Important Note: In this story, I will mostly follow the dragon ball kai series. But, for some scenes, I'm going to use the original Ocean dub. Just to let you know.
Chapter 10: Goku Vs Vegeta. An all-out Kamehameha.
All the mages were ready to start reacting again. Though funny enough. Two of the mages were a bit late.
"What took you guys so long," said Lisanna, curious.
Evergreen had a sly grin on her face. "My, my. Are you sure you want me to tell you in detail what I and your brother did?"
Lisanna was confused at first. But when she saw Elfman's goofy grin. She began to blush.
"No, never mind. I don't want to hear it."
Evergreen chuckled. "Don't worry, dear," said the mage with a wink. "I'm sure you will find a boyfriend soon enough. Especially with those looks you have."
Lisanna became even redder than a tomato when she heard Evergreen's words.
Mira chuckled. "Oh, so that's the reason why you two were gone so long."
Everyone gained a blush on their face. Though, Marakov and Gildarts giggled perversely.
Malia giggled at their guests. "Well, now. Since you all are finished with what you were doing. Let's continue with the reaction, shall we?"
They all nodded. The screen started showing what happened last time. With, of course, the charming storyteller in the background.
"Last time, Gohan, Krillin, and Piccolo waged a desperate battle against Nappa. Hoping to buy what little time they could."
Everyone began to have sad looks on their faces. They all remembered what had happened to Piccolo.
"Unfortunately, Piccolo sacrificed himself to save Gohan from harm. And as a result, lost his life in the process."
"Piccolo," said Lisanna sadly.
Mira wiped away her tears. She was glad that Piccolo had saved Gohan. But he didn't deserve to get killed. She just hoped that there was a way to restore the dragon balls back to their original state.
"Having finally returned from Snake way. Goku easily took control of the battle with Nappa."
The mages grinned at that. "Yeah, Goku to the rescue," said Wendy with a smile.
"Goku will now have to face the evil Saiyan Prince, Vegeta. Will he be able to win? Find out, now."
Natsu hit his palm with his right fist. "C'mon, Goku. You got this, buddy."
Everyone gave The screen their undivided attention. The screen began to show the battlefield. And began close-in at Nappa. The bald Saiyan had an annoyed and angry look on his face.
"This is stupid. I can't believe I have to turn your execution to Vegeta. But orders are orders. Vegeta will finish you off."
The mages frowned at the brute's words.
Nappa began to lower in altitude. "Still, I can't just walk away without destroying someone."
"Oh, no," said Lucy with a horrified look. The Celestial mage had a good idea what the brute meant by that.
Nappa turned his attention towards Gohan and Krillin. He smirked evilly and rushed at them with incredible speed.
"NOOO, GOHAN, KRILLIN," yelled everyone in fright.
"Gohan, Krillin. I got to move."
Goku immediately rushed into action. And began pursuing the bald Saiyan. But Nappa had a head-start. And it looked like the Saiyan from Earth wasn't going to make it in time. Krillin and Gohan cowered in fright. But right when they all thought it was over. Goku unleashed his newly acquired technique.
"KAIO-KEN!"
A red-crimson aura engulfed our hero. And with incredible speed, he easily caught up to Nappa. Giving The Saiyan a devastating blow to the spine that crippled him.
"SOOO MANLY!"
"So cool," said Natsu and Happy with stars in his eyes.
"Incredible," said Marakov with an awed look. "Malia wasn't kidding when she said that the Kaio-ken technique makes the user look like he's on fire."
Gildarts nodded. "Yeah, it certainly looks impressive."
Erza couldn't help but chuckle. "Goku looks almost like a mighty strawberry. Ready to vanquish his foes."
Mira giggled at Erza's imagination.
The force of the attack made the Saiyan fly toward the ground at fast speeds. But right before Nappa could hit the ground. Goku appeared under him and caught him with a single hand. He then threw the paralyzed Saiyan in front of the shocked Vegeta.
Nappa couldn't move. And was in a lot of pain. "That really, really hurts," said the bald Saiyan with a painful look.
"And he's down for the count," said Canna with a grin.
"Hell yeah," said Grey with a smirk.
Goku gave Vegeta a stern look. "He won't be able to fight anymore. Take your injured friend and leave this planet. Just go back to wherever it is you came from right now."
"Yeah, you heard him, you jerk," said Lucy with a scowl towards the Saiyan Prince.
"What did I just witness? For a moment, his speed and power skyrocketed."
Gajeel smirked. "Wouldn't you like to know?"
Krillin was amazed at his friend's display. "Goku, how did you do that? Was that one of the techniques you learned from King Kai while you were off training?"
"Hit the nail right on the head, Krillin," said Mira with a chuckle.
Goku nodded at his friend. "It's called the Kaio ken. By controlling every ounce of energy in your body, you can amplify it for a short burst. If done correctly, your speed, power, destructive force, and defensive force can all get increased a lot."
"An impressive technique indeed," said Marakov.
Gildarts nodded. Yes. Though it isn't a technique without drawbacks, as we have all heard.
The mages nodded at that.
"That's incredible. You mean as strong as you are right now. You can get even stronger just like that?"
Goku nodded. "That's right."
"Goku, why do you tease us? This isn't a good time to be playing around. If you had that trick all up your sleeve this whole time, you should have used it right away."
Erza gave a soft frown. "Unfortunately, that move is very hurtful on his body if not used correctly. He hasn't mastered the technique yet."
Lucy nodded. "Yeah. Especially if use it to multiply his strength even more."
Goku chuckled. "Sorry, but that wasn't an option. If I don't stay in full control while boosting my energy, I could really mess myself up."
As Goku continued his explanation. The screen started to show an image of King Kai. Who was standing in front of our Hero.
"This must be a flashback of the time Goku was still training with King Kai," said Lisanna.
"Yeah, seems like it," said Mira.
"Now listen carefully," said King Kai in a strict voice. "At your level, you cannot use the Kaio Ken too much at any one time. If at any point in the process you lose control, you could severely harm your body. That's why you should raise your power no more than double. Performing a Kaio Ken more than double your power will put too much strain on your body. In other words, your body won't be able to keep up with the Kaio Ken, and the entire move will end up backfiring on you."
Past Goku nodded. "Right, I understand."
"Well, we all knew that there would be consequences of using the Kaio Ken," said Gray with a frown.
The mages nodded at that. "Let's just hope Goku doesn't go beyond that limit," said Mira worriedly.
The screen changed back towards the battlefield. Where Nappa was reaching out to Vegeta.
Vegeta took his fellow Saiyan's hand.
Nappa smiled. "T-thank you, boss."
