Important Note: In this story, I will mostly follow the dragon ball kai series. But, for some scenes, I'm going to use the original Ocean dub. Just to let you know.
Chapter six: The end of Snake way. A fight against Gravity.
All the fairy tail members were finished with their break. And we're ready to continue with the reaction.
"Now then," said Malia. "Before we begin with this reaction. I wanted to let you all know that I decided to make a change."
The mages were confused.
"A change," said Lucy confused. "What kind?"
"Oh don't worry. It's nothing drastic or anything. From now on we begin with a small recap of what happened before. Just to make things more entertaining or dramatic."
Erza chuckled at that. "Well, I don't mind. A bit of entertainment or drama is never a bad thing."
"Yeah, sounds like fun," said Natsu.
All the mages agreed.
"Good, let begin, shall we?"
The screen started to show a few images of what happened last time. Most of Gohan's transformation and Piccolo destroying the moon and cutting Gohan's tail. The storyteller could be heard in the background.
"Last time, the first full moon Gohan had ever seen transformed him into a fearsome Saiyan ape."
"Yeah, that was certainly something else," said Lisanna nervously.
Marakov nodded. "The ability those Saiyans possess is quite remarkable and terrifying at the same time."
"In this wild and savage form. Gohan's power is posed a threat to friend and foe alike. So, to put an end to the rampage. Piccolo destroyed the moon."
Elfman frowned sadly at the storyteller's words. He clenched his fists. A poor kid who was only four years old had to go through the same thing as him when he was already in his teens. He just hoped now that the moon was gone and his tail cut off. Gohan won't be able to transform into that Great Ape. And be a danger to his family and friends.
Lucy sighed sadly. "Oh, that poor beautiful moon. Gone just like that."
Wendy nodded sadly.
"He then removed Gohan's tail. The source of his Saiyan power. Now after six short months, Gohan's real training begins today."
Mira took a deep breath. She just hoped that Gohan would be okay.
Erza smiled. "I'm really curious how much they all improved. And if Goku made it to King Kai yet."
"Yeah, me too," said Gray with only his boxers on.
Erza gained a tick mark. "GRAY! PUT ON SOME CLOTHES THIS INSTANT!"
Gray nodded in fright.
After the ice mage found his clothes, the screen showed the valley they all had come to know. It was early morning, and Gohan was sleeping on a pillar. His clothes were dirty and ripped in most places. And mages noticed he had become a lot sturdier.
Mira smiled happily. "Oh, look at him. He certainly has changed a lot."
"Yeah, he certainly has gained some muscle during those six months," said Gajeel with a grin.
Elfman smirked. "Yeah, Gohan has become a real man."
The boy woke up. When the yawned, his stomach started to growl suddenly.
"Food," said Gohan with a smile.
The boy took an empty coconut shell and put it on his head. The boy began to laugh loudly as he jumped from his sleeping place and did all sorts of crazy stunts without any fear in his eyes.
Mira smiled proudly at the young boy. Gohan still had innocent look in his eyes. But the timid and scared boy had vanished completely.
Natsu grinned. "Ha, look at him go. Looks like he's enjoying himself."
"Unbelievable," said Lucy with a surprised look. "Is that really the same Gohan from before? He's like a completely different person."
"I'll say," said Gray with a grin. "He isn't the same crybaby as before."
Erza smiled. "He certainly has become stronger."
The boy ran towards a tree with a lot of berries in it. Gohan jumped into the air and gave a strong kick to the bark of the tree. The force of the kick made all the berries fall. And Gohan began to gather them in his coconut shell until it was completely full.
Laxus chuckled. "Well look at that. The kid sure knows how to survive now."
"Impressive maneuverability," said Gildarts with a smile. "Gohan is certainly stronger than Natsu was at that age."
"Hey," said Natsu annoyed. "How can you be so sure? We hadn't had our first fight until I was eleven."
Gildarts chuckled. "You weren't that much stronger as Gohan is now. So it only makes sense of you being weaker than Gohan is around that age."
Natsu pouted but didn't say anything and continued watching. Gohan sat down on a rock and began munching on his berries. A sudden loud stumping noise was heard. And a huge shadow covered the boy. Gohan looked up while he was still chewing his berries. It was the same Dinosaur from six months ago.
"AAAH," screamed Happy in fright. "It's that ugly lizard again."
Erza suddenly noticed something different about the creature.
Where once was a huge tail. Only less than half was left of it. It looked like it was cut off by something sharp. Erza smiled. She had a good idea of who was responsible for it.
"Run Gohan," said Wendy with a worried look.
Gajeel chuckled. "Don't worry. I bet everything will be alright."
Gohan swallowed his food. And he looked at the creature with a boring look. "Oh, hi. It's you again. You're back for more huh?"
Levi was surprised at Gohan's nonchalant attitude. "Wow, looks like he really did change a lot. Not just on the outside."
Gajeel nodded with a grin. "Yeah, looks like all that surviving in the wilderness for six months has boosted his confidence by a lot too."
