Days pass and the process of finding the boy did not go according to plan. Did we in fact find him? Yes. But at a cost to see that the Avengers are here too. Archard had been located in the middle of town with American soldiers, some Sokovian ones, Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. I had been at a 20 feet distance when I found him, listening to their thoughts to see what I could find. It was not good news so I rushed back to the compound and warned Strucker of what I saw and heard. They are on their way here now that Archard gave them information they needed.

BOOM! The sound of a bomb strikes in the woods, making the compound shake. Myself and the twins are in the command room with Strucker, some of the tech people and soldiers. We are all watching on the cameras to see that the Avengers made it to us as another bomb and gunfire echoes from afar and the soldiers start to run out of the room now and through the main door to lead into a hallway. I can't help but to look at them as they do. A sound of rumbling comes from outside, a loud roar of what sounds like a monster is visible from here. The fact that it is the Avengers then that roar is from the Hulk, a huge green giant man. If I remember correctly Strucker has told us that this guy pretty much has no control of his anger and destroys anything in his path, which makes him the perfect weapon of chaos.

"They're almost here, sir." One of the soldiers say.

"How are they getting through our defenses?" Strucker asks in frustration as I'm standing beside him.

"They're the Avengers." The man says in confusion because it's obvious.

He takes a breath, "No mercy." He tells him and automatically the man picks up a wired phone from his part of the command room, repeating the orders to the people outside.

"We should send the kids." Someone else says now.

It kind of seems like he wasn't paying attention to him as he looks at me, "You are to protect this compound." He turns his head to stare at the twins who are now behind him, "From the Avengers."

I smirk a bit, straightening up like a true soldier and my eyes turn blue in anticipation. "Yes, sir." Then I stare at the twins as I hear both of their voices in my head, scattered but noticeable. On the outside they have stern expressions, ready for battle. But on the inside they are scared. For the last few days since I was assigned to capture this boy they've both been a little off, scattered even. It's like they are here but not really here. Wanda especially seems like she's not into me anymore from how distant she's been. I won't lie, it hurts to know that she may hate me or not want to be with me. But I haven't been able to process it all from being so invested in this task.

"That's my girl." Strucker says with a smile, "You can give your heroes a proper thank you for saving your life all those years ago." That sentence slightly confuses me, my heroes?

"Stark however is ours." Pietro says and that thought leaves me as he walks closer and stands beside me now.

I nod in reassurance, "Wouldn't have it any other way." I feel strange as I say this. I can't be sure why it's strange but I don't think twice about it.

"You two go." Strucker tells the twins, "Madison we need to get to the weapons room."

I stare in a bit of confusion, raising one of my eyebrows. I even see the twins staring as if that's an odd thing to do when the Avengers are here and we're the only ones with powers. "I'm not needed in the field?"

"Once you help me you are free to join the twins."

I press my lips together but nod, knowing not to argue. "Yes, sir."

"Good girl." He smiles and sets a hand to my shoulder, "Come." He walks off and I turn around to follow him as he tells the twins to go.

They both give me one last look of hesitation, seeming to not be sure how to react before Pietro lifts his sister into his arms and rushes off in a streak of silver.

I keep my pace with Strucker as we fast pace down the hallway, but before I can keep going he grabs onto my arm and tells me that we actually need to go to the bottom floor where the trucks are. I realize immediately that he doesn't plan to stay here and is trying to leave. I can't help but stare at him in disbelief for a second before I nod because I know better than to question him. So instead of running down the hall we take the staircase to get to the bottom floor of the compound.

My mind is focused on incoming voices that aren't from our side, staring around and listening as we go. Then I feel a flood of emotions, the energy feeling like they are hyped up and ready to fight. I tilt my head a bit, hearing footsteps coming from downstairs. "Someone's here and it doesn't sound like one of ours."

"On your toes." He pulls out a gun and opens the door from the floor we ended up on, "Through here, we'll find another way."

I nod, holding my palm in an upward position and spark out a blue flame. Then I take a breath and follow through the door, but we don't get down the hall fast enough before the door we went through opens and we both turn to the voice telling us to stop. My hands are aiming at the intruder. A tall tanned boy with dirty-blonde hair and brown eyes runs through. He looks out of breath as he looks at us.

"Let her go Strucker!" The boy yells towards us and his hand swipes the air which has Strucker get knocked onto the floor. "Maddie, come on!"

I look behind me to make sure Strucker isn't seriously hurt before staring back at the boy in confusion, not moving toward him like he asked. My eyes turn blue, the flames in my hands getting bigger because my target is finally in front of me.

Strucker just laughs as he gets to his feet, "She doesn't know you anymore, Archard."

The boy's face drops, his arms at his sides and standing still as if he doesn't know how to react. "M-Maddie?"

"She's loyal to me now."

"Capture or kill?" I ask in a tone that I'm ready for my orders, my gaze not leaving the boy.

"What did you do to her!"

I see Strucker starting to back away, "Teach him a lesson."

I smirk, the flames rising from my hands and into the air. "Yes, sir."

"Madison, no!" the boy yells at me and has to move out of the way when I throw one of the flames at him. He barrel rolls onto the floor and gets to his feet immediately after, having to dodge again as I throw the next one. This time after he maneuvers around it he runs straight toward me.