Vegeta smirked evilly. "Sure."
"I don't like the look in that guy's eyes," thought Gildarts with a frown.
Suddenly, Vegeta threw Nappa in the air with enormous strength. Everyone was shocked at the evil Saiyan's actions.
"No, you don't think he's going to…," said Lucy with an angry look.
Everyone clenched their fists in anger.
"What's wrong with you? Vegeta, VEGETA!"
"I have no use for a paralyzed Saiyan. You're deadweight now."
Vegeta began to power up.
"Wow, what power," said Goku with an awed voice.
Gohan held on tight to his father's leg. "Dad, make it stop."
"The wind, I can't open my eyes," said the monk who was covering his face with his arms.
The mages gritted their teeth in anger when they saw Vegeta firing a powerful blast toward his fellow Saiyan.
"No, even though that Nappa is as evil as they come. Getting killed by his own teammate like this," said Wendy with a horrified look.
"Despicable," said Laxus with a frown.
"And so, in a bright explosion. The Saiyan, known as Nappa died, by the hands of his own superior."
Marakov clenched his staff. "How can anyone be so cruel towards his own comrade like that?"
Gildarts clenched his fists and gritted his teeth in anger.
When the dust settled. Vegeta looked above him. The screen showed Goku, who protected his son and his friend from the fearsome attack.
Everyone sighed in relief. That attack had incredible force behind it. It completely devastated the surrounding area.
Krillin gave Vegeta a scared look. "He's psycho. He just killed his teammate for no good reason."
"That Vegeta guy is sick in the head," said Gray with a disgusted look. "How can anyone sink so low to kill his own comrade like that? And in such a backstabbing way."
Everyone nodded at the ice mage's words.
"Gohan, Krillin," said Goku with a strict tone. "I want both of you to get back to Master Roshi's house right now, understand?"
"Yes," said Mira in agreement at Goku's words. "It's way too dangerous for them."
Natsu frowned as he saw the evil smirk on Vegeta's face. This guy really pissed the dragonslayer off.
"Yeah, we get it. You heard what you're dad said, Gohan. C'mon, let's go."
The boy was hesitant to leave. "But, I, I."
Erza gave the little boy a sad look. "Gohan doesn't want to leave his father all alone. Comes to no surprise to me. He already lost his dad once. Not to mention Piccolo today. He doesn't want his father to face Vegeta all alone and risk the chance of losing him a second time."
Lucy nodded sadly.
"You saw what this guy can do, he's too much for us. If we stick around, we aren't going to be any help. All we end up doing is making Goku worry about us rather than concentrating on beating that stupid Saiyan."
Everyone nodded sadly at that.
"But, dad? Are you sure," said Gohan worriedly.
"Sorry, Gohan. But Krillin is right. This guy is a lot stronger than I originally thought he would be."
"Okay fine," said Gohan eventually. "I guess I understand."
Everyone smiled at the young boy.
"You have done more than enough, my boy," said Marakov with a grandfatherly smile. "Let your father take care of the rest."
Suddenly, Krillin began to speak. "Oh right, Goku. I was wondering if there is a way you could move this fight to another location?"
Goku was confused by Krillin's words. And so were the fairy tail members. Why was Krillin so worried about fighting in another location?
The monk continued his explanation. "I don't think our friends would appreciate it if their bodies get blown up before we have a chance to wish them back to life."
Goku frowned sadly. "Wish them back to life? But Piccolo is dead, which means Kami is too. I hate to say it, Krillin. But the Dragon balls are gone forever. There's no way they'll ever be able to have another chance at life."
All the mages could hear the sorrow in Goku's voice.
Canna and Erza had both sad looks on their faces. "Poor, Goku," they both thought.
"I'm not sure. We'll see about that," said Krillin.
Gohan looked at the monk in realization. "Wait, are you, are you talking about…."
All of the mages were confused about what Krillin was talking about. Well, most of them, at least. Levi, Mira, Laxus, and Gildarts had a good idea of what the bald man meant by that.
Goku gave his best friend his full attention. "What? What's that?"
"Don't worry, Goku. I'll explain later. Just promise me this, okay? That you beat that guy and come back alive."
"Come back alive. Right. Well then," said Goku with a smile. "I don't have much of a choice now, do I, guys? I'll do my best."
"You can do this, man," said Gray with a grin.
"Aye," said Happy with a cheer.
"Let's get on with it," said Vegeta with a mocking look. "What happened to all that enthusiasm you had? Are you just gonna run away like a little baby?"
The mages glared at the Prince's words.
Natsu snorted. "Goku, running away? In his dreams."
"Yeah, he's a real man," said Elfman.
"Alright then, I'll try to lure him as far away from this place as I possibly can. I'll be seeing the two of you very soon."
Suddenly, Krillin reached out his hand toward Goku. "One last thing. I'm sorry we have to leave our fate to you alone but…. Don't you even think about dying on me, friend."
Goku gave his best friend a smile and shook his hand. "Right."
Everyone smiled at the scene.
"THOSE TWO ARE REAL, MAN," yelled Elfman through his tears.
Mira giggled at her brother's antics.
"Be careful, dad," said Gohan worriedly.
Goku put his right hand on his son's head. "Gohan, what do you say once I finish this business here? How about you and I go fishing together?"
Gohan gave his father a big smile. "Yeah."
The mages smiled. Mira couldn't help but let out a few tears at the happy moment between father and son. Gildarts nodded with a smile. There was no better way to bond with someone. Fishing is a man's way to become one with Mother Nature. A spiritual journey towards manhood.
"Natsu, can we go fishing later, too," asked, Happy.
Natsu grinned and gave his friend a thumbs up. "But of course, buddy. I saw a lake above the palace earlier. And it was full of all kinds of fish. If Malia allows it."
Malia giggled. "But of course, you can, Natsu. Just make sure you don't fall into the lake. The current is very dangerous in some places."
They both nodded at that.
Goku gave his son a smile and turned toward his opponent. He began to hover down.
Vegeta laughed. "I take it you realize there's no use in running away?"
"Let's finish this someplace else," said Goku towards the Prince.
Vegeta smirked. "Fine by me. Makes no difference."
He really is a cocky bastard, said Gajeel with a frown.
Levi nodded at her boyfriend's words.
Everyone saw how Goku led the evil Saiyan away in another direction.
"Good luck, dad," said Gohan with a sad look.
"Don't worry about your dad, kid," said Laxus with a soft smile. "I'm sure he's going to be okay."
Everyone nodded at that with a grin.
Mira, however, wanted to hug the young boy. And tell him everything was going to be alright.
The screen showed a small scene where Goku and Vegeta were flying.