The giant lizard tried to attack the young boy. But either attempt was dodged by Gohan's incredible speed and reflexes.
"Hah, you missed me," said the boy while he was sticking out his tongue.
Canna laughed. "Hah, he's making a fool out of that giant lizard."
Lisanna giggled. "Gohan is acting like this is all just a fun game."
Natsu grinned. "I knew the kid would love this eventually."
Gohan jumped high into the air. By doing so, it made the dinosaur crashed into a huge rocky pillar. Gohan smiled while he was in the air. He grabbed the hilt of his sword and took it out of its scabbard.
"Okay, I'm gonna chop some meat from your tail now."
"Oooh, so he was the culprit that slashed off that Lizard's tail," said Marakov with a chuckle.
Erza nodded with a smile. "Yes, I had my suspicions about Gohan being the cause of that."
With amazing speed, the boy let himself fall downward and slashed off a big piece of the lizard's tail. Gohan pierced the piece of flesh with the tip of his sword.
Erza smiled proudly. "Well done, Gohan. He certainly shows promise in the art of wielding a blade."
Mira nodded with a smile. "Yes, he certainly does."
Gohan looked at the lizard in surprise. "Wow, looks like you'll be all out of tail pretty soon."
The creature only responded with some grunting noises. He looked to be in a lot of pain.
"Oh, that Poor lizard," said Wendy with a chuckle.
Gray grinned. "Hey if you're hungry you gotta eat. And it's not like Gohan has many options in the wild."
Gohan fired a small Ki blast on a wooden log to get a small fire going. He then held his sword with the piece of meat above it and began to cook his meat.
"Oh, man," said Natsu with a hungry look. "That meat looks so tasty."
Everyone sighed at the dragon slayer's words.
The screen suddenly showed Piccolo. Who was hovering above Gohan.
"Oh, it's Piccolo," said Wendy with a smile. "He must also be surprised by Gohan's progress."
Mira frowned but kept quiet.
"Good. He's improving faster than I thought," said Piccolo with a stoic look.
The screen suddenly changed towards the lookout where five people were standing. Two on the left and three on the right. The mages immediately recognized Krillin and Yajirobe. But the other three weren't people they saw before.
"Hey, those three must be Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu, right," said Lucy with a smile.
Laxus nodded. "Yeah, must be. I recognize that bald fellow with the three eyes. He faced Goku when he was still a kid."
Erza nodded at that. "Yeah, I remember now. He looks to be a strong individual."
Mira smiled at the small little child who was standing next to the three-eyed man.
"Awww, that little boy looks so adorable."
The girls nodded at that.
Natsu grinned. "Hey, that guy on the other side looks almost like Goku. Except for the scar and his hair."
Canna gave the man a detailed look. She snorted. The man may be cute. But he wasn't nearly as handsome as Goku.
"The man with three eyes is Tien. And small little boy beside him is Chiaotzu," said Malia.
"That must mean that the man with the scar is Yamcha, right," asked Lisanna.
"Correct," said Malia.
Yamcha smirked. "Tell you what. With all of us fighting together like this. Those Saiyans don't stand a chance in hell."
Natsu grinned. "Finally. Somebody who isn't afraid of a good fight."
"Yeah, but he sure has a cocky attitude," said Lucy with a sweatdrop.
Tien nodded. "That's right. We'll be ready for them. Especially after we trained with Kami."
"Well, one thing is certain. Those two are certainly confident in their ability to win," said Lisanna with a chuckle.
Gildarts sighed. "Confidence is one thing. But overconfidence can get you killed on the battlefield."
Marakov nodded at that.
The scene changed to the wasteland where Gohan stood in front of Piccolo.
"I guess Gohan's real training is about to begin," said Gray with a frown.
Gajeel nodded. "Yeah, looks like it."
"Hmph, you managed to survive for six months. I can see you learned a lot in that time."
"He sure did," said Natsu with a grin. "Gohan is a tough little kid."
Erza nodded with a smile. "The amount of progress he has made in such a short amount of time is certainly impressive. Especially for someone who has been sheltered so much."
"But, you're still not a fighter. Your real training begins now. Ready?"
Gohan suddenly rushed forward at Piccolo with fast speed. He began to attack Piccolo with a series of punches and kicks.
"Yeah, that's the way Gohan," said Natsu with a grin. "Keep going, little buddy."
Happy began mimicking Gohan's attacks with his small paws.
"Pow, pow," said Happy with a grin. "Stick it to him Gohan."
Lucy sighed at the two. "You guys always get way overexcited."
Piccolo dodged each blow with ease. And countered the boy's attacks with a single sweep of his right arm that made Gohan flew away in pain.
"GOHAN," yelled Mira worriedly. "Please be okay."
"What's wrong," said Piccolo with a laugh.
Gohan easily recovered and began to resume his attacks. But Piccolo suddenly vanished from sight and appeared behind the small boy. He struck the boy with a strong right kick that made him fly a few meters away from his opponent
"Piccolo certainly has improved in terms of speed," said Laxus with a thoughtful look.