I glare at him with my flamed eyes and then run towards him too, anger on my face. I throw another flame as I get closer and he tosses it aside with a wave of his hand, making the colors of our green and blue powers collide. Once I'm closer I swing my fist at his face and he dodges it, making me miss him completely. Then I jab towards his stomach and he blocks it with his arm as he backs away a bit and swings back at me. I step backwards from his punch and then side jab him to his ribs, catching him with my right hook and he groans out in pain.

"Madison, please!" He blocks another punch from me and then gets a couple of punches to my ribs and even a punch to the face before he grabs my arm and pins me to the wall, "It's Archie!"

A soft throb to my head from hearing the name and I see a flash of what seems to be a memory, but I shake it away and snarl at him. "I'm not joining your damn team!"

For a split second I notice his face drops in what seems to be confusion and this moment of letting his guard down allows me to elbow him in the stomach and then swipe his foot from under him. He goes down and lands onto his back, sounding as if it hurts because there is a loud thud. "D-Damn it, Maddie."

I stare down at him, flames seeping out of my hands again. I'm panting from exhaustion and notice that he's doing the same as he rolls onto his stomach and starts to get to his feet again. So in my last attempt to stop him I allow the fire in my hands to get larger and then toss it at him to form a wall of fire around the boy. "Surrender or die, Avenger."

I can't see the boy but I can hear him coughing from the flames around him. "Maddie, stop!"

"Surrender or die!" I say again, now holding both of my hands out towards the flames in a way where if he doesn't give up I intend to slam the circle of fire in on him. However, before I can do more I see the shimmering from the flames stop moving. I slant my eyebrows in confusion and then a silhouette pops out and right through them. The boy is now standing in the flames and then outside of it. He froze my fire. Why does this look so familiar?

Tears are in his eyes, taking deep breaths as if he can't breathe that well. Obviously this would make sense since I was suffocating him. Then he raises his hand and swipes it sideways. That's when I feel myself go flying and crash into a wall. I grunt from the pain when the side of my body hits it and then I fall onto the ground.

I pant and stare over at the boy, coughing a little bit. "You'll...regret this." I say in between breaths but sound as threatening as possible.

He shakes his head and walks closer to me, kneeling beside me. His eyes are sad, worried even. "I don't know what he did, but I'm going to help you."

I take a painful breath, my moment of a break now allowing me to notice his fears when I hadn't paid attention before. "I don't need your help."

"Mads, you're my best friend." He doesn't take his eyes off of me, "I love you too much to give up." His eyes then widen in shock and a pained gasp is heard from his mouth.

I stare in confusion for a split second before my eyes shift behind the boy and see Strucker standing there. I forgot that he had been here the whole time but the look in his eyes is wild, a glee in them that scares me. It looks like he's satisfied.

"Hail Hydra." he says before backing away, a long knife full of blood in his hand. I recognize it immediately as the combat knife he always keeps in his belt.

My gaze goes back to the boy as soon as I see this, noticing that blood is leaking out of a hole in his shirt where his ribs are and he spits up red before collapsing onto the floor beside me. The anger subsides from my eyes, never seeing someone get stabbed before. He's just a kid. What did we do?

A flash of memories comes, my head screaming in pain as I blink slowly. "A-Archie?"

Archie spits up more blood, looking at me now. He's laying on his back and looks terrified. "Mads…" He gasps for air, his hand stretching out towards me.

Tears pool into my eyes, my head pounding in agony but I ignore it and reach out to hold his hand. Before I can reach him though I feel someone grab onto the collar of my shirt and pull me up to my feet. Strucker. "What do you think you're doing?"

I stare up at him with a gulp when I hear how upset he is, my brain a little foggy on what's happening. "W-What?"

"Who are you loyal to?" His tone is scary as he says this.

I look at him with a worried look, mouth opening and closing a few times. My head spins, mixed feelings and memories keep popping in and out of my head. It's all too much, too confusing. "I-I…"

Now panicked, my breathing picks up and his hand grabs onto my arm, gripping so hard that I wince. My eyes shift off for a second, scared out of my mind. I look at Archie clutching his wound, then I notice someone else standing nearby. It's Wanda. She has a bit of a cut on her cheek and her eyes are wide while she looks at me like she can't believe what she's seeing. Then my brain scatters her thoughts and her panic makes me panic more. Our gaze on each other has me know we're in trouble.

"Who are you loyal to?!"

His scream is so loud that I jump, grabbing my head from pain and more memories speed through my brain. I see myself in the hole feeling like I'm dying, hard kicks and punches until I couldn't breathe, electricity going through my body. Then I blink, straighten out and let go of my head. My eyes land on Wanda for a second once more before I look away from her and stare up at the man holding me. My eyes slowly die out in a way where it's firm, the throbbing gone and that same soldier's obedience kicks in. "You, Strucker."

He smirks and nods, "Good." He turns to Wanda, "Come."

The look on her face is alarmed, but she walks over regardless and stands beside me. She's so close that she has herself leaning slightly against my arm, her hand grazing my fingers. "What about Archie?"

"He's dying. Leave him." He tells us firmly.

Me and Wanda both stare at each other and then back to the boy on the floor who she called Archie. His breathing is shallow as he holds his bleeding wound to see that blood is seeping through his finger and more blood spewing out of his mouth. The worry in his eyes makes me feel for him, because I wouldn't want to be left alone dying either.

Then I feel something, someone's emotions and I look towards the door. The loud thoughts of a soldier swarms me, but it's not one of ours. There's only one person it can be. So I turn my head to Strucker and say, "Captain America is coming."