Goku looked behind him. "I shouldn't be surprised. He's as confident as they come."
"With the kind of power he has at his disposal, it doesn't surprise me either. I guess he's never been challenged before," said Marakov with a frown.
"What about that Frieza guy," said Laxus, curious. " Do you think he's stronger than Vegeta? I know he's supposedly strong enough to destroy a planet. But then again, most of the Z-Warriors are capable of that."
Everyone shrugged their shoulders. They knew that Ki was very destructive in nature. They saw with their own eyes what Ki was capable of. But they didn't know how strong this Frieza character was compared to Vegeta or the rest of the Z-Warriors. And when they asked Malia, she just giggled and said they would find that out for themselves very soon.
The screen changed again towards Gohan and Krillin. The boy was looking in the direction his father had disappeared to with a sad look in his eyes.
Mira put her hand on her heart. She really wished there was a way to comfort the little boy.
"Gohan… hey, Gohan."
The little boy looked at the owner of the voice. "Yeah?"
"We better hurry back to master Roshi's," said Krillin.
Gohan nodded, but still like looked sadly at the direction his father had disappeared to.
The mages had all sad frowns on their faces. Marakov couldn't help but feel sorry for the small boy. He was just concerned about his father's well-being.
"Worrying about it isn't going to help things. It's out of our hands now. We turned the fate of the world over to him. It's gonna be okay. I'm sure Goku will beat that guy no sweat."
Natsu nodded with a grin towards Krillin's words. "Hell yeah. There's no doubt about that."
"Aye," said Happy with a cheer.
Everyone else wasn't so sure about that. The only thing they could do was watch. Since this was only a memory from a long time ago.
Krillin put his hand on Gohan's shoulder to comfort him. "Hey, look. Let's go home to a nice cooked meal and show your mom that you're alright."
Gohan smiled softly. "Right."
Mira smiled at the bald monk's attempt to comfort the young boy. "Thank you, Krillin. You really are a good person."
Lisanna nodded. "He sure is."
The screen changed towards Goku and Vegeta again. Goku suddenly disappeared from Vegeta's sight. The Prince smirked and disappeared also. They both landed in an area full of rock formations.
"This spot should do. From what I can tell, there are no people or animals nearby."
"Good," said Gajeel with a nod. "With no innocent bystanders or animals around. Goku can go all out without worrying about hurting anyone."
"Yeah, and he certainly will have to go all out against an opponent of this caliber," said Panther Lily.
Vegeta smirked in Goku's direction as he landed. "Interesting. Of all the places on your planet, you choose this as your gravesite."
Everyone glared at Vegeta's words.
"He really doesn't see Goku as a threat," said Gray with a frown.
Canna clenched her fists. She really hated the Saiyan's guts. Even though he was pretty attractive. His character was rotten to the core. She had a hard time believing that this Vegeta was the same one she had seen earlier today.
The Prince chuckled evilly. "You should feel lucky. Not every low-class warrior gets the chance to spar with a Super-elite like myself."
Erza snorted. "What cocky bastard."
"Not long after Saiyans are born, their skills as a soldier are tested. The scum who score around the lowest are sent to the outer worlds, where the opponents are weak. Much like you were, Kakarot. In other words," said Vegeta with a mocking look. "You were cast out like a dog."
"For your information, bastard. He wasn't cast out," said Lucy with a glare. "He was sent to Earth by his parents so he could survive."
"Yeah," said Canna with an equal glare.
Goku smiled. "Yeah, and as a result, I was lucky enough to come here to Earth. I'm grateful for that. Besides, maybe even a lower-class outcast can surpass an elite if he puts his mind to it."
All the mages smiled at that.
Marakov nodded with a grin. "Anyone can become stronger if they have the determination to improve themselves."
Laxus nodded at his grandfather's words.
Vegeta chuckled. "That's a nice attempt at a joke. Now let me show you a wall you will never have the ability to scale through effort alone."
The two warriors positioned themselves in their fighting stances. And we're waiting for their opponent to make the first move.
"I wonder who's going to attack first," said Juvia with a curious look.
"I guess we will find out," said Gray.
After waiting, it was Goku that made the first move by charging his opponent.
Vegeta dodged Goku's punch and countered with one of his own. They both began to dish out a series of punches toward each other. After a while, Goku tried to hit his opponent with a strong right kick. But Vegeta dodged it and began to move away from his opponent with incredible speed. Goku followed The Saiyan Prince. Hoping to catch him. But It was all a trap. The evil Saiyan used his feet to push himself from a rocky pillar toward his opponent with incredible speed. Caught off-guard, it was Vegeta who landed the first hit. With a devastating punch to Goku's face.
"NO, GOKU," yelled the girls worriedly.
But Goku recovered from the hit and used a rocky formation to push himself to mid-air. He suddenly lost sight of Vegeta. He began to look left and right for his opponent. Goku suddenly sensed Vegeta behind him and dodged the attack just in the nick of time. They both began to trade blows again with each other. But Vegeta began to get through Goku's defenses.
"What's wrong, Kakarot? Surely you can put up a better fight than this?"
The Prince landed a devastating right kick to our hero's stomach. And used his two fists to send his opponent flying toward the ground.
"I saw you exert more effort when you were fighting Nappa, so why not me? Let's see it."
Goku recovered from the blows and landed on a rocky pillar. Vegeta landed a few meters from him. He had a cocky smile on his face.
The mages were shocked. Vegeta was an evil bastard, no doubt about that. But his fighting skills were top-notch.
"I'm actually amazed by Vegeta's fighting abilities," said Gildarts with a frown. "He really outclasses that Nappa guy by a huge amount."
Laxus nodded. "And by the looks of it. It seems he is still just playing around."
"This doesn't look good for Goku, doesn't it," said Mira sadly.
Erza clenched her fist in frustration. "No, I'm afraid not. Both in speed and power, Vegeta surpasses Goku by a lot."
Natsu gritted his teeth. "He still has his Kaio Ken technique, right? It should at least even the odds."
Marakov sighed. "Goku's full power without using the Kaio Ken is above 8000. While Vegeta's power level is around 18000. To stand any chance he has to go beyond a double Kaio Ken."
Everyone frowned sadly at that.
"Impressive," said Goku with a smirk. "We've just begun to fight, and already his speed and technique have far surpassed mine. This is exciting."
Everyone sweatdropped at Goku's words.
Except for Natsu, he grinned. "Oh man, I really wish I could fight this guy myself. I'm getting fired up."
Everyone sighed at that. Both Goku and Natsu were so similar when it came to fighting strong opponents. Not to mention that they both loved food.