Marakov nodded at his grandson's words. "Yes, he certainly did. I say he might be on the same level as Raditz in terms of speed. But strength-wise, I'm not too sure. Since I don't think he's fighting with his full power."
"Never lose sight of your target," said Piccolo sternly.
"Cmon, Piccolo. Give the kid a break," said Levi with a frown. "He isn't used to fighting a skilled warrior like you."
Lucy nodded. "For real. It's a surprise that Gohan is even capable of enduring all of those attacks."
Well, Gohan is a Saiyan after all, said Gray with a thoughtful look. "Maybe that's why he's so durable."
"I couldn't see you. You were moving too fast."
"Your eyes will lie. Try to feel it out."
Erza nodded at that. "He's right. On the battlefield, your senses are probably the most important thing to have."
Gildarts nodded. "Correct. As Piccolo said before. Your eyes can trick you. So it's important to learn how to sense your opponent's movements. Most wizards do this by utilizing their magic power to enhance their speed and sight."
Gohan stood up and held his head in pain. "I did feel it. That's the problem."
All the mages chuckled at Gohan's attempt to tell a joke. But Piccolo wasn't amused and fired lasers from his eyes at the boy. The boy got electrocuted by the small beams and fell down comically.
Mira clenched her fists. Her magical power began to rise. But she took a deep breath and calmed down.
"Yikes, that has to hurt," said gray.
Laxus snorted. "Nah, that was just a small shock. He probably did that, so Gohan learns to keep his guard up."
The scene changed again at the lookout. The warriors were having a brawl with each other to increase their skills.
Tien was having a sparring match with Krillin. And Yamcha was fighting Yajirobe and Chiaotzu.
"Wow, look at them go," said Gajeel with a grin. "Wish I could join them."
Levi sweatdropped. "Euh, Gajeel. With your strength, you would probably pulverize them."
Gajeel thought for a bit. "Yeah, you're probably right," said the iron dragon slayer with a sigh.
Mira chuckled. "But you must admit. Even though these martial artists are not on our level yet. Their combat ability is certainly impressive."
Erza nodded with a smile. "Yes, extremely so. And they all have some incredible techniques."
The scene changed to snake way. Goku was climbing with difficulty on a path that went up.
"It looks like Goku hasn't reached the end yet," said Lucy sadly.
"Yes, I don't know if it's still possible for him to raise his strength at an appropriate level. Already six months have gone by," said Erza worriedly.
"Say, Malia," said Juvia in deep thought. "I have been wondering about something. This King Kai person. He is a god, right? Is he like one of those Supreme Kai's who watches over the Universe?"
Malia chuckled. "Kinda. But only a small part of it."
"Oh, I see," said Juvia with a nod.
When Goku reached the top and looked ahead, the screen showed the end of snake way.
The Saiyan raised on Earth smiled. "Hey, alright. I reached the tail. Whoohoo, I really did it."
The mages cheered.
"Awesome, he made it," said Natsu with a grin.
"HOORAY," said Happy.
Lucy sighed in relief. "Let's just hope there's is enough time left."
Goku glided to the end. But when he reached the tail, there was nothing there. And he almost fell off snake way again.
"WHAT," yelled the mages in shock.
"There's nothing here," said Goku surprised. Goku pulled himself up from the snake's tail and jumped back on the road. "You've got to be kidding me?"
Wendy looked confused. "Wait, isn't this the end of snake way? If so, where is King Kai's home?"
Marakov scratched his beard in deep thought. "Well, if it's nowhere in sight. And down isn't possible since there lies hell."
Natsu grinned. "Then the only way left is up."
Marakov nodded with a chuckle. "Correct you are, Natsu."
Goku also figured that out. The Saiyan from Earth looked up and saw something. "Huh, what's that up there?"
A small green planet was floating in the sky.
All the mages smiled.
"Heh, so that's where King Kai lives," said Gray with a grin.
"Wow, this guy's home is a whole planet," Bickslow amazed.
"Well, he is a deity that oversees the Universe, said Gajeel with a grin.
Juvia chuckled. "Not the whole Universe Gajeel. Only a part of it."
"Oh, and which part is that," said Gajeel confused.
Malia answered. "King Kai, also known as North Kai. Watches over Northern part of the Universe."
"So, that means Earth lies in the North Galaxy," said Juvia.
"Right you are," said Malia.
"That's it," said Goku with a smile. "That must be where King Kai lives. It has to be."
Jumped towards the little planet. The Screen showed the planet from close by.
"What a lovely little planet," said Mira with a smile.
"It certainly is. That house is strange in appearance though," said Lucy with a chuckle.
Goku, who was floating above the planet smiled. "This is the place. I made it."
Goku suddenly felt an enormous force dragging him towards the planet. He struck the ground with great force.
"GOKU," yelled Erza and Canna worriedly.
"What the hell happened," said Gray confused. "Did he run out of energy?"
"Mmm," said Gildarts in deep thought. "I don't think so."
