Chapter 04: Unleash the Dogs of War

The Chaos Arena...

An illegal underground fighting arena once owned by Nomad, is open to fighters all over the world. Since Edwin Black's defeat, most of Nomad's assets were seized by G Corporation; with the Chaos Arena being one of them.

While it was previously controlled by the Nomad, they use the Arena to gain funds and contacts in the demonic criminal underworld in secrecy. They even kidnap people, including Taimanins to force them to fight selected opponents to the death. Which would often result in death or humiliation for the loser. On top of that, fights were recorded and broadcasted on television, through hidden channels.

Now under G Corporation's control, the Arena is made public. However, Kazuya decided to operate the Arena without stooping to the Nomad's level of depravity. Under his Darwinistic regime, fighting is about who is the last man standing. To that end, he repurposed the Chaos Arena to be used in a Battle Royale event.

Fighters from all over the world, even from the demon realm began duking it out on the ring. Other fighters include the Taekwondo prodigy Hwoarang, the self-proclaimed No.1 fighter in the universe, Paul Phoenix, the psychopathic cyborg Bryan Fury, and the heel wrestler Armor King.

The rules of the Chaos Arena Battle Royale (CABR) is simple: if you get thrown out of the ring means you're out. The last man standing wins.

It's every fighter for themselves as mayhem erupts. MMA prodigy Josie Rizal gets eliminated from the Battle Royale, thanks to the Storm Knight, Lina. Meanwhile, Armor King and Power Lady, both being pro wrestlers, got thrown out of the ring at the same time. Armor King is taking Power Lady down with him. As the ring slowly thins out of participants, Paul gets thrown out of the ring by Bryan Fury.

Just as Bryan was about to continue, he gets dragged out of the ring by Paul's best friend, Marshall Law. However, since there are security cameras, and nearby facilitators who caught him red handed, and the fact that Marshall was due to participate but was missing before the BR began...

"Disqualified!", one of the facilitators declare Law disqualified from the battle royale. "Security!"

"This stinks!", Marshall complained as security escort him out of the arena.

The mayhem rages on as Hwoarang encounters his fellow resistance member Miguel.

"Heh. Nice to run into you here. This is my lucky day!", Hwoarang snickered. "So, did you find him?"

"Save it. I'm really in a bad mood.", the Spaniard replied, with little to no emotion as he's focused on fighting.

"Welp, if that's the case... Don't disappoint me!", Hwoarang continues, insisting to let their fists do the talking.

Despite being a battle royale, sometimes running into unexpected acquaintances can be distractions. But can give participants an advantage. Hwoarang and Miguel have a history, since the former led an anti-Mishima resistance during Jin's time as head of the Mishima Zaibatsu.

Meanwhile, Miguel tosses Lina out of the ring, as he exclaims, "See you in hell, cabrona!", then has Bob Richards eliminated.

"There goes fatso.", followed by a snarky remark from Hwoarang. Then he runs into the British boxer, Steve Fox. "Shit, I thought I might run into you.", said Hwoarang as faces on the opposite direction behind Steve, while the Briton was facing another opponent on his side.

"That's my line, mate!", Steve continued as he delivers a string of punches at Kaliya. "Who would've thought we're fighting a lot of blokes in Halloween costumes in this bloody clown show?"

"They're demons. I don't care how or what they look like, I'm going to enjoy kicking their teeth down their fucking throats!"

Steve, Hwoarang, and Miguel continue cleaning house, until Miguel gets eliminated by the Incubus King. And Steve gets thrown out by Wight. Hwoarang then returns the favor by kicking Wight out of the ring, leaving him to face with the Incubus King.

Hwoarang gazes into the Incubus King's face, and he starts having flashbacks of him being attacked by Devil Jin. However, it only made Hwoarang angrier as he gives in to his rage and starts beating the Incubus King within an inch of his life. With the Incubus King weakened, Hwoarang sends the demon to a Dead End - he kicks the Incubus King to the right midsection, before stomping him on the face. The Taekwondo prodigy forces his feet on the Incubus King's face, which is enough to sever the demon's head out of his body.