"Now show me," said Vegeta with a cocky smile. "C'mon, have you used up all that strength you've been hiding?"
"You wanna see," said Goku with a smirk. "Fine then."
Goku began to concentrate. And a white glow began to surround his body. A fiery red aura suddenly engulfed the Saiyan's body. Goku looked at Vegeta with a determined look.
"KAIO KEN."
A shockwave of power made the rocky formation that Vegeta was standing on fall apart. The Prince dodged the attack. But he was caught off guard by the sudden increase of speed and power of his opponent. Goku was in Vegeta's face in an instant. And landed a powerful blow on his face. Having penetrated his opponent's defense. Goku followed through with his attack and landed a series of blows on the Saiyan Prince's stomach area with his left fist. Which made The Saiyan cough out a little bit of blood. Goku then landed a kick that sent Vegeta flying.
Everyone cheered at that.
"Yeah, that's the way, Goku," said Gajeel with a grin. "Kick that bastard's ass."
Gildarts however frowned. He had a feeling this wasn't going to be enough to damage the Prince.
And the crash mage was right. While Vegeta was flying through the air from Goku's kick. The evil Saiyan recovered from Goku's attacks. And right before Goku could land another hit. Vegeta disappeared from Goku's sight. He then appeared in front of him and landed a devastating right kick to our hero's face.
"Dammit," said Gray, annoyed. "It looks like that wasn't enough to hurt him."
Marakov sighed sadly. "Yes, as I said before. Goku has to go beyond a double Kaio Ken to inflict any sort of damage to him."
Vegeta smirked at his opponent. "If that's your limit of what you have to offer, then I'm surely disappointed."
"This guy is brutal," said Goku with a worried look. But he suddenly chuckled. "Then again, for all the trouble I'm facing. I'm beginning to get even more excited."
Everyone chuckled nervously at Goku's words.
"He sure has become a lot less scared since he fought with Raditz," said Lucy.
Everyone nodded at that.
"Yes, he sure has," said Erza with a smile.
"He's laughing," thought Vegeta annoyed. "Has he lost his mind or has he given up all hope? Perhaps he can raise his power even higher, and he's trying to disguise it."
Vegeta began to provoke his opponent.
"C'mon, are you done already? I guess you're all talk then, huh? In that case, allow me to show you something before you die." Vegeta smirked. "The overwhelming power of a Saiyan Super Elite. Soon you will join your friends in oblivion."
Everyone glared at Vegeta's words.
"It looks like he has decided to show his true power," said Laxus with a frown.
"Yes," said Marakov sadly. "I just hope Goku is able to withstand his opponent's strength."
Everyone was shocked at what happened next. Vegeta began to power up. And thunderclouds began to cover the sky. The rock formations around the battlefield began to levitate into the air by the fearsome power that was radiating from Vegeta's body.
"T-this, this is nuts," said Gray with an awed look. "How can a single person's power have such devastating effects on the area around him?"
"It's surreal," said Laxus with widened eyes. "Even the weather is changing."
Erza was shocked. Ki was even more destructive than she originally thought. "Please be safe, Goku," thought the scarlet mage worriedly.
A yellow electric aura began to engulf the Prince.
Goku's eyes widened in horror. "No way. His power is incredible, it's like the whole planet is shaking."
Natsu had to admit it. Even though this Vegeta was rotten to the core. He really was incredibly strong. He really hoped he could someday learn to use this Ki himself.
Flashes of Lightning and thunder began to appear in the sky. And Vegeta's body began to produce fearsome winds that struck Goku's body. The Saiyan from Earth tried to protect himself from the heavy winds.
"This wind is like, a hurricane."
Vegeta yelled out a powerful scream that made a huge shockwave that desolated the area. A huge blinding light engulfed the whole battlefield.
"This is insane," said Lucy with an incredible amount of fear. "This destructive power reminds me of Acnologia."
Gildarts nodded at that. "Yes, you're not wrong about that."
Every mage swallowed nervously. This Ki was really on a different level compared to magic. At least in destructive nature.
When the light vanished, everything on the battlefield became calm.
Goku looked around him while he kept his guard up. "That's strange. The wind just stopped. Wait… all of the clouds have disappeared too."
"The calm before storm," said Marakov seriously. "I guess we will find out what this Vegeta can really do when he's serious."
They all nodded grimly.
Goku looked toward his opponent.
The Prince had an evil smirk on his face. "It's done, Kakarot."
Goku couldn't fathom his opponent's increased speed. In an instant, Vegeta headbutted his opponent. And gave an elbow strike that sent our hero toward the ground at fast speeds. Goku recovered from the hit and landed on a rocky formation. He began to look left and right for his opponent. But he wasn't able to sense him.
"Hey, stupid. Behind you."
Goku was unable to defend himself fast enough from Vegeta's strong attack. He was struck with a devastating kick that made him fly through the air. But Goku recovered from the unexpected hit and moved towards a rocky pillar. He again lost track of his opponent. But he was able to locate him above.
Vegeta smirked as he launched a red Ki blast with fire properties toward his opponent. Goku was able to dodge it by using the Kaio Ken times two. However, Vegeta launched another fiery Ki blast while Goku was in mid-air. Our hero was barely able to avoid the attack from hurting him. Though it did destroy a huge part of his clothes.
Everyone sighed in relief.
"That was a close one," said Elfman while he was wiping away some sweat. "Vegeta's abilities have gained an incredible boost in both speed and power. It's not looking good for Goku."
Gildarts nodded at the takeover mage's words. "I'm afraid you're right. Goku's only choice now is to raise his power even higher. But as we all know, it won't come without side effects."
They all nodded sadly.
Vegeta chuckled. "Aha, well done. You dodged it. Of course, I made that one easy. After all, it wouldn't be any fun if you died right away."
Canna gritted her teeth in anger. She began to really hate Vegeta's guts.
Goku landed on the ground while his opponent did the same.
"Damm, his speed and power are unreal. Even my times two Kaio Ken isn't enough to keep up with him." Goku smiled as he ripped off the remains of his upper clothing.
The girls blushed at seeing Goku's naked upper body in full view.
Devil Mira smirked in her mind. "Oh my, what a delicious view."
Mira began to turn cherry red at her devil self's words.
Erza couldn't help herself but take in every inch of Goku's muscular body. Her face began to gain the same color as her hair.
"That leaves only one thing. This may destroy my body, but it's better than dying. My only choice is to go, Kaio Ken, times three."
Everyone was worried about Goku's words.
"I was afraid this was going to happen," said Mira with a worried look.
Lucy nodded sadly at that.
The screen suddenly showed a familiar figure who was hiding behind the rocks.
