"Very nice work. The samples you've grown for the science project look very healthy." Mr. Kaplin told us as he looked over our little growing trees.
"Thanks, Mr. Kaplin." Trini and I said together.
"You know I think you're ready for phase 2. Transplanting them to the park." Mr. Kaplin said.
"Cool." Kim said.
"Soon they'll grow into trees and provide the environment oxygen and clean air." Zack added.
"At the accelerated rate rain forests are being destroyed, every tree counts." Billy continued.
"Wow. Keep me posted on your progress." Mr. Kaplin said before leaving.
"Nerds. Nerds, how absurd, how does your garden grow." Bulk asked.
"Yeah, how does it grow?" Skull copied.
"With Billy's special fertilizer, it's going to grow great." Jason replied.
"Want to make a bet. This time we've got you geeks beat. Show 'em, Skull." Bulk said.
Skull rolled over a cart and when they pulled off the cover, I had to stifle a laugh because there was no way they grew the trees.
"Now these are baby trees. Not like those toothpicks you guys are growing." Bulk said.
"Yeah, toothpicks." Skull echoed.
"100% pure plastic baby tree, $19.95. Yeah, you guys are really ahead of us. Not." Kim said after reading the price tag and heading back to us.
"I thought I told you to pull off the tags." Bulk growled at Skull.
"Ah, I knew I forgot something." Skull said.
Bulk then went after Skull, but Skull decided to throw green paint on Bulk.
"Won't you watch what you're doing." the poor unsuspecting student said to Bulk and Skull.
"Now he's as close as he's ever going to get to having a green thumb." Zack laughed.
We all joined in and then headed to the park. We planted our trees and laughed as Zack lightly hit Jason's face. We then went to go get some water, but when we returned, we saw Squatt, one of Rita's goons. We were trying to figure out what he was doing when putties showed up and I gladly helped the others fight them off.
"Man, what was that all about?" Zack asked as the putties disappeared.
"I don't know. Rita must be up to something." Jason replied.
"Definitely up to something." Kim said as the ground shook.
"Let's get to the Command Center." Jason said.
We got to the Command Center and I waited to see what Rita was doing this time.
"Ai yi yi yi!" Alpha said.
"Power Rangers, my sensors indicate a major disturbance in the morphing grid. Observe the Viewing Globe." Zordon said.
"Great, Rita is having another one of her temper tantrums." Kim scoffed.
"As soon as Alpha has entered all the data, the computer can initiate a search for the source of the disturbance." Zordon explained.
"Ai yi yi! So many figures, so little time." Alpha said.
"Let me and Ashlynn help you with that, Alpha." Billy said.
I joined them at the computer and helped put the figures in.
"Sounds like we need to work fast." Zack added.
"Time is of the essence, Rangers, we may be able to stop whatever Rita has planned, if we can catch it in time." Zordon said.
"I want to go back to the park, Zordon. See if I can figure out why Squatt was there. It may tie into all this." Jason said.
"Excellent idea, Jason." Zordon said.
"I'll let you know what I find." Jason said.
"Be careful, Jase." Zack said.
I gave Jason a nod and he knew that I wanted him to be careful. Jason teleported back to the park and we waited to see what was found.
A few minutes later, Zordon contacted Jason.
"What is it, Zordon?" Jason asked.
"We traced the energy disturbance to the park. Rita has apparently planted some powerful seeds there." Zordon replied.
"So that's what Squatt was doing here." Jason said.
"Yes, find the seeds. If the bulb is allowed to bloom, the monster will quickly reach full power." Zordon said.
"I found something, Zordon. I found Rita's sees, but they're protected in some kind of energy field." Jason said.
"Alright, I'm almost finished entering all the data." Alpha said.
"The alarm!" Zack exclaimed.
"The Viewing Globe. Jason is trapped!" Trini said as we went to the Viewing Globe.
"That things got a hold of him." Zack said.
"What is it?" Kimberly and I asked together.
"One of Rita's monsters, known as Octoplant." Zordon explained.
"We got to help him." Zack said.
They morphed and went to help Jason. I watched from the Viewing Globe and prayed that the gang won the battle like they always do.
"Ai yi yi! The Power Rangers are in terrible trouble, Zordon." Alpha said.
"Yes, I'm afraid Rita's Octoplant is about to bloom." Zordon said.
I couldn't help but giggle when Trini called Octoplant an 'overgrown petal pusher'. Even though this is a serious battle, at least Trini did what Rita always does and made fun of the monster. The Rangers won, of course, and the next morning at school was going to be fun.
"Plants can be amazing, huh." Jason said.
"Yeah, leave it to Rita to take something as beautiful as a plant and make it evil." Kim said.
"I just hope that's the end of her green thumb." Trini said as we headed into class.
"I just want you to know that I'm extremely impressed with all your science projects. And I passed by the park this morning to see how the sapplings fared. You really did a great job." Mr. Kaplin said.
"Thanks, Mr. Kaplin. I just hope the people of Angel Grove will treat them with care and respect." Trini said.
"Affirmative. When they grow up to be trees, they'll provide us with beauty, shade, and clean air." Billy added.
Bulk and Skull then came in and boy did they look a mess.
"Hey, what about us? We deserve an A+ after what we've been through." Bulk said.
"Yeah, after what we've been through." Skull repeated.
"Farkus, Eugene, you're late again. Where have you been?" Mr. Kaplin asked.
"We got taken for a ride and then we got dumped." Bulk replied.
"Yeah, in a dumpster." Skull added.
"What's the matter? What's the problem here? What is it with you two?" Mr. Kaplin asked as he joined Bulk and Skull.
Before we knew it, Mr. Kaplin sniffed the air around Bulk and Skull and fainted. The whole class laughed after Bulk and Skull sniffed themselves before shrugging their shoulders.