The crowd were shocked to see an unexpected fatality, especially with a human actually killing a demon. Hwoarang panted, looking exhausted after surviving a battle royale. If that wasn't enough, Hwoarang stomps the Incubus King's head, leaving behind a puddle of demon blood on his feet.

Given the people watching this fight live for the thrill of blood sport, they cheered at Hwoarang.

"The winner is... Hwoarang!", the announcer declares the winner.

The Blood Talon felt no conceit, and beating a high-ranking demon wasn't enough to quell his rage and obsession to fight Jin. After that, he just simply walks out of the ring.

After claiming his prize money, he runs into Steve, who seems shocked by Hwoarang killing his demonic opponent in a fit of rage.

"What in the bloody hell did you just do back in the ring?", asked Steve.

"Dude, mind your own business. This has nothing to do with you."

"I saw it with my own eyes! You just snapped and killed that demon.", Steve warns that killing a demon could also mean that Hwoarang is placing a target behind his back. "Imagine yourself being hunted down by that demon's ilk."

"I'm not having any of it!", Hwoarang spat.

"Okay, does this have anything to do with Jin Kazama?", Steve read Hwoarang's mind.

"Enough, man.", Hwoarang decides to ignore Steve's question and went on. But not before giving the half of his money to Law, who got disqualified during the Chaos Arena Battle Royale.

"Ah, shite... What's got into him?", Steve sighed in his own disappointment. To him, Hwoarang was just another rival and occasional sparring partner; he has never seen this side of him.

A week after G Corporation's attack on Gosha...

At the Fuuma Estate, where Kotaro Fuuma resides.

It seems like an average Saturday morning as Fuuma wakes up. However, something feels wrong. The skies weren't supposed to turn red, as he looked outside.

"(That's weird... The sky just turned red...)", Fuuma spoke to himself. Once outside, he sees debris falling from the sky like meteors. "Holy shit..."

Tokiko's voice calls out her master. "Young master, come inside and watch this on television."

As soon Fuuma looks on the television on what appears to be a live broadcast featuring Kazuya Mishima, in his Devil form.

"That's...", Fuuma muttered, he could barely move as if he is petrified in fear, seeing the sight of the diabolical appearance of a devil man speaking to the entire world. "It's being broadcasted around the world!"

Just then, Kazuya begins his speech adressed to the entire world...

"I speak now to all of humanity. For too long have you humans relied on weapons and ordinance, transforming into a race of spineless weaklings. The rulers of this world are too frail and have forgotten what it means to fight. Why should we blindly abide by the rules and social conventions invented by such cowards? Foolish humans! Open your eyes! I shall rewrite the rules of this irrational world."

Meanwhile at the Igawa Estate, both Asagi and Sakura also watched Kazuya's speech. The Almighty Taimanin's fears area already coming to pass following G Corporation's attack on Gosha.

Elsewhere, in an undisclosed safehouse, Edwin Black listened to the Cold-Blooded Oppressor's rhetoric while smoking a cigar. The Vampire King's blood begin to stir with anticipation.

As Kazuya's speech continues, other Taimanins in their homes and across the world watched, as well as fighters from around the world as he makes an announcement.

"Only those who show the depts of their mettle have any place in the new world I shall rule! Toward that end, I announce the opening of The King of Iron Fist Tournament! Come to the tournament, if you count yourself among the strong! Seize glory in your own hands, achieve it with your fists! But be warned; those who fail to prove their might shall be wiped from the Earth, along with their country. Come, humanity! Unleash the dogs of war! Mwahahahahaha!"

As Kazuya ends his speech with a maniacal laughter, he is then covered by a veil of fire as if this is to close the act.

The following day, Asagi, Sakura, Yukikaze, and Fuuma were called upon by Section Three, as Nobushige Yamamoto, the head of Section Three at the Ministry of National Affairs and Public Safety of the Japanese government discuss the situation following Kazuya's announcement of the upcoming King of Iron Fist Tournament.