"Isn't that…. Mr. Yajirobe," said Wendy shocked. "What is he doing there?"
Natsu snorted. "Hiding from the looks of it."
Erza sighed sadly at her fellow sword user.
"I got this close, so sure I said. I stay and watch. But I never expected to see this. Both Goku and that Saiyan jerk are so strong. It's really freaking me out."
"Well, you can't argue with that. Though, I must say. For being scared out of his mind. I'm surprised he hasn't run away yet," said Lisanna curiously.
Gajeel shrugged his shoulders. "Meh, I guess he's still a warrior at heart. And maybe because deep down, he's afraid of seeing Goku getting hurt."
Erza smiled at that. "I hope you're right, Gajeel."
The screen changed back towards the battlefield.
"Alright. So the big question is, how long will my body be able to hold out once I go, Kaio Ken, times three," thought Goku.
Vegeta smirked. "Why the hesitation? Your move, Kakarot."
"It's my only option at this point. I have to pull out all the stops just to survive."
"Goku, please be careful," said Mira with a worried look.
Everyone else was also afraid for Goku's well-being. The Kaio Ken was a very powerful technique. But the drawbacks were immense if you could not correctly control the huge amount of energy.
"There is nothing we can do, I'm afraid," said Marakov sadly. "Let's hope Goku will be able to sustain the technique long enough to do some damage to Vegeta."
They all nodded.
Vegeta laughed. "No more of those trick moves up your sleeve? Not that they would do you much good. Even among the other Saiyans. I was always the most powerful by far. I don't care if you trained every minute of your entire life for this. You will always and forever be a lower-ranked outcast and nothing more."
Everyone gritted their teeth. And they all clenched their fists in anger.
"Show this bastard how wrong he is, Goku," said Natsu.
"Yeah, show him that you're a real man."
"Kick his ass," said Gray through his anger.
The screen momentarily changed towards Yajirobe.
"Uh-oh, that Saiyan has Goku over a barrel. Maybe now it's a good time to bug out of here. I mean, I could help him. But what good would it do? Yeah, time to go. Besides, I'm starting to get hungry. Nothing worse than missing a meal."
Everyone sweatdropped at the swordsman's words.
"He really is a strange individual, isn't he," said Gildarts.
Marakov nodded with a chuckle. "That he is. But at least he's honest. And I think he's right. Even if he helped Goku or not. It won't make much of a difference."
They all nodded. It's better for him to leave the battlefield.
The screen changed back toward the fight. Goku closed his eyes and began to concentrate. His muscle mass began to increase.
Canna smirked. "Oh yeah, momma likes what she sees," the card mage thought.
"BODY, DON'T FAIL ME NOW! KAIO KEN TIMES THREE!"
The image changed again. This time toward King Kai.
"No, no. I told you not to go over two times power. What are you thinking?" King Kai sighed sadly. "Well, I guess, it didn't really look like Goku was going to win. Especially against an opponent this powerful." North Kai gained a hopeless look on his face. "This battle may be over."
Everyone clenched their fists.
Erza frowned. "This battle isn't over. Not by a long shot."
Everyone nodded seriously.
A red aura began to surround our hero. He began to scream out loudly.
The mages were worried as Goku's body began to produce hot steam.
"Is that normal," said Lucy with a frown. "And that painful scream. It's almost like he's hurting himself."
Mira gained a sad look. "He must be pushing his body way beyond his limits. I can't imagine the pain he must be experiencing right now."
Everyone nodded sadly.
The screen changed towards Kame house. Everyone was sitting around the table. The Scouter that Bulma was wearing began to beep like crazy.
"Hey, what's the matter," said Roshi, as he saw Bulma's worried face.
"Did something happen, Bulma," asked Oolong.
"It's probably coming from, Goku," said the blue-haired beauty. "But the power level I'm reading is, well, it's shooting up like crazy."
The mages smiled at that. But they were still worried. Goku's body wasn't strong enough yet to keep up the Kaio Ken times three for long periods of time.
"Goku," said Ox King with worry.
Chichi gave her blue-haired friend a surprised look. "Are you serious?"
"17000, 19000, 21000." The Scouter suddenly exploded.
Levi sighed sadly. "Oh, that poor machine. It must have been overwhelmed by all that power that's coming from Goku."
"Yeah, he has already surpassed Vegeta in power now," said Lucy with a smile.
"True enough," said Gray with a grin.
The screen changed again. This time to Gohan and Krillin. The little boy stopped in mid-air and turned around in shock. Gohan's eyes showed surprise and amazement but mostly worry.
"Gohan," said Mira sadly.
The mages frowned sadly at the little boy.
The screen changed again towards the fight. Goku's body began to produce extremely harsh winds.
Vegeta was shocked as he looked at his opponent. "What the…."
The mages smirked at the Prince's shocked look.
Goku, without warning, rushed toward his opponent with incredible speed. The screen stopped for a minute while Goku was rushing toward Vegeta. They all could hear the storyteller's voice.
"Goku defies the teachings of King Kai and uses the Kaio Ken times three. Will his body be able to withstand this onslaught of power? Find out…. Now."
(Hah, you all thought this was the end, didn't you? Lol.)
Natsu sighed in relief. "Few. For a minute, I thought we had to go on another break. That would have certainly sucked."
Gajeel nodded in agreement. "Especially on such a huge cliffhanger."
Malia chuckled. "Sorry about that. I just couldn't resist."
Everyone sweatdropped at Malia's sense of humor.
The screen started again.
Goku rushed at his opponent at such speed, and sucker punched him right in the face. Vegeta was unable to keep up with Goku anymore. He tried to hit his opponent with an energy blast. But Goku easily dodged it and kicked him downwards through a rocky formation.
Vegeta exploded with anger, and the area he was sent to got destroyed.
He glared at his opponent. "Darn you."
Gajeel smirked. "Well, you really asked for it yourself, dude. It's your own fault."
The mages nodded at that. Nappa and Vegeta not only killed a City full of innocent civilians. But they also killed four of Goku's friends. He deserved everything that Goku was doing to him.
Vegeta tried to hit Goku as he came flying towards him. But Goku dodged and appeared behind the Prince. He struck him so hard that it made him fly through the air. But Vegeta recovered and tried to hit Goku with Ki enhanced punch. Goku easily dodged it and countered with a punch of his own that struck the Saiyan Prince right in the gut.
Vegeta held his stomach in pain. Blood and saliva fell from his mouth. "How is this happening," thought the Saiyan Prince in denial.
Natsu grinned. "Easy, Goku punched you in the stomach really hard."
"Aye, that he did," said Happy with a cheer.