Goku struggled to get back up again. "Hey, what's the matter with the ground here?" Goku tried even harder to push him back up. "This is crazy. The more I fight against it. The harder it seems to pull me back down."
Everyone looked confused.
"Wait, ground that pushes you back down," said Levi surprised. "Is he talking about gravity?"
Erza was in deep thought. "Like Kagura's gravity magic?"
"Or that blueno guy I fought on Tenrou Island," said Gildarts with a snort.
"Sort of," said Malia with a chuckle. "But this is a more natural gravity with no magic involved. This planet has a gravity that weighs ten times more than that of Earth. So Goku's body now feels ten times heavier."
"Wow, ten times your own body weight. That's certainly a big workout," said Gray amazed.
"It's no use," said Goku who was still struggling. "My body feels like it's completely filled with lead. Damm."
"Cmon Goku you can do it," said Natsu.
"Aye," said Happy. "Show that gravity who's boss."
Suddenly, almost like the Saiyan had heard Natsu and the little exceed. Goku gained a determined look on his face. With amazing willpower, the Saiyan from Earth managed to stand up. But it was still difficult to walk. Goku began to walk into the direction of what looked to be King Kai's house.
"I came this far. I can't give up. Just a little more."
All the mages were amazed at Goku's determination.
"This boy," said Marakov with a grin. "Is certainly something else."
Gildarts nodded with a chuckle. "Yeah, he sure is."
Erza smiled at Saiyan from Earth. She had a slight blush on her face.
Laxus smirked. "Okay, I think I made up my mind."
"About what Laxus," said Freed curiously.
Laxus grinned. "How would you three feel about adding another member to the team?"
Bickslow, Evergreen, and Freed looked shocked. The three looked at the screen.
"You mean," said Evergreen surprised. "You plan to ask Goku to join our team?"
Laxus nodded with a smirk. "I was considering it for a while. But his determination and willpower that he showed convinced me."
Freed nodded with a smile. "I'm okay with it."
Evergreen and Bickslow nodded also.
"And if you think about it, Goku is a god," said Bickslow with a grin. "He would make our team complete."
Natsu frowned. "Hey, you can't just claim Goku like that. I wanted him to join our team."
"Tough luck Natsu," said Bickslow with a grin. "Besides, you already have Gray, Lucy, Wendy, and Erza on your team. Not to mention Happy and Charla."
Gildarts chuckled. "They have a point Natsu. "Still, Goku is a god. I don't think he wants to join a group of whelps like you four when he can join me."
All mages were shocked.
"Oy," said Laxus with a tickmark on his forehead. "When I wanted to join you when I became an S class. You said you were a lone wolf."
Gildarts grinned. "Ah, that was just because I didn't want anyone to slow me down on my jobs. Goku should be able to keep up with me since he's considered a god."
Laxus suddenly smirked. "If you don't back off old man. I will make sure that Goku and Canna will end up in the sack together."
Gildarts glared at Laxus. "You won't dare."
"Just try me," said Laxus with a grin. "I'll even get Mira involved by setting those two up together. You will have grandkids at the end of the year."
Mira chuckled at that. "Oh my. I don't mind doing that."
Canna blushed a cherry red. "K-kids," said Canna embarrassed.
Gildarts sighed in annoyance. "Dammit, fine. You can have him on your team."
"Marakov sighed at his children's antics. "Are you finished with your discussion? Then let's continue with reacting."
"Almost there," said Goku with harsh breaths. "Got…to get….to King Kai. Cmon Goku you can do it. Keep going, one step at a time."
"You can do it, Goku," said Freed with a grin. "You're a future member of Thunder God Tribe."
Evergreen and Bickslow nodded.
Suddenly Goku noticed something. He saw a tree with green fruits.
"But before I get going. I should get a bite to eat," said Goku with a smile.
Lucy sighed. "Well, can't say I'm not surprised by that."
Erza chuckled. "Oh, Lucy. Let the man have his lunch. Goku hasn't eaten anything yet for almost six months."
Natsu nodded in agreement. "Yeah. If I were in his shoes. I would probably already die again from starvation."
"Aye," said Happy with a nod.
Goku approached the tree and tried to climb it. But he fell down on his back. And when he lay down his head he saw what appeared to be a…monkey?
Lisanna had hearts in her eyes. "It's so cute."
"Adorable," said Mira with a smile.
But what Goku said next made all the mages laugh. "You must be King Kai, right," said Goku with an innocent look. "You're not really what I expected."
"Oh my," said Mira while she was wiping away her tears. "That caught me by surprise."
"Goku, seriously," said Lucy with a chuckle. "How can a monkey be King Kai?"
"He's so innocent," said Erza with a smile.
Goku stood up. And the mages heard his thoughts. "Well, he is supposed to be the best."
"Hey, maybe Goku is right. Maybe this monkey is really King Kai," said Natsu.
Lucy gave her boyfriend a deadpanned look. "A monkey is responsible for watching over the North quadrant of the Universe. Right, and I'm Santa Claus's wife."
Everyone chuckled at that.
