes, maybe you are right."
"But I can't. I'm not as strong as you think," said Gohan sadly.
Piccolo suddenly smirked. "You want me to prove it?"
"What is he planning to do now," said Mira with a frown.
Suddenly, Piccolo grabbed Gohan by his head and picked him up.
"Hey, what are you doing? Stop it. Put me down. Let me go, let me go. Daddy, somebody. Help me."
Mira gritted her teeth. "Why that idiot. What the hell is that moron planning to do now?"
"I take it back," said Lucy with a glare. "He's a horrible teacher."
All the mages could only watch how Piccolo threw Gohan with amazing speed towards a huge mountain.
"Dammit," said Gray. "I get it he needs training. But this is going too far."
Erza clenched her fists. She really hoped that Piccolo knew what he was doing. But this. How would this help Gohan?
Mira had tears in her eyes when she saw Gohan fly through the air towards that huge mountain.
"He will get killed."
They suddenly heard Piccolo's thoughts. "Do it. Release your power. Let's see what you got?"
"That moron," said Lucy with a glare. "Just because he threw Gohan at a mountain that doesn't necessarily mean he will release his strength."
But suddenly, something happened that made all the mages widen their eyes.
Gohan in his flight suddenly stretched his arms. His whole body began to glow with energy.
"What the hell is happening to Gohan," said Mira in shock.
Erza grinned. "I think we're about to find out."
And they did. An enormous white beam of energy fired from Gohan's body. And it struck the huge mountain. When the explosion ended, and the dust had settled. Each member of fairy tail had their mouth wide open. And their eyes widened as saucers.
The whole mountain was gone. And the destruction the blast left went on for miles.
Natsu was the first one who came out of his shocked state.
"T-that was. SO AWESOME."
"GOHAN IS A REAL MAN," said Elfman with a grin.
"Unbelievable," said Marakov. "To think that a child is capable of such destruction."
Marakov turned toward the ace of his guild.
"If he learns to control that power he might even turn out stronger than you."
Gildarts chuckled nervously. "Yeah, no kidding."
"Unbelievable," said Erza in awe. "What amazing potential this boy has."
Mira was in shock. She knew that Gohan was strong for a child. The battle with Raditz had shown that. But this? This was beyond incredible.
Lucy chuckled nervously. "Well, Gohan certainly is something else."
Wendy had stars in her eyes. "He is so strong."
Canna swallowed nervously. "Damm, that kid is powerful."
Gray nodded hesitantly. "Yeah, you could say that again."
But the mages weren't the only ones who were in shock. Piccolo was too.
"What the? How did he?"
"Wow, even Piccolo is surprised by Gohan's power," said Lisanna with a chuckle.
Laxus smirked. "Well, it's not surprising. You don't often see a boy who's only four release that kind of power."
They suddenly heard Piccolo's thoughts.
"Unbelievable. He's more powerful than I could have imagined. I'm not sure how I feel about this. To think I'm about to train the child who is likely to become my greatest adversary. I must be losing my mind."
Mira smirked. "Well, at least something came good out of it. Seeing Gohan's power has made him feel uncomfortable. That's a win for me."
Everyone chuckled at the take-over mages' words.
Gohan himself was amazed. "Wait. I didn't do that, did I?"
"You sure did kid," said Natsu with a grin and a thumbs up. "It was awesome."
"Aye," said Happy. "Gohan is really strong."
"That's right. It's time you realized your power. It appears your strength is closely linked to your emotions. You can't maintain it. Which isn't very convenient."
"That's true," said Erza. "Gohan somehow needs to control his powers. Otherwise, it will useless in battle."
"I know what you mean," said Gildarts. "But trust me. Learning to control such destructive power that Gohan has isn't easy. Especially since he is still so young. He won't be able to tap into his full strength until he's fully grown."
Malia chuckled. "Well, you're right about one thing. Gohan will not be able to control his full potential until he's sixteen."
"WHAT," said everyone shocked.
"But that can't be. Such destructive power. Your body has to be at least in your twenties to handle all of that raw power," said Gildarts confused.