Everyone chuckled at Natsu's words.
Mira gave a worried look as she saw the state Goku was in. He was getting worn out fast. And was breathing heavily. If this continues any longer. Goku will lose before he has the chance to defeat Vegeta.
The fight continued, with Goku dominating the fight the whole time. He struck the Prince with devastating blows that made him scream in pain.
Most of the sensitive mages flinched when they heard the Prince's painful screams.
"Damm, that has to hurt," said Elfman with a shudder.
Lisanna could only nod at her brother's words.
Goku was now pummeling Vegeta in the air. He grabbed hold of the Prince and flew downwards to a rocky formation. When Vegeta's body came in contact with the pillar. Goku used this momentum and landed a devastating blow with his knee. The Prince gasped in pain from the painful blow. Goku landed with difficulty on the ground below. While the Prince was still lying on the rock formation in agonizing pain.
"Damm," said Laxus with an impressive look. "That was some move. Using that rock formation to soften the impact for himself. Not to mention using the opportunity to further damage his opponent by using that devastating knee strike."
Marakov nodded. "Yes, very impressive indeed. Goku certainly is a genius on the battlefield."
Lucy smiled. Another thing Goku had in common with her boyfriend.
"I refuse to believe this," thought Vegeta while still holding his stomach in pain. "It's not possible for Kakarot's power level to exceed my own."
Canna smirked. "Too bad for you, Veggie. It is."
Everyone laughed at the nickname Canna came up with for the Saiyan Prince.
Goku was breathing heavily. And when he saw his opponent standing up again, he was shocked.
"Are you kidding me? Man, he's tough. So much for trying to settle this quickly." Goku gasped in pain as he felt the results of using the Kaio Ken times three. "Just, ignore the pain."
Erza, Mira, and the rest of the girls' eyes were full of worry.
"He's pushing himself way too hard. At this rate, his body will give out before he can defeat his opponent," said Mira sadly.
Erza grabbed her heart in pain as she saw the state Goku was in. "Please, Goku. Don't push yourself so hard," thought the scarlet mage with sadness.
Vegeta glared at his opponent. "I belong to the upper echelon of the most elite warrior class the Universe has ever seen. I will not be bested. Certainly not by some low-born amateur like you."
The Prince screamed out in anger. "I AM THE GREATEST WARRIOR WHO HAS EVER LIVED!"
The mages frowned at the Prince.
"Man, that guy had some serious mental issues," said Gray with a snort.
"Yeah, he's throwing a tantrum like a little kid," said Gajeel.
Goku didn't hear the Prince, though. He was having issues himself.
"Using the three times Kaio Ken really does a number on my body. I don't think I can keep this up. If this drags out for too much longer, I'm done for."
"Goku," thought everyone worriedly.
Vegeta wiped his face with his glove. What he saw made him even angrier.
"Blood? My noble blood spilled by the sheer luck of such, such thrash? No. No, I will not allow this to stand."
Vegeta screamed out in anger. "I CANNOT ALLOW THIS TO STAND!"
"He's gone bananas," said Charla with a scared look.
"YOUR INSOLENCE JUST COST YOU THIS WORLD! I'LL BLOW IT ALL TO PIECES, AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP ME!"
"HE'S GONNA DO WHAT," yelled the mages in Horror.
Vegeta blasted into the sky. A purple aura surrounded him. "Try to dodge it if you can. You might manage to save yourself. But your precious Earth is doomed."
"No, this can't be happening," said Lucy with tears in her eyes. "Goku is worn out. He won't be able to counter that."
"Dammit," said Gray in frustration. "How is Goku going to survive this?"
Goku was at a loss. "He's got me. What can I do?" After a few seconds of thinking, Goku's eyes gained a determined look. "I gotta risk it."
The mages looked at Goku in amazement as he powered up into his Kaio Ken times three state. And took on a familiar stance.
"He's really going to counter that? In the state his body is in," said Levi in shock.
Mira couldn't believe this. "Goku's body has gone through so much pain. And yet he is willing to put his life on the line so he could save everyone he cares about."
"We shouldn't be surprised about this," said Laxus with a grin. "After all, Goku is going to be a future member of Fairy Tail and a member of the Thunder God Tribe."
Fried, Evergreen, and Bickslow nodded with a smirk.
Natsu glared at Laxus. "I still have not agreed to that. If there's anyone's team, Goku is joining. It's ours."
Marakov sighed at their children's antics.
Erza marveled at the determination Goku had. The scarlet mage smiled softly. "He really is something else. Going through all that pain. To save the ones who are not only precious to him. But the innocent people who live on that Planet."
Erza gained a small blush. "I guess that's why I admire him so much. His desire to save others who are weaker than him. How he selfishly put himself in danger to protect his family and friends. I guess it comes as no surprise that I have fallen for him," thought Erza.
Goku began to chant his signature technique.
"KA-ME."
"It's hopeless. There's no way you can stop my Galick Gun," said Vegeta with a mocking tone.
But Goku continued his chant. "HA-ME."
Both opponents were releasing so much power that the ground was crumbling around them. The mage's mouth and eyes were wide open at this spectacular display of power.
"I have a feeling something crazy is about to happen," said Lucy with a nervous smile.
"Prepare to join this orb in oblivion."
Vegeta unleashed the most powerful attack he had in his arsenal. At the same time, Goku unleashed his own.
"GALICK GUN FIRE!"
"HAAAAA!"
Goku's Kamehameha collided with Vegeta's Galick Gun. And they both were struggling for dominance.
"SOOO COOL," yelled Natsu and Happy with stars in their eyes.
"SO MANLY!"
"Wow, awesome," said Gray with a grin.
"Impossible," said Vegeta in denial. "His blast is the same as my Galick gun."
Both attacks were pushing against each other. And it looked like Vegeta's attack was going to win. Until Goku pushed his limits once again.
"KAIO KEN TIMES FOUR!"
An enormous amount of energy erupted from Goku and amplified the Kamehameha's power. It easily overwhelmed Vegeta's attack and pushed the evil Saiyan into the sky.
"NOOO," yelled the Saiyan Prince in anger.
The mages cheered.
"He did it," said Lucy with a smile.
"Hell yeah," said Natsu with a grin. "I knew Goku wouldn't lose."
Goku was exhausted. He fell to his knees in pain.
The mages were worried when they Goku's state.
"He really overdid it with that last attack," said Mira worriedly. "He's completely worn out."
Canna nodded. "Yeah, the poor guy must be tired beyond belief."
The screen changed towards, Yajirobe, who pushed a huge rock that fell on top of him.