Goku gave the monkey a bow. "Greetings great master King Kai. My name is Goku. And I traveled a great distance to meet you. I must learn of your martial arts. Please master King Kai. I really beg of you. I mean, if you're not too busy."
Gildart's laughed. "And this is the guy you want to date? A real catch, Canna."
The card mage smirked at her father. "I rather want my boyfriend to be innocent instead of being a womanizer like you."
Gildarts got depressed. "My sweet little angel. How can you say that to your dear old father."
Everyone sweatdropped at the crash mages' antics.
The monkey suddenly put his arms in the air and began to walk around in a strange manner while doing monkey noises.
"He's even more adorable now," said Mira with a smile.
"That he is," said Lisanna.
"So that's the training, huh? I guess he wants me to do whatever he does."
All the mages couldn't help but burst out in laughter by the following scene.
Goku was mimicking the monkey in perfect detail. And if things weren't funny enough. The next thing that Goku did made some mages fall out of their seat from laughter.
"Hey, King Kai. Why do I feel so heavy in this place? Is this supposed to help me with that? Oh right, monkey noises. Oeh oeh hah, hi oeh oeh."
"Oh, god," said Marakov while he was trying to get his laughter under control. "I never, bwahaha, saw something so, hahaha, hilarious in my life."
Mira snickered. "Please, master. It's not polite to,…. Hihihi."
Lucy was on the ground. Laughing hysterically. After a few minutes, she tried to calm down. She was still a bit out of breath though.
"A-and the m-most entertaining t- thing about it I-Is." Lucy finally got her breathing under control.
"He isn't even trying to be funny. He just thinks this is part of his training."
Erza, who wiped away her tears from laughter chuckled. "Yes, I guess that's why it's so hilarious in the first place."
They all suddenly heard an unfamiliar voice. "Hey, that looks fun. Can I try?"
The screen showed the source of the voice. A short individual with blue skin and pointed ears. He had a pair of catfish-like barbels on the sides of his face. He wore Teashade sunglasses and a pair of small white shoes. He also wore a black tunic with goldenrod-trimmed sleeves. And he has a pair of cricket-like antennae.
"Is that guy King Kai," said Natsu confused. "He doesn't look that strong to me."
"Appearances can be deceiving Natsu," said Marakov with a smile.
Goku just looked at the Individual strangely.
"Looks like I got a weird one on my hands," thought the blue man.
All the mages gave a small chuckle at the man's words. Except Erza and Canna.
Erza frowned. "Goku isn't weird. He's just confused about who you are."
Canna nodded in agreement.
"Hey, wait a sec. Who are you supposed to be," said Goku in confusion.
The man chuckled. "Who am I? Well now."
The blue man suddenly turned around and began to scratch his back in a comical manner.
"If you're itching for a laugh. I'm your guy. I'm King Kai."
All the mages lightly chuckled. "He certainly is a unique individual," said Lucy with a sweatdrop.
Mira giggled. "Yes, and his act was enjoyable to watch."
"But then, who is that," said Goku who was pointing at the walking monkey.
"Him? Oh, that's just my pet monkey, Bubbles."
"Oh my, such a cute name," said Lisanna with a smile.
Goku rubbed his neck in embarrassment. "Right," said Goku with a chuckle. "I thought he was you. Funny huh?"
The mages chuckled at Goku's embarrassed face.
"I say you're more odd than funny. I'm funny," said King Kai.
Lucy sweatdropped. "Yeah, sure you are."
"I'm sure you gathered that from my clever little rhyme there. It's not too late to laugh if you need to."
Goku looked confused. "Laugh? At what?"
"Yikes, that was a burn," said Gajeel with a grin.
"Oh my," said Mira with a small chuckle. "I just think that Goku didn't even notice King Kai's little rhyme."
"I see. Poor boy. You're delirious from your journey. I guess I shouldn't have led with the high-brow stuff. Tell you what. I try again. Something a little bit more up your alley."
"Wow, he really wants to make Goku laugh, doesn't he," said Gray.
Wendy nodded with a smile. "Do your best, Mr. King Kai."
The god began to make telephone noises. And he made it look like he was answering a call.
"Hold on. It's King Kai. Can I help you? What? My refrigerator? Yes, it runs."
King began to laugh at his own joke.
Natsu scratched his head in confusion. "I don't get it."
"Me neither," said Happy.
Gildarts sighed. "Good, it's better that you didn't understand it."
"Damm, that was such a lame joke," said Gajeel with a chuckle.
Levi sweatdropped. "Well, at least he tried."
"Hilarious," said King Kai through his laughter.
"Yeah? What is," said Goku curiously.
All the mages laughed at Goku's words. "Rejected for a second time," said Lucy with a chuckle.
"Oh, poor King Kai," said Mira with a giggle.
King Kai grumbled. "What did you come here for anyway?"
Goku gave a small bow. "I was told you were the best sir. So I was hoping you would train me."
Natsu grinned. "Finally, here comes the good part."
"Train, huh," said King Kai with a small chuckle. "If you're serious, then okay."
All the mages smiled at the god's answer.