"True, but you're forgetting something. Gohan isn't a human like you. He is a Saiyan. And their anatomy are completely different than humans. They have greater natural strength with more efficient muscles and more durable bone structure and have a physiology that is more resilient and has a better healing response and is adapted to withstand drastic changes in all kinds of harsh environments."
Everyone was amazed at that.
"So, you're telling us. That Saiyan's have no limits in how strong they can become," said Marakov with an amazing look.
Malia chuckled. "Well, you will all soon find out yourself. So why spoil the surprise. Let's continue the reaction shall we."
"We never defeat the Saiyans unless we correct it. Of course, we will. We're going to turn you into the greatest warrior this world has ever known. Got that?"
"Hey, if anyone can do it it's Gohan," said Natsu with a grin.
Erza nodded with a smile. "Right you are, Natsu. There is no doubt in my mind that Gohan will turn into a great warrior." Erza suddenly had a blush on her face. "Just like his father."
"Yes, sir. It's just, I don't wanna learn how to fight. Because I wanna study hard and be a scholar."
Natsu pouted at that. "Ah, cmon. What's so fun about being a scholar anyway."
Lucy chuckled. "Ah, Natsu. Let the boy have his dreams, okay?"
Erza sighed sadly. "Well, if he doesn't wish to fight in the future. That's his choice. And we have to respect that."
Mira nodded with a smile. "Yes, exactly right."
"Maybe you will," said Piccolo with a smile. "But you will have plenty of time for scholarly things once we are done defeating the Saiyans. We only have a year to prepare you to defend the planet with us. You don't want everyone on Earth to die, do you?"
"Way to pressure the kid, you moron," said Mira with a frown.
"Well, he does have a point," said Gajeel with a frown. "They need Gohan's power to help defend their planet. It might be a blunt way of saying it. But Gohan needs to understand the situation they are in."
Laxus sighed. "Well, that's true. But the kid has been sheltered all his life. It won't be so easy for him to adapt to this new lifestyle. Or Piccolo needs to do something drastic."
"No, but I'm scared," said Gohan.
"Stop you whining. Unless you want me to kill you right now," said Piccolo angrily.
"Like that for example," said Laxus with a sweatdrop.
"You stupid green slug," said Mira angrily. "Stop scaring Gohan."
"We don't have time for this. Your training has begun. Shut up and take off your tunic."
"Yeah, scare the kid some more why don't you. That certainly will help him listen to you," said Juvia with a sarcastic tone.
But to the mages their surprise. Gohan listened to Piccolo. "Fine. I'll do it. But just till daddy's back. Then I want him to teach me to fight instead of you."
Erza sighed sadly. "That certainly would be a better choice. But unfortunately, Goku is training in The afterlife. And won't return for another year."
Piccolo smirked. "Ah, that's too bad. Your dad may be powerful. But I doubt he be an effective teacher. He doesn't have any gut for command and respect. Which is why his son turned out to be such a snot-nose brat."
Erza, Canna, and Mira glared at the screen.
"Mira, you were right. That Piccolo is a bastard," said Erza with a frown.
"Amen to that, sister," said Mira.
The image changed towards Goku who sneezed.
"Bless you," said Lisanna with a grin. "Do you think he knows that someone is talking about him?"
"Knowing, Goku. I don't think so," said Lucy with a chuckle.
Goku landed tiredly on snake way. He breathed harshly. "Oh, man. That really took a lot out of me. Guess I just have to go on foot."
"Yeah, that probably would be better," said Gray. "He needs to conserve his energy if he wants to make it to King Kai."
"Yeah, your right about that," said Canna.
When Goku started running, the fairy tail members heard the storyteller in the background.
"And so, as his son prepares to face Piccolo's rigorous training back on Earth. Goku has begun his own perilous journey to reach the end of snake way. The race is on. Next time."
The screen turned black.
"Well everyone let's have another break shall we. We will continue with reacting after you had something to eat. Or maybe do something else."
They all nodded.
"Sounds good. I really need to use the bathroom for a while now," said Gray.
Canna sighed. "Gray. Your clothes."
"Dammit."