"Yajirobe is still there," said Lisanna surprised. "I thought he left the battlefield a long time ago?"
"Me too," said Lucy confused.
Yajirobe looked at the outcome of the battle in amazement.
"What the hell….? He did it. He actually did it." Yajirobe smiled as ran towards our hero. "GOKU! YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARD!"
Everyone laughed at Yajirobe's choice of words. Though, Erza, Canna, and even Mira frowned at the bastard part.
Goku looked surprised when he saw the swordsman. "Yajirobe, what in the world are you doing out here?"
"Well, uh… someone had to keep an eye on you. Strong as you are, you almost got your butt handed to you a couple of times, huh."
Lucy sighed. "Why am I not surprised by that."
Lisanna chuckled. "Maybe because Natsu has done that plenty of times too."
Natsu nervously scratched his head.
Goku chuckled at his friend's words. "I guess."
Yajirobe smiled. "Yeah. But hey, way to launch that alien dude into orbit. I knew you come through in the end. Nice one."
Yajirobe gave a small pat on Goku's shoulder. But that small pat was enough to make Goku scream out in pain.
"DAMMIT, YAJIROBE," yelled Mira angrily. "GOKU IS STILL RECOVERING FROM HIS FIGHT. DON'T BE SO ROUGH WITH HIM!"
The males got scared by Mira's outburst.
"What happened," said Yajirobe confused. "I barely touched you."
"I may have pushed my body a bit past its limit," said Goku with a painful look.
"Yeah, no kidding," said Lucy with a sigh. "Honestly, what a reckless thing to do."
The mages could only nod at that.
"Well, I guess I'm not surprised. You were on fire."
Goku gave his friend an urgent look. "Listen to me. You gotta get out of here. It's not safe yet."
All the mages were surprised at that.
"Wait, does that mean Vegeta hasn't been defeated yet," said Lisanna in shock.
"Unbelievable," said Gray in annoyance. "This guy must be durable if he can come back from an attack like that."
Yajirobe was confused. "What are you talking about? Wait, you don't mean…."
Goku nodded. "He's still out there somewhere. No way that was all it took to finish a guy like that off."
Marakov sighed. "I had my suspicion that Vegeta was able to survive that attack."
Gildarts nodded. "Yes, me too."
Yajirobe smirked. "Ah, who cares. Let him come back if he wants. I mean, you just blow him away again, right?"
"Well, not necessarily. My body is pretty worn out. That might have been all I got in me."
"Goku," thought everyone worriedly.
Yajirobe got nervous. "You don't say. Ohhh, look at the time I gotta go. Don't worry, though, I will be here in spirit."
All the mages sighed at Yajirobe's antics.
The screen changed towards Vegeta. Who was still been carried by Goku's attack. But through some effort, the Saiyan Prince was able to escape the Kamehameha.
Vegeta yelled in anger. "NOOO! NO LOW-CLASS BOTTOM FEEDER CAN SURPASS ME IN STRENGTH! IT'S UNTHINKABLE! I AM NOT JUST A SAIYAN! I AM THE COMBINATION OF EVERYTHING SUPERIOR IN THE SAIYAN RACE!"
"That guy has gone completely insane," said Canna with a sigh.
Lucy nodded. "I'll say. He has a superiority complex."
Vegeta suddenly smirked. "As much as I hate that it comes to this. It seems I have no choice. I'll transform into a great ape and grind him to a pulp." Vegeta began to look around for the moon. But he couldn't find it anywhere. "Wait a minute, where is the full moon? I should be able to see it now."
The mages grinned. It was a good idea of Piccolo to destroy the moon. Without it, Vegeta won't be able to transform.
The screen changed to King Kai's Planet. Who was keeping an eye on the Saiyan Prince.
"Search all you want," said the deity with a chuckle. "There won't be a full moon out tonight. Or ever again, for that matter. Piccolo suspected you try something like this and took steps to prevent that from happening long before you got there."
The mages gained a soft smile as they remembered Piccolo. Even though he was harsh in the beginning. He slowly came around and became a good person thanks to Gohan's influence.
King Kai frowned. "Still, even in his normal form, that Saiyan is more than a match for Goku. But he has been weakened by the battle. If Goku can muster the strength, for one all-out attack. He might still have a chance."
"Easier said than done," said Canna with a frown. "What can he possibly do when he's in such a state?"
Marakov suddenly smiled. "Well, you all seem to have forgotten about another technique Goku has learned recently."
Everyone looked confused at first. But Levi suddenly slapped her head.
"Of course, how could I forget."
"Wait, of course. The spirit bomb. Hit him with the Spirit Bomb, Goku, and you can't lose," said King Kai.
"I almost forgot about that technique," said Lucy with an embarrassed chuckle.
"Yeah, me too," said Lisanna with an equally embarrassed face.
Mira sighed. "The spirit bomb is a good idea. However, Goku has to concentrate on gathering the energy required for using it."
Laxus nodded in agreement. "Yes, and I doubt his opponent would allow him to stay still for so long."
"Yes, that's true," said Gildarts with a frown.
The scene changed again towards Goku. Who was waiting for Vegeta to come back down. After a while, Vegeta finally decided to return.
"It's about time he came back down. The only way to take him out now is with the spirit bomb. I'm just wondering if I could stay focused long enough."
"It will be difficult, that's for sure," said Juvia with a thoughtful look.
"Yes," said Erza with a worried look. "Especially if his opponent won't allow him to stay still and focus on gathering the energy he needs."
Vegeta smirked. "Kakarot. Rather clever of you, blasting the moon right out of the sky. But I'm afraid it was all for nothing."
The mages were worried when they Vegeta's words.
"What does he mean by that," asked Wendy, a bit worried.
Lucy frowned. "I don't know. Guess we will find out."
Goku looked confused. "What? Why would I do that?"
Vegeta chuckled. "Fine, go ahead and play dumb. But I'm curious do you even know why it is we Saiyans transform when we see a full moon?"
"Oh, so we're finally getting to know the secret behind that transformation," said Levi with an intriguing look.
"Seems so. Honestly, I'm quite curious about that too," said Mira with a thoughtful look.
"Wait? We do what," said Goku surprised.
"The moon appears lit only because it reflects the light of the Sun. But when the Sunlight is bounced from the lunar surface, it causes a slight shift in the wavelength. Creating what we Saiyans call a Blutzwave."
"Blutzwave, huh," said Levi with a thoughtful look. "What an interesting name."
"And when the moon is full, their intensity is over 17 million Zenos."
"Uhm, I'm afraid you lost me there," said Goku, confused.
Everyone chuckled at Goku's confused face. Except for Natsu. He scratched his head. "Yeah, me too, actually."