"I'm serious," said Goku with an exciting look.
"That's the spirit Goku," said Erza with a smile.
Lisanna chuckled. "Goku is certainly pumped up to start his training."
"However," said King Kai with a look. "You have to pass my test before we start."
"A test," said Wendy curious. "I wonder what it could be?"
"Oh boy. I hope it's a fight," said Natsu with an excited smile.
"Yes, you must tell a clever joke that will make me laugh. But I should warn you. My sense of humor is very refined."
"A joke," said Laxus with a frown. "That's the test. Is he for real?"
Gray sighed. "This guy really likes comedy, huh."
"WHAT! I never told a joke in my life."
"Oh my. That certainly is a problem," said Mira with a worried look.
"Well, you have to try if you want to train under a master like me. And make it a good one. Something I never heard before."
Goku was struggling to think of a good joke.
"Cmon, Goku. You got this," said Wendy with a cheer.
"Hey, if Goku's jokes are as good as his impressions of Bubbles. Then there is nothing to worry about," said Gajeel with a chuckle.
"Well, Cmon," said King Kai impatiently.
Goku still was thinking hard.
"Of course if this is too hard for you. You can head home right now."
"The clock said…. MY HANDS ARE TIED," yelled Goku.
"Nevermind," said Gajeel with a sweatdrop.
Levi chuckled. "I think it wasn't that bad."
King was shocked. "Like, a clock's hands? That's not bad."
King Kai began to cover his mouth with his hands to make sure his small laugh wouldn't be heard.
All the mages grinned.
"Man, this is going to be easy for Goku," said Gray. "This guy laughs at almost everything."
Goku smiled. "Alright, it's working. A harp… IS A NAKED PIANO."
Erza let out a small chuckle. "That one wasn't half bad."
"Aye," said Happy with a small snicker.
King was trying to get his laughter under control. But the last one sent him over the edge.
"I SOLD MY CAR… FOR GAS MONEY!"
All the mages were confused at the last one. What was a car? And what was Gas?
But King Kai lost it. He began to roll around the ground in hysterical laughter.
"Wow, I did it," said Goku with a smile. "You laughed. That means you have to train me."
The mages nodded at that.
"He's right. A promise is a promise," said Elfman with a smile. "A real man should honor their agreement."
"Cmon, we had a deal, right?"
King Kai, who was recovering from his laughter began to wipe the tears from his eyes with a handkerchief.
"I know you said that you never told a joke. But you're pretty good at this."
Lucy smiled with a sweatdrop. "Uh, I think you're just someone who laughs easily."
Mira giggled. "Yes, I think so too."
"You passed the test I will train you. Now, for your first lesson. I tell you, my best joke yet."
Every fairy tail member fell down comically. "IS THIS GUY SERIOUS," yelled Laxus with an annoyed look on his face.
"For real," said Gajeel with a tickmark on his forehead. "I thought this guy was a martial arts master. Not a third-rate comedian."
"But, I passed. We're done. Can't we start the martial arts stuff now," said Goku confused.
"You're here for martial arts," said King Kai surprised. "Why didn't you say so in the first place."
"Well, technically he has a point," said Lisanna with a chuckle. "Goku said he was there for training. But he never told King Kai it was for martial arts."
Elfman nodded at that. "Yeah, that's true."
"Fine, try coming at me," said King Kai as he took a fighting pose. "I hope you're as good at fighting as you are at comedy."
Natsu grinned in excitement. "Finally some action."
Goku took a fighting stance. But he suddenly hesitated.
"What's wrong," asked King Kai.
"Sorry, It's just, ever since I got here. My body feels so heavy I'm sorta have a hard time moving."
"No kidding," said Gray. "His body weighs ten times more than it did on Earth. He will need to get used to it first before he can start training."
Erza nodded. "Yes, and don't forget. Goku is also wearing his heavy clothes. That will make overcoming the gravity even more challenging."
"Where did you come from anyway? Oh yeah Earth, right?"
"Yep," Goku said with a nod.
"Well, no wonder you feel so heavy. The gravity on this planet is much stronger than what you're used to. Ten times stronger in fact. It's amazing you're standing at all."
"You know, that got me wondering about how much gravity Earthland has," said Gildarts with a thoughtful look.
"You're planet normally, because of its big size. Should have a much lower gravity than that of King Kai's world. But because of the high amount of Ethernano that dwells in the earth and atmosphere. Your planet's gravity is much heavier," said Malia.
"By how much," asked Laxus curiously. "Mmm, around 20 times more than that from Earth."
"Wow," said Lucy amazed. "Are you saying that our bodies weigh ten times heavier than what Goku is experiencing right now?"
"If you mean by right now, on the screen. Then yes."
Natsu looked confused. "But, If that's the case. Shouldn't we also have trouble moving around like Goku?"
Malia chuckled. "Natsu, you and your fellow mages are used to this gravity. From the moment a person is born, their body will adapt to its surroundings. 20 times Gravity for you is the same as what Goku feels on Earth."
