Here we are with chapter 4 of terminator altered fate, sorry that it took so long, it's just that I have been having a bad case of writer's block, and I was processing how long will it take for this story to get to where grace arrives and for the birth of legion to begin. so i have a feeling this is going to be a very long fanfic.

Chapter 4

normal POV:

While the T-800 or currently named Carl was driving the car, John was already thinking about Aaron's next mission of finding Kyle Reese's parents and getting them together so that Kyle Reese can exist in this timeline. Honestly, it was quite a surprise that this Kyle Reese was his biological father, and it makes john wonder what else happened in the Skynet timeline. He was quite curious if there were other people in the resistance besides Kyle Reese, so he decided to ask Carl "so… Carl… are there other people involved in the resistance, besides me and this… Kyle Reese?" john asked. The t-800 was silent at first but then spoke "affirmative! But I don't have every name of the resistance members in my database. But I only know a few." Carl said as he kept on driving down the road. Sarah just sat there in the back seat with john, being very protective of john when driving with a machine in the driver seat. John then spoke out to Carl, "then… can you give me the names? I need to know if there is anyone I know who have joined my resistance in the previous Skynet timeline." john asked insistingly as Sarah stared at john, feeling curious and nervous of what her son is thinking. Then finally Carl decided to answer John's question "your lieutenants are; Katherine Brewster, Robert Brewster, William Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson, José Barrera, Simon Taylor, Issac hall, fritz Roland, Vince Forcer, Sharlene gen, Jacob rivers, frank rivers, Jessica baron and ted Snavely." Carl said, as he listed the names of the people involved in the war against Skynet. Suddenly john widened after hearing those list of names feeling like he remembered hearing one or two of those names somewhere before "wait I think I know two of those names." john said while snapping his fingers trying to remember what that name was. Then it suddenly the name came to him, "Kate… that's her name, Kate Brewster. She was one of those students in my school. And that other name… rivers he was one of my classmates, although we've never met personally before, except he was just like any normal student." john said as he felt shocked and surprised that both Kate and frank were with the resistance. Sarah on the other hand was curious about John's school days when she was in that mental hospital building.

"John, what are you talking about?" Sarah asked her son. John turned his face towards his mother as realization filled his eyes, "mom, I think we need more people than just Kyle Reese. What if those robots weren't just sent here to kill me. They might have been sent to kill the other people that are in this resistance thing. So if we are to fight against legion, then we'll need everyone from the resistance of the Skynet timeline to build a new resistance for this timeline… before legion goes online." john said to his mother as he explains to her. This plan of John's seemed to be very risky and would put him in a lot of danger, but the thought of it seemed like a brilliant one that will help this Dani Ramos's and her fight against legion in the near future. "Okay john you're getting too ahead of yourself and need to think first, we blew up Cyberdyne building to destroy Skynet, and we nearly got ourselves killed." Sarah said while reminding her son about what happened in the past, but to him, he knew that something has to be done to fight against this so-called legion. So they need to be prepared for it and fast. If what Aaron said is actually true and if legion does happen, then they'll need all the help that they can get.

John then took a moment to think and forgot that they need to find Aaron and tell him about the other members of the resistance against Skynet, "we have to go back for Aaron and tell him what we know now" john said to Carl as he begs for Carl to help. Carl turns his face towards john and spoke "negative we must focus on my new current mission, but Aaron did leave me with this" Carl said as he takes out a walkie-talkie from his pocket. John's eyes widen as he saw the item that the t-800 was carrying, "he told me to keep this just in case he wanted to contact us if he found Kyle Reese's parents." Carl continued as he explained to them about how he got the walkie-talkie. John then spoke out, "let me use it." john asked as he took it from the hand of the t-800 and started to contact Aaron.

Meanwhile, Aaron was driving down the road while he was going to find the parents of Kyle Reese, in hopes of ensuring the existence of Kyle Reese happening. But then he hears his walkie-talkie making noises, realizing that the t-800 was trying to contact him. So Aaron decided to use it and to find out why Carl was calling him suddenly "this is Aaron, over…" Aaron said, trying to get a reply.

Suddenly he got a reply "Aaron this is john Connor… over… we got a major update from Carl… I think that the t-800's are not just sent here to kill me… I think they are here to terminate other members of the resistance and two of my schoolmates are on that list." john said through the walkie-talkie, feeling anxious about the others. Aaron's eyes widen in shock and suddenly hit the brakes as the tires make a screeching sound, "there are others? You're telling me now! Why didn't he tell me this earlier?" Aaron asked, feeling both surprised and confused. "I don't know, I didn't think it was important until now." john said, talking through the walkie-talkie again. After taking this all in, Aaron was starting to realize that his agenda is going to be more difficult than he thought. But he manages to keep cool about this and took a moment to get some answers about these other members of the resistance that was against Skynet in the Skynet timeline "look there are some things about the Skynet timeline that I need to know, so I'll put this unexpected oversight behind me for now." Aaron said, hoping to get this personal mission over with. "Now tell me of these other members of the resistance from the Skynet timeline so that I can get it all written down." Aaron asked as he was prepared to get some updated information, soon john brought the walkie-talkie close to the T-800's mouth as he spoke out the information regarding the members of the resistance. Aaron later started writing it all down, learning about their relatives and where to locate them. After the t-800 laid it all down, John told Aaron about building a resistance before legion is born, if it does happen. To Aaron, this feels like he was stalking and didn't want to be branded a stalker. However, he knew that John might have a point, they would have to do whatever it takes to survive if they were to have a fighting chance against legion. Not to mention, the idea of forming a resistance against legion before it begins might be the most daring plan that john Connor ever thought up, in fact no general in his timeline had ever thought of something like this before.

Aaron's mission was now clear, no matter how difficult, stressful, painful or tough the mission may be... Aaron must find these people that were marked on Skynet's hit list. Still, his first priority was finding Kyle Reese's parents and get them together, But how is he expected to find this many people to join up? "John this is a daring idea, but you know that I am already on a mission to find Kyle's parents, but I am also concern for the effect it would have on the time-stream, remember when I said about preventing judgment day might only delay it?" Aaron said, trying to explain the possibilities of the future changing, "what if legion is only going to be delayed further without us knowing it and the people we recruited would think we were wrong." Aaron continued. John was silent and somewhere in the back of his mind Aaron was right, "I know we're taking much more greater risks than we can handle, but I still think we need to get some help." john said, trying to be reasonable.

But then Carl spoke out, "I highly recommend using key strategies." Carl said as he begins telling john and Sarah the details, while Aaron listens through the walkie-talkie. Aaron smiled, feeling impressed by the details of Carl's strategy, "I guess this might become possible, alright I'll focus on finding Kyle Reese's parents, and then I begin my focus on finding the other people that were involved in the Skynet timeline. But out of curiosity, what are these roles that this Kate Brewster and frank rivers played." Aaron asked. John felt worried but was rather curious why Skynet is targeting that girl Kate Brewster "Through Kate Brewster, you contacted remnants of the military… and learned how to fight Skynet, forming the core of the Resistance." Carl explained, as John felt surprised of this, he had no idea Kate Brewster would be that important. "Later, your children will become important." Carl continued, John paused for a moment after hearing that, and Sarah was already confused. John then thought for a moment as he tried to process what Carl meant by that… "Wait... What?" john asked. Everything was silent until Carl finally broke it, "She's your wife." Carl said as he resumed driving. John eyes widen, and his jaw dropped to the ground, "MY WIFE!" john shouted in shock.