Lucy giggled at that.
"Once 17 million Zenos are absorbed by the Saiyan redna. Our bodies respond to chemical reaction produced in the tail. And we transform," said Vegeta with a smirk.
"Oh, so that's how it works," said Lisanna. "But that still doesn't explain why Vegeta said that blasting the moon out of the sky was all for nothing."
Mira narrowed her eyes. She had a feeling Vegeta was going to explain that right now. And take over mage was right.
"Among the elite of our race, there are those capable of producing a satellite with the emissions of Zeno's necessary to affect the change. And as luck would have it, I'm such an elite."
"Oh no," said Lucy in shock.
"Dammit," said Laxus with a frown. "So everything Piccolo did to prevent this was all for nothing."
Erza clenched her fists in frustration. "This doesn't look good for, Goku."
"Observe when my power ball mixes with the oxygen in this atmosphere." Vegeta began to produce a white orb in his right hand. "Sorry about giving you false hope, Kakarot. This nonsense should have been over by now. Let this be a lesson to all low-class punks like yourself who dare challenge his superiors on the battlefield."
The mages clenched their fists in anger.
"Damm, that bastard," said Canna with gritted teeth. "Goku was winning, and now he's going to pull a stunt like that?"
"Remember, Canna," said Gildarts with a frown. "To Vegeta, this is a battle to the death. He will do anything to win."
Marakov sighed sadly. "Yes, I'm afraid you're right."
Goku looked confused. "When that power ball thing of his appeared, his energy dropped. Why would he risk a move like that? What is he planning to do?"
"Goku still hasn't figured out yet what his opponent is planning to do," said Mira worriedly. "He still hasn't made the connection between the moon and Saiyans having the ability to transform."
Laxus frowned sadly. "I'm afraid he will soon enough."
The mages gained a sad look. They just hoped Goku wouldn't find out that he was responsible for his grandfather's dad. That would probably hurt him more than any physical wound would do.
Vegeta laughed as he launched the power ball into the Sky. "Burst open and mix."
Vegeta's power ball grew in size and took the appearance of a full moon.
The mages gritted their teeth in frustration.
"Dammit, he really did it," said Gajeel with a glare. "He made a moon."
"Please, Goku," said Mira worriedly. "Be safe."
Goku looked shocked. "What is that? What have you done?"
Vegeta laughed. "Boy, would that long-lost tail of yours ever come in handy right about now."
The mages glared at the Prince's words.
"You coward," said Juvia with a glare.
The changes of Vegeta's appearance began to change a bit. Just like Gohan, he was in some sort of trance. His heart started beating loudly.
The screen changed towards King Kai for a bit. "Goku," said the deity sadly as he fell to his knees. "It's all over now."
"Don't say that, King Kai," said Lisanna with hope in her eyes. "I'm sure everything will turn out alright. It has to."
They all nodded.
The screen changed back towards the battlefield. The mages saw that Vegeta had finished his transformation.
Canna snorted. "Gohan looked a lot cuter when he transformed."
Mira nodded in agreement. "Right you are."
Lucy sweatdropped. "You two thought Gohan was cute when transformed?"
Lisanna chuckled. "But of course. He looked like a cute monkey. And Gohan still had that innocent look in his eyes."
Lucy chuckled nervously. "Innocent look, huh? I'm afraid I didn't see that."
The scene changed again. This time to Gohan and Krillin. Krillin stopped and looked in the direction they came from.
"Hey, see that? It's hovering over the location we came from, isn't it?"
Gohan looked surprised when he saw the glowing orb.
"Wow. Do you feel that power?"
Gohan nodded. "But that could be good. I mean it could be dad's power, right?"
The mages frowned sadly at the boy's words.
"I'm afraid not, Gohan," said Mira sadly.
"No, sorry. There's no mistaking where that energy is coming from. It's crazy. That guy's strength is totally off the charts. What's going on down there?"
Gohan gained a worried look. "My dad is….."
The young boy suddenly showed a determined look. All the mages suddenly had a feeling about what Gohan was planning to do.
"No, Gohan, please," said Mira worriedly. "It's not safe for you there."
"I have to go back. He needs me."
Natsu smiled at that. He would probably do the same thing if Igneel was still alive and in trouble.
"But he told us to get out of there?"
"Look, I can't explain it," said Gohan. "But I know my dad's in danger. If I don't help him, something terrible is gonna happen."
Erza smiled softly. "Oh, Gohan. You are such a caring child."
Lucy nodded with a smile. "Gohan reminds me a lot of Wendy."
The girl in question blushed at that.
Charla nodded. "Right you are. Wendy and Gohan are very similar in personalities."
"Oh, c'mon, man. This is Goku we're talking about. I mean, the guy eats danger for breakfast."
Everyone chuckled at Krillin's attempt to cheer Gohan up.
"Somehow, it won't surprise me if he did," said Lucy with a sweatdrop.
Lisanna chuckled. "Yes, me too."
"Besides, how can a couple of runts like us help out someone as powerful as your dad?"
Gohan clenched his fists. "Yeah, you're probably right."
Mira sighed in relief as she heard Gohan's words. But relief vanished when Gohan continued.
"So what." The boy's eyes were full of determination. "I have to go back. That's all there is to it."
Gajeel smirked at the young boy's courage. "Good for you, kid."
Marakov chuckled. "The boy certainly has changed a lot, hasn't he?"
Gildarts nodded with a smile. "That he has."
Mira looked on sadly as she saw Gohan fly towards the battlefield. With Krillin following behind him.
"Gohan. I know there's nothing I can do to help you," thought the takeover mage. "But please, stay safe. And you too, Krillin."
The screen changed towards the battlefield again. Where they saw a fully transformed Vegeta trying to beat Goku to a pulp. Luckily, Goku managed to evade the Prince's attacks so far. The mages sighed in relief. For now, Goku was still safe. But how long could Goku keep this up?
They suddenly heard the Storyteller in the background.
"Having backed into a corner by Goku. The evil Saiyan Prince Vegeta revealed his ability to create a fake moon. Now, transformed into a Great ape. His speed and power have gained an incredible boost. Will Goku be able to overcome this fearsome creature? And will Gohan and Krillin be able to help? Find out next time."
The mages sighed at the voice. "Damm. I hoped we could see a bit more before we took another break," said Gajeel.
Levi nodded. "Yeah, me too. Though, I am getting a bit hungry."
Elfman nodded. "Yeah, I'm starving."
Malia giggled. "Well, you all know the drill by now. Take some rest and have some food. And when you want to react again, you know where to find me."
They all nodded. The mages stood up and left the reaction room.