"So, does that mean if we would travel to Goku's world our bodies would feel twenty times lighter," asked Erza curious.
"Yes. That assumption is correct, Erza Scarlet."
"Do you, you're not following me, are you," said King Kai at Goku's confused face.
The mages chuckled at Goku's confused look.
"Okay, let's try something else. Jump as high as you can."
Goku nodded. He used all of his strength to jump. He got pretty high. But nowhere what he was usually capable of.
"Damm, it's no use. I can barely get myself off the ground."
Marakov smiled. "I think he did pretty good considering he's not used to the gravity and is still wearing his weighted clothing."
Gildarts nodded. "Yeah. To be completely honest. I thought he would have jumped much lower."
"Ohh, Ten times his own planet's gravity and he can still jump that high? Impressive. This guy shows some promise," thought King Kai.
"He certainly does," said Marakov with a nod.
"Before we begin. I'll need to work out your training regiment. How long are planning on staying here?"
"Umm. Well, I'm not sure how many days I was on snake way. But I don't think I have that much time."
Goku's face turned serious. "See, the Saiyans are on their way to my planet. When they get there, everyone I know is in a lot of trouble. Nobody on Earth is powerful enough to stand up to them. So, that's why I need to spend every single second I have left training to beat them."
Goku sure shows a lot of compassion towards his friends, said Wendy with a smile.
"Yeah," said Lucy with a grin. "He certainly has a lot of heart."
"And he sees it as his duty to protect the ones he cares about," said Erza with a warm smile.
"The Saiyan's, huh? They're a nasty bunch. I sure wouldn't want to tangle with them."
"Wow, even King Kai is afraid to fight these Saiyans," said Gray surprised. "Though, that Raditz guy wasn't that tough. In our perspective at least. I wonder how much stronger these other two Saiyans are compared to him."
"Mmm," said Gildarts with a thoughtful look. "I'm not sure. Guess we will have to find out for ourselves. Unless Malia doesn't mind sharing that information with us."
"I don't mind telling you. The one called Nappa has a power level of 8000 when he goes all out. And Vegeta's power surpasses his partner's by a lot. His full power is 18000."
All the mages were horrified.
"Oh no," said Lucy with a worried look. "How are Goku and his friends going to survive this? That Nappa guy is almost seven times stronger than Raditz. And Vegeta is 15 times stronger."
"It almost seems impossible," said Wendy sadly.
"Yeah," said Laxus with a frown. "But, since Goku is alive and well. They must have somehow survived this encounter."
Gildarts nodded. "Yes, that's true. Anyway. For now, let's continue reacting. We will all find out soon enough."
They all agreed.
"But we still need to know how much time you have. Let me check and see where the Saiyans are right now."
The screen showed how King Kai's antenna began to search for the location of the Saiyans.
"Wow, that's amazing," said Lisanna.
Lucy nodded at her friend. "Yeah, no kidding."
The screen suddenly showed two pods that were flying through space.
Gajeel frowned. "That must be them."
Levi nodded in agreement.
King Kai's voice could be heard. "No doubt about it. That's them alright."
The screen showed the two Saiyans who looked to be in some kind of static sleep.
Canna sighed sadly. "It's really too bad. That Vegeta guy, though not as handsome as Goku. Is still kind of cute. Too bad he's such an evil man."
Erza nodded at that.
The mages suddenly heard Malia giggle. "You know, Canna. Let me tell you a little secret."
Canna looked confused at Malia's words. "A secret?"
"Yes. It's about Prince Vegeta."
Canna suddenly was more interested. "What about him?"
Malia chuckled. "The Vegeta you see on the screen right now is certainly evil. But," said Malia mysteriously.
All the mages suddenly knew where this was going.
"He will turn into a good guy, right," said Natsu with a grin.
"Correct, Natsu. Although, Vegeta won't admit it in the beginning. He will slowly change after a certain amount of time. And will come to see Earth as his home. And even start a family."
Everyone smiled at that.
"But, that will not be happening until much later. The Vegeta you will see now is pure evil. And has no mercy against his enemies."
The mages nodded sadly. The screen changed again towards King Kai's planet.
"Judging by their speed and current location. I'll say they due to arrive on Earth in…. 158 days," said King Kai.
Gray clenched his fists in frustration. "Damm, that's certainly not much time."
"Yes," said Erza with worry in her eyes. "You're right about that."
"That soon? But how can you possibly be able to tell that," said Goku surprised.
"These antennas get all the channels baby. Like a Tv."
King Kai began to laugh at his own joke.
"What's a Tv," said Levi confused.
"It's similar to a Movie Lacrima. But, instead of Magic. It uses electricity to function," said Malia.
"Oh," said Marakov with a thoughtful look. "That's certainly is something else."
While King Kai was Laughing. Goku just stood there with a confused look.
King Kai noticed and frowned. "If you don't have a sense of humor. I will not train you."
All the mages frowned at that.
But Goku suddenly began to fake his laughing. "Hahaha, I get it now. Hehe."
King Kai smiled. "Good."