"Kazuya Mishima now has the entire world at the palm of his hands, just as we feared.", Yamamoto said. "Heihachi's disappearance did not put an end to the tensions between the Mishima Zaibatsu and G Corporation. Kazuya opted to subjugate the world and impose a Darwinistic regime where humans and demons are to fight one another for survival."

"What happened a week earlier was just the tip of the iceberg. Not because Jin Kazama ended up here, we are now at G Corporation's crosshairs.", Asagi spoke.

"Speaking of Jin, what happened to him?", Fuuma asked.

Yamamoto continued, "There's a drone footage of him fighting Kazuya in Manhattan. This was a fierce fight that he gained the upper hand at first, but Kazuya was able to turn the tide of the battle to his favor. And then, he begins to destroy every satellite orbiting in space, as if he set an example to anyone defying him."

The drone footage shows Jin, in his devil form fighting Kazuya, but with little to no success. Jin goes missing again after failing to defeat his own father.

"Unbelievable...", Fuuma looked despondent, having thought that Jin can finally end Kazuya's reign of terror, but alas...

"I wonder what is going on with the UFS and the Chinese Union?", Asagi asked.

Yamamoto then reveals the effects of Kazuya's dominance over the world, "Ever since Kazuya had finally asserted his authority over the world, G Corporation began a purge on both governments."

"A regime change?!", exclaimed Fuuma.

"Perhaps it is. Kazuya ordered the purge of the UFS and Chinese Union governments and had both nations led by puppet rulers that will only answer to him."

"That's horrible...", Fuuma lamented. "If leaking Momochi's data regarding the Nomad wasn't enough to cause a turmoil, then I don't know what is. We can't just stand here and let Kazuya do whatever he wants to the world! I'm going to enter that tournament and fight."

Yukikaze is flabbergasted, hearing that Fuuma even plans to go into the King of Iron Fist Tournament.

"Seriously, Fuuma. How are you going to plan going in a fighting tournament by yourself? You don't even have a Ninja Art yet.", the Lightning Taimanin said. "Not to mention, you're only accustomed to giving orders as the Task Force's captain!"

"If Fuuma plans to enter the tournament. Then, so be it.", Asagi seems to be okay with Fuuma going into the King of Iron Fist Tournament. "I'm also planning to go into the tournament too. If other Taimanins plan to participate, this must be our only chance to reach into Kazuya."

Author's Note:

-Chaos Arena is only mentioned in Action Taimanin, as this played a role on Sora Kannazuki's backstory, where she was kidnapped and sold to demons in the Arena. Here, Chaos Arena ends up being owned by G Corporation, where they host a battle royale due to Nomad's defeat in Chapter 19 of Action Taimanin.

-The following Tekken characters participating in the Chaos Arena Battle Royale are the following:

* Hwoarang (he wins the battle royale; he eliminates the Incubus King)

* Paul Phoenix (he gets eliminated by Bryan)

* Marshall Law (he gets disqualified for hiding under the ring; as he purposely drags Bryan out of the ring after Paul gets eliminated)

* Armor King II (both him and Power Lady get thrown out of the ring at the same time)

* Miguel Caballero Rojo (eliminated by the Incubus King)

* Steve Fox (Eliminated by Wight)

* Bob Richards (he gets eliminated by Miguel)

* Josie Rizal (she's the first to be eliminated out of the ring by Lina)

* Bryan Fury (Marshall purposely throws him out of the ring while he was hiding under, which got him disqualified in the first place)

-The following Taimanin characters participating in the CABR are the following:

* Power Lady (she and Armor King got thrown out of the ring at the same time)

* Lina (eliminated by Miguel)

* Kaliya/Snake Lady (eliminated by Bryan)

* Wight (eliminated by Hwoarang)

* Ryuji Kuroi/Incubus King (eliminated by Hwoarang; which made him the winner of the CABR)

- "Dead End" is Hwoarang's throw, facing the opponent at the right using throw commands 1+3 or 2+4. This is how Hwoarang decapitates the Incubus King, killing him. This makes Hwoarang the only Tekken character in the story to actually kill a demon from the Taimanin series.