"Nice one, Goku," said Gajeel with thumbs up. "But your acting skills could use some work."
Levi smiled with a sweatdrop. "Gajeel Kun. You know Goku can't hear us, right?"
The iron dragon slayer scratched his neck in embarrassment. "Y-yeah. I knew that."
Goku's laughing face turned suddenly changed into a worried one.
"But, if you're sure they'll get to Earth in 158 days. I don't have enough time, do I?"
"It's certainly going to be tough," said Freed with a sigh.
Natsu smirked. "Goku will find a way. I just know it."
Lucy giggled. "You certainly have become a big fan of Goku, Natsu."
The dragon slayer rubbed his neck in a comic fashion. "Maybe a little."
"Well, I like more. But I still think we'll be able to make it work," said King Kai with a smile.
All the mages smiled at King Kai's words.
"Really," said Goku surprised.
"Think of it this way. It's like the gravity. Everything is multiplied here. 158 days with me is worth years of training back on Earth."
All the mages cheered at that.
"That's great news," said Lisanna. "Now there is a change that Goku will become a lot stronger."
Mira nodded with a smile. "I just hope it will be enough."
"That's awesome," said Goku with a smile.
"However," said King Kai with a serious voice. "Even the best training won't guarantee that you beat the Saiyans. Just know that now. In particular, the two who are on their way to Earth are among the strongest and most ruthless warriors in the Universe. To be perfectly frank. These Saiyan's are even more powerful than me."
"Well, we already knew they were strong," said Laxus with a frown.
They all nodded sadly.
"They are? Are you kidding," said Goku in shock.
"No, not this time," said King Kai. "If you would stand any chance of beating them. That means your powers will have to surpass mine by the time you leave here. Your work is cut out for you."
Erza smiled. "Do your best Goku," thought the red-haired beauty.
"Well, I suppose we should get started."
the mages were curious about what kind of training Goku will be doing.
"BUBBLES" yelled King Kai. "Come over here please."
The monkey began to walk toward his master.
"Why is he calling Bubbles," asked Wendy confused.
"I don't know," said Lisanna. "I hope King Kai isn't going to let Goku fight Bubbles."
"No, I don't think so," said Erza in deep thought. "Remember, Goku is still not used to the gravity. He won't be able to... Oooh," said Erza suddenly in understanding.
Marakov chuckled. "So you also figured it out."
Erza nodded with a smile. "Yes, I think I did. It certainly is an interesting approach."
"First thing first. You need to get accustomed to the increased gravity here. So your first exercise is to catch Bubbles. I warn you. You have to be quick he's pretty spry. If you can't at least do that you might as well give up now."
"Catch a monkey," said Gajeel with a confused look. "Is that really going to help Goku to get stronger?"
Gildarts chuckled. "Well, it mostly will help him to get used to the gravity on King Kai's planet. But it also will make for a good training exercise no matter how ridiculous it looks. So yes, his power will rise dramatically when he overcomes this challenge."
"Sure. Whatever you say," said Goku.
"Okay, Bubbles. Get moving."
The monkey in question began to start walking.
"Wait," said Goku who trying to catch up to Bubbles. "Slow down."
Mira giggled. "That's not how this exercise works, Goku. Bubbles doesn't need to slow down. You have to speed up."
"Aye," said Happy in agreement.
"Stupid Monkey," said Goku in frustration. "This is impossible."
Lisanna pouted. "There is no need to call Bubbles names, Goku."
Mira giggled at her sister's words.
"Stop," said Goku who was still nowhere close to reaching Bubbles.
The Saiyan from Earth suddenly had to take a breather.
"Okay, that's it. You're going down." Goku began to take off his weighted shirt. His muscular body was on full display.
Erza and Canna's cheeks turned a bit red at the sight before them. Even the other girls had a slight blush on their faces.
"That's better." Goku sat down and began to take the rest of his heavy clothing. "I'm...so...gonna...catch you."
"I didn't realize he was already wearing weighted training gear," thought King Kai surprised.
"There's no way you're getting away from me this time," said Goku with a smirk.
"Yeah, get that monkey, Goku," said Natsu with a cheer.
"YES, BE A REAL MAN!"
Everyone sweatdropped at the two wizards.
Goku continued his pursuit of Bubbles. He was much faster than before.
As Goku ran towards Bubbles. The storyteller could be heard in the background.
"And so, at long last. Goku's intense physical training has begun. Will he ever be able to overcome the ten times gravity on this tiny little planet? Or will his training with King Kai come to an end almost as quickly as it started? Only time will tell. But time is running out. 158 days remain until the Saiyans reach planet Earth. The clock is ticking. Next time."
"Oh man, the suspense is killing me," said Natsu with a grin.
"This is certainly getting good," said Gajeel with a grin.
"Yeah, I can't wait to see what happens next," said Levi.
"Well, let's take another break for a bit, said Malia. When you're all ready, we will continue the reaction."
They all nodded.
Erza suddenly noticed something that ticked her off. "GRAY! FOR THE LAST TIME. PUT ON SOME CLOTHES!"
